hi Liane! although I know this blog isn't really active anymore, i happened to read one of your old izaya x reader stories on wattpad yesterday as a well-needed distraction from school and i just had to message you cause my GOD... it's the first time a piece of fiction made me cry since 2020. full on wanting to bang my head against the wall and rip my hair type of emotion. admittedly i do kinda feel like ass now but more than anything im impressed at what a skilled writer you are. never change<3

Same rules; you would think Namie is a weird one but her skin is also very pale even tho her hair is brown (like a smoky brown) so she definitely enters on the cold spectrum.

Now the colors that would fit her most, green is a good one actually but not the green she uses on her turtle neck, olive green would look amazing on her, beige/cedar brown, gray/white, pistachio and teal. Silver accessories with blue could really work on her. Even gold ones can looks amazing.

Her turtle neck really is...something, the colors are not so bad, the cut :/ could be better but she’s on the right path honestly, she just needs to make her outfits a little more interesting.

She doesn’t have than many outfits sadly and I haven’t seen any official art of her wearing something different so I’ll have to work with this.

Like I said her turtle neck is...meh :/ the first time you see it it’s pretty but after a while it has nothing more to offer, no accessories, no interesting cut, no nothing. Her skirt is very boring too and after a while I was WISHING we could see something else on her.

Still she’s not so clueless on what suits her, she got the colors semi-right but her silhouette could be improved. She has this lean hourglass figure so she has to wear things that hug her figure but not exaggerate it so much, she has a lot of options, she can wear a some baggy high waisted pants but a very tight shirt/sweater, she can also wear a tight skirt and some baggy upper clothes. Always putting emphasis on her waist, with belts or just with the clothes.

If she likes green so much she doesn’t have to give it up, the fun thing about fashion is the endless possibilities it has, the combinations you can make with basically anything. Every color balances each other out, even with the accessories, so she could be wearing a basic beige shirt and could use a silver necklace with some green details on it and it’ll actually look good.

Even if she’s working with Izaya she can go for a lot of comfy and fashionable outfits that suit her and make her feel comfortable and pretty.

And she would look so good in all of them 🥺 green really is her color and not everyone can wear it that good.

So same process as before; Shizuo’s skin is a little more tan than Izaya’s, it really goes for a yellow/gold undertone so he has a very warm skin tone.

And I think it’s obvious but warm colors go really well with this skin warmth. Orange, Yellow, Beige, Brown and some shades of green. Grey would suit him really well too.

Even when he’s not blonde his whole vibe is very warm: tannish skin, brown hair, brown/hazel eyes.

For accessories the best thing he can go for is gold and bronze.

1 whoever designed this outfit for Shizuo is a genius, I love it so much, the colors, the whole vibe it has i just sighs one of my real favorites, he looks amazing in it and I just love the vibe it has, even his sunglasses just look like an accessory and it’s mhwa love it

2 I hate it, I hate the color, I hate how it looks on him, I hate it. Why is it that shade of red? Why couldn’t it be like dark brown? Why does he have his sunglasses on? I can’t save it and I don’t want to think about it 0/10

3 So Shizuo has a lot of blue outfits here and there, even Tsugaru’s vibe is mostly blue, I think they look kinda better bc it has white and that neutralizes the colors a little, still I don’t like this one a lot bc he has his sunglasses on (again :/) also I believe another color would’ve made it a little more interesting, maybe a soft shade of orange? I don’t know, it passes the vibe but barely

4 okay so this one is tricky for me, there’s the blue vibe BUT they actually added other colors in there, there’s some red, some green, some orange and white, I love this fit for him, also those tiny glasses? Mmm yes scrumptious

So in the anime Shizuo is a string bean but my passion is ignoring canon so for me Shizuo is lean but also muscular ? I don’t know how to explain it but yeah that’s how it is for me, inverted triangle shape if you will; so with this body type the best fitting clothes are: V-shaped neck shirts, not very tight pants, stripes and big jackets

So I’m a fashion enthusiast and also I have a minor in fashion design so it’s my moment to shine

First of all we have to understand some basics when we ask the question “what color/style matches me most?”

For colors you have to pay attention to your skin color, for this situations skin color separates in two different categories, cold and warm

In this case, Izaya is very very pale so he’s more in the cold spectrum of the skin, his hair is black and his eyes are more of a darkish-reddish brown.

