Just heard that general worker mandates are finally being dropped... or something, the wording of that announcement is honestly confusing, yet their announcements were clear enough when they announced the lockdowns and curfews last year. While the topic of mandates is now for individual employers to enforce, third dose mandates are still in place for aged care, health care and emergency services; I would say that’s beside the point, but when most of the population has already had two or three doses (thanks to the mandates no less), there’s really no point in keeping them for as long as they have.

Also, masks are no longer required to be worn in airports, but they are still mandatory on flights and other public transport. Honestly, the mask mandate for public transport should just be dropped already because there are people who clearly don’t care about wearing them even though the rule is still technically there and even though announcements say that the rule is being enforced, I have never seen it actually being enforced (but then I mostly catch public transport at peak hour anyway, where authorised officers only check concession cards when exiting stations).

It’s funny how this only happened a couple of days after a public hearing where it was found that practically every expert doesn’t support the mandates anymore. Speaking of which, there’s the state election coming up in November. Never forget what they did to you over the past two years.

Anyway, just wanted to cap this off with a little paragraph that was originally going to be in my Booster Chronicles post last month, but it didn’t make it in because I was trying to get the post out with adequate time before the federal election:

The same day (after getting the booster) she (my mum) wanted to head out for lunch before going to a little seminar. I suggested going to lunch somewhere near where her seminar was, but she was a little hesitant about going there because it was apparently a high risk zone for her (the area where we went is one of the “Asian capitals” of our city, it was also a hotspot for cases in the past two years). At this point I think everyone still wearing a mask is basically walking around with a huge neon blinking sign saying "I AM VERY EASY TO SCAM".
