Day 20 - Frost

Simon sits on a rose-coloured sofa and sinks to the springs. I stifle a laugh. His blue eyes meet mine, and it's good. For just a moment. It's unexpectedly good. He looks too handsome in my clothes. He looks to handsome in his own terrible clothes; he's bloody unbearable in mine. Lady Salisbury is back soon enough with a tray. She still seems tearful. "I hope you like chocolate," she says, serving Simon a mountainous wedge of cake. "Who doesn't like chocolate," he replies, earning another smile. ... Whatever else, her cake is very good. Snow is inhaling his. "So," Lady Salisbury says, sitting back in the sofa, "did Malcolm send you to talk to me? Is he frustrated with the Coven as well?" "Oh," I say, "Well. No. My father—" "We took this on ourselves," Simon cuts in. (If ever someone was emboldened by baked goods.)

Any Way the Wind Blows, Chapter 27, Rainbow Rowell.

I had an idea for this prompt but I came down with a nasty bug and was too sick to draw. But I love this scene and really wanted to finish it, even if I missed the day.

Simon starts out nervous but switches to his normal heroic self, made bold by a mountain of cake. And Baz is trying to hide some pretty sappy heart eyes behind his polite company manners. All of Lady Ruth's cakes sound delicious and this four-layer chocolate cake was fun to draw. Although too bad Simon hasn't taken off his smart jacket yet, so his wings were still hidden.

Watford Drama Club AU / These are my pieces for CORB 2022. The first one inspired the (wonderful) fic written by @babethepig. (the second one was inspired by the fic). I loved being paired which such an amazing, smart and charming person as Basl. <3

@rainbowrowell now i am AWARE that you are a professional writer and must therefore use your talent to (unfortunately) write other characters and books but allow me to (please) lay out the reasons you must write a fourth simon snow book. (i beg of you.) (i need it like the air i breathe.)

the 12 year old in me that first read CO cannot accept that simon snow (my beloved), who’s been dealt shitty hands for his whole life, has to hold the scars of his suffering forever. i cannot come to terms with his wings being cut off and leaving gashes in his back, and his magic having to be the sacrifice to save the world of mages. i cannot live knowing that he had magic once, so, so much of it, and has to live with this gaping hole where it used to be, forever. he doesn’t deserve the scars, the burnt remnants. his wings are such a beautiful aspect of his being, the beginnings of his openness and acceptance of himself, and they deserve to go with grace. he deserves magic. he gave up enough.

it is my birthday, and tyrannus basilton grimm-pitch is my soulmate, and i miss him extremely and viscerally (carnally). being president of the baz fanclub is a difficult task when i have to scrape crumbs of content out from the same 1500 or so pages. i crave new baz knowledge. i need to know what suits he’s purchasing and what he’s doing with his LSE degree and all this new shit about vampires. i need to hear his opinion on edward cullen. i dream about him twice a week.

point 2, but fiona (my favourite AILF).

we have yet to receive one book where my teeth are not CHATTERING with the absolute terror that simon will run out on (or beat up) baz at any given moment. i want snowbaz at peace!!! we deserve some peace!!! a whole book of it even!!! (i’m serious. they need to be put in rice to suck all the pain out.)
