I've always considered John middle class, leaning on the more wealthier side. But like.....remembering he went to an IVY LEAGUE school in the 50's just really solidifies that for me even more. Like I just watched a video and it said even now, to get into an Ivy league you have higher chance (acceptance rate at about 30%) if you're a Legacy Applicant, meaning you are related to an alumni. And an "average person's" chances are ~6% acceptance rate. And back then is definitely where the prestigiousness is built and really of that era. And while I'm sure that doesn't mean you didn't have a chance (yes it did if you weren't white, a man and had money) on very rare and few chance, lol. But I just do not think John was one of those rare chances of getting in when being a poorer white man. Especially since like the newspaper clipping shows he wasn't like top of his class (like they could have added), just one of the the graduates. So I don't think he really was having to prove his place there, he just was there if that makes any sense.

And not to bring it back to him, like I tend to do when talking about John deeply, bc I will die on this hill that is is so important for John's character. But ANYWAYS. One major kick back when it came to the K*nnedy's were plainly how rich they were. They said to be for the people while not being 'the people' at all. And people critized they were for the rich folk. While clearly not always the case, they're plenty of lower class homes that still adored the K*nnedy's and Jack's potentially new and young future he claimed he'd create. But all this being said, John being an utter true and blue believer of Jack and the K*nnedy's. It makes sense he would fall more into a section of having more money. Not saying he's going to country clubs and owning yachts. But definitely comfortably with some luxuries, y'know? Because there wouldn't be that major disconnect between the two, obviously some. But less compared to other families of this time.

Anyways, going back to I wanted to talk about, John's clothes while going to college. The 1950's were definitely a time of still wearing full on suits to college. But I was able to find some other stuff and here is just a couple things I found cute for John :"]

I absolutely love the graduating year sweater, with the button up just barely poking out. The light pants and shoes. So cute. While I think this is a more Harvard thing. Shhhh. This is cute and it could be whatever. And I love the 'P' one, since he is a Princeton graduate, aha. While I think this is from the '60s it's not that different at all from the '50s silhouette. And so I think it gets a pass. I like the shorter pants trim to expose the socks and shoes more. Also, the hint of the bluish undershirt love that, really brings John vibes lol.

This is my personal favorite. The tennis outfits? Oh so good. And seeing these being the outfits I'm like yeah, very prestigious. And very much in your face that these are not the average Joe because it screams they go sailing on the weekends.

But yeah. Um. A little ramble abt John and the wonders of what he could have worn while going to Princeton in the early '50s; and another just a lil on the fashion that I liked aha.

Good question!! So I had to look up my own archive bcause I didn't remember but the first time I drew him was end of december. its been.... 9 months...

I have been aware of twst a few years prior but I was never INTO it. I really liked Sebek's design from the get go though, it has many elements that appeal to me personally (AND HE'S IN THE EQUESTRIAN CLUB!!!! I LOVE HORSES!!), but since he wasn't in the main story much I really didn't know anything about him. Then Glomas happened and I ended up getting obsessed w twst, and honestly around that time sebek got A LOT of cards back to back (dorm card, glomas, new years, masterchef, birthday, harveston on en) wich made me wanna look into him more and.. BOY!!!!

He is so obsessive!!!!! SO confidently wrong!! His perception of reality is so warped!! I wanted to study him under a microscope immediately. And honestly he's so FUNNY he makes every scene hes in a treat. A moment that had stuck out to me when I was still learning about him was how important it was to him not to lose to silver at.... coffee drinking... LIKE MY GUY!!!! NOBODY CARES!!!!! His point of view is so fun to see. I need to put him in a blender. I find characters like him very interesting, devoted to one person and all of their actions and morals are dictated by that.

Of course eventually it did become apparent that he has actual reasons and deep insecurities that affect his behaviour (which I hope but doubt ch 7 will actually touch on), that make him a pretty well rounded character, very fun to analyse and see more of. And his bond with the rest of Diasomnia is super interesting too. Silver is my 2nd favourite so it's nice that they interact a lot and mirror eachother.

Tldr of it is im also the kind of artist/creator who loves popular media/fandoms and adding it into characters either as a trait, personality, design feature, ect, but i really hate getting those comments because they trickle into my ocs that arent at all related to that and even if its obvious i really want to try and just self indulge then try and build up a actual creative character

WARNING NOTHING STARTED THIS I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SPIGGY A BROTHER WHO WAS WHITE AND PINK BECAUSE HE IS A INVERTED VERSION OF SPIGGY BUT THE ANGEL DUST COMMENTS HAUNT ME EVERYWHERE I GO HAHAHA im really shy with saying that i like certain things because then i dont want people to think EVERYTHING is inspired off that certain thing i like an example is the whole angel dust thing. I love that character, i adore the anatomy, the silhouette, even things down to the voice and how they are animated, but, when i say i like that character, some people instantly think of my ocs like Spiderguts sometimes. When, funnily enough, Gutsy isnt inspired off Angel Dust, but in some cases ocs that have no correlation with AD (anatomy, colors, ect) ARE actually inspired off him Does this matter? Oh, hell no. No one cares what i like or what i like is inspired by, its just irritating when some people comment, compare, ect, infact i know 100% no one gives a shit if i even say that my Fursona Cinder fights and acts alot like Bakugo, because its a common interest, its a common trait, and theres others like me who also like this, some who go further then i really go who have characters that are a furry version. (im one of them jsjsjsj) Sometimes it makes me feel funny, or silly, but im still just getting used to fandoms really, im very used to being near big creators who get so pissed that you even DARE draw like them, let alone have a character who has a green hoodie i guess its the whole "nothing is original anymore" shit, but im not used to the fact there are people who do what i do and like what i like and enjoy putting it into their own characters just yet AHHAHHWA

its been five years since i got into this show now, i got into it around their birthday so its p easy to remember when my brain got taken over by these lil shits.

this show rly helped me out of an art slump way back when and even now ive realized its done exactly that for me once again in these last few months after getting back into it. i think a lot of how it was like back in 2017-2018 to be into this show and i cant help but feel a warm fondness in my chest, everyone was so active and kind and it rly felt like just a nice place to be around. its more quiet now, not as many people around here anymore, i kinda miss it but eh, thats just how life is. i met some fun people through this silly show, and despite my waning interest in the newer stuff i still hold it dear to my heart. especially now, its rly helped me get through a rough patch in my life and im happy it was this show that i met up with again at the end of said patch. anyway im gonna stop now before i get too cheesy, im far too much of a sentimental person and if i dont catch myself i start crying. yall have fun and enjoy your lives
