Good morning lovelies 😊 Mind you, I definitely am not sure what is good about it. There’s another strike today which means a delay on orders being delivered and collected which means more messages to answer and orders to track. Then there’s a window to post but for most post offices it’s a half day, so ….. It’s a never ending circle at the minute. 1. People want the orders they have paid for ✅ 2. We have posted them 📦 🚚 ✅ 3. They have been delivered on time ❌ 4. They are in transit ✅ 5. Customers want us to track an order that they choose to not have tracked 🤷‍♀️ For many small businesses, the Royal Mail strikes are making life a misery. We invest the money from our sales into replenishing and stocking up on materials that we need to keep us going. However, when we are having to remake orders and pay for postage again due to delays/missing orders, that all comes from our pockets. This adds extra stress onto us and in some cases makes it very difficult to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Not to mention that our materials are also delivered by mail and courier services which means we also face huge delays. Using other service providers isn’t always an option as some of our goods can only be sent through Royal Mail or Parcelforce. We are actively searching for a courier that will offer competitive rates and take all our goods. For now though, we have removed the option of any other delivery apart from Royal Mail, signed. We appreciate that it is not to everyone’s choice but it’s not in our hands if your order does not turn up on time for Christmas and I don’t want either yours or our family time to be overshadowed by missing gifts. As always, we’d like to thank our loyal customers for keeping us busy and offer a huge welcome to our new customers and followers. Y/N had enough of this girl’s bullshit. So much so that when she saw the article from Koreaboo, she snapped. She was sick and tired of this brat having some type of one-sided beef with her. So when we had asked their driver to make a stop on the way to their destination, nobody questioned it. At least, not until Hades had realized they had stopped in front of the EVE dorms, and Y/N was pulling off a few things. Her shoes, her jewelry, her lashes. Nadia looked at Sei before looking back at Y/N.

“Hey, Y/N.” Rei had started to say as Y/N pulled her hair into a bun. The leader dancer stopped and looked at her. “What are you doing?”

“I’m gonna talk to Chaewon, and if she puts her hand on me, i’m gonna put her in her place.” With that, she opened the door, hoping out of the car and walking towards the front door. Hades made a gesture for the rest of them to wait, getting out and following her. Y/N’a palm hit the door several times, until a tall girl with blue hair with purple ends answered. Her expression went from clueless to grim.

“She’s in her room, i’ll go get her.” She said lowly before disappearing. Y/N tapped her foot impatiently. “Chaewon, there's someone at the door for you.” No longer then a few seconds does she appear, and she crossed her arms after seeing who it was. She begins to open her mouth, probably to say something snarky or rude, but Y/N cuts her off.

“Look, i don't know what your issue with me is, and to be fucking for real, i don't really care. I don't know you that well and i don't want to, but keep my fucking name out your mouth. I don't know what weird obsession you have with Sunghoon, and he's not my boyfriend so i don't really care, but i’ll tell you in plain terms what the truth is: He doesn't fucking like you or want you. I don't know what you did to him to the full extent but i know you did some fucked up shit. It's time to move on, because gaslighting him and blackmailing him into a relationship he doesn't want may feed your ego, but what happens when you realize that he doesn't want you? Then what? An endless cycle of you leaving him and then running back when it's convenient for you?”

“Get over yourself. And don't bring me into it for god's sake. You want to ruin our fake relationship? Fine. But leave my career and my friend's out of it. I'm not here to argue, I'm not here to grovel. I'm here to give you a fucking reality check, because while your daddy can buy you into companies and groups and take away opportunities for people who worked hard for them, he has you living in La La land, and i’m sick of that shit. Get a fucking grip and grown the fuck up.” She turns around, grabbing Hades hand and pulling the leader with her, before she stops, and drops her hand. She turns around, walking back up to Chaewon. “And for the love of god, apologize to Sunghoon. I don't care if its not sincere, and you don't want to. If you actually want him back because you realize you lost a great-” Her voice cracks, and brushes a tear that fell from her lash away before clearing her throat. “-a great person, apologize. He deserves becauses even if I can't stand him right now, I know he's not doing well no matter how well he pretends.” She turns around, walking back to the car.

Hades turns to look at Chaewon, but to the redhead’s surprise, Chaewon looked….sorry. She wipes her nose, and closes the door. Hades frowns before getting back into the car. Hades isn't usually one to feel remorse, especially with someone who toyed with multiple people’s feelings, but the leader felt that somewhere, deep down in her, Chaewon wasn’t a bad person.