The best colors that match him are black-grey (which are his favorites and is also a lazy choice from him but I’ll forgive him bc he’s pretty) but also blue, purple, turquoise and pink (if you change his eye color gold and red can also work, talking in alter term at least, like Hibiya and Roppi)

Silver accessories also match him perfectly bc they stand out in him and make him look a little less pale, that’s why I love his silver rings so much 🥰 perfect choice baby

My favorite outfits of him colorwise

1 you look amazing baby but please don’t use a red tie ever again thank you, if the tie was a very deep shade of purple mhwa chefs kiss

2 I think the tie is pink but my eyes could be wrong, the vest is not my favorite fit on him but the color is not so bad but yikes could be better

3 absolute baby, he looks amazing, he looks fresh, he’s adorable, pink just *sighs* suits him so well 🥺🥺

4 again pink is mhwa on him but god the crocs are just 😩 even if they’re pink baby please never wear them again (you don’t have to be a fashion expert to know crocs are hideous)

Now the clothes that I think match him most, first we have to admit something and be very honest, as much as I love seeing him in suit the don’t well...suit him :/ he looks weird in them and maybe I’m just biased but I think he looks best in casual wear (even if he’s not wearing his coat, and I love his coat bc of how iconic it is)

His body is also very lean and skinny so I believe oversized outfits and baggy clothes in general would look better on him.

Imma be honest, softboy/core would be an amazing fit for Izaya, it’s comfy, has colors that would look great on him and it’s a very casual style (which I think would suit Izaya the best)

Izaya, shizuo and kida reaction to their crush confessing to them. They are just hanging out. They have a moment of peace and crush confesses while drinking a drink. Drinking it cuz they nervous. It keeps them from over reacting and saying anything else that is stupid. Outside they are calm straight faced, but inside they are screaming.

A/N: i’m sorry this request took me so long. life has been busy, as usual. i got carried away writing a one shot based on this request for izaya, i hope that’s fine!!! i’ll try to come up with something for shizuo and kida as well eventually.

“Oh?”, he asks, casually, his everlasting grin neither fading nor growing wider. It remains resting on his lips elegantly as if calculated with ease and practiced to perfection. Though his eyes tell a different story, the glimmer inside his brown orbs giving away the excitement.

They practically scream ‘I found your weakspot then, huh?’ and give away y/n’s doom.

“Is that so?” he chuckles and sets down his drink, his movements - again - nothing less than graceful and thought through. Amusement lingers in his tone, which also is not out of character for the mischievious informant, but hits different in this specific scenario.

He’s clearly dragging out the moment and enjoying their embarrassment. Then again, how could he not? It would be a shame to not get the most out of this. Considering how lovely they look with that particular shade of pink dusting their cheeks, dedicated to only him. How sweet they appear sitting next to him, eyes wandering off to the ground in a pathetic but charming attempt to avoid his gaze. How endearing they act with their nervous fingers clinging to the glass in their hand, their fingertips slightly tracing the rim in a shaking matter.

They struggle to find words as they are still shocked about their own sudden outburst. ‘I like you.’ how silly was that?

There are so many possibilities. So many ways to entice the utmost exciting reactions from them. They are so vulnerable for him right now, it’s ridiculous.

He knows he will regret getting impatient. Yet that does not stop him. Before their lips can even part to justify their confession, his hand reaches out to cup their face. Once the knuckle of his finger, accompanied by the cool touch of his metal ring, as well as his thumb gently but confidently take ahold of their chin, they forget whatever words they had struggled to come up with anyway. Tilting their face upwards, Izaya leans in closer.

Slowly.

In such a carefully slow manner, it must be on purpose to torture them further.

Once their noses touch and their breath gently brushes against each other, an ever so faint hint of the sweet alcoholic taste hovering in the small space left between their mouths…

he stops.

Whereas their gaze was focused on Izaya’s lips beforehand, it now travels across his features, setting on his half-lidded eyes. If the tension keeps up for another second, they’ll surely burst.

“I-Izaya, I’m-” the mumble shyly, but are cut off.

“Shh, now. There’s no need to say anything,” he whispers softly and his breath tickles their lips delicately.

Neither of the two make another movement. For a while, time freezes. At first, they grow more tense and uncomfortable, not knowing how to react to the raven’s shennanigans. Eventually though, they settle in this position, relaxing at the touch of his palm tracing their jawline and ultimately resting at their neck. His fingers barely run through their hair, just caressing their scalp and tucking a strand of hair behind their ear.

“I like you, too, Y/N,” he says. No smirk, no mocking voice, no sign of him acting like a trickster. It’s so unusual that it’s almost suspicious in itself. For a brief second, at least. “I thought you already knew. I do consider you as a dear friend, after all,” he adds with a chuckle and they slightly flinch.

They know he’s pulling their strings. He isn’t even trying to hide the fact that he wants them to repeat their words, wants them to explain the way they feel about him. To an extent, it’s cruel of him. But for the moment, they don’t mind being his toy. They’ve already given in.

