*Rises from the grave* I'm not dead!

And I present: My Unfriendly Lenard design!

Ok so his name is Lestat and I lomve him.

I imagine him to be the most similar to his Friendly counterpart, personality and interests wise. Except he's a total pushover. A complete welcome matt. He wouldn't know how to say "no" if his life depended on it. Which it has. Several times. How is this puppet even still alive-

When he was still in The Unfriendly Neighborhood he was the others' errand boy, test subject, messenger ("don't shoot the messenger" didn't apply there), whatever the other Unfriendlies needed. He was a prime bullying target too since he wouldn't stand up for himself. He's also very accident prone and got hurt a lot even when the others weren't doing anything to him.

When the Unfriendlies finally get to go back up to the surface, Lenard tries to teach Lestat to be more confident. Lenard isn't the best at it considering his own issues, but he tries. They both grow better at it together.

Lestat becomes pretty protective over Lenard. He has a hard time standing up for himself, but no one messes with his (pretty much) brother.

I also colourized my favorite drawing from the page!

There's actually a backstory for this Lestat having two eyes! I totally didn't just forget that he only has one eye while drawing it and then make a backstory reason retroactively.

It's because this is him right after he got patched up by Lilianna, when he first came back to the surface. This was the first time he saw himself in a mirror since before he became unfriendly. When Lilianna was fixing his one eye, she offered to give him another one just because she could, and he accepted thinking it would be nice to have full vision.

He ended up being so overwhelmed by having full vision, and he hated how it looked so much, that he almost ripped it off again himself. Lilianna stopped him though and was like "no, I can fix it" and removed it much more carefully than he would have.

specifically lone wolves BTW!!! the dying ones thrown out from the pack to keep the pack (eden) integrity. the ones wandering around, shambling about like living corpses trying to stay alive despite being so fucking alone. if they're lucky, like dolph had thought he once was with alex, they'd be taken care of, or they'd meet a swift end.

dolph was a dying wolf given the comfort of a companion and he was willing to get hurt for that. he was willing to die for alex. he loved alex so fiercely.

then once again he was thrown under the bus.

bit of a ramble about t1 onesided 0310 because deep cover FUCKED ME UPPPP

Imagine being Kotoko and waking up in a prison with 9 other murderers and seeing this one redhead with extremely similar beliefs and ideals and morals to you and just going, huh wow that's cool ig.

Then over the course of t1 she slowly begins to fall for him, the enthusiasm he has when talking about soccer or prisons and human rights, the silly aggressive front he puts on and his ugly ass hair. But of course she would never EVER act on these thoughts because he's a murderer, no matter how ridiculously lovable he is, he's the kind of person that just needs to have judgement passed to him.

And we already see her distance herself from basically everyone in the prison, but I imagine for Fuuta it probably felt the same as when she pushed the little girl (I've seen people call her lucky, which is soso cute!) away to potentially protect her. So maybe like that? But then t1 comes to an end and she decides to beat up everyone Es deemed to be unforgiven and AUGH

WHAT IF SHE WENT EXTRA HARD ON HIM IN HIS BEATING TO PURPOSEFULLY PUSH HIM AWAY EVEN MORE AND TO MAKE SURE THAT THERE WAS NEVER A SLIVER OF A CHANCE HE WOULD EVER LOVE HER BACK, I AM SPIRALING.

Hello again! This is a post for people who have read my recently published fic "To The Unfriendly Neighborhood"!

I promised, didn't I?

This is an art piece I did while writing the fic! Major spoilers for the fic underneath the read more! Please give it a read and then come back and check this out :D

Now that only people who have read the fic (or are willing to spoil themselves) are here…

I proudly present: Jewel!

Yep! She needed a different name during the concept and ideas process because half-Unfriendly Junebug was too long, so we (me and a friend) decided on Jewel! Because Jewel beetles look very similar to Junebugs and are closely related.

And this is her!

This is her normal everyday wear! Her hair is tipped bright green because she convinced Gordon to buy her hair dye. Her skirt is long because it helps to hide her legs without them getting tangled up (I wanted to show them off lol). She's supposed to be disproportionate by the way.

This is her jacket outfit. She wears it when she's having a bad day and needs more of a "shield" from the world. It doesn't quite fit perfectly because it's an old employee's jacket.

