The Bug Fables Wiki has Migrated to Miraheze!
TL;DR: If you're looking for the Bug Fables wiki, please use the Miraheze version instead! The Fandom wiki's maintenance is no longer being actively supported, and it should not be even visited.
The longer notice: The Bug Fables wiki is off Fandom for good! This has been a long time in the making, and it is overall a positive change. The Miraheze wiki is fully functional and better than the Fandom wiki was previously, with no ads, better formatting, and an active team helping to maintain and correct information. If you're reading this and would like to help out, by all means! You can always join the official Bug Fables Discord server and ask around in the wiki-spoilers channel, but it's also possible to simply use the Talk pages to communicate with wiki editors.
Now that the wiki is on Miraheze, the Fandom wiki will receive only very minor edits where necessary, if ever. However, do not vandalize the Fandom wiki. Beyond vandalism generally being unhelpful, any visitation to the Fandom wiki improves Search Engine Optimization (SEO) of the Fandom wiki, pushing it higher in search results and thus burying the Miraheze wiki. We want the new Miraheze wiki to be higher than the Fandom wiki in search results so traffic gets directed there, so even vandalism benefits Fandom in the end. Simply do not engage, do not click, pretend it doesn't exist.
The Bug Fables wiki has also been registered in Indie Wiki Buddy, an extension that automatically redirects away from Fandom wikis to indie wikis or a wiki mirror. It's recommended to click on the indie wiki directly yourself, but in case the indie wiki has poor SEO, this can help direct you to it. To reiterate: do not engage with the Fandom wiki. Fandom's monopoly over the wiki scene contributes significantly to the SEO of Fandom wikis, and every click counts, so spend them elsewhere.
Regardless, the migration has completed, but there's always work to be done. Whether you're just a wiki user or looking to help out with editing, I hope to see you on the new Miraheze wiki :)

a new iconoclasts wiki, and other such things
hey y'all! i've kept it quiet for a while, but... for the past few months, myself and a few friends have been working on a miraheze wiki! it's still in its infancy, but i'm really excited to "announce" it to y'all.
the reason for creating it is simple: the fandom wiki fucking sucks. it's riddled with misinformation, poorly organized, lacks references, and most importantly... it's moderated and primarily written by a far-right weirdo. i hesitate to sling the word "fascist" around online, but foxgloveactual (also known as agent orange in the official iconoclasts server), the administrator and largest contributor, is well-known for being closely involved with free fur all, the far right furry convention.
frankly, i got tired of butting heads with foxglove both in the server and over the fandom wiki, so i made my own. with the wiki in place and being worked on, i hope that with time we can surpass the fandom wiki and become a safer, more reliable source for information about iconoclasts' lore and development.

If anyone who have experience with miraheze could help me a little about template I'd love it, cause I can't tell if it's language barrier, dyslexia or both that makes me not understand what I'm reading on the dev wiki. I just don't get what I'm seeing on my screen lol

i was tired and fed up with fandom wiki's bullshit so i'd like to make it known that there is now a miraheze alternative to the postal fandom wiki available here.
it would genuinely mean the world to me if people could contribute. anything at all would work as long as we're eventually able to get away from fandom wiki due to how things have taken a turn for the worst with them.

first -- I've been searching "ever after high miraheze wiki" for AGES and our wiki has never pulled up, but now we're the first FOUR results before we hit another unrelated wiki that isn't ours!!!!!!
AND we sort in priority ABOVE fandom wiki for they storybook of legends and shannon hale books!!!!!!!
I'm just really excited because I've been working on this wiki kind of nonstop for weeks <333 and it's finally coming to something!!!! progress is slow but we're making it!!!!

Murder Fabrication is now on Miraheze!
From today on, Murder Fabrication's Wiki pages will be hosted on this brand new Wiki:
For years, Murder Fabrication's Wiki pages were hosted on the Danganronpa Fanfiction Wiki on Fandom. In an effort to leave Fandom, I have decided to make my own Wiki, but I remain thankful to the admins of the DRFF Wiki for inspiring me to write Wiki pages about my own story in the first place.
Much of the way pages and templates are presented is inspired by the way the DRFF Wiki does it. Though most of my pages will be deleted from the Fandom Wiki, I will leave some info as a basic introduction to Murder Fabrication, that links to the current Wiki.
On this new Wiki, you will find:
Pages about the stories I write as part of the Murder Fabrication universe and pages about their characters, as was already the case on Fandom.
Newly completed iterations of some of those pages! Characters who are long dead are no longer WIPs. If you've already read Murder Fabrication up to its most recent update, don't hesitate to scour the Wiki for refreshers and trivia.
Danganronpa Fabricated Despair. This Wiki is now the place where you can read this AU!
The Halloween and Valentine's Day events. Same as above!
Galleries of images I or other people have drawn of the characters, as was already the case on Fandom.
Links to semi-secret bonus side stories, as was already the case on Fandom.
I will continue to update the Wiki as the stories continue. Of course, the Wiki is complementary to the main story, which you should read first and foremost! Thank you so much to everyone who pays attention to Murder Fabrication and everything I create around it.
I worked very hard on this Wiki and I hope it can be a good source of information for anyone who's interested in Murder Fabrication~

Hi apologies if this has been asked before but do you have any advice for anyone else who wants to make an independent wiki? me and a lot of other people are getting sick and tired of our fandom wikia especially with how much information is on it and I was looking for advice
Hi changeling-droneco, that is a wonderful question! We will answer the best that we can and offer our own journey into being independent. For this first part, we will assume that you'd be hosting the wiki yourself.
As with most things, running an independent wiki by your lonesome costs money, which can increase depending on the size and scope of the wiki. You'll want a solid income to fall back on. For us, our overseer pays for all of the hosting, servers and domain out of pocket. Other independent wikis might also run non-obtrusive ads, typically on the main page only, or rely completely on donations.
You, or someone you know, needs to have the technical expertise necessary to manage and maintain a server. You also need to have the storage space necessary to host all the wiki pages and files. For us, we're on a virtual server with 800k individual files allocated to us.
If this is not an option for you, there are alternatives! One is Miraheze, which an ad-free, donation-run, open-source wikifarm run entirely by volunteers. Unlike company that shall not be named, Miraheze allows you to practically do everything you could do if you were hosting by yourself without all the obtrusiveness. One thing to note is that Miraheze wikis need to remain active. If there are no edits in a certain timeframe, the wiki will be marked as inactive, which can be negated by making an edit.
There are also other independent wiki or wiki alliances that can assist greatly! You'll want to look towards the Nintendo Independent Wiki Alliance and the Gaming Wiki Network. These groups are experienced with running wikis and will definitely be able to help and answer any of the intricacies involved with running a wiki. You'd want to join their Discord communities for further information; they'll be incredibly happy to work with you and we're proud to be a part of both, as an affiliate and a member respectively!
We hope that this helps out and that our words inspire others to look towards starting their own independent wikis! It is never too late to begin the fight against the company the shall not be named.
