[Mermay] Finn - Fanart
And here I am, I haven't been here for a long time, about... wait a minute, what's the date today? The 20th of May?! I haven't appeared for five weeks?!! ... (0_0)  It seems that because of the six-day school week, I was completely lost in time, hehe.In any case, I decided to participate in Mermay and draw Finn, I decided to draw him in a simple style and as for me he turned out to be cute, however, there was a slight difficulty due to the fact that the author seems to have slightly changed the hairstyle of the character and I did not understand how it looks from the front, but I managed to draw something similar to how the author drew Finn from the side and yes, the character didn't mine, but I really liked his design and I can't wait to find out his character (something tells me that he will be inquisitive, and there will be lost human things in his bags)

I also just finished listening to lotr (I do it every summer) and was wondering which audiobook you are listening to. Highly recommend Rob Inglis.
Ah, nice! I'd say I used to read LOTR and The Silmarillion about once a year, so I understand :D
Lemme check... Yup, that's the narrator for the recordings I have. My only 'complaint' is that he sings all of the songs, and because they have such simple, repetitive melodies, I've had the damn Tom Bombadil song stuck in my head for 24 hours. *eye twitch* I may not survive XD;;;

TAFSIR: Risale-i Nur: The Words Collection:The Thirty Second Word .Part 22
Loving beautiful things in their Maker’s name and in a way remind-ing you of their Creator is a pleasant reflection and will turn your view, which adores beauty, toward the sources of a far more elevat-ed, sacred, and subtler beauty. You will turn from those beautiful works toward the beauty of Divine acts, then to the beauty of Divine Names, and then to the beauty of Divine Attributes and the All-Majestic One’s matchless Beauty. This love is pure pleasure, an act of worship, and a reflection.
Loving youth because it is a fine blessing of Almighty God, you will spend it in worship and not waste it in dissipation. When you do that, the worship done while you are young yields permanent fruits. Youth disappears, but those fruits remain and you will be protected from the evil consequences of a youth spent in rebellion and dissi-pation. When you grow old, you will concentrate even more on worshipping God and deserve more from Divine Mercy. Unlike the heedless, you will not weep or regret your five or ten years of youth-ful pleasures as you enter the twilight of your life. You will not be like the heedless, who say: “If only my youth would return, I would tell it what old age has made happen to me.”
Loving such exhibits as spring because they are works of Divine Art means that the pleasure of observing them does not disappear when they are removed, for you can recall the meanings they have left in your mind like gilded letters. Like movie scenes, your imagination and time enable you to take pleasure in seeing them, and your mind refreshes the beauties and meanings of the past spring. In such a case, your love continues to give pleasure and enjoyment and does not become painful and temporary.
Loving this world in Almighty God’s name makes all of its crea-tures like amiable friends. Seeing it as a tillage for the Hereafter, you find in everything a capital that can be used for the good of your afterlife. Calamity does not scare you, and the transience of your life does not trouble you. You will stay in that guest-house peacefully until your appointed hour. But if you love the world as the heedless do, you will suffocate in a troublesome, calamitous, transient, and fruitless love.
If, after indicating the pleasures and benefits that the kind of love taught in the Qur’an will give here, you want to hear and know such love’s other-worldly results, read the introduction and nine indications that follow:
Introduction: Through His majestic Divinity, gracious Mercy, supreme Lordship, munificent Caring, vast Power, and subtle Wisdom, Almighty God has equipped the insignificant-sized human body with so many senses and feelings, such a variety of organs and members and systems, and numerous faculties so that He may make each one of us sense and know the innumer-able varieties of His bounties, kinds of His favors, and instances of His Mercy. Also, He has done this so that we can measure and love His Names’ count-less manifestations. Each bodily member, system, and faculty has different types of service and worship as well as different sorts of pleasures, pains, duties, and rewards.
For example, eyes see the beauties of forms and various miracles of Divine Power in the sphere of sight. Their duty is thoughtful and contem-plative observation and gratitude to the Maker. Everyone knows the pleas-ures and pains particular to sight. Ears perceive different sounds, creation’s sweet melodies, and the subtleties of Divine Mercy in the sphere of hear-ing. They have their own unique type of worship, pleasure, and reward. The sense of smell is aware of Mercy’s subtleties in the sphere of smelling, and also has its own unique pleasure, duty of gratitude, and reward. Like the others, the sense of taste performs many duties of thanksgiving by being aware of the tastes of everything consumed.
In short, all of our senses, organs, and faculties (e.g., the heart, intel-lect, and spirit) have unique duties, pleasures, and pains. Almighty God, the Absolutely All-Wise One, will undoubtedly reward all of them accord-ingly. Everyone is aware of their immediate rewards in the world. As for their rewards in the Hereafter, as they are briefly proved in the Twelfth Truth of The Tenth Word, the six Fundamentals of The Twenty-Ninth Word, and The Twenty-Eighth Word, they are also either stated explicit-ly or alluded to in the Qur’an, the truest word, the most perfect system, the Word of God, the Sovereign, the All-Glorious, the All-Knowing.

Honett – betont taktvoll
alex sebastian & band – Dark Pop meets Acoustic
So finden sich u.a. Jerry Marotta (u.a.
Letzte Show: 1.00Uhr. notenlos.de
😉 Kommenden Samstag, 28.

