Spirit Weapons AU
Soul Eater meets Miraculous Ladybug meets TMNT.
Summary:
In an alternate reality where the Resistance fails very early on, the other leaders decide to seal the turtles' souls in their weapons and send them back in time to guide their younger selves. However, in her haste, Renet severely miscalculates.
In another world, when Hamato Yoshi escapes following the battle between him and Oroku Saki, he takes with him a photo of his family and four soul-possessed mystic weapons that have been passed down the clan for generations.
==
Takes place in S1 EP1 of TMNT 12, this AU is a What-If scenario in which the Rise turtles' souls are bounded to their weapons and sent across space and time, resulting in the 2012 turtles having both mystic abilities and four new chaotic mentors that happen to be older alternate versions of themselves from an apocalyptic future.
Longer Description Below
An AU where the Resistance fails very early on and Future Rise souls are transferred into their weapons in hopes of guiding their past selves to prevent the apocalypse. Instead of Mikey, the Rise version of Renet sends them back in time but miscalculates, sending them to Feudal Japan of the 2012 universe.
The weapons are enchanted to respond to only the turtles' souls (but unbeknownst to anyone, any version of the turtles), and so their souls and mystic abilities have remained dormant for generations. The weapons end up in the hands of a man whose descendant would later found the ninja clan Hamato, and the weapons became priceless heirlooms passed down the family from generation to generation.
Following the battle with Oroku Saki, Hamato Yoshi escapes with a photo of his family and the set of weapons that are considered the pride of the Hamato Clan. Several years later, a mutated Splinter allows his teenage sons to wield the weapons as a test of worth before he lets them go to the surface. He expects his sons to prove themselves as Hamato ninjas, not a multi-coloured light show, the bursts of powerful magic and the reveal that his clan's heirlooms have hosted the souls of his sons from another universe.

So my post about the lack of formal/informal pronouns in english kinda took off?
And it started bleeding into other fandoms such as.
Miraculous Ladybug
Les Mis
Old english / Shakespear
Linguistic tumblr
Feudal Japan novels and shows
And apparently I poked a wasps nest and this issue was well discussed and strongly opinionated in these spaces. I feel like I just stumble into fandom drama 👀

Past of both Series
Did you know that one of the past holders of the Ladybug miraculous was a kunoichi assassin of feudal Japan named Tentomushi? Maybe you can work that into your story? Maybe she can have some sort of connection to the Norisu Nine or their clan? Or maybe she'll know about the Sorcerer since he originally attacked her home before moving to Norrisville. Speaking of which, do any of the French students know by now of the history of the Sorcerer and how he turns people into monsters?
~~~
Definitely wasn't aware of this, but that might be something worth going over if not in my story, then maybe in someone else's. Honestly, I don't know how many past wielders there are since the writers seem to throw out quite a lot of them, but I did have an idea for one of the Butterfly wielders already presented in the story.
As for whether or not the Parisians know about the Sorcerer, given how it's strictly local to Norrisville, I can't imagine that many of the Parisians knowing much about Norrisville's history. That said, some may have at least heard of the Sorcerer and people like Alya may have done their research on the Norrisville Ninja as well as his enemies.
Yashahime meta/analysis
Will Kirinowa become a thing (part 1)?