Like every Sunday before, Y/N prepared to go out by herself. After Friday and their 100 day celebration, they slept through Saturday, passing each other in the usually lively halls of their dorms when they left their rooms for food.

Today was the same, with Hades still in her room. She was still sad about seeing Jake and Chaewon together, and even though they had done their best to cheer up Hades, along with Rei, she had become unresponsive, only replying to Sei whenever the eldest texted the leader to make sure she was still alive. Rei was also in somewhat of a slump, but she was doing better. As Y/N had come out of the shower, she overheard Rei and Nadia on the phone with Riki and Eunchae, discussing going to an arcade later on in the day.

Sei seemed to be holding up okay, and Y/N could recall the white-haired girl giggling and talking in a hushed tone around 2am on Saturday. Still, she could tell Sei wasn’t telling them everything; not at least with her personal life. But that was understandable.

“Alright, I'm leaving! Don’t text me unless someone’s dead or Iseul-oppa is getting married!” She yelled as she slipped on her shoes. She was dressed incognito, sweats with a zipped up hoodie and sunglasses. She had her bag with her wallet and HYBE ID, along with a water bottle and some other things. She stands, grabbing her keys off the wall.

When she opens the door, ready to be out of their dorms, she’s met with Sunghoon standing in front of her, seconds from knocking. Both parties freeze, unsure of the situation at hand. Y/N, however, is the first to recover, and she pushes him out of the way, pulling the door closed and sticking her key into the hole to lock it. When she’s finished, she leaves, not acknowledging his presence at all. He recovers quickly after though, and runs after her, calling her name out. She didn't pay him any mind until they got to the lobby. She whips around, and he almost stumbles back at the sudden action.

“What the hell do you want, Park?” Y/N demands, and Sunghoon's heart clenches at the use of his last name.

“Look, I'm sorry for whatever I did, alright? You've been icing me out the past few days, and it sucks. So i'm here to apologize.” Y/N scoffs, shaking her head.

“You sound so condescending. ‘Oh you didn't pay attention to me so i’m here to beg for forgiveness.’ Get out of my face.” Y/N turns, but he grabs her wrist. She looks at him, and notices he has on her jacket from that day.

“Please.” He pleads of her. “I really don't know-”

“You laughed at me!” She pulled her arm away. “You laughed at that insult your ex made about me on live television!" The look on his face when Y/N said 'your ex' and not Chaewon added fuel to her fire. "You laughed like it was funny, like she was right! So yeah, I'm not talking to you right now, deal with it.”

“What? No, wait.” Y/N turns on the heels of her feet. Sunghoon rushes after her. “Y/N, please. I was trying to ease the tension, I didn't know what to say!” Y/N stopped at the door, not turning around. “Please. I don't want us to-”

“There is no us!” Y/N snarls. “There never was an us! We were never a real thing, this whole thing was nothing but a publicity ploy. Get over yourself, because both of us know it was never real.” She ignores the tears filling her eyes and pushes the door open, leaving Sunghoon standing there.

And unknown to both parties was the fact that Choi Chaewon was sitting in the lobby, and overheard every part of their conversation.

Hades was in the kitchen when there was a knock at the door. She looked at her phone confused before looking back at the door; Y/N hadn't texted her and Nadia and Rei had only left a few minutes ago. She checked the mirror near the door, making sure she looked alright. She walked over to the door, unlocking it and opening it.

Jake stood there, fidgeting with his chain around his neck. He looks almost surprised, as if he was expecting someone else. Hades swallows hardly despite nothing being in her throat. Slowly, she closed the door in his face, hand still on the knob. She stood there for a second, before opening the door again, looking at him in confusion.

“Uh-” She starts, but Jake cuts her off before she can say anything.

“I wasn't doing anything with Chaewon.” He says. “She came to my room to, i don't know, start something, but i pushed her off and you came and then-” Hades puts her hand over Jake’s mouth, and he stops speaking immediately. While the curly haired girl wears a blank expression, she feels like the weight of the world has been lifted off of her; Even if there was a chance he was lying, it didn't make sense. Why come all the way over here to explain to her, they had barely even interacted alone? She voices that exact question as she removes her hand from his mouth. He fidgets with the rings on his fingers, avoiding eye contact.

