So I've been getting into Charmed again the series that stared in 1998, the original series with Prue Piper and Pheobe. And when watching, I can't help do wonder what charmed power the Ericson kids will have or be whitelighters. I can see my oc Maya, and Violet mirror Piper and Leo's relationship. But instead of a straight couple, it is a lesbian one.
So if anything, what kind of wiccan power do each person will have in the charrmed series can be a powers like the Charmed ones or whitelighter who can heal and orb out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sorry we took so long to answer this.
We've never watched Charmed before so these answers are based on our very basic Wiki knowledge of what Whitelighters. From what we understand Whitelighters serve as guardian angels to witches and should have a platonic relationship with them. Though it's inevitable that role gets broken. So we've broken the Ericson kids into witch and Whitelighter pairs.
Louis: Witch (He'd love that witchy aesthetic)
Marlon: Whitelighter (he looks out for his dumbass bestie)
Sophie: Witch (She uses magical spells in her art)
Violet: Whitelighter (Also a tired blonde looking out for her dumbass bestie)
Renata: Witch (She's just a sexy witch gal)
Minnie: Whitelighter (Anxiety driven Whitelighter who tried not to fall for her sexy witch ward and failed)
Aasim: Witch (The nerdiest witch of all time)
Ruby: Whitelighter (Literal embodiment of an angel. The best healer. Also breaks the rules and gets with Aasim)
Brody: Witch (Who specializes in protection spells if that's a thing)
Omar: Whitelighter (He's a god, baby)
Mitch: Witch (The witch that wants to fight the world)
James: Whitelighter (The Whitelighter that has to clean up all of his chaotic witch's messes)
Clem: Witch ( She's the chosen one obvi)
Prisha: Whitelighter (A very dedicated and studious Whitelighter. In love with a certain other blonde white lighter.... NOT MARLON)

Can I request Louis and Violet brotp headcanons?
hell yes you can anon!!
“Marlon! Help!”
Marlon turned to see Violet, violently waving her arms on the other end of the lawn, flagging him down.
He raised an eyebrow and drew close. “What? What’s happening?”
“It’s Aasim,” she said, out of breath. “He’s missing.”
Marlon raised his brow higher. “Why didn’t you just yell that at me? Why were you waving your arms?” He paused. “Why aren’t you more panicked?”
Marlon went to turn around and Violet gripped his shoulders, making their eye contact remain. “I am terrified. You gotta help me.”
Marlon sighed.
He didn’t know why she was acting so weird.
Peaking over his shoulder, Violet watched as Louis successfully snagged an extra lunch sandwich and darted back inside.
She loosened her grip. “Ah well. He’ll turn up sometime I guess.”
She darted off.
Marlon was left alone, flabbergasted.
Aasim turned the corner and approached. “What’s with all the yelling?”
Marlon was even more confused.
Louis and Violet split the sandwich inside.
“Good work, but a touch overdramatic.”
Violet scoffed. “Coming from you? Alright,”
Louis pretended to be offended.
Violet smiled and dug in.
“Let’s play cards.”
Violet groaned. “Lou, we always play cards after dinner.”
“That’s because it’s all we have, Violet.” Louis teased back.
Violet flipped him off.
“Then what do you recommend?” Mitch asked, leaning his cheek into his palm.
Vi smirked. “Hide and seek.”
Louis jumped from the table in surprised glee. “Violet, you genius!”
She smiled.
Violet won.
Louis was the one seeking.
She managed to hide in a crevice in a wall and nobody found her for an hour.
“Chumps!” She scoffed, happily after she was announced the victor.
Louis tossed her over his shoulder and ran around the lawn as punishment.
She hated it.
But she still laughed.
Violet reached over and stole a swing of Louis’ water while they were reading together in the music room.
She was draped over his legs reading a comic while he was sitting upright on the couch with a book.
He didn’t bat an eye.
They did it all the time.
“Play with my hair.”
Louis raised an eyebrow, turning from his bunk to face Violet in hers across the room. “What?”
“I can’t fall asleep and want to be relaxed.”
Louis hesitated but shrugged.
In a matter of minutes she was asleep.
Louis smirked and crawled back into his own bed. “Sweet dreams, Vi.”
“Louis, come on.” Aasim said, shooting him a glare. “Your jokes aren’t that funny. Knock it off.”
Violet froze, and dropped her spoon to stare at the male.
“What?” Louis asked, as if hurt.
“Stop trying so hard to impress people,” Aasm said with a scoff. “It’s not working.”
“Hey,” Violet snapped, slamming a fist on the table. “You better shut that mouth, Aasim.”
Aasim parted his lips to speak but Violet slammed her fist again.
He clamped his lips shut.
“Louis is the funniest person here, we all know it, and if you ever say otherwise again, I’ll rip all your hair out.”
Aasim’s eyes widened.
He knew she wasn’t joking.
“Hey,” Louis slipped up behind Violet as she started for bed after dinner.
She turned around, her gaze soft.
“Thanks for defending me back there.” He said with a shrug. “I know it sounds stupid, but it means a lot.”
Violet shrugged. “I got your back.”
Louis smiled and watched as she started away.
“Besides, I’m the only one allowed to make fun of you.”
Louis scoffed. “Screw you.”
“Back atcha.” She said, tossing a middle finger over her shoulder.
“See you at the room in half an hour?” Louis asked.
Vi smirked. “Sounds good.”
Nothing would ever separate them.
They both knew it.

I can literally hear Mitch's voice in his dialogue, his shenanigans are absolutely HILARIOUS, he sounds really authentic and his relationship with Willy is heartwarming and his friendship/brotp/rivalry thing he's got going on with Clementine is literally sO GOOD!! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*.✧
Please tell me your favorite things about my portrayal/muse?⤷ Accepting. || @agirlinhell.
Tumblr media
The BIGGEST compliment I’ve ever come to hear in any portrayal I do is that the voice is heard when reading over the dialogue. Whenever I write, I try so hard to capture what I can hear them saying in my head! So when someone says they hear it, I feel my heart warm up! Thank you so much! I say that your Clem has the same feeling when you write her ; I can hear the nuances of how she enunciates her sentences with every single word you put out for her!