So after watching the last episode of Yashahime I decided to write my own meta/analysis about who the main couple from Yashahime will be. And before antis will jump at my throat, I will say that I don’t condone pedophilia in any way, shape or form. But just like Sesshomaru and Rin, I think Kirinmaru and Towa will become a couple in the future or at the end of Yashahime (when Towa will be of age). Below I will explain why I think so. 1) Their first appearance:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So Towa first appears in episode 1 of the series and the first shot of her it's her back. Then in the next shot her face, it's obscured to the viewers, with a small point/circle of light on her right cheek, while her left cheek it's illuminated by the light. Also, she appears in a submissive position (kneeling and with her hands tied behind her back). As for Kirinmaru, the first shot of him (in episode 7) it's sitting on a chair like a throne. When his face, it's shown, the first thing it's shown, it's his mask which covers his face, with the exception of his left eye which it's like a black hole. In the last shot, his left eye, it's shown, with the left side of his face covered in shadow, while the right side (which represents his true self... more on that in part 2) it's illuminated by the moonlight. Also something to point that here, it's the fact that Kirinmaru made his official appearance during a night with a crescent moon. The crescent moon being the symbol of the dog demon clan. So when they are first introduced, they are in opposite position to each other. Also it’s a coincidence that Kirinmaru’s left eye was the only one shown through most of season one, while Towa’s left eye was the place where the silver pearl was and will start to glow when she used the power of the pearl? As opposite to Kirinmaru’s first shot of his left eye which seemed like a black hole. 2) The eye color:  So, according to the color wheel, the opposite color to green it's red. Kirinmaru does have green eyes while Towa does have red eyes. This is another element that puts them in contrast to each other. Coincidence or foreshadowing? 3) The chinese astrology: So, according to Chinese zodiac’s relationships, certain animal signs are highly compatible and harmonize well together, while others find it impossible to get along with each other no matter how hard they try. One of the incompatible pair it's the dragon and the dog. So in episode 5, when Myoga was talking about Kirinmaru, he appeared as being depicted as a dragon (in Myoga's flashback...which was more like a mural picture than an actual representation).   And as of the last episode of season 1, it was pretty confirmed that Kirinmaru's true form it's that of a dragon. 4) First meeting in the feudal era Their first meeting it’s rather peculiar, to say the least. So first of all I would like to bring up the fact that this is the first episode since he appeared in the series, that find Kirinmaru outside in the broad daylight, unlike the other episodes where he was seen in a dark room. So Towa and co. are chasing the last loser (sorry, I meant peril),Totetsu, who runs to seas to get help from his superior, Kirinmaru. Of course Kirinamru is not happy about the uninvited guests, so after he uses a psionic attack on his underling and threatens him, his underling makes himself scarce pretty fast. As soon as his underling it's out of the picture, his attention it's focused on the girls.
Tumblr media
Well, and this is where it gets a little bit nonsensical, to say the least. Kirinmaru uses another psionic attack to knock down the girls from Takechiyo's back and Moroha still ask him who he is.  😑 I don't see the sense of this question since he attacked them. I mean it's pretty obviously at this point who he is. Well, after this moment that made no sense to me, whatsoever, Towa asks him about the dream butterfly (since in the last episode Konton told them that the dream butterfly was designated by Kirinmaru... and Towa took it at face value, no questions asked). Of course, Kirinmaru doesn't oblige with a reply, so Towa uses her best weapon for feudal era....talk-no-jutsu (because this helped her so much in the past 😒), trying to convince Kirinmaru return the dreams and the sleep to Setsuna.
Tumblr media
So I think every watcher out there had this face when Towa used talk-no-jutsu on Kirinmaru. Followed by an argument between the girls where Setsuna and Moroha didn't want to engage Kirinmaru because there was no reward for them. Up to this point only Towa wanted to solve the matter of the dream butterfly. Kirinmaru, who, at some point had enough of their bullshit, challenge them to a fight (due to the prophecy), even if Towa it's reluctant to fight him (due to her pacifist nature). Moroha and Setsuna are taken out pretty easily, while Towa it's the last one to face him and manage to leave him with a souvenir, until she it's also defeated. I won’t enter in details regarding the fight between Sesshomaru and Kirinmaru because is not important (maybe only the final of their fight). What I found strange about this episode is that Kirinmaru mostly acts like a teacher rather than an enemy. During the fight, he comments on the girls's weaknesses and uses very weak attacks (compared to what he uses in episode 24). 5) Osamu Kirin
Tumblr media
So because of the fact that Towa always got in fights, while in the modern era, she changed schools often. Osamu Kirin it's the goofball English teacher (and homeroom teacher) from the christian academy Saint Gabriel (Saint Gabriel it's a saint in both the orthodox and catholic religion and the both of them are religious christian minorities in Japan, so yeah....), the last school where Towa got enrolled before she left in the feudal era. Their encounters are pretty brief. The first time, when Towa arrives late at her classes, he keeps her after school and say something pretty strange to her: When in Rome, do as the romans do.  Meaning that if you are in an unfamiliar place, you should behave like how the people behave there. And the second time when he tells Towa to stop daydreaming and to focus in classes. The first one was an useful advice for Towa since she went to the feudal era and had problems adapting there. And also he was the only teacher who didn't call Towa's adoptive parents to talk to them about the fact that she was late in her first day at school due to getting into a fight. Pretty strange right?  🤔 Everything seems normal with this teacher up until to episode 23.