"No, not in that way,” they mutter beneath their breath, fully aware that their voice would give out if they spoke up any louder.

"What do you mean, not in that way? I know exactly how you mean it,” Izaya snickers, thus confirming their suspicions. He’s reading their mind like an open book. “I’ve known all this time.”

They slightly purse their lips and attempt to free themselves from his grip, but Izaya crosses their intention by placing his lips on top of theirs. The kiss lasts for a solid while, alternating between slowly dragging skin against skin and experimentally pushing tongues against each other, before both pull away to catch some air.

“And I, too, like you… in every way possible.”

Shizuo:

he’s so goddamn dense. it probably took him forever until he understood that they can’t hear. they met for like the fifth time and someone else had to tell him about it.

not a big deal though, he doesn’t make a fuss about it. and it would feel awkward to ask them any questions, that just seems rude to him. it’s none of his business, really and he wants to be respectful. although he is generally curious.

he’s very eager to learn sign language. although he has his difficulties with it, he’s trying very hard.

the cutest. he asked them out on a date for the first time via sign language and he was so nervous and messed up. but when they understood what he meant, they couldn’t help but laugh, just because the situation itself was so endearing.

very impressed with their lip reading skills. it’s something he’s never thought about, so the concept is amazing to him.

this might sound weird, but somehow he feels a lot calmer around his s/o. he’s much more focused on other things and it’s somehow easier to literally blend out any noise surrounding him.

he tries to be more thoughtful of the way their world works. things come up he hasn’t considered before and it makes him more aware of the important things. he can learn a lot from them.

Kadota:

it wouldn’t surprise me if he knew some sign language beforehand. mostly basic stuff like saying hello, introducing himself, etc.

however, he’s also quite attentive and a quick study. he picks up on the skill more and more and conversations with him feel very natural and not forced, so he’s great company.

his group of friends is pretty chaotic, as we all know. kadota wants to make sure his s/o doesn’t get cut off during all the ruckus.

he pays close attention to them, unless it would make them uncomfortable to be sitting in such a spotlight. but he’s subtle about it, he just wants to make sure they feel comfortable and are alright.

his favorite thing is to take walks with his s/o and enjoy a nice view of nature. the way their eyes begin to shine when they admire a pretty flower field speaks volumes without any word having to leave their mouth or reach his ears. hopefully the feeling is mutual.

the most hassle kadota is in is when having to translate simon’s new sushi creations to them. they’re so weird sometimes, he doesn’t even know how to describe what they’re supposed to be.

Hi, love your blog. Can I request a scenario where a girl that Izaya was in love with but she ended marrying Shizuo, dies at childbirth? How would Izaya feel?

obviously, izaya never approved of her relationship with that monster. from the very start he despised the fact that they were a couple.

it took him a while to realize it must’ve been jealousy. at first it was just irritating and he didn’t understand why, but even upon knowing envy was to blame, he wouldn’t fully admit it to himself.

when he found out about them being an item, he tried anything he could to step in. he oh so much longed for her realizing what kind of person shizuo really is.

but pulling strings to have his rival act out and teasing shizuo to no end only fired back to him. even though he didn’t exactly make it a secret, she got so angry when she found out izaya was behind all these shenanigans.

before that, she knew to be careful around izaya – especially after shizuo’s warnings about him. but after everything he’s done to ruin the relationship, she cut all ties and completely avoids him.

she made sure to let him know how much she hated izaya for all the hassle. not that he cared – at least he wouldn’t admit that he did.

to shizuo and her, his behavior just seemed like another act of trying to piss off his rival. nothing that’s worth taking seriously. neither of them connected any dots and they certainly didn’t know the true goal of his plans.

the only people who know that this girl caught his attention in a different way than his human playthings would probably be shinra – who doesn’t fully believe it, but likes to tease his friend about it nevertheless – and namie – who is forced to endure his bs practically 24/7 and can count 2 and 2 together.

however, in the end izaya actually ultimately gave up on trying to make the couple break up or win her for himself. in a way he realized how his feelings were getting in the way and it was just easier to forget about it altogether.

but that’s easier said than done. though he’s not openly engaging in any shizuo-and-his-girlfriend business anymore, he still keeps track of them and makes sure to stay updated.

needless to say, the news about their engagement was a slap to his face. it even made him contact her again. of course, it was supposed to seem like a coincidence that he walked into her in the streets.

the conversation was much shorter than he had hoped for. “so, you really want to marry that brute?” – “none of your business, but yes.” and with that she walked off.