DON’T GET ME STARTED ON WILLY AND MITCH! hands on chest It’s so pure! I can never get over the canon line of “ – but he was ALWAYS nice to me.” It breaks my heart every single time I go through that scene again, because it captures something we never knew about Mitch, and golly…I latched on to it so hardcore! It means a TON that you find it heartwarming, because I was worried it might be a bit annoying to write about so much (but I’m just a huge sap)! The day I get a Willy RP blog to come on and interact with me is the day I die – of happiness!
Honestly, the thing with Clem and Mitch we have is so funny and sweet, even though he can still be his usual self with her at times ; he wouldn’t be Mitch if he wasn’t a bit of a dick at times, though! The idea that once they get over the initial period of strife surrounding Marlon’s death (if he were to survive) that they’d get along better, makes me happy! He’d definitely have started to look outward from the school with her and go more toward a proactive approach, even if he didn’t care initially what they did when Marlon was in charge.

Hi, it's me again, said I'd come up with some new questions for you, here I am xD
Alright, I really don't want to overload you two, I already got way more from you than I ever expected, so I'll keep this short.
What do you think the Ericon Kids would draw if Tenn asked them to spend some time with him?
What do you think their biggest fears are?
That's a really weird one I know, you don't have to answer any of these of course, but... what do you think they would smell like? Every human being has an individual smell, even after spending years in the forest. This one I'm actually asking because my sister forced me to, she loves to tease me about Marlon and Louis (is a Violentine fan, that little traitor xD)
To make it easier, I'd say the questions are only for Louis, Marlon, Violet, Mitch and Brody. Of course if you want to add more, feel free to do that, I just really don't want to pressure you or anything, have been asking you a lot xD
Greetings from Germany and have a nice day!
Dang! First off, thanks for the questions, always fun to discuss different things for TWDG!
Also warning that this is a long post so get ready to read. Maybe grab a cup of tea first.
Alright, so this question is super cute! Art time with Tenn, our little hearts <3
Louis: We feel like it would depend on his mood. He would draw whatever came to mind. Maybe a doodle of him and his friends, maybe the music room. This would only be after Tenn is gone so not quite what the question asked. But when Clementine shows up and after they get together I'd say Louis would have fun drawing them as little doodles maybe him as a prince and her as a warrior princess. Both of them take down a dragon with AJ. Stuff like that.
Marlon: He would always be pretty exhausted but he'd make time to draw with Tenn here and there. His mind would blank easily on what to draw and would more like than not end up drawing some of the buildings of Erison. They are right there and he can't think of anything else. Although after a while he might doodle a dog or two.
Violet: She would be one of the ones to draw with Tenn the most and would agree pretty much anytime he asked. As for what she draws I'd say she'd draw stars a lot, birds would also be something she'd doodle too. Lots of time her mind blanks for what she wants to draw so she draws whatever. Clouds, grass, the gate, anything since to her its more that art makes Tenn happy and she gets to spend time with him.
Mitch: Well, we get to see a bit of what he draws in his notebook so I'd say he does similar art to that when with Tenn. So he draws cartoon bombs, walkers some on fire, some not, and some critters too. He wouldn't really show this to many of the others but he enjoys drawing flowers. Makes him feel happy.
Brody: She would probably draw the beach for starters but what she would work on time after time with Tenn is her dream road trip map. She would take way too much time making the lettering look right and the colors. She'd add any stops that Tenn or the others wanted. It would help the others get away from the intensity of reality and slip into this hopeful dream. Just them together on a road trip, no walkers, no worries.
Ruby: She would probably draw cowboys and flowers. She would get really into the narrative with Tenn when he asks about the cowboy's backstory and Willy ends up getting invested. So now they have a cowboy character that the three of them like to draw adventures for. Besides that, Ruby would probably try to draw her family and get emotional hoping that her mom, dad, and four brothers are okay.
Sophie: She would spend any and all time she could with her brother, especially if it's art. What she draws depends on the day, sometimes its cartoon looking animals or clouds and flowers. But when they start losing a lot of the Ericson kids before the events of TFS Sophie made it her duty to do portraits of them. She wanted them not to be forgotten and she wanted it so that if someone ever brought up someone like Therissa they could use Sophie's portrait of her to remember what she looked like. Maybe the drawing would even help them recall some memories too.
2. As for biggest fears some of them are in the game and get explored a bit like Louis and Violet.
Louis: Having to kill someone. We believe this was the answer one of the writers gave when asked this question. But we also believe he would fear that eventually everyone will just completely ignore him and he'd disappear into the background. This plays heavily into his low self-esteem issues.
Marlon: Failing the others as the leader, losing friends, and them finding out the secret of what happened with the twins. As it turns out his worst fears end up coming true in the game.
Violet: Being abandoned. You learn more about this on her route but she has deep abandonment issues and for good reason too. With how her grandma passed away along with the poor home life she had growing up, being sent away to Ericson then having Minnie disappear as well as one of her best friends, Sophie. It was a lot and she fears that if she gets abandoned once more she'll just completely shut off from the others and the world.
Mitch: Willy dying would probably be his biggest fear. He has been protecting him since the apocalypse started so since Willy was around 4. Willy is like a little brother to him, he's family. Also, we would add any of the younger kids dying as well so that includes Tenn too.
Brody: Most likely it's the others all dying or being taken away. She worries about that a lot, which gives her lots of panic attacks in the middle of the night, She fears the idea of being alone and being too weak to help keep those she cares about safe.
3. Huh, smell, okay, this is an interesting question. Okay well right off the bat let's say regardless of how much we love the Ericson kids to pieces they would all smell godawful. Eight years into the apocalypse would definitely make them stinky. So let's exclude that layer of smell they would have as well as the smell of blood and the potential walker guts on them.
Louis: We say that he smells like pine cone or evergreen trees, so he smells like a forest. But he also smells of dust, paper and candle wax since he spends all his time in the music.