Tumblr media
So in this episode, Osamu Kirin goes to the airport (I wonder why... though I may have an idea that I will bring up in part 2) where he met with Sota Higurashi and his daughter, Mei, who came to pick up Moe. After asking about Towa, Osamu Kirin asks about the grim comet out of nowhere. Sota asks him where it's the comet because he can't see it. So this leads to my theory: Osamu Kirin it's Kirinmaru in the modern era. The first hint would be their names which are similar. Then the fact that only Osamu Kirin can see the grim comet, but a normal person can’t. Lastly, in both English dubbed and Japanese version Osamu Kirin and Kirinmaru do have the same voice actor (also in Miraculous Ladybug, in English version Gabriel Agreste and Hawkmoth have the same voice actor or Vergil and Urizen from Devil May Cry 5 and in the first given example they were the same person). And I also believe that there, it's a telepathic connection between Osamu Kirin and Kirinmaru. Like Wolverine in X-Men: Days Of Future Past type of thing. Also, I believe, there it's a time loop (more on that in part 2). So I think this analysis/ meta t's pretty long already so I will stop here for now. The next points that I want to bring it up will appear in part 2. So, see you all in part 2. 😌
I think something I see in discussion sometimes is people getting upset about historical fiction not necessarily using the right terminology for marginalized identities.
And I don’t mean slurs (please don’t use slurs that aren’t relevant to your own identity), but like... the way I have a trans bisexual character describe themself is going to be entirely different depending on whether I’m writing Miraculous Ladybug or Marvel fic (modern, mostly real world), canon era Naruto (magic ninja 90s), founders era Naruto (ambiguous late 1800s/early1900s magic ninja Japan with heavy feudal influence because Kishimoto can’t timeline), or Girl Genius (gaslamp fantasy 1890s Europe).
I can toss exact words like quoiromantic or pansexual or genderflux into modern, mostly real world fics like Marvel and Miraculous, and it doesn’t feel out of place. That context exists! Stuff like Naruto has wiggle room for slightly more established terminology like bisexual or aromantic or nonbinary, but I’d hesitate to use words like ‘arovague’ in dialogue unless it’s a character that’s established to spend a lot of time in heavily queer circles, studying this shit in depth in their free time, especially with the whole translation convention situation.
Stuff that takes place in some fantasy 1890s or... whatever founders era Naruto is supposed to be (seriously What), things get a little funky, but so much more fun? Like, it’s a challenge, to write about feelings and identities that have always existed, even when we didn’t have words for them. The word “genderfluid” wasn’t coined until the 1980s, right? But there were definitely people that felt that tenuous connection to a solid gender identity, even without words for it. It’s not a bad thing for an author to come up with more flowery or complicated ways of saying things without using the words we have for it now, and then including the words for it in the author’s note.
Like. “People never say the word ‘bisexual’ in media!” is valid for modern or even recent-history works, but there’s something to be said for letting more historic or fantastical settings describe things in other ways, you know? The word first came into usage in 1886, and didn’t really gain popularity immediately, but people who were attracted to their own and other genders still existed before then.
Is there a reason why there's apparently a miracle box with its own set of miraculous in every region, but the ladybug (not even the cat with it) has still managed to canonically be used in the Aztec empire, ancient Egypt, namibia, feudal Japan, ancient china, Vietnam, etc etc etc?
We don’t know if the cat wasn’t there.
It could just be that we either A, didn’t see the art depicting the cat, or B, they chose not to depict the cat because they thought ladybug was more of a hero.
Plus the ladybug is like the creation based one, so ya gotta have respect on it.
The Tiger
If a purple tigress predecessor was some type of guardian-like warrior in Feudal Japan. I feel like this design was me satisfying my 90s anime big hair urges coupled with many Komainu statue references lol. So bare minimum, if I couldn’t give tiger impressions, I wanted this predecessor to at least give strong feline energy in her design 🦁.
