Marxism- It is 19th century, industrialization has just begun. The transition from feudalism to capitalism is happening. People has been adjusting to the routine of working in an industry. 15-16 hours of work and wagers from the age of 7. People were starting to revolt their wages and working hours.

Karl Marx is then starting to give a lot of thoughts on the current and future of the society. He made everyone realize capitalism is different from pre-existing feudalism. Capitalism will always cycle around business. Maximizing profit. He truly believed capitalism is inherently exploitative. And predicted there will be a revolution from workers. He had a picture that when capitalism reaches to its peak, workers can take over the industries. 

Marx said with capitalism class struggle between what he called Bourgeoisie and Proletariat will always exist. So he wanted the state to take over all the lands and industries. 

Lenin and Mao were avowed Marxists. Leninism and Maoism were both marxism adjusted to their own country. They differ only in the organizational and political strategies they persued.

Leninism and Maoism- Russia was a poor backward country mostly agricultural. The revolution came from the city workers while maoist revolution started from peasants. Leninsm had top-down organizational method. They believed in the party system that party was the vanguard of the people. The party will teach people about the revolution and take on their best interest. While Moa believed in bottom-up party approach. He believed in people's inherent revolution consciousness than that of the party. Maoism started with peasants armed revolution. 

And that's what Naxalites are adjusted to India. They believe India had colonialism and semi feudalism during British rule. And there was never a true independence. Just that feudalism and capitalism was handed over to someone else. And that is why people are still suffering. They want to distribute those wealth.