Marlon: He smells like Teen Spirit (lol). Okay on a serious note, since he sleeps in the headmaster's office and Rosie is always with him and extremely cuddly he would most likely smell heavily of dog.
Violet: She smells of moss and vines. This is due to how frequently she climbs up onto the wall and lays down on it. With how many years of the apocalypse have occurred, those walls are vine-filled and mossy so that's what she smells like.
Mitch: He smells like fertilizer due to all the bombs he works on.
Brody: She smells like rain, there is something really nice and calming about it (We joke that after Mitch catches feelings for her he tends to not shut up about liking rain).
Omar: He smells like smoke from the fire and like rabbit and fish. This is the price for being a chef you wind up smelling like the ingredients and materials you work with.
Aasim: He smells like deodorant because of the deodorant stash he keeps but he also tends to smell like smoke as well. That boy loves his flames.
Thanks for the ask!

I'm hyped so let's gooo
-Louis and Sith Marlon confrontation that you mentioned, who wins? Or what is the outcome, does Marlon come back to the light there or later?
-Any signature moves they do in battle? Thought of a Star Wars AU before, but for Pokémon, my favorite, Paul, would have two double lightsabers he would let fly around with the force, similar to a circular saw. Anything like that for the Ericson kids?
-Who's strongest with the force? Clementine, being the chosen one, doesn't have to be as we have seen in the movies
-What clothes do they wear throughout their lives? Do the Sith Kids (how weird that sounds...) wear masks?
-aaaand last but not least, what part do they take in the original Star Wars story? Do they know any of the characters, Anakin, Obi-Wan, Plo-Koon etc.?
I got more ideas for other AU's, if you're interested, I'll throw them at you xD
Alright, more Jedi au let's go!!
Louis and Sith Marlon's confrontation
It's a pretty intense battle where Louis tries to help Marlon recall the good within himself and who he is at his core. He does his best to mention the others and that he should come home. Marlon is too lost in the force and his emotions to let that register though. He is the more aggressive fighter in this fight and in general. Louis struggles to bring himself to fight Marlon at all since he's like his brother. He's family. Louis ends up getting grazed on the side with Marlon's lightsaber and Marlon freaks out at his own actions and runs away.
Signature moves
Mitch would probably throw his double-sided lightsaber in the air and let it spin around with the force. Before Order 66 Louis would always add flair to his fights and would use the force dramatically. Afterwards though, he is a bit more cautious with his usual dramatic signature moves. Besides that, we figure most of them have a pretty standard move set. It would more likely depend on the battle and how they would use the force to aid them and get the upper hand in battle.
Strongest with the Force
Clementine has the best balance with the Force but the strongest in the force would be Louis, Minnie and Tenn. Louis doesn't like hurting others and he is especially guilt-ridden by the fact that he has to fight friends who turned to the Dark Side. Minnie was another padawan that the Jedi Council was nervous about due to her bond with the Force. They made sure to hard wire it into her that if she let her emotions loose then that could harm her family. That worked into scaring her into discipline until Order 66 when her emotions were too powerful to temper anymore. Tenn was one that the Council knew was strong with the Force but that he felt his emotions too strongly whenever he got emotional so they did a similar treatment with him as they did with his older sister.
Clothes
Honestly, most of the Ericson kids stay in their padawan clothes before switching to Jedi robes and cloaks. Sometimes this changes though due to them having to hide away from being hunted. As for those who became Sith, Marlon and Minnie wear masks more out of shame and guilt for switching sides. Meanwhile Violet wears one more so to hide the burns marks she had sustained from the Sith's "persuasive" techniques. Brody wears a hood most of the time and has clothes that are easy to move around in and unrestrictive. Prisha has more of an armor-type look to her clothes plus a hood. Her left arm is now a mechanical one due to the Sith's "persuasive" techniques as well.
Where does this take place in the Original Star Wars
Since Order 66 happened we guess it mainly takes place around there. If any of the original Star Wars characters were to be named it would be more so as legendary or mythical names. People that they have heard about but never really run into within the au.
Thanks for the ask and sure, throw those au ideas at us! We love talking about aus! You mentioned the word Pokemon in this ask so if you want you can hear about the Pokemon au we have or any of our other established ones too!

Ericson kids as mha characters 👉👈
OOO! This is fun! We decided to not include Tenn, Willy, or AJ since they wouldn't be in the same superhero classes as the others.
Okay, let's go!
Clem: Deku- main character, strong desire to be a hero, would sacrifice her safety for others
Louis: Kaminari- He's goofy but is also powerful, would also fry his brain with his powers
Violet: Todoroki- tragic backstory fits, hates dad, powerful but controls it well
Marlon: Ojiro- Idk we think Marlon would have being a sort of monkey dude and he would kick ass by whacking people with his tail
Mitch: Bakugo- explosion powers, a hothead Mitch would be a lot nicer though and have more of a friendly rival with Clem
Brody: Uraraka- gravity powers, a sweet kind person who wants to help others, Although when anxious she might have some trouble with her powers
Omar: Tsuyu- easy going but blunt plus Omar would vibe with having the frog-like abilities
Ruby: Ibara- she has plant abilities and Ruby would like that
Aasim: Iida- both nerds, serious but caring and we think Aasim would enjoy having that hero ability
Minnie: Kirishima- she vibes with the ability and would want to give her all as a hero
Sophie: Ashido- bubbly, friendly, and Sophie would have a lot of fun with her acid powers
James: Tokoyami- he would look dark and mysterious but is a pretty chill dude. Also, the shadow and James would be besties
Adding some of our ocs too!
Prisha: Momo- she enjoys inventing things and is a huge nerd so the ability fits her
Renata: Aoyama- she is just as over the top, she would love the belly button beam and would always be smiling

Countries/States that each of the ericsons would like to go ???
Ooo, good ask! Okay let's see
Clem: She would probably enjoy driving aimlessly and seeing what all the states had to offer. Outside of America, she'd probably look up the best spots to check out and go there. Definitely going to go to Paris too to spend time with a special someone.