Hinata Hajime as his own version of Ladybug, Hakaimushi (???破壊蟲?? Destructive/Scarlet Insect?) Maybe? With the Hakai/Akai pun? Does it translate? Probably not), the older, less likely to take bs lying down, dejectedly attends Hope's Peak Academy as a Reserve Course student version. He admires Hope's Peak, but not for the reason Nagito does, and it's a harsh reality when he actually gets in. He does manage to find friends in both the Reserve Course and Main Course, something Nagito can't quite fathom. Nagito is an odd kind of attraction, stemming mostly from Hajime's unspoken desire to be seen, and confided in, something he eventually finds in Kuroh (Kuromaneko *from maneki, or maneki-neko, or Beckoning Cat, otherwise known as Lucky Cat)
Making an AU! Inspired mostly by @moochisun 's Miraculous Ladybug AU, and @maichancreating 's feudal Japan redesigns, because they're really cool and I like them a lot
Alternative design that feels more like a hero
Nooroo couldn't leave Gabriel's side of his own volition, so Gabriel never suspected him to be able to sneak off and make meaningful conversation with his son. To be honest it wasnt that tough of a work around now. Duusu figured it out. Meaning she basically had to kidnap him every time they left to speak to Adrien. They spent most of their time teaching him what the Miraculous Spellbook said. “In feudal Japan, the Peacock and Moth was Mochizuki Chiyome, a....um...” Adrien read. “A noblewoman. A fierce kunoichi who took in widows and orphans who lost their families in the wars.” Nooroo interpreted. “The Miraculous team of that era was composed of the orphans she took in. Kuro Neko was Plagg’s kitten the time.” Duusu added, moving to a page about the ancient Black Cat. “Oh, yeah! I remember Kuro! She and Tento were twins, right?” Plagg piped up. “Tento?” Adrien repeated confused. “Tentomushi. The Ladybug of the time.” Duusu explained, turning to the previous page to show Adrien. “What happened to them all? It says they went on the run, but I can’t understand the rest of it.” Adrien asked. The three Kwamis froze and glanced at each other nervously.
ML: Are They Worthy? Chapter 4: The History of the Wolf Miraculous!
Marinette walks into Master Fu’s place. “Marinette, what is wrong?” Fu asks.
Before Marinette could answer, Tikki pops out, and says “The wolf miraculous is back!”
“I see” said Master Fu. “Wayzz has informed me of such.” He pulls up the pages for the wolf miraculous and shows them to Marinette. “The wolf miraculous is a tricky one. Its properties are unlike any other miraculous.”
“How come?” Marinette asked.
“The wolf miraculous is the miraculous of doubt” said Master Fu.
“He told me as much” Marinette said.
“So. you’ve spoken to the holder of the wolf miraculous?” said Master Fu.
Marinette nodded. “He came to me when I was sleeping,” she said.
“I see. As I was saying, doubt is a powerful concept. It can be used for good or bad things. Beyyo, the kwami of doubt, decided that because his power was strong, he didn’t want anyone to have it if he didn’t agree to it himself.”
“But, aren’t other miraculous more powerful?” Marinette asked.
“Yes. Beyyo noticed this as well” said Master Fu. “He was mad with the other kwamis, who trusted the humans who possessed their miraculous. They all tried to convince him that it was alright, but Beyyo didn’t believe them. He decided to tailor his powers to testing other miraculous users to see if they were worthy to have those powers.”
“He also told me that” said Marinette. “He told me that Beyyo could sniff out other kwamis, and that he can use a special Wolf Mist to create tests in an unconscious mind.”
“Yes, those are two of its powers” said Master Fu. “But the wolf miraculous has three other things that make it different. First, a guardian doesn’t give out the wolf miraculous. Beyyo carries it with him and wanders the Earth until he finds someone who he deems worthy of holding onto it. Second, its other power allows it to force a kwami out of its miraculous. Lastly, it isn’t affected by any of the other miraculous powers. For instance, say you had to fight him. If you used your lucky charm in order to try and best him, nothing would appear.”
“Almost every power…” said Tikki.
“Um, Tikki is very mad at the wolf miraculous” said Marinette. “Could you tell me the reason?”
