White Queen and White Wolf.
The Gvaedyn Meve, who remains one of the prominent rulers of the Northern Kingdoms. And the valiant knight Geralt of Rivia, who could well have served at the queen's court, if not for forced circumstances and his 'escape'.
Incredible Queen Meve by @witcherscreenshotsdump.

Ardal aep Dahy had at his disposal a huge group of the “East” army, even if don't take into count the countless number of spies who constantly, in one way or another, tried to interfere with the Lyrians and Rivians on the way to liberating their lands from the blacks. Even with such an army, the general was doomed to defeat at the hands of the golden-haired queen, whose name struck fear into all Nilfgaardians for many years, and her small army.
The Battle of the Jaruga Bridge gave Geralt his famous nickname. Geralt of Rivia. Having shown valor, the motivation of which was actually Ciri, Gwynbleidd also received the title of knight. But neither fame nor honor forced him to hesitate, sending him on a further search for his daughter along with his gang in the person of Dandelion, Regis, Milva and Cahir.

so the battle of the bridge specifically
thronebreaker canon flip-flops the banks
in the books, meve's army is on the nilfgaardian side of the yaruga (the left bank aka the south) wanting to cross the bridge at red lobinden to get back to angren (the right bank aka the north). and the nilfgaardians are on the right bank in angren (technically it's equally nilfgaardian at that point but it's the right bank) wanting to cross back to the nilfgaardian bank (the left bank)
thronebreaker canon, meve has been pursued through angren and ysgith (the north, right bank of the yaruga) by the nilfgaardian army that is also occupying the bridge and blocking her escape to ??? the left bank of the yaruga aka the south aka further occupied nilfgaardian country?

Hc time
Queen Meve towers over others. She may not be taller than them, but she's got Presence. When Nilfgaardians try their usual chauvinistic bullshit on her, it's like throwing pebbles at a mountain. Lyria and Rivia are small compared to Nilfgaard and yet she makes her enemies feel smaller.
This is true even with Emhyr in the room. A mountain doesn't care if you dance on a few graves.