“I just, I didn't want you to get the wrong idea.” He explains, looking at her. “I really-” He stops, cheeks reddening. “I just think you're cool, and I didn't want you to get the wrong impression; I don't like Chaewon at all.” Hades is quiet for a while, processing the things he just told her.

“Well, thank you. For explaining.” She says slowly. “And I also think you're cool.” She adds, heat rushing to her face. Then she notices his hand behind his back, eyebrows furrowing. “ What's that?” She gestures to it, and he almost glitches, face turning redder by the second. He pulls a bouquet of pink Hydrangeas from behind his back, heading them to her; Her favorite type of flower. “How did you-”

“I asked Heeseung to ask Sei.” He says, and for some reason he sounds breathless. “I would really like to be friends with you, Hades.” Hades smiles at him, a soft sigh leaving her.

“I’d like that, Jake.”

A/N. ....please understand i am in as much pain as yall🙁 but rei + eunaki hangout? love that for them my babies🫶🏾 and jades friendship we love

It wasn't exactly convenient that two members of the group weren't speaking as they were preparing for their comeback. Today, especially. They would be appearing on Music Bank again for their half year special, as they were one of the first place winners this year. Nadia was okay now, or at least better. She wouldn't look Rei in the eye, though, and since they were next to each other in the official line up, it was an issue.

“Okay, can Sei stand next to Nadia instead?” Manager Iseul had asked them as they prepared backstage. Sei, who had just finished getting her necklace latched around her neck, stayed silent until the staff had exited the room.

“I'm fine with that, but wasn't the point in doing the official order so that new fans could learn our faces. It doesn't take a dumbass to tell me and Rei apart, but some people think Yoongi sunbaenim and J-Hope sunbaenim look alike.” With that, she glanced at their leader, who huffed as she cleared her curly hair out of her face.

“In my defense, they at the time looked very similar! And she's right. I would rather make sure everyone is comfortable and okay with it, but we're still a relatively new group.” She looked over to Nadia, who's eyes were focused on her DS, not playing any of them any mind.

“It would be preferred right now if the two switched.” He frowned, and Hades and Sei both nodded.

“So, Des.” Y/N called for her leader’s attention as Iseul left. “Are you excited to see your Jakey up close?” The younger girl teased, and Hades rolled her eyes despite the smile on her face that appeared on her face. ENHYPEN had also won first place this year, and they would be standing next to each other.

“He's not mine.” She denied. “But hopefully he will be soon.” She grinned, toying with her necklace. Sei squealed excitedly, spinning the younger girl’s chair around to face her. Y/N jumped off the couch and joined her.

“Are you gonna ask him out today?” Sei asked, both of her hands on Hades’s shoulders. While the two of them interrogated Hades, Rei had left the room unannounced. She found herself in front of Wonyoung’s prep room, knocking on it twice. The aforementioned girl opened the door, and Rei grinned, but the smile quickly dropped when she saw Wonyoung’s serious expression.

“Come in. I think we should talk.” Wonyoung had said, opening the door wider so she could enter. Once she did, she closed the door behind her, locking it so no one would accidently walk in.”When were you gonna tell me Nadia liked me?” She questioned the white-haired girl. After the two had been caught by the maknae, Nadia left nothing unsaid. Including the fact that she had liked Wonyoung. “No wonder you were so okay with me not wanting anyone to know, you were hiding shit from me and her!”

“I never told you because it wasn't my place to tell you about her crush.” Rei said, sitting down. Wonyoung walked over to stand in front of her, arm crossed.

“But it was your place to date me? Knowing she liked me?” Wonyoung’s voice rises, and her cheeks start getting redder. When Rei doesn't answer, Wonyoung shakes her head, walking over to her bag, digging through it. She walks back over to the girl, dropping a necklace Rei had gotten her for their first month anniversary into her lap. “Look, I care about you alot, I love you. But that is such a shitty thing for you to do. That's not something the rei i know, or i thought i knew, would do. I can't be with a liar.” Wonyoung's voice quivers, and she sits next to her. The two sit there, Wonyoung crying while Rei stares at the wall in front of the two. Wonyoung gulps, leaning in to kiss Rei’s cheek, but she stands up, gripping the necklace. She goes towards the door, not looking back.