Louis: He wants to go anywhere and everywhere. He would have a blast going to all the different places and the funds to comfortably do so. Probably one of his favorite spots would be Paris.
Violet: She'd want to see the Grand Canyon so that's where she'd head. She would go on along with others if they set up a road trip. Besides that, Russia would be cool to visit and India too but she'd probably go with a certain someone. It's Prisha.
Marlon: He seems like the all-American boy so he'd probably focus more on the states and would point out that he'd like to visit LA, New York, probably North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota (that's where we think he was born so it's home to him)
Brody: She would dream about going to all fifty states and doing this big road trip. That would be her goal. Mitch would help soup up an RV and get it all set to go. Brody would probably take along anyone who wants to come with so Louis is definitely going to be a travel buddy of hers. After the road trip, Louis would get Brody to go with him on the tour of the world.
Mitch: He would be down for all the weird attractions with Willy. Both of them are the most hype about that. Plus Mitch gets to spend time with Brody so he's going to all the states. Outside of America, hmmm not sure but if Louis is footing the bill for the world trip he'd probably tag along.
Aasim: He probably has one of those maps of all the States with slots over each state for the state coins and he will get all those state coins. He needs them. Outside of America, he would probably like to see Greece and Rome and also India.
Ruby: She would probably want to go to Texas and some of the southern states. Outside of that, honestly, she'd probably just go along with places Brody is excited about. She'd be happy to have a bestie road trip with her.
Willy: He would probably be more focused on the "coolest" state attractions. World's Largest Buffalo Monument in North Dakota? Um Yes. Fremont Troll in Seattle? Let's go! The Corn Palace in South Dakota? He's already in the car and bouncing in his seat impatiently.
AJ: When he was asked this question he just answered with Legoland and Disneyland then got upset that they weren't states or countries. Luckily, on the all states road trip they would stop there. As long as he can be with friends and Clem he's chill with wherever they go. Just make sure Legoland and Disneyland are on the list of stops.
Tenn: Tennessee, obviously, lol. Nah, well, he probably would like that but honestly, Tenn would like to go wherever his sisters go. He'd probably love all the music and art experiences he would have with them.
Omar: Omar would join the all states road trip and just focus on all the different types of food. Outside of America, he would enjoy visiting Tokyo, Japan, Lyon, France, Barcelona, Spain
Sophie: She would totally be down for a road trip of all the States but outside of America, she'd want to visit some art centers of the world. So Paris, Venice, Berlin, London, Shanghai. Honestly watch Louis foot the bill for all these trips for his friends.
Minnie: Based on the calendar we see in the room that Clementine wakes up in TFS and it being the twins' old room Grand Canyon is a must of what both Sophie and Minnie want to see. Besides that, she'd want to go to the most musically talented or states/cities known for music. So New York, LA, Chicago, Nashville, Tennessee, spots like that. Also would be down with going to Mexico.
James: He would probably just go where the wind takes him in terms of States so he's fine with going to any of them. Besides that, South Korea would be on his list of places to visit.
Long story short it looks like the Ericson kids are all going on a road trip together and it starts off something like this
Louis, on the phone which has the speaker on: Vi, come out!
Violet: I'm gay
Brody: No, to the car.
Violet: Car, I'm gay
Everyone:
Sophie: I've got her
Five minutes later
Sophie: *walking out of the apartment with Violet held up like a cat in her arms* I've got the grumpy one! Roadtrip time! :D
Everyone: *cheers*

I Like You The Bestest
Summary: Louis waits impatiently for Clementine to arrive at school
Word Count: 1941
Read on AO3:
The sun was warm today as it peeked through the clouds, its rays pushing through the leaves and highlighting the veins on them. The cool breeze helped with the temperature, making sure it wasn’t too hot or too cold but a happy medium. Not that it mattered much to the kindergartners as they jogged towards the front door, their backpacks bouncing as they got ready for another day of school. One kindergartner seemed keen on waiting outside though. Louis bounced excitedly on the balls of his feet, his hands firm on the straps of his backpack as he waited.
“Hey Louis, wanna head inside?” Marlon asked with a smile but Louis shook his head.
“No, I wanna wait for Clem.” Louis spotted the frown on his best friend’s lips. “Buuut we can play superheroes during recess today.”
Marlon’s eyes were big as they shimmered with happiness. “Deal!” He grinned and dashed off inside, ready to get the boring stuff out of the way and get to recess already. Louis watched his friend bump into Minnie who gave a small frown before brushing off the collision. A moment later though Louis’ gaze returned to the parking lot and he waited. Patience wasn’t his strong suit. Time seemed to drag on like molasses and each second felt like a year to him until finally, he spotted the girl he was looking for. Clementine strolled up with a purple backpack on, the little pink and yellow flower sticker standing out proudly on it. She seemed to be in a tired mood as she kept walking.
“Clem!” Louis grinned and waved excitedly when Clementine spotted him. Immediately her entire expression brightened and she picked up her pace.
“Hi, Louis!” Clementine smiled as he ran towards her, his hug making her smile grow as he swayed them back and forth.
“There! Now that I gave you your morning hug we can go inside!” Louis grabbed onto Clementine’s hand and walked towards the entrance of school. He swayed their hands back and forth as he hummed a happy tune. His day always seemed brighter with Clementine by his side.
As soon as Louis held onto Clementine’s hand he was determined not to let go but his first obstacle appeared fairly quickly. The little kindergartener stared at the nameplate on the desk next to his: Therissa. He didn’t want to sit next to her though, he wanted to be next to Clementine. After brainstorming and letting the gears spin around in his young mind he stomped on over to Therissa who looked to be about to eat a glue stick.
“Therissa, I want you to switch spots!” Louis demanded, trying to be intimidating as possible. It wasn’t very effective though and Therissa just looked at him casually.
“Okay, I want the candy in your bag though,”
“What?”
“I saw candy in there yesterday. So we’re gonna trade: candy for a seat with your girlfriend.”
“Wife! She’s my wife!’ Louis corrected with a huff. Therissa didn’t seem fazed again nor did she respond to that outburst right away.