“Of course Marinette” said Master Fu. “One of the previous Ladybugs operated in Japan. The identity of this Ladybug was the operator of an orphanage. She would protect everyone, but one of the people attacked most often was a daimyo, or feudal lord. She would be joined by the holder of the wolf miraculous, who was the head samurai for that daimyo. The two of them were friends, and they trusted each other. However, when the daimyo died, the title was passed down to his son. The holder of the wolf miraculous didn’t believe that his son was worthy of the title, and that his younger sister would make for a better daimyo. The new daimyo refused to give up his position, so the wolf miraculous holder resigned his position and became a ronin. He and Ladybug would still fight together when needed, but they had ideological fights between what they thought was right.
Eventually, the holder of the wolf miraculous decided to kill the daimyo, so that the person who he believed should have the power would take it. He warned his friend Ladybug he was doing this. So Ladybug learned the most powerful technique among miraculous users. Before the ronin could make the final blow, Ladybug interrupted him. She challenged him to a fight. They were evenly matched. Then Ladybug decided to use the technique she learned.”
“What was the technique?” Marinette asked.
“It is a powerful, but dangerous technique” said Master Fu. “It is in the grimoire, but I will not teach it to you. Any miraculous holder can use this technique, but it is strongly advised against learning, and only meant to be learned as a last resort. Before I can explain it, do you understand?” Marinette nodded. “Good. The technique is that the miraculous user channels all of the combined power of every previous holder of that miraculous, and then unleashes it in an all-powerful attack. However, both the focus of the attack and the user die in the process.” Marinette put her hands over her mouth, and a tear fell down her cheek. “Before she did it, the ronin asked why she was protecting an incompetent fool. She answered ‘everyone deserves to be protected.’ Once the two bodies fell, everyone knew it was over. The guardians came, and just like every time before, they picked up the ladybug miraculous, but the wolf miraculous was nowhere to be found. It hadn’t been seen since then, until now.”
“Tikki, I’m so sorry” Marinette said, crying and hugging Tikki.
“It’s OK Marinette” said Tikki, hugging her friend back. “It’s not your fault.”
“I know” said Mainette through her tears. “But, had I known…”
“It’s OK” said Tikki. “There was no way you could have known. I wasn’t expecting Beyyo to show up again after so long.”
“There is a little more to the story,” said Fu. “After the altercation, the daimyo did some introspection. You see, that Ladybug also didn’t like the daimyo. And yet he saw her sacrifice her life to protect him. He decided he wasn’t worthy, and abdicated to his younger sister, saying ‘these people deserve a daimyo worth dying for. You will make an excellent daimyo.’ He then left, to never return.”
“That doesn’t make the story less sad” said Marinette.
“You are right Marinette” said Fu. “I just thought you would want to know that.”
“What if I have to fight Judgment Wolf?” Marinette asked herself.
“You were found worthy, correct?” said Master Fu.
“Yeah, but so was that Ladybug” said Marinette. “And…”
“Marinette, I know how you feel” said Master Fu. “But cast those thoughts aside for now. You need to focus on the real enemy instead of inventing a fake one.”
“Yes Master” said Marinette. “Um, Judgement Wolf knows my identity. Should I be worried?”
“I don’t think so,” said Master Fu. “Since he trusts you, he won’t reveal your identity. If he didn’t trust you, he would have taken away your miraculous and given it to someone else. The wolf miraculous is strange, but even it follows a pattern.”
“One more thing” said Marinette. “Beyyo says that he’s changed, and that this user is different. After hearing this, I don’t know how much of that is true.”
“You’re starting to have doubts of your own” said Master Fu. “Like I said, doubt isn’t evil. For instance, if Nooroo could test Hawk Moth, he wouldn’t be in the situation he’s in right now. Just be careful, and remember, if both a guardian and the holder of the wolf miraculous trust you, you have nothing to worry about.”
“Thank you Master” said Marinette. “Uh, should someone warn Cat Noir?”
“I shall send Wayzz” said Master Fu. “You should go. I’m sure you’re busy today.”
“Thank you Master” said Marinette, leaving. Once she had left, Marinette asked Tikki “Do you still want to fight Beyyo and this Judgment Wolf?”
Tikki shook her head no. “It didn’t seem like either of them wanted to fight us. It would be pointless to fight them. Not to mention disastrous.”
“I agree” Marinette said, tickling Tikki.
Earlier that day, Vlad and Adrien entered Adrien’s limo to go to Adrien’s house. “So, why did you move from Toulouse?” Adrien asked.