“I’m sorry, Wonyoung.” Is all she says, still not facing her, before leaving the room. She makes it around the corner before she stops, leaning against the wall, sliding down it. Before she could fully process it, tears were streaming down her face. She put her hand over her mouth to try to stop the sounds from leaving her mouth, not wanting anyone to hear her. In the entire time she had been with the group, since the group was put together, nobody had ever seen her cry. Sei had joked she took Ariana Grande’s ‘No Tears Left to Cry.’ too seriously. She hears someone coming around the corner and stands up, wiping away her tears before plastering a smile onto her face. And turning the corner is no one other than Choi Chaewon.

“Sorry,” Chaewon says as she bumps into the girl, an innocent look on her face. Rei shakes her head, muttering an apology. Unbeknownst to Rei, Chaewon was standing outside of Wonyoung's room the entire time, Rei too distressed to notice her. “Do you know which way the Vevila dressing rooms are?” She asked, doe-eyed. Rei sniffs.

“Uh, the way you just came from, around the corner to the left. I have to use the bathroom.” She said monotone before turning around. Chaewon smirked as she watched the taller girl rush away.

“One down, four more to go.” Chaewon said happily as she skipped towards the dressing rooms. The door was cracked, not enough for them to see someone standing outside but enough for Chaewon to peek in.

“You're gonna ask Jake-oppa out right now?” Nadia asked, sitting criss crossed on the couch facing her leader.

“After I fixed my earrings, they're stuck on my dress.” She sighed, trying to unhook it without damaging the dress. Chaewon frowned, moving away from the door, heading back to her dressing room. Once there, she paced across her room. Hades confessing to Jake was not part of her plan. But with every error calls for room to improvise. Since Sunghoon wanted to play hard to get, it would hate for her to flirt with his members anyways.

Making her way to Jake’s dressing room, she was relieved to see Hades wasn't there. Quickly, she knocked on the door, smiling sweetly when he opened the door. When he realizes it's not staff or one of the boys, but instead Chaewon, he grimaces, closing the door in her face. However, Chaewon put her hand on the door, stopping it from closing completely. He sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose.

“What the hell do you want, devil?” He stares at her deadpan, and she fake giggles, pushing the door open and stepping in. Jake stumbles back, surprised by the sudden amount of force.

“We need to talk, Jake-oppa. I have a secret i need to tell you.” She closes the door, stepping closer to him. He checks his watch, frowning.

“I really don't have time for that, but thanks.” He goes to pass her, but she stops him. Smiling, she pushes him back.

“No no, I really need to tell you. Ever since me and Sunghoon broke up, I started having these feelings-” She starts, but he pushes her back. She stumbles, and he dusts himself off.

“Just no, okay? I don't know what sick game you're trying to play with Sunghoon, or the Vevila girls, but you won't have me being caught up in it; Sunghoon already told me what you tried and Ni-Ki already told us what evil shit you've done.” Just as he finishes, there's a knock at the door. Before Jake can blink, Chaewon is at the door. She only needed to stall, anyways. She was playing chess, it doesn't matter if they thought they were beating her at checkers. Opening the door, she sees Hades standing there.

Hades looks confused, glancing at Jake in the room and Chaewon in front of her. When Jake had pushed her off earlier, her jacket ended up being crumpled, hair flipped differently then it was style. Hades looked back at Jake, who looked red, with his clothes somewhat wrinkled from Chaewon pushing him against the wall. Hades looked back at Chaewon, who smirked at her. Without saying a word, she turns around and heads back to the dressing room. Chaewon grins at him.

“Have a good day, Jakey.” She says, walking off. He sighs, grabbing his phone and opening Sunghoon’s contact. While he didn't want Hades to assume or misunderstand, knowing Chaewon, whatever she was doing, he wanted to be the one to tell him, before she could twist it into something else.

Meanwhile, Hades made her way to the rooms, bumping into Rei on her way. It was clear she was crying, but her makeup was fixed and she was trying to fake a smile.

“Hades, are you okay?” Rei asked, and Hades softened at hearing how cracked her voice sounds. Like she had been screaming at a wall. The past week had sucked, and because they all had been comforting Nadia, they had iced out Rei. And while Hades knew that there was more to the story than what Rei told Nadia, she hadn't stopped to ask her.

