Honestly though, I love all of the happy theories where Zag is just living his best life in the sequel, but so busy with something else he can't be the main character of the game. But at the same time I also want some angst to start with and then have the happy Zag and Mel sibling moments. (Feel free to use and expand any of these ideas. i don't know how the timeline works in hades but imagine before hades 2, zag's talking to the shades waiting in the great hall about melinoe like "oh, my baby sister is so cute, I think she's coming back from her witch boarding school soon" and they assume she's a sweet adorable kid bc that's all he's been talking about

but then emerging from the river styx with blood dripping from her shoulders is this tween whose looks could kill you, and her face lights up when she sees her brother and launches herself at him and then fucking bites him

Remember how Zagreus Hadesgame was presented as wanting to leave the underworld because he wanted to join the gods on Mount Olympus, and then it turned out that all he really wanted was to see his mother?

Really curious if Melinoë Hadesgame's goal of "death to Chronos" also has a subversion or at least is not quite what it appears to be on the surface