And now the fun part, details and extras about Jewel and the story!

Story details:

- The reason Norman and Lenard thought Jewel didn't actually meet Gordon is because they hadn't encountered him themselves and made assumptions.

- Pearl actually knew who Gordon was, but she didn't think he was coming back and thought Jewel was just being wishful and naive.

Jewel details:

- Absolutely despises Norman. Particularly the Norman who wasn't aware of Gordon's existence and was the first to tell her he wasn't real, even when he was. She's sorta indifferent and standoffish to the other Normans, but she's downright aggressive to the original.

- When it comes to the puppets, she gets along best with Lenard, since he helped her through her transformation and the whole ordeal afterwards. They're very close.

- Struggles with delusions and hallucinations, often Lenard and Gordon are the only ones who can help her out of them.

- Very protective of Gordon. Almost constantly by his side. On bad days she'll growl at anyone who gets too close to him. Can and should be likened to an overprotective attack dog.

- Will sometimes just. Pick Gordon up. Like when you hold a cat by the armpits. Carries him around like a teddy bear. (He learns not to fight it lol)

- This is made funnier by the fact that she's 6'3, and I HC Gordon as 5'2.

- Has chronic pain in her legs and missing eye.

- So many body insecurities. So many.

- Intrusive thoughts galore. Do you know how many times this girlie has vividly imagined tearing her friends apart? Hates it with a passion.

- She becomes pretty cynical, but she tries to see the best in others regardless.

- Picks up cursing from Gordon, gains quite the potty mouth. I HC that the puppets are literally incapable of cursing until they turn Unfriendly, and Jewel is just Unfriendly enough that she's not blocked from it.

- Pretending to be friendlier than she is is incredibly difficult, so sometimes she'll go deeper into the studio, find an abandoned room, and just tear it to fucking shreds. Goes absolutely apeshit. Sometimes she just needs to let it all out.

I'm sort of working on a post-TTUFN fic about that last point on Jewel, so stay tuned! No guarantees cause I'm burning myself out a little, but I should have a short one out sometime, at the least :3

vegas and his sexuality is a very interesting topic for me.

so far, from what we’ve seen, vegas uses sex and his own sexuality as a ploy, as a way to feel in control — hence his dominance. we know little about his “relationship” with tawan, but it’s a safe bet to say he used sex as a way to manipulate him. he clearly didn’t enjoy tawan’s touch, looked almost disgusted by it and tawan himself. all this while tawan seemed to be head over heels in love with him, ready to risk everything, ready to risk his life for vegas.

except he didn’t see vegas. because vegas put on a mask, he hid himself behind it and tawan, while claiming that he loved vegas, loved an entirely different person who doesn’t even exist. they fucked, but it was never intimate the way it’s supposed to be, because vegas was never really himself.

enter pete, who’s seen the monster behind the mask and the vulnerable, sad person hiding behind the monster. he sees sides of vegas possibly no one ever has. vegas was intimate with pete even before they had sex. he’d let his guard down enough to show this broken, starved for love man who has to put on a show to please everyone. because that’s how he thinks he’ll find happiness and acceptance.

but pete doesn’t seem to require that, the mask and the show. quite the contrary, pete understands the parts of vegas that he, himself, deems the most unlovable. they have a connection that vegas has been desperate for his entire life, a form of intimacy he’s never experienced before.

pete, in one way or another, seems to trust him, despite seeing the worst parts of him. he trusts him by kissing him first, by giving him the rope himself. vegas seems baffled, once he falls next to him when they finish, when pete smiles. pete is smiling at him. because of him. because vegas showed him yet another side of himself. because vegas didn’t just fuck him, they were intimate in a way that’s new for both of them.

while it’s safe to assume that this might have been pete’s first time having sex this way, the first time he embraced this side of his sexuality, it’s also a first for vegas — the first time he felt comfortable enough with someone to be vulnerable during sex.

and then there’s the part of vegas that uses sex as escapism, as a coping mechanism. he’s not a man of words and clearly, not many would be willing to listen to him, so he resorts to using his body to express himself and to let out what he’s feeling. he let pete in but when vegas hit himself in front of him, he felt himself slipping to a place he didn’t feel ready to show, that he doesn’t know how to cope with except with violence or sex. and he didn’t want to hurt pete, so he chose sex.
