Found your Tumblr yesterday and was so happy to see a Tumblr dedicated to OC sharing! We all know how hard it is to be an OC creator as people tend to overlook OCs a lot so having a space for them here was such an amazing idea!
I, myself, love to share my OCs around and see other's OCs so I would love to share these two cuties from my original story with you all!
This beautiful art was a commission I ordered from the sweet Calmomila, one of my favorite TLK artists.
If you don't mind I'd like to take advantage of this piece to explain a bit about these two girls (more of an info dump, I'M SO SORRY FSKJFKDJS) because I am totally crazy over them. *screams*
The one standing is Thabisa, the leader of the Jabulani pride, which is a pride that consists only of females, they are seen as atypical and other prides don’t appreciate their ways, however, they are also feared because they are extremely capable lionesses and are known to drive away males trying to invade their territory, especially the ones who still follow the old ways as they do not approve these (my story happens during a period of change, prides are slowly appropriating the new ways, basically the old ways are just like how lions work in real life, while the new ways work kinda like the The Lion King world, but with a few differences).
The Jabulani pride is a very unique pride, with their own culture and rules.
The one lying down is Matimba, she is a trans lioness that had a very rough past and wasn’t well accepted by her previous pride.
She was kicked out of the pride after she finally got the courage to face them about their acts of prejudice towards her, especially towards her incomplete mane, for which she was bullied.
Unfortunately for her, their territory wasn’t far away from the sandy lands where the Jabulani pride lives and she ends up getting lost into a totally different biome than what she was used to, not being able to thrive alone due to the lack of experience and adaptation.
She was found by Thabisa and some of her lionesses weeks later, she was severely dehydrated and malnourished, could barely get up.
Together the females were able to move Matimba to a safe place within their territory and took care of her for the next months.
Once Matimba gained some of her strength back, she finally started to introduce herself, she wasn’t sure if she could trust them yet so she still presented herself as Mavuto, her now dead name, quickly she started to realize there was no need to hide her true self, Thabisa knew the signs and to Matimba’s surprise, she was totally fine with her being trans.
She was loved and cared for since the day she was found and it didn’t take too long for her to finally feel at home, a home where she could finally be herself.
The name Matimba was suggested by Thabisa when she decided she wanted to get rid of her birth name, not only because it was a male name, but also because it gave her some sad memories that she wanted to let go, she didn’t feel right with it anymore.
The name means “strength” and that was how Thabisa started to see her after finding out about her past: a representation of courage and strength.
I am an avid shipper of these two, I don’t care if I am the creator and if people find it cringe for a creator to ship their own OCs, I'mma shipping them until the day I die, I love them so much.

I'm sorry if this is a month late, but I am slowly recovering from burnout. But to answer the bove! For this one, I hope that you don't mind if I focus on Kristina, seeing as my blog is largely AOT-centric. ♪(´▽｀)
❤️are any of your ocs hopeless romantics?
Kristina actually is quite the hopeless romantic. It doesn't show very much because of how she can be quite strict with herself when it comes to this whole love business, but it's pretty hard to blame her when her object of affection, as a Marleyan, is an Eldian. She doesn't show it much, but she often dreams about a day when she could finally just confess her feelings towards Reiner; maybe live in a nice and peaceful household somewhere in Liberio. She doesn't mind if it's in the Internment Zone, since she does like the Eldians in general.
It doesn't help that because it's no secret that Reiner was able to live on the island for a good number of years, and was able to return... allows her to speculate that he had formed bonds with the people there. And when she comes to know the kind of bonds (something that he tells her eventually) her hope continues to live on. Because Reiner knew the truth, it was possible for them so simply coexist. Which opens up the path of being able to even love each other despite the differences.

All my OCs have had their hearts broken in some way or form as part of their character development because in this house the OCs are suffering. Kristina for example is always experiencing some form of heartbreak because of her situation. She's always in a predicament where she has to purposefully be an awful human being to the person that she does love because being more than that can cause problems. She betrays her best friend by telling Reiner what she knows about Zeke's plan. But at the same time, she betrays the Eldians who she had hoped to protect by putting them in danger by not speaking out beforehand. But most of all, since she feels like she betrayed Reiner as well... it's always heart breaking for her... from so many angles.