“I'm fine.” The leader says, wiping away a tear she didn't realize had fallen. “Come on, the show's about to start.” She sped up for pace to the room. Later, she would ask Rei what's wrong. Right now, it was time to plaster on a smile and be the leader they needed.

Sunghoon sighed as he waited in the lobby for the car to come. They just finished filming for Music Bank, and after a brief, and frankly annoying conversation with the producers of the show - who had gotten a call from Chaewon’s dad, as he felt Sunghoon's attitude had depleted almost as soon as they started working together. He had mainly smiled and nodded, adding in a, ‘Yes, i understand completely.’ or ‘It won't happen again.’ every now and then.

To be honest, he really didn't give a fuck, especially knowing that Choi Hyunwoo would have never even bothered to watch the show had his daughter not influenced him somehow. When he saw the car arrive, he waved goodbye to the security guard standing in the corner, before stepping outside. The crowds from earlier had dispensed greatly, almost nobody in front of the building when he got outside. He had opened the door, pushed his bag in the car and greeted the driver, when he heard someone yelling his name. And he recognized the sugary-sweet voice, all too well.

“Sunghoon! Hoonie! Hoonie.” Choi Chaewon yelled for his attention, and he quickly apologized to the driver for the noise and the wait. He has his foot in the car, ready to pull himself in when he feels a tug on his arm. It's so rough and unexpected, he almost topples over, taking a second to straighten himself out, catching his balance. He turns around, bewildered, to be met with Chaewon. She was 5’8, pretty close to his own height, but there was still a reasonable space between them. She wears a grin, but he can see the look in her eyes. He sighed, giving her a plain expression.

“Hoonie, you didn't hear me? I was calling for you from the building!” She asks, and he visibly rolls his eyes. What he doesn't see is the way her eyes narrow, and how her hand tightens around her purse. “Anyways, my car is running late and won't be around for another hour, so my manager canceled it and asked me to ask you if you could give me a ride.” She smiles sweetly, and he stares back with a deadpan expression.

“No.” With that, he steps into the car, adjusting himself in his seat and putting on his seatbelt. He didn't wanna deal with her anymore then he had to, plus he didn't want his driver to have to drive all around Seoul playing taxi. He goes to grab the door to pull it close, but Chaewon’s hand is already on it, holding it open. He narrows his eyes at her, cocking his head. “Choi, I already told you no.”

“But I won't have a car for another hour! And I have to be home soon! And what happened to Chaewon?” She asks coyly, but he can tell by the way the areas around her eyes crinkle that she's lying. In the last few months of their relationship, it was one of the many things he picked up on.

“Considering I don't like you and we aren't friends, nor are we on air, I have no reason to call you by your first name. And I don't care. Your manager should've let the car come.” By no circumstances would he let Chaewon ride in the same car as him. He did not want to be around her any more than he had to. Maybe he was being cold, and an asshole, but he wouldn't let her use her tricks to get back into his better grace. Manipulation was one of Chaewon's personality traits, and she couldn't stop it or lie about it if she tried.

“But my dorms are on the way to yours! And I don't even know wha-” Chaewon doesn't finish her sentence, because Sunghoon apologizes to the driver, asking him to wait for five more minutes. He steps out of the car, shutting the door. He inhales deeply, trying to calm down. He thinks of Y/N, her smile, her hands around his own, her jacket, lying on his bed at home, Y/N, Ni-ki and Nadia waiting for him at the girl's dorms. He smiles in his head, then looks at Chaewon.

“Firstly, No means no, and it's very obvious you still have not grasped that concept since we broke up. Second, I don't owe you shit! The fact i didn't publicly air out how you cheated on me and manipulated me and all the fucked up things you did in our relationship. I have been ever so kind to you, considering everything. And thirdly, even if i didn't hate your guts, even if i found kindness in my heart to share a car, i’m not going the way to my dorms. I’m going somewhere else, which is none of your business.”

“So we broke up and you finally grew a pair. Congratulations!” She says, clapping sarcastically. And the princess mask has fallen off, showing her true colors. “Honestly, since you wanna go there, I cheated on you because you were so focused on your career and not me! And you always claim I manipulated you, but I never did that. And the fact you want to gaslight me into thinking I did is real funny.” She states, and he can't even look at her, looking behind her at the building, picturing Y/N.