“So, candy?”
Louis frowned deeply. “Fine.” He rummaged around in his backpack and got out a single partially melted packet of Skittles which Therissa pocketed gratefully. She immediately disappeared though when Ms. Martin went over to ask Louis why he was being so loud and gently reminded him what happens when you misbehave in the classroom. Louis kept nodding along and said he knew that when out of the corner of his eye he spotted Therissa sneakily switching nameplates.
“Louis? What’s with that big smile?” Ms. Martin asked and watched the kindergartener look up at her with a wide grin.
“Because it's a good day!”
Ms. Martin blinked at his response then smiled warmly. She was glad to hear at least one student was excited for the school day. After a minute she went over to talk with Mitch who seemed to have gotten into a stupid fight with Aasim over something, giving Louis the chance to walk over with Clementine to the table. Both of them couldn’t stop smiling as their plan had worked and due to Ms. Martin’s busy schedule and more than energetic class she didn’t notice that the table placement had changed.
The day went by quickly. Louis worked hard to get his assignments done, wanting to impress Clementine who seemed just as eager to show off to him as well. She was going to show counting who was boss and look like the coolest kindergarten in the whole class.
That didn’t turn out to be the case when Clementine declared loudly that she had five beans and Ms. Martin said she was wrong. Instantly the wind left her sails which only made what happened next sting worse.
Mitch gave a small laugh which made Clementine shoot a look over his way.
“What?”
“Nothing,” He smirked. “I can count more beans than you can.” Mitch stuck out his tongue and Clementine stood up abruptly, her chair clattering to the ground as she stomped over to Mitch and threw an eraser at his face. Ruby gasped softly at the violent scene before her but it only escalated. Mitch quickly picked up the eraser and threw it back then proceeded to toss his beans at Clementine. Her eyes flared up at that and she reached out for him.
“You have a stupid face!” Clementine wrestled with Mitch who fell to the floor and started fighting back.
“Oh yeah? Well look in the mirror,” He spun around on the ground with Clementine. Some kids like Violet and Minnie seemed chill with the fight. Others like Brody and Ruby, on the other hand, were worried about it. The fight was long, vicious, and cutthroat in the kindergartners’ minds. In reality, though they rolled around three times for two minutes before getting picked up and separated by Ms. Martin.
“That's enough, you two. How many times have I told you not to fight?” She looked back and forth between the pair.
“I wouldn’t fight her if she wasn’t stupid,” Mitch grumbled and frowned deeper when Clementine stuck her tongue out at him. Those last actions the kindergarteners displayed had been the final straw. Within seconds they were in their timeout corners and watched as the rest of the class got to go outside for recess.
Louis stood there in shock. He hadn’t moved at all since he’d almost got in trouble while switching the nameplates earlier and was worried he wouldn’t get a second chance. But now Clementine was in the timeout corner. They were separated.
While Louis was stuck in his guilt about not helping Clementine, Brody was happily walking away, pretending not to hear Mitch calling out for her. She was obviously not a fan of what he pulled just now. “Let’s go, Louis,” Brody grabbed her friend’s hand and pulled him outside.
“Brody! It was Clem’s fault!” Mitch called out but it was too little too late and those words weren’t what the auburn wanted to hear.
Once she was outside Brody was ready to ask Louis if he wanted to play in the sandbox with her and Ruby but Marlon quickly scampered forward. His jacket was wrapped around him and fluttered like a cape. “Ready to be heroes, Lou?” He beamed as he placed his hands on his hips.
Immediately Louis mirrored his best friend’s expression and mannerism. “Yeah!”
“Awesome! See ya, Brody!” Marlon gave a wave as he ran off, Louis right behind him and working to get his jacket on like a cape.
Both boys owned the playground, making large leaps and cool sound effects as they saved imaginary citizens. Louis sent out cheesy quip after cheesy quip while Marlon settled on the generic superhero phrases. The two of them were having the time of their lives, inseparable when together as they stood back to back.
“Evil better watch out!” Louis looked over at his best friend with a grin.
“Yeah, we’re gonna kick its butt!” Marlon jumped down and landed with a heavy thud. Louis scrambled over to the monkey bars and swung wildly as he gave a never-ending commentary.
Recess was over before they knew it and soon Ms. Martin was calling them back inside. It took Louis no time at all to spot Clementine, frowning and slumped in her chair.
“You doing okay, Clem?”
“No. Mitch is a stupidhead,” She sent a look over at Mitch who stuck his tongue out but as soon as there was the possibility of Ms. Martin spotting them, they both stopped. Clementine was still bitter though long after the break and she held onto her grouchiness until she felt Louis tap her shoulder.
“I got some stickers from the treasure box last week. You want one?” He held out his hand secretly and looked over to see where Ms. Martin was. She was currently busy explaining to Omar why he had to partner up and the importance of teamwork. Louis quickly glanced back and held up a cat sticker, turtle, and a rainbow. Clementine studied them for a few minutes then tapped the cat one.
“That one for me and this one for you. We can put them on during lunch,” Clementine whispered conspiratorially.
“Ooo! Okay,” Louis whispered back and giggled with excitement. He couldn’t wait for lunch break.
As the seconds ticked by, his legs kicked enthusiastically under the table until Ms. Martin finally announced that it was lunch. Without waiting a second longer, Louis grabbed Clementine’s hand and ran outside but suddenly stopped. His eyes were wide as he redirected and went back inside. He didn’t bother asking for permission as he grabbed the little toy piano then ran outside with Clementine. Both of them made their way towards the tree and sat down by the patch of wildflowers. Silently, Louis worked to get the backs off the stickers while Clementine picked some tiny flowers.
“Come on, don’t be a meanie!” Louis scolded the stickers as he worked on them, completely unaware that Clementine was putting little flowers in his dreadlocks. A minute or two later Louis let out a little victory cheer at getting one sticker free. With a dramatic flair, he placed the cat sticker on Clementine’s shirt then worked to get his turtle one on. “These stickers are so cool!” Louis beamed and bounced excitedly on the ground until a small flower fell down onto his lap. His brows furrowed, his hand silently reaching up and feeling the different flowers in his hair.
