I went to the Met Cloisters today and saw, among many lovely medieval things, a 14th century ivory box where someone had scenes from all their favorite romances engraved on the sides. There were panels featuring Galahad, Lancelot, and Gawain, and I have genuinely never wanted to own an object from a museum so badly.

My boyfriend and me in the gardens of the Met Cloisters (photo by mom! she and dad came to NY for my senior recital and we all went to the city the next day ^^)
Speaking of my senior recital… would any of y’all want to hear it? It’s a 20 minute lecture on fantasy and sonata, followed by Mozart’s c minor fantasy, the first movement of his c minor sonata, and the whole Moonlight Sonata - all played on a replica of a late 18th-century Stein fortepiano (aka the instrument that has bewitched me body and soul). I’m not a performer by any means, but everyone who came seemed to enjoy it… Anyway. It was recorded and I can put it up on YouTube or something if anyone’s interested ^^