I have a bunch of AOT OCs for my canonverse fic but my main girlie is Zheng Nüwa (aka Vesper Zheng to everyone outside her immediate friendship circle). This fic isn't published, it's a long-term project of mine, but I do have some snippets (not quite 15 though, but hopefully these quotes give you an idea of who she is). One is from an old one-shot I posted a while back, and the rest I've not yet revealed. The quotes are in no particular order and they are all from various points in the story. They aren't very polished but I am proud of what I have so far and am excited to keep writing and developing Nüwa's characterisation 🥹
1 - "It’s a unique type of grief knowing you’re the last of your kind, isn’t it?"
2 - "This world breeds two kinds: monsters, and those who fall prey to them. I refuse to be the latter."
3 - Her lips quirked with amusement. "Don't delude yourself, Erwin. I'd be a terrible Scout and you know it. I've come to enjoy your presence, but the idea of me willingly putting my life in your hands and trusting in your harebrained schemes is laughable at best. Come on now."
4 - "Levi," she whispered hoarsely, the pads of her fingers lingering at his temple, before reverently moving across his face, tracing his features, committing the sight of him to memory with her hands. "Why couldn’t we be more selfish?"
5 - Nüwa blinked, the image of [REDACTED]'s corpse branded irreversibly into her mind. Her head spun - with grief, with fear, with rage. Bitter, carnal rage that threatened to devour her from within. "Mel," she said, voice sounding distant to her own ringing ears, "would you like to hunt a man with me?"
6 - Gently, she took Levi's trembling hands into hers. "You were never given the chance to be anything other than what everyone else needed you to be. If the world won't give you that chance, then I will."
7 - "I am always walking the line between justice and vengeance. I try to champion the former but ultimately, I crave the latter. It is tiring to carry this anger, but I do not know who I am without it."
8 - "Secrets don't stay secrets for long, especially amongst the nobility." Nüwa smiled, then, but it didn't reach her eyes. She laughed sardonically, and Levi could feel his heart clench. "I've found myself deep in a den of vipers. It's a good thing I fit right in, isn’t it?"

What were your biggest inspirations for developing your OCs in 2023?
The regular ones, songs, romance stories, aesthetic stuff on tumblr.com, fairytales and myths, my top 3 comfort animes I rewatched all this year (aot, fruits basket, & sailor moon s1-2)
But since I've also been more intrigued by the idea of finally putting them into a full story and writing (especially evy, with Carmine. Eventually I'll get to it with Mia in "wallflower and the diamond in the rough".) I'll give credit to media analysis videos of certain female characters /ships within canon media that I love for how to write arcs/dynamics/ themes that'd intrigue me. In that sense it also helps for "storytelling through art" with my ideas nowadays being more scenario-based and involve direct interaction than static solo character art, like my reinelyn artworks.
(Y'know maybe Em really was onto something when suggesting me to make Carmine a comic, I get intrigued by the idea everytime it hits me again 😆💞)
Technically this one is solo Evelyn but like,,, it's a reaction from her point of view to Reiner's return (and condition) when his mission on the island ended so I add it.
Early traces can be found in my Demia stuff from the beginning 🤧🤧 I was mostly on IG then.

What was your favorite OC related memory of 2023?
Honestly the very fact that people show genuine interest and all the asks I get (｡ŏ﹏ŏ)
A fairly recent specific one was Em @whatthefucksatan showing me on discord a small bit she wrote for them and I might as well started chewing on my cat head pillow after that. Like drawing them is one thing and I could swoon over that too. But writing is something I wouldn't have expected 🥹🤧💖

I actually have a question 👀 How does she celebrate and feel about her birthday? Does she usually gets any gifts from Reiner? If so, what was her favourite gift ever?

Omgggg that's a great one! Also is the Vulpix gif a throwback to me mentioning that had she been a Pokémon it'd be this or what- (≧▽≦)
So for your questions!
How does she feel about it?
So Evelyn remembered her ones during life back at the mansion being treated as so big and incredible and well anticipated... but maybe as big as it really can be in a space like that after all. She hoped she could remember it having more people than it really did and all of them were familiar faces of people that just worked there. Not going anywhere either despite it being in plannings every year.
Nowdays, she tries to not make a fuss out of it, in some instance even forgot it all together. Simply felt like getting her hair done a special way today and maybe add up some accessory. Not openly stating it or expecting anything from her current family either way since knowing them they'd probably ask her 'oh just how old are you 5? ' as in ,,mockingly.
Almost overwhelmed by surprise when someone wants to do something for it. Like, would actually bother and not consider it a waste. Give her anything or take her somewhere. They have their own day after all! Still it's in a good way, she's really thankful for that, and already thinking on what should she get them in their time, while enjoying it to it's own.
Any gifts from Reiner?
It has a range. For a starter since she's awfully quiet about it, once actually realizing what this day is - Reiny can't help feel like it's a shame since that leaves him to a "rushed" resort of spotting a classic choice of good jewelry and getting her just that. Like he could do much more had he known earlier, get her anything at all make sure it's great and really match it to her needs and personality. Even if just by the end of the day or morning after.
That said, it being a strong sign of genuine care and also that he knows her well enough to see it'd be to her liking to choose it first is already endearing enough for her she can't help it. Actually even worrying he really bothered to THAT level 'but it wasn't too costly now was it...?' . Which he either way dismisses as nonsense argument with an ambiguous argument of "my budget allowed me just perfectly". Worth the smile she just couldn't wipe off even then.
Following birthdays have that too since it's already known enough she loves jewelries after all and cherishes it in any shape type and color; and let's herself put them on in public. But also more practical additions (one includes a small stand to actually place all her previous jewellery on 😆) , and more on the classic side a bouquet 💐 🤧 maybe even bring her somewhere , just them both really
Her favourite one would be... non-related to birthday ones don't count right? So I'd say,,, she has hard time picking. Maybe she'd say the one she just got this year every time, showcasing it gets better and better each year 🥰(ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*.✧