“I wanted you to look extra pretty today,” Clementine explained as she swayed back and forth. Louis was silent for a second, his eyes wide before he reached over and wrapped Clementine in a hug.
“Now I am extra pretty, Thanks, Clem!”
Clementine returned the hug and held on tight. “You’re welcome.”
Louis kept going on and on about whatever he thought of until he redirected the conversation back to Clementine. “Wanna know a secret?” Louis whispered and watched Clementine’s curiosity grow. She gave a short nod and Louis leaned towards her ear.
“I like you the bestest,”
Clementine’s mouth went slightly ajar at that and she saw Louis grin big.
“I like you the bestest too.”
She was sure Louis’ smile couldn’t get any bigger but it did and he excitedly reached for the toy piano.
“We gotta celebrate this with a song!”
“Okay, I’ll get our lunches set up like a picnic,” Clementine grabbed the lunch boxes and began to work while overly enthusiastic music notes filled the air. Both of them were far too excited from their mutual confessions and neither wanted lunch to ever end.

Romantic Gesture Gone Wrong
Summary: Minnie tries to do a romantic gesture to impress Renata but it all goes terribly wrong.
Word Count: 1707
Read on AO3:
“You know what would be romantic?” Renata leaned back in her chair, balancing a spoon on her nose. Minnie tried to listen while acting casual. She wanted any sort of hints she could get on how to be romantic with her girlfriend.
“Are you gonna finish that pudding cup?” Sophie asked. Her attention was fully on food and not what her best friend had just said.
“Nope! You can have it,” Renata pushed the pudding cup forward and watched with amusement as Sophie made grabby hands before downing the food. “Damn, Soph, ever think of entering a food-eating competition?”
“Totally! I think I could kick ass at it!” Sophie grinned proudly then using her best subtlety she tried to snag Minnie’s bag of chips. Once she received a swat on her hand though she stopped. Or she did for all of five seconds before trying again while chatting with Renata. They were busy talking about the latest math test, both confused how one had gotten three hundred and two as an answer and the other got negative five.
The statement that Renata had said moments ago was still bugging Minnie. What did she find romantic? Flowers? Riding together on a motorcycle? Some kind of dancing? It was eating away at Minnie while Sophie tried to prove that she could make farting noises with her armpit. It got to the point where she couldn’t stay silent any longer; Minnie had to know.
“What do you find romantic, Ren?”
The sudden addition of Minnie’s voice made Renata stop her laughter at her best friend’s shenanigans and look over.
“Hmmm? Oh! Well, I think that it would be romantic to go on a late-night adventure. Sneaking out through the window after being woken up by my hot girlfriend who came to rescue me from the boredom of sleep. I don’t know, I thought it’d be neat,” Renata smiled then refocused on something else, leaving Minnie with that idea.
Was that really romantic? Minnie figured sneaking into Renata’s house would be weird but everyone had different ideas on what romance was. She mulled over the idea for the next few days. Her mind kept pulling back and forth on whether it was a good idea or not. She had seen movies where the love interest would throw pebbles at the window and she had already serenaded Renata while outside her window in the past but Renata specifically said sneaking in when she spoke about what was romantic. Minnie agreed it would be a romantic adventure and being out at night where the world was quiet and it would be just the two of them sounded too great to pass up. So Minnie worked up her courage and planned to sneak out that night.
Once she was sure that Sophie was asleep, Minnie rose from her own bed and tiptoed past her twin. All she needed was her bike; she could pick some wild flowers for Renata after they’d snuck out together. All Minnie had to do was sneak out of her house and into Renata’s. She made sure not to wake up James or any of her younger brothers then once she reached the door she pulled a gray hoodie on. After getting out of the house and tossing her hood up, Minnie rode her bicycle over to the Everett residence.
With big, deep breaths she shook off her nerves and started to climb the tree right by Renata’s room, carefully watching her footing as she walked the tree branch and shimmied open the window. As she entered the room Minnie’s heart froze. She had forgotten that Renata shared a room with her sisters. Which bed was hers again? Minnie’s eyes struggled to adjust to the dark and she tried to remain quiet. A sound that was reminiscent of a tea kettle kept humming in the room. Minnie was starting to freak out until she remembered that Renata kept talking about the left side of her bedroom. So Minnie went that way.
“Ren? Babe, it’s me,” Minnie reached out and gently shook the sleeping form “I’m here to take you away on an adventure,” She watched as the form sleepily shifted around but when a voice suddenly spoke, it wasn't Renata’s.
“An adventure, huh? Is that some kind of code, you creep?” Prisha spun around, grabbing a wiffle bat from under her bed and whacking Minnie’s side with it. “Think you can break into our house and try to kidnap my little sister!” Prisha swung out again, startling Minnie who fell to the ground in terror. Her face was completely hidden by her hood.
“Shit, wait!” Minnie called out but got bonked on the head with the wiffle bat. This whole plan was going to shit. “I’m not a creep, it’s me-”
“Ha! You can’t fool me!” Prisha kept up her offensive attack, swinging wildly. The sounds soon woke up Renata and caused her little teapot snores to stop.
“Prish, why are you playing baseball so late at night?” Renata blinked away the sleep from her eyes before they grew large when she saw Prisha was hitting a person. And not just any person. “Ren, call your sister off!” Minnie curled up in the fetal position as the bat kept bonking her. It didn’t hurt much at all but she was overwhelmed all the same.
“Prisha, stop! That’s-”
Renata was cut off as loud footsteps stormed down the hall before the door flew open revealing Mitch and Marlon.
“What the hell?!?” Marlon watched as Prisha still swung the wiffle bat.
“Some pervert broke through the window and tried to kidnap Renata!” Prisha yelled. Her words caused a strong reaction from her brothers. Marlon immediately moved to pick up Renata and pull her back to safety.
“Hey, cut it out! That’s Min!” Renata squirmed frantically but her siblings were too lost in their protective instincts to listen.