“Eh, you know how it is. My folks said it would benefit my modeling career” said Vlad. “Besides, how could I say no to seeing you on a regular basis?”
Adrien chuckled. “Of course. Listen, I know you, and I know how you operate. But could you please not give my friends such a hard time? You don’t have to trust them, but you don’t need to get angry with them either.”
“Relax Adrien” said Vlad. “I trust you enough to know that these people are at least decent. Well, most of them are, anyway.”
“I just don’t want a repeat of yesterday” Adrien said.
“You and me both” said Vlad.
Beyyo was moving around in Vlad’s pocket. Vlad noticed this and turned to look out the window so Adrien wouldn’t see Beyyo. “Adrien is Cat Noir” Beyyo told Vlad. Vlad nodded, and Beyyo flew back into his pocket.
Vlad decided to put his new-found information to the test. “So Adrien,” he said, “what do you think about Ladybug and Cat Noir?”
“Don’t tell me you don’t trust them as well?” said Adrien.
“Did you expect any less?” Vlad asked.
“I can’t argue with that,” said Adrien.
“That doesn’t mean I don’t want to hear your rave reviews” said Vlad.
“Very well” said Adrien. “I think they’re both great. They work together to save Paris. They make a good team.” Vlad noticed that he didn’t say anything about how cool Cat Noir was. But then again, that’s just the type of person Adrien was, and he knew it.
They arrived at the Agreste manor, and was greeted by Nathalie. “I’m sorry Adrien, but your father’s busy. Although he does give his regards to Mr. Brodeur for just moving her.e”
“Aw, tell him I said thank you,” said Vlad. “Well looks like it’s just you and me.” The two had a great time, doing all sorts of activities that Adrien’s room allowed for. Eventually, Vlad got a call. Sorry Adrien, that’s my dad. He wants me to meet the mayor this evening. It’s kind of a hassle, but whatever.”
Adrien smiled. “Do you want me to come with you?”
“Nah” said Vlad. “I’ll be fine. Even if I did want you, I’m sure your dad would object.”
“Yeah” said Adrien. “You’re probably right on that.”
“Well, seeya” said Vlad.
“Later” said Adrien. Vlad left. Adrien sprawled across his bed.
Plagg came out and said “Sometimes, I wish you’d tell more people that you’re Cat Noir. I missed out on all that fun because no one can see me.”
Adrien sat up. “We still have fun Plagg” said Adrien, handing him a piece of camembert. “I still have some time, what do you want to do?”
Before Plagg could answer, Wayzz came in “Cat Noir! You must listen” he said.
“Wayzz?” Plagg said.
“What’s going on? Is Master Fu alright?” Adrien asked, worried.
“Master Fu is fine, Adrien” said Wayzz. “But something has come up.” Wayzz explained what Master Fu and Ladybug talked about.
“So, this wolf miraculous user wants to make sure that the miraculous holders are worthy?” Wayzz nodded. “And he already tested Ladybug?”
Wayzz nodded again. “You should be ready in case he finds you” Wayzz said.
“Right, but how?” said Adrien. “If he uses his Wolf Mist when I’m asleep, I can’t be prepared for that.”
“I’m just giving you a heads up” said Wayzz. “Master Fu is certain he made the right choice by making you Cat Noir.”
“I won’t let you, or this Judgement Wolf, down!” said Adrien. Wayzz nodded and left.
Later that night, Vlad lands on the sidewalk outside his window. “I was wondering if you were actually going to test Adrien” said Beyyo.
“Being friends is one thing,” said Vlad. “Protecting an entire population is something else. You can’t be too careful.”
“I couldn’t agree more” said Beyyo.
Vlad walked a few blocks and then called out “Beyyo! Fangs Sharpen!” He transformed into Judgement Wolf. Judgement Wolf made his way back to Adrien’s house and snuck in through the window. “Ready Cat Noir?” he said.