“I never focused on you? My performance lacked in several areas because I was catering to your every want and need, every beck and call! I focused on my career because we had a comeback coming up, and I didn't want to lose my job! When you went weeks without talking to me, for no reason at all, I said nothing! I never held it against you or got mad! I was patient with you! But when I was at one of my lowest points, and you knew this, you pushed me further down the hole! And it's really rich that you learned what the word gaslight meant and ran with it, because you gaslit me our entire relationship! Everytime i wanted to hang out with my friends, my members, you claimed I never loved you! If a girl was in the same room as us you would go nuts! So don't tell me I gaslit you, or I never cared about you.” Sunghoon shouldn't be getting emotional about this. He was fine now. It had been some time, and he no longer cared. But the more time he spent around Chaewon peeled the scab off it more and more.

But then there was Y/N. Y/N who put a bandaid over it and kissed it, Y/N who he dreamed about, y/N who made him smile with stupid chemistry jokes and telling embarrassing stories. Y/N, who wasn't really his girlfriend. Who was just enough in his grasp for his fingertips to reach out, but just out his reach. Y/N, who didn’t want anything from him but for him to be himself, to show up.

“Don't ever say that,” He says with tears in his eyes. “Because even after you broke my heart, I loved you. Even when you screamed you hated me, you told all your friends I was terrible and annoying and everything you said about me that Eunji told me, I was head over heels. You asked for me to change and I thought nothing of it! I was willing to kill off every part of the real me, to follow you off a cliff you were never on. So you don't have the right to ever say something like that. Have the day you deserve, Choi.” With that, he opens the door, shutting it and telling the driver to go as he wiped his tears.

Chaewon watched the car pull off, sighing when it disappeared. She opened her purse, pulling out a tape recorder, stopping it. She looked back to where the car had turned, then turned her attention to the car pulling up to the curb. The driver jumps out, apologizing for being late, but she waves him off, waiting for him to open the door. He does, and she steps in, buckling her seatbelt as he closes the door. She looks at the tape recorder, shaking her head.

“God, Hoonie. We could've done this so easy, so quick and painless. But you want to be stubborn So, now I have to get my hands dirty.” She pulls out her phone, typing in a few letters before the contact pops up. She taps it and presses the phone to her ear. It rings once, and only once before it's picked up. “Hello? Hi, yes. I want you to leak that story about Y/N L/N. Yes, I'm sure. No, not that one. The second one. Let's make this fun." She ends the call, and tells the driver to pull off.

It was always easier for them to talk things out. At the end of the day, all they had were each other.

After they came home from the show, after they showered and changed, they gathered in the living room, taking a moment to finally talk things out. Rei explained everything in full detail, and apologized. She also admitted that Wonyoung broke up with her, and while it hurt, she knew it was what was best. She would be okay, but losing her best friend was something that she never wanted to happen. Nadia listened to what she had to say with interruptions. She admitted that she was still very hurt by what Rei did, but she understood Rei never meant to hurt her. The two came to an agreement that they would work back into their friendship, though Hades and Sei could tell that they would be alright by the end of the week. It just how they were, anyways.

Nadia and Sei also came clean about Chaewon, telling Y/N about Sunghoon’s evil ex girlfriend. The lead dancer scoffed, crossing her arms in disbelief. Everything was making sense now. Hades also added how she caught Chaewon and Jake earlier. Sei hugged Hades closely, while Nadia laid her head in her lap. Y/N offered her some twizzlers, and the leader took them, ripping off a piece and chewing it.

After talking, and it was a lot of talking, the girls banded together and begged asked their manager if they could go out to celebrate both their 100 day milemark, but also the fact that they were finally okay. Well, not really. They were good with each other though, and that's what mattered the most to all of them.

“Don’t do this today.” Sunghoon says when he sees Chaewon standing at the door. “Please, I do not have the energy to do this right now.”

“I’m not here for that, okay?” Chaewon says, just as he's about to close the door. “I need to talk to you, okay? No bullshit.” Sunghoon stands there for a second, before rubbing his face as he sighs, letting go of the door and allowing her to step inside. They pass by Riki, Eunchae, and Nadia. The three maknaes' eyes followed the pair as they went into his room, before he closed the door.

“Look, if this is about the whole fake relationship thing with Y/N, it wasn’t like-” Sunghoon starts as they both sit, him on the edge of his bed and Chaewon at the seat at his desk but she stops him. She opens her bag, pulling out a tape recorder, long with a folder. She hands him both, and he takes them, looking at them confused. She inhales deeply, her hands gripping her knees.