“Eat pain, asshole!” Mitch yelled as he grabbed Prisha’s nearby pepper spray and aimed it at Minnie. Without hesitation, he slammed his finger down on the nozzle but he had faced it the wrong way. He quickly became a victim of his own actions as the pepper spray wafted through the air and towards his eyes. Just as the pepper spray was traveling back Aasim walked into the room.
“What on earth is going on?” he asked, stopping just behind Mitch before getting hit with the pepper spray as well. In almost perfect unison the two brothers cried out in pain. Both stumbled back and fell to the floor as they covered their faces.
It was complete chaos in the room and all the noise had finally woken Clementine up. With a sleepy yawn, she sat up and looked around with bleary eyes.
“Clem, thank goodness you’re up! Help me beat up this creep!” Prisha instructed while Renata kept trying to get free from Marlon’s arms.
“No! That’s the love of my life!”
“Love of your life?” Minnie peeked her head out and looked at Renata with big eyes before getting bonked again on the head. On instinct, she hid once more.
“Lies! Did this pervert tell you to say that?” Prisha shot back then glanced back at her youngest sister. “Clementine, help me out here!” Clementine stared into the darkness with a puzzled look before yawning and smacking her lips loudly twice. Without a word she pulled the covers over her shoulder and went back to sleep despite all the commotion.
While she could sleep through it Carley and Lee couldn’t as they ran down the hallway and into the girls’ room.
“What is going on?” Lee asked a baseball bat lifted and ready to strike.
“Who the hell is that?” Carley looked over at her oldest as she kept up the attacks until her mom pulled her back to keep her safe. After realizing no more attacks were coming at the moment, Minnie threw her hood off.
“Wait! Mr. and Mrs. Everett! It’s me, Minnie!” Minnie rose up to her feet and held up her hands.
“Minnie? What are you doing here so late at night?” Carley asked. The rest of her family was just as surprised by this reveal.
“I was trying to be romantic since Ren said she’d want to go on a late-night adventure,” Minnie hid her eyes.
“It was all my idea so you can’t be upset with Minnie!” Renata chimed in as she stood protectively in front of her girlfriend. Carley and Lee were silent as they shared a look, trying to figure out what to do.
Matthew was perfectly content as he nuzzled against Walter’s face and melted into his husband’s embrace. He always loved when night came around and the problems of the day were gone leaving him to simply enjoy Walter’s presence. At least that's how it normally would be but not tonight as his phone rang loudly. With a tired grumble, he slipped out of Walter’s arms and picked up the phone.
“Hello?”
“Matthew,” Lee’s voice appeared on the other side of the line.
“Oh hey, Lee, what’s up?” Matthew asked as Walter sat up and turned on a side light.
“It’s your daughter, Minnie. You’re gonna have to pick her up.”
Matthew’s brows furrowed “What?”
He silently listened as Lee explained everything. “Okay, yeah we’ll be right there.”
“What’s wrong? Is Minnie okay?” Walter’s voice wavered with concern.
“Yeah, turns out she tried to sneak over to Lee and Carley’s place to see her girlfriend.” Matthew worked to get up and get ready to drive over there. After giving a quick explanation, he kissed Walter then left. It wasn’t a long drive over to the Everett’s and when he arrived he could see his daughter hiding her face as she sat on the front steps in embarrassment.
“Minnie, you okay? Are you hurt?”
“Just my pride,” Minnie sniffled and wiped at her nose. “I was so stupid.”
“Alright, well you can tell me all about it on the drive home but we are going to have to talk about some ground rules now.” Matthew gave a short wave to Lee and Carley then walked off with Minnie.
“Okay,” Minnie sighed and stuffed her hands in her pockets.
She felt like such an idiot.

Besides complimenting you on you stuff here, which I still would like to compliment nonetheless xD I actually came up with some questions this night. 1. What are your opinions on Marlon and Louis? And I mean in full detail, their design, outfits, attitude, relationships with other kids, development... give me all you got >:) and 2. Got any weirdly cute headcanons for them? Can't say it enough, love your work here and am glad to finally have found you xD
Aww thank you for the kind words, it really warms our hearts to hear that you like our work!
Okay now onto thoughts about Marlon and Louis first off just gonna start with the fact that we love these two a whole lot. Now that that has been established on to the different details.
Design/Outfits: Starting off with Marlon we love his design and outfit. He looks like what you would assume when you hear the words: troubled youth. Even has that 80's vibe going for him with the mullet and you guess based on first looks that he may be a worse leader than he is. You would think that he leads the others poorly but besides his one horrible mistake, he really does do right by them and cares deeply about them. Louis has got this really cool, effortlessly fashionable look that fits his personality well. He doesn't have a ton of pieces on but they're classic and work together. Despite looking effortless he puts a lot of work into his looks. We also love all of his freckles and he looks so lovable.
Attitudes: Marlon has a nice chill attitude to him when he's with his friends, that's clear during the card game. We enjoy how deeply caring he is for the others like in the scene in the headmaster's office. Even when he's at his lowest point you can tell that he's scared and spiraling trying to find some way to still be the leader the others need even though he can't be after what he's done. Louis has this great carefree playful attitude that is really charming. He always seems like a bright and happy person but throughout the game, you can see his more pessimistic side. You get to see him being vulnerable during his route and it adds a lot of complexity to him as a character.
Relationship with other kids: It is clear that Marlon cares about everyone and for the most part, treats them fairly. Since he's only around for one episode we don't see his interactions with everyone. It's obvious from how people react to Marlon's death, especially Mitch, that they cared deeply about him even if we didn't get to see all of the interactions. We do get to see his interactions with Louis and Violet though, both of which are charming and you can see that they are good friends. They sorta formed the original trio of Ericson. It's fun to see the range of different interactions Louis has with people. It seems like people either love being around him or settle into a friendly annoyance with him since he won't stop being their friend. You can tell from his moments at the table with Marlon that they were extremely close and in Episode 3 whether Louis or Violet are taken you get to learn more about how much they care about each other too.
