After my journey to Iceland on January 2020, the actual pandemic spread in Norway. As a way to keep my head busy, like many of us did, I started reading again. I have a special appreciation for dystopian future novels, and for the past few years I wanted to read Ray Bradbury´s The Martian Chronicles one more time. I was curious to see how different I could perceive these stories now, being an adult and living this weird pandemic reality. While I was reading, I began to develop and scan the film photographs that I took during my last journey. I couldn't help to perceive the landscapes as scenarios of these stories, where Mars represented hope and the possibility to start over, in contrast with the angst and uncertainty that I was feeling. After enlarging these photos in the darkroom, I started using them to experiment. Copying and combining them, changing sizes and perspectives using a Risograph photocopy, I created my own imaginary landscapes, a place we could escape, and get a second chance for civilization…