“The tape recorder has some of our conversations recorded.” She whispers. “I kept them to hear your voice after we broke up. And the folder has photos of us together.” Sunghoon cocks his head.

“I don’t understand? Why are you giving these to me?” He questions.

“I’m letting you go.” Chaewon says the words he’s been waiting for since they broke up. “I’m giving you any trace of our relationship so I can finally move on.” He sets both items down, looking at her. “I’m sorry. I'm sorry for cheating on you and being toxic and neglecting you, for not letting go sooner and holding on to the ghost of something that died before it started. I’m sorry for sabotaging you and your relationship. I’m sorry for all of it. I wish I could give you a real fair reason why I did what I did. Not just now, but in general. I will always love you, you know?” Chaewon expresses as she messes with her fingers. “You were like my first love, but I have to let you go. Not just for you, but for me too. I don’t gain anything from being hung up on you. Nobody earns anything from it here.” She finishes, exhaling as if she had been holding that in for too long. For a few minutes, they sit in silence. Then, Sunghoon speaks.

“I’m sorry too.” He confesses, and she furrows her eyebrows at him. “At the end of the day, I can only blame you so much, because I knew you weren’t good for me, and I stayed. Or I left and went right back. And yeah, maybe I could blame you for that too, but I know that I was aware of everything, and I still did it. So I'm as at fault as you were when it comes to my state after we broke up.” She nods, not like she's agreeing, but like she’s understanding. “What changed, though? Not like i want to keep doing this bullshit, but-” He shrugs, pushing his hair out of his face. “This is random.”

“Uh, someone gave me the reality check I needed.” He nods. “I’ll always love you, as I said before. But love doesn’t do the things I did to you, and love wouldn’t keep doing this to you.”

“Yeah. And I think a part of me will always love you too. Or at least, the memory of you, and what we had. The good, the bad, the grey.” He picks at his cuticle. “So thank you, because you letting go means I can let go, fully.” She nods, and they both stand up. She adjusts her bag, and looks to Sunghoon, to see he has his arms open. She leans into the embrace. For a moment, Sunghoon sees them. Who they used to be, anyways. He was freshly debuted, she was his sunbae by a year; Before everything else, he sees them. He sees why he kept running back. He feels like the time he had broken his toe once during figure skating. The months after, how it took so long to heal, but how it was back stronger and healthier after it healed. She pulls away, fixing her jacket. She smiles, and he gets the chance to look her in her eyes.

Some people say that the eyes are a window to the soul, to all the memories. And he sees how broken she is. He sees every single moment in her eyes, every experience that made her or broke her. He clasps her hands between his own, and she looks at him, startled. He squeezes them, smiling softly back at her. Forgiveness was always easier for him. So, despite everything that’s happened, he chooses to forgive, and in that moment, he lets go.

“It’s okay.” He whispers, and she swallows, tears building up in her eyes. She pulls her hands away, whispering a small thank you, before heading to exit the room. She pulls the door open, and Riki, Nadia, and Eunchae straighten up, trying to act as if they weren’t clearly listening in on their conversation. She nods her head to them, passing them and leaving. They wait until they hear the door close to move. Riki goes into the room, hugging Sunghoon. The older boy is caught off guard, but he hugs him anyway. Soon after, Eunchae and Nadia join the hug, and Sunghoon doesn’t miss the way their hands intertwine. After, he kicks them out, telling them to order something for dinner so Sakura and Sei didn’t gut him alive for starving them. He grabs the folder and tape recorder; he doesn’t need to look at it. He drops them in the trashcan near his desk and grabs his laptop. He opens HBO Max, searching until he finds Euphoria and turns it open, He grabs Y/N’s jacket and puts it on before laying down.

Sunghoon always thought if he was any Euphoria character, it would be Ethan. But maybe he was Rue. Going back to something because it felt safe, and without it, you were vulnerable. Hooked to something that wasn’t good for him. But in the end, he chose his life. And whether Chaewon was the drugs or Jules maybe, he couldn’t tell, but he didn’t need to. Either way, he was free from the pain of it. And maybe some part of him would miss it. Would miss it because it was all he had ever known. But he was willing to let it go, because that meant that when something amazing was right in fromt of him, he wouldn't mess up. Not again.
