Christmas tree is up! 🎄🎄🎄🎄 I got those rainbow felt garlands from Trader Joe's and they're sooo cute! They match my lil holiday llama! 🐑 I wrapped all my presents (except I still don't know what to get/make for one person...) and did a LOT of cleaning in my room, too. 😴 Yesterday I spent 7 hours! Making tamarind syrup from scratch and cleaning an entire jackfruit!! It was huge! I was so tired by the end of it that I couldn't cook it. And now I'm too tired from cleaning to go cook it ughhh. New decorations on the Halloween tree!! 🎃🎃🎃🎃 My aunt made me a gift bag of Halloweeny goodies, including the stripey pumpkins, wood cutouts, skull garland, and some more spider rings which look PERFECT on my tree! 💀 Also, uh, sorry to Future Cori because I tapped into my emergency cash (that I NEVER touch) to buy more Halloween candles because I'm so in love with the first one I got. I vow to pay myself back once I get the (small) compensation check for pollworking later this year. 🕯 But seriously, these candles are helping me hold onto a little bit of sanity, so I think that constitutes a little emergency, because my first candle is running low. Not to sound all ""first-world problems"" but I genuinely mean that. I look forward to lighting my first candle every day and even when it's not lit, it gives off that scent of fallen leaves and warm pumpkins. 🕯 So I have Candle-Lite's "Pick of the Patch" which I now have 2 of bc this was my first one and I needed another - this is the fallen leaves and warm pumpkins one, probably my favourite scent of the three. "Creepin' It Real" which is like fruity and fresh. And "Oh My Gourd" which smells like the most delicious pumpkin bread. Usually I don't like food scents, because they make me hungry for that food, but in the spirit of Halloween (and since my appetite has been completely nonexistent bc of stress, which is unusual for me) I am making an exception for Oh My Gourd lol. 🎃 My goal is to keep myself alive with some sense of sanity past the end of this year and I think these candles will do the trick by extending spoopy season at least that long. Is scent therapy a thing?