although he expected nothing else, it did hurt to hear everyone was invited except him. weeks prior to the wedding, izaya was in the worst mood possible and it continued being terrible for weeks after as well.

when he found out about the pregnancy a while later, he was surprisingly calm about it. there was nothing left to be done about the situation anymore anyway, so he wouldn’t let that get to him too much.

that being said, he wasn’t happy about it. he just allowed the wound to heal and was too prideful to get upset about this drama again. it would lead him to nowhere anyway.

has he playfully teased them when he got the chance to do so? of course, he’s orihara izaya after all. plus, it served as a great cover up for the little crush he still had on her.

what really truly crushed him was when he was notified of her being brought to the hospital after unforseen problems with the pregnancy.

although he very well knew he wasn’t welcome there, he had to go see her. he knew it kind of made him look like an idiot. but he had nothing to lose, really.

or so he thought, at least. but when he got there and saw a nurse talking to shizuo, he immediately understood what was going on. the expression on shizuo’s face was enough for him to know that she didn’t make it. even upon spotting izaya, he couldn’t manage to budge let alone fight him off as he usually would.

celty had also been there, perhaps she was the one who brought her and shizuo to the hospital or at the very least wanted to be there for her friend. when she noticed izaya approaching, she wanted to step in, but izaya wasn’t having it.

this was the last straw, he’s had it and for the very first time the usually composed and calculating, rational information broker lost control of his emotions. something he’d never allow to slip to the surface.

“you killed her.” he snarled it, shouted at shizuo, almost. surprisingly, the blonde didn’t even attempt to defend himself. “of course you did. what did you expect? it was clear you would hurt her eventually. i knew it, i told you. this is your fault.”

in retrospect, it was sort of to be expected. shizuo was in shock himself, he had just lost his wife. his world was shattered. and without a doubt, he was already blaming himself for it, so izaya’s accusations didn’t catch him off guard.

however, shizuo just standing there, saying and doing nothing, only caused izaya’s rage to increase even more. he was practically about to physically attack him.

celty was the one who had to remove izaya from the scene, she tried calming him down, but he only ignored her.

after screaming “she should’ve been with me instead. then she wouldn’t be dead now at least.” the dullahan forcefully pushes the raven outside. he eventually takes the hint and leaves, but there are restless nights to follow.

he only later found out that the baby has survived, but that doesn’t heal any wounds whatsoever. his hatred for shizuo is only worse and he dislikes the kid just as much.

It was bound to happen eventually. Shizuo saw it coming, but that didn’t mean he was any less scared of it. He dreaded the thought of ever snapping during an argument with her. But it happened, nevertheless.

The day has been pretty rough as is already. It’s not really an excuse, but he was already tense to begin with and her nagging certainly didn’t help with his bad mood.

Her complaints are justified, though. He has been straining himself recently and she probably just wants to help and only means well when she tells him to get a grip. But instead of taking her kind reminders as good advice – “You should eat more regularly and make sure it’s healthy food, not just instant noodles.” or the “You’ve been getting far too less sleep lately. Maybe you should cut off some shifts, I’m sure Tom will understand.” – all Shizuo interprets it as is her not being satisfied with his lifestyle. Not satisfied with him.

“What’s it to you anyway? If I’m not good enough, then just scram instead of being an ass about it.”

The growl in his tone should’ve served as a warning, but she remains stubborn. She was never really scared of Shizuo. Although he couldn’t understand how she didn’t think of him as nothing but a brute, he was thankful for her accepting attitude towards him. Otherwise they probably wouldn’t have ended up together in the first place.

Pouting, hands at her hips and brows furrowed she throws a glare at him and it infuriates him even further. “I’m not a dumpster for your bad mood, Shizuo. I just want to help you.”

The implication that he can’t control himself and – even worse – takes it out on her, drives him insane. Ironic, isn’t it? Thinking about it in retrospect, he knows how ridiculous it is, but that doesn’t help in any way, shape or form.

All he sees is red and he feels the adrenaline kick in. So he reacts quickly and just leaves, not wanting the situation to escalate any further. He can’t remember telling her “I don’t want your help.”, even though it’s something she points out in a later conversation. To him it’s a wonder he hasn’t said or done anything worse, but he can’t really recall any of it – as if blacked out. He remembers storming off and he remembers shattering the nearest trash bin to pieces to a point where the only thing left behind might as well have been dust.

After having a smoke and finishing the cigarette, he’s somewhat calmed down. He still ignores anyone passing by since he’s lost in thought and tries to reflect on what just happened. He knows he’s in the wrong here, but her judgemental attitude still bothers him.

