Duolingo is 100% my learning style, and for that reason I don't really like the structure of busuu at all. Duolingo is great about teaching you a new word or concept and how to apply it in multiple different ways, whereas busuu is all about memorizing five sentences at a time and just being expected to remember them, which is something that has never worked for me in any subject, and especially now when memory is such a struggle. But in the 534 days that I've been using Duolingo, they've stripped it of every bit of instruction, so I'm learning in a way that makes sense to me, but not in a way that I can explain. When I initially took the assessment for busuu, it thought I was 65% fluent and put me at a really high level, but then I struggled because, while I could understand and translate almost anything they threw at me, anything relating to understanding the grammar behind it threw me for a loop. Maybe a month or so ago, I scrolled back to the beginning and have been relearning things I already knew, but learning them more thoroughly and less effectively at the same time.

In summation, I think they're best used combined until Duolingo finally implodes fully.