What’s your most popular fic, by whatever metric is most relevant to you (hits, kudos, comments, reblogs, some other trait)? I’ve only been writing fic for a couple of months, but my Five Conversations That Probably Happened, and One That Didn't (m/m Derek/Stiles) has gained a weird amount of traction--instead of dying every time I haven’t posted a chapter in a few days, I get some kudos every day!  I got 38 out of the blue the other day!  Which is thrilling!  But weird.  Probably it’s just such a popular fandom!  It’s super validating because I was wary going in to that pairing as nearly my first toe-dip into fanfic posting in like...a thousand-odd years.  *shoots guilty look at decade-old ‘will update soon!’ on FF.net*
What’s your favorite fic that you’ve written? Depends?  I’m really in my silly nonsense wheelhouse with In Which No One's Imagination Obeys Posted Speed Limits (M/F, Miraculous Ladybug, love square comedy/romance) but I also feel really pushed out of my comfort zone as I research writing an Elementary-style mystery in feudal Japan for Naruto?  I might end up really proud of Undercover at the Hot Springs (M/M, Naruto, Kakashi/Iruka).  I have so few stories I’m pretty fond of all of them, though.  I’m really delighted and proud people like how I write the Teen Wolf one above.
What’s your best fic, and is it different from your favorite fic? I dunno?  I’m proud every time I feel like I caught a recognizeable line or expression, one that people will read and think “Haha yup, that’s so ____!” Since only two are up and finished, and endings are hard, I guess I’d pull for Teen Wolf again.
Do you have a fic whose popularity surprised you? Yes, what the heck with Teen Wolf, it’s like making some weird cookies you’re proud of and wishing you could share them and people keep knocking?!  Strangers?!  At your door, who’ve heard about your weird cookies?  AND WANT TO TRY THEM?  WHAT WONDERFUL STRANGERS
Do you have a fic you wish more people would read? Steve Rogers is confounded by Christmas cookies, and Loki has a cat was a gift fic for someone last year and I don’t think much of anyone has read it except the recipient, which, y’know, FINE, but I didn’t spend all that time researching gross Depression food for this kind of disrespect!  XD  Also Over the Garden Wall is rad, so Greg is a Chaos Fairy, Wirt needs to learn to Say No, and Sara's day just got Cursed With Being Interesting so hopefully people find that one occasionally.
Is there a ship or fandom you haven’t written, but really want to?
I don’t have much of a drive to finish things that aren’t for anyone I know, so I think I’m more excited about the idea of my friends saying “I’d really like to see you write x thing!” than striking out on my own--their excitement gets me excited...though I would like to do more problem-solving requests, like “fandom+arranged marriage--and also, they’re lesbians!” or “fandom+fairy tale, but it’s (actual fairies with magic/modern day magicless), sort of thing!”  When people are just like “Do ___ fandom!” I’m like “...do WHAT with it though,” and I assume they just want my best effort at another canon episode or story arc.
Tell us a random fact about your writing process:
I write as much as I know about every chapter in one document with page breaks.  As I think of things (jokes/imagery/subjects to call back to), I add it in.  Then when I’m ready to write that chapter, it might have sixteen pages of text, or, one time, just “They better figure out what to do with those bodies o.o”.  From there I rewrite and finish the chapter in a new document.
Tag Meme~
Thanks for the tag @zeldaelmo :)
Rules: Tag nine people you want to get to know better/catch up with!
Favorite Color: Turquoise!
Currently Reading: Soul of the Sword (It is Book 2 of the Shadow of the Fox trilogy, a high fantasy series set in world inspired by Feudal Japan/Japanese Mythology. Highly recommend so far!)
Last Song: I was listening to a Christian radio station on my commute home and I don’t remember what the last song there was BUT the last song I listened to on my phone was The Champion Daruk from Age of Calamity. :)
Last Movie: Cruella. It was pretty good. Long movie, but good!
Last Series: tbh I watch shows so rarely now... I’ve been slowly picking away at The Mandolorian. And Miraculous Ladybug when we get new episodes of course :)
Sweet, Spicy, or Savory: Sweet! I have a big sweet tooth
Craving: A new BotW2 trailer with a side of 2021 Release Date LOL
Tea or Coffee: Tea. I avoid coffee mainly because I don’t want to get addicted to it (particularly because of all the sugar that I would inevitably dump in it lol)
Currently Working On: An original novel! I wrote the first draft and it reached 70K words but I wasn’t happy with the plot so I’m redrafting it from a different POV (first person) and a much better plot this time :) Also working on a fanart for Drew (Pokemon AG) Appreciation Day
Tagging any of my followers who want to do this! Feel free to mention me too if you do this. I want to get to know my followers too! :D