Just Pinned to Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King is the towering climax to J. R. R. Tolkien's trilogy that tells the saga of the hobbits of Middle-earth and the great War of the Rings. In this concluding volume, Frodo and Sam make a terrible journey to the heart of the Land of the Shadow in a final reckoning with the power of Sauron. In addition to narrating the prose passages, Rob Inglis sings the trilogy's songs and poems a capella, using melodies composed by Inglis and Claudia Howard, the Recorded Books studio direct http://bit.ly/2Hl4rCE

Versatile British Director Alan Parker Dies at 76
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
Innovative and acclaimed British director Alan Parker, died Friday, July 31, after a lengthy, but as yet undisclosed illness, according to Variety. He was 76.
Parker was nominated for two Best Director Oscars. One of those films was 1988’s Mississippi Burning, which highly dramatized the investigation of three murdered civil rights activists in 1964. The films starred Willem Dafoe and Gene Hackman, with the latter being nominated for Best Actor. Parker’s first Oscar nomination though came for the 1978 drama Midnight Express, another film based on true events. Oliver Stone won his first Oscar for the screenplay, which focused on Billy Hayes, who escaped a Turkish prison after being convicted of trying to smuggle hashish out of the country. Giorgio Moroder also won his first Oscar for composing the music. It was Parker’s second feature, and it was vastly different from his debut.
Alan Parker had a special connection with music. He didn’t direct his films as much as he conducted them. His first film, Bugsy Malone (1976), was a musical which captured the essence and innocence of film. Made with a cast of children, all under 15, it could have been released at any point in motion picture history. The Gangster film parody starred Jodie Foster, Scott Baio, and John Cassisi, who had a recurring role on Barney Miller. The Tommy guns shot whipped cream instead of bullets, but it was killer cream.
He also took on one of classic rock’s most classic rock projects. Before he was a knighted ‘Sir,’ Bob Geldoff was a Boomtown Rat, and Parker shaved his eyebrows and tossed him over Pink Floyd the Wall, the 1982 dramatization of Roger Waters’ concept album tale of his errant musical friend, Syd Barrett. Parker also crowned Madonna as Evita Perrone in the film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s Broadway musical Evita. He brought New York streetwise actors to life in Fame (1980), which audited acting classes at New York City’s High School of Performing Arts. Parker clubhopped to see almost 1,200 Dublin bands in order to mixed his own version of British Soul for The Commitments, which captured a distinct working class ethic.
Sir Alan William Parker was born Feb. 14, 1944, in Islington, North London. His mother, Elsie Ellen, was a dressmaker, and his father William Leslie Parker, painted houses. Throughout his career, Parker maintained a defiantly working-class attitude. He started as a copywriter as a teenager, and directed TV ads for 10 years before writing the screenplay for the 1971 Waris Hussein film, Melody. Parker wrote and directed his first fictional film, No Hard Feelings,in 1973. The film was a wartime romance captured over the 57-night Blitz on London during World War II. Parker had been born during a bombing raid. “Born in the war? Birthday punchings,” Roger Daltrey would sing on The Who’s “5:15.” Parker mortgaged his house to pay for the film. He also directed the BBC Play for Today production of The Evacuees (1975), based on the true story of a school evacuation.
After Fame Parker made the breakup drama Shoot the Moon (1982). Albert Finney and Diane Keaton were nominated for Golden Globes for their portrayal of the starring couple. His 1984 film Birdy starred Matthew Modine and Nicolas Cage as Vietnam War veterans recovering from psychological and physical injuries after coming home. In 1987 Parker adapted William Hjortsberg’s novel Falling Angel into the satanic detective thriller, Angel Heart. The film starred Mickey Rourke as the unknowingly condemned, Lisa Bonet as a too-familiar voodoo priestess, and Robert De Niro as the Devil himself.
He followed Angel Heart with Mississippi Burning. Between The Commitments and Evita, Parker wrote and directed the clean-living period comedy, The Road to Wellville (1994) set at the Battle Creek Sanitarium in the early 20th century. After Evita he made another drastic stylistic change, Angela’s Ashes (1999), about an Irish-American family which has to move back to Ireland. Parker’s last film was the 2003 capital punishment thriller, The Life of David Gale, which starred Kevin Spacey and Kate Winslet.
Parker was a founding member of the Directors Guild of Great Britain, and founding chairman of the UK Film Council in 2000. He received a CBE in 1995 and a knighthood in 2002. Parker quit filmmaking in 2015. Having directed since he was 24, he said he was tired of fighting producers and studios.
Parker was married to Annie Inglis from 1966 until 1992. He also married producer Lisa Moran. Parker has five children, including screenwriter Nathan Parker.

A live-recodring of a concert by plants and animalia (Christina Ertl-Shirley&Felicity Mangan) is part of this show!
“Plants and Animalia are an experimental music duo merging Felicity Mangan’s animal field recordings with Christina Ertl-Shirley’s (CES) live and field recorded plant sounds. Christina’s live work marshals the internal metabolism and chemistry of plants — external sensors on leaves and in soil, wires embedded in stems and compost — to control self-built electronics in a green hardware-driven performance.
Over the last year, as Plants and Animalia have played shows, Christina has increasingly not just performed but travelled with plants (typically, Prunus laurocerasus; Clivia; Notocacteae; Chlorophytum Comosum; Crassula ovata; Philodendron). She has toured with them and played many shows with them; they are, effectively, non-human bandmates. The strength of the electrical impulses they generate are mutable, unpredictable and contingent on how the plants are feeling at a given time — like their human counterparts, some days they are firing, other days they misbehave a little and sometimes they may not work at all (and other times they just need a drink). In this performance, Christina’s plant sounds layer shimmering synth-like melody and lines and cracked rhythms through Felicity’s complex fauna sounds, constructing a finely-drawn four-dimensional space of shifting post-natural textures.”
