if you don't have access to word, is there a way to write directly into ao3?

You can always write directly into ao3 where you go to post, and some people prefer this, but be aware that it doesn't automatically save and won't save if you close the tab. Ao3 encourage you to have a back-up copy of what you write there in the "work text". So it is possible to write directly on ao3, but I would recommend writing elsewhere to avoid loss of the text.

rule #1 of talking to grad students is don’t ask how their research is going but if you break rule #1 and they tell you how their research is going then rule #2 is for the love of god please don’t say "just keep pluggin’ away!" to them

I love how my microsoft word has been trash ever since i bought powerpoint specifically for that one class i didn't even liked, i truly love it, it's just so...*chief's kiss*

What the fuck is going on with Word? I've turned off most of the "corrective" and "helpful suggestions" functions because they're usually inappropriate or unhelpful - plus early modern grammar is a nightmare for spell checking. However, Word seems to want them on and keeps giving me these bullshit "tips", such as:

I'm still editing this sentence but I very much DO want to say "Isham wrote her Book of Remembrance", not authored or drafted! Who the fuck uses one of these in this context?! "Isham authored her Book" sounds like something a first year who has just found the thesaurus function would write.

So, Word, kindly FUCK OFF!