After a while, he walks back home, somewhat hopeful that she would be sitting there and waiting for him still, but the apartment is empty. A note on the table says “please call me when you feel better.” in pretty handwriting and now he really feels like an asshole. He knows she’s just worried and caring and he know’s he overreacted.

But even though Shizuo truly wants to call her, he never manages to bring up the courage to do so. He wants to apologize, but something inside him tells him that maybe it’s just better off this way. Thinking back to the trash can he destroyed makes him shudder. Sure, this time he was able to draw back from the situation and cool off without hurting her. But what if he snaps again next time? What if he does end up hurting her in the process? He could never forgive himself.

Much to the dismay of any of Tom’s clients, the days pass on without Shizuo calling his girlfriend. Not having talked to her in what must’ve been a week by now, his mood just worsens. Torn between missing her and wanting to stay away from her for her own sake, his patience wears thin and a single misused word from anyone would have him throw punches.

“Call her,” Tom sighs after yet another fist fight between his friend and a customer. So far he had little complaints, since Shizuo would rarely truly go apeshit. Him showing hints of annoyance or frustration was often enough to scare non-paying clients in debt and make them return the money at once. But clearly, this is getting out of hand.

Flinching at the suggestion, Shizuo shakes his head. “What for? She’s better off without–”

“Don’t give me that ‘she deserves better’ crap. Whatever happened between you guys, you should talk about it. Take a day off and call her,” Tom sighs as he’s giving his friend a meaningful stare that allows for no backtalk. “Otherwise ,I’ll do it myself.” He pats Shizuo’s shoulder twice before raising it in order to wave him goodbye.

Shizuo keeps standing in place for a good minute until at least grabbing his phone. He can’t do more than stare at the screen, though, before he shoves it back into his pocket and gets home. The second the door closes behind him is the very same second his eyes catch the sight of her note still sitting on the same spot on the table.

“please call me when you feel better.”

A deep sigh escapes Shizuo’s lungs. He certainly doesn’t feel better at all. In fact, it keeps getting worse and definitely more difficult to ring her up. He drops onto his couch and tries to distract himself, but every few seconds his glance lands on the small piece of paper, which cruelly reminds him to man up.

“Screw it,” he finally thinks as he dials her number and presses the phone to his ear. Will she even pick up? It’s been roughly 10 days since they last spoke with each other. Maybe she’s settled with the situation and accepted it as a final breakup?

The sound of the ringing makes him anxious for just a second, as shortly after, he hears a familiar tune just outside his door. Lifting his head to the apartment entrance, Shizuo stands up and holds his phone a few centimeters away from his ear to listen for the source of the music. When it abruptly stops, he hears a softly spoken “H-hello?” coming from both his phone and from outside his front door. Instead of verbally answering, he steps to his apartment’s entrance and opens it.

“…Hi,” the blonde speaks somewhat awkwardly into his cell phone while looking her right into the eyes. She glances right back up at him, her phone still in her hands as well, neither of them hanging up the call.

“Tom told me you were home,” she explains, eyes still not leaving his and her phone still held to the side of her face. ‘You didn’t even give me a chance to call her back, Tom.’ Shizuo quietly thinks to himself, even though he feels sort of thankful for his friend’s help after all. A few seconds of silence fills the space between the two. “Can I come in?”

Shizuo steps aside and finally hangs up the call. She does the same while walking past him.

“I hope I’m not bothering you…,” she mumbles in an apologetic manner and Shizuo can’t stop looking at her. God, has he been missing her. “I-it’s just… Tom said you weren’t feeling too well.. and uh– I.. just came to check if everything’s alright and–”

Interrupting her excuses to visit him, Shizuo wraps his arms around her and within a moment walks her to the couch before settling on it, his head resting in the crook of her neck and taking in her scent and warmth. “I’m fine now that you’re here.”

A relieved sigh escapes her lips as she starts playing with his bleached locks. “I thought you might still be angry with me,” she mutters and when Shizuo glances up, he’s met with a frowning expression.

“I never was,” he replies and carefully places a gentle peck to her forehead. “I was angry at myself, you know? And you were right, I took that out on you and that wasn’t fair. I’m sorry,” he sighs and pulls her closer into his embrace. “I should’ve called you back immediately. I was just… scared. I don’t want to– you know. What if I end up hurting you?”

“Well, but you didn’t. You never did.”

The shine in her eyes is so innocent and hopeful that it reminds Shizuo how fragile she truly might be without even being aware of it. She feels like glass in his rough grasp, ready to shatter at any given point.

“Not yet, but–,” he tries to express his concerns, but his words are cut off by a small kiss to his lips.

“I know you won’t.”
