There’s no way Ryan and Min-Gi were not boyfriends that broke up with each other. They coded it as a “band”

Min-Gi quit the band because of college and his parents didn’t want him to be in a band even though he wanted to. This can be interpreted as Min-Gi’s parents didn’t want him to be in a gay relationship so he had to break up with Ryan.

But Ryan wanted to make it work. Ryan didn’t wanna break up “the band” because he loved it (Min-Gi) so much.

Min-Gi didn’t wanna break up either but he kinda just did what his parents told him to do so he left “the band” to go to college and run the diner they used to frequent at to write songs. He probably worked there so he can still have a piece of Ryan with him even though they went their separate ways.

And Ryan resented Min-Gi for so long because he broke up “the band” and they weren’t on speaking terms because of it. But the infinity train rekindled their relationship and now they can live happily ever after as boyfriends. That are also in a band.

I hope this made any sort of sense I haven’t watched this show in a while and I was watching a video on YouTube about how heteronormativity stunts queer representation and there was a clip of Ryan and Min-Gi and it made me think of the show again. Now I gotta rewatch the show.

If I missed any points or if you have a different interpretation let me know and I’ll edit this as needed because I haven’t watched a show in a bit.