Development: We think for what we got from a single episode Marlon has good development. By the nature of his death, you get the feeling that his time was cut short and there was more to him. It has made us want to go back and write stuff in OG while Marlon was still alive to understand him better because he's a compelling character. Louis has great character development and one of the best arcs in the entire game. You get to see him grow from a carefree and sometimes selfish person into someone who steps up and wants to protect Ericson and his loved ones. You also see him go from discrediting his own worth and masking that with humor to him realizing he can make a difference in the lives of those he loves.
Now that the first question is answered onto cute Louis Marlon brotp headcanons:
They have joking competitions after dinner
Cards games between them are always a must
They help each other with their hair, Louis helps shave the sides of Marlon's mullet and Marlon helps Louis maintain his dreads
Louis helped Marlon learn how to whistle so that he could teach Rosie new tricks
Marlon was the one to give Louis his deck of cards. He had found it on a scavenging mission
Sometimes Marlon goes to the music room to spend time with Louis and get away from the pressures of being the leader
They are each other's number one fans and hype men, they always work to be there for each other and encourage each other
They used to live in the same dorm before Marlon moved to the headmaster's office because he was working all the time
They'd stay up with each other when one of them was nervous and would talk about whatever to help calm down
Thanks again for the wonderful ask!

The Eye of Captain Kidd
Summary: Louis and Clementine go on a double date with Ruby and Aasim where things don't go according to plan...
Word Count: 5407
Read on AO3:
Louis’ boots thunked gently against the wooden steps as he made his way above decks. The bright afternoon sun made the pirate captain lift up a hand to shield his eyes as a warm smile overtook his face. The gentle sea breeze brushed through his hair, causing his dreadlocks to sway this way and that as his gaze traversed the upper deck of Ol’ Kickass. Willy and AJ were in the midst of a rather lively duel. Each young pirate threw around piratey insults with such heart that none of the older members of the crew wanted to let them know that their insults made little to no sense. Willy hopped up onto the edge of the ship and wrapped his arm around a rope while he gave a toothy grin to his friend.
“Hey that’s not fair!” AJ gave an angry pout, his nose scrunching in annoyance as he looked at his older friend.
“It’s totally fair! Right, Tenn?” Willy’s question made the gentlest of the pirates glance up from the sketch he was doing of their duel with a small smile.
“I feel like it's a bit unfair,” Tenn’s words made Willy give a groan, a small frown pulling on his lips.
“Fine,” Willy hopped down. “I’m still gonna kick your ass though!”
“Heh, you wish, stupidhead,” AJ lunged forward with his wooden sword which Willy blocked with a laugh.
Louis chuckled softly as he shook his head. He was glad that the youngest of the pirates were having fun and not feeling a care in the world. His eyes wandered over to Marlon who was sidestepping this way and that as Rosie wagged her short stub tail and panted happily. A worn-down, twisted series of old clothes that formed the pitbull’s makeshift toy was in Marlon’s hand before he gave a hefty toss towards the wheel. The drool-covered rag toy landed beside Omar’s feet, causing the cook to stop his conversation with Brody about the favorite locations they had discovered thanks to their life of piracy.
Brody looked confused for a moment until she saw Rosie bounding forward and lunging at the toy with a playful wag of her tail. The pitbull happily munched on the toy while Brody and Omar crouched down and began to shower her with many loving pats. Louis glanced over towards the center of the deck where Prisha and Violet lay in a hammock. Violet’s arms dangled over the side while Prisha’s arm was protectively wrapped around her love. The hammock gently swayed from the wind. The two seemed to be in a serene state of peace now that they were in each other's arms.
“Are you prepared?” Aasim’s voice made Louis turn his attention to the starboard side of the ship where his friend and cartographer stolled forward in his sharp red pirate coat. His fluffy shirt collar and lacey wrists always made Louis chuckle internally but after being berated by Ruby a few times about teasing Aasim on this topic, Louis felt it best to just leave it be.
“I sure am!” Louis gave a big grin to his friend. “A date with my darling and two of my dear friends in the fair town of Silvermoon. Nothing could make me happier!”
Aasim’s eyes flickered with an emotion Louis was unsure of when he said the name of the town but it was gone in an instant. Before Louis could pry, the warm, comforting voice of their ship’s healer appeared. Ruby walked beside Clementine who shared a kind smile with Louis as she made her way towards him. “What are y’all talking about?”
“Simply the joys of being able to share this splendid day with our loves,” Aasim leaned over and placed a tender, soft kiss on Ruby’s cheek. The romantic gesture made Ruby’s already red cheek grow brighter as she looked over at Aasim.
“Aww you’re too sweet, Pookie,” Her hand reached for her love’s, intertwining it with her own.
“So where are we heading today?” Clementine asked with excitement in her eyes.
“I say we grab some grub in the finest establishment,” Louis played with his captain hat for a second before jogging forward and interlocking his hand with Clem’s. The gesture made Clementine’s smile grow.
“Sounds good to me. Should we head out?” She looked over at the other couple who both nodded.
“Yes, let’s.” Aasim led the way with Ruby down towards the docks while Clementine and Louis followed close behind. Clementine leaned over and planted a quick kiss on Louis’ cheek, causing the pirate to give a goofy grin before his eyes grew large as his love snatched his hat and placed it on her head.
“You’re quite the sneaky one,” Louis smiled over at Clemenitne who had a smug expression on her face.
“True. I just thought that the hat would look good on me,”
“You look beautiful,” Louis whispered, causing both pirates to blush. Louis quickly cleared his throat and looked back toward Ol’ Kickass. “We’ll be back before sunset. Make sure to keep the ship safe.”
“Aye aye, captain,” Mitch gave a smirk from the port end of the ship before he turned his attention back to the younger pirates. “I’m gonna show you how to fuck up some bandits.”
Clementine shook her head and continued to walk beside Louis. The two couples made their way into the town.
“I saw that Prisha and Violet were conked out of the upper deck hammock,” Ruby spoke up as she led the way with Aasim.
“It seems they stayed up all of last night working on a new fighting technique for Violet to help with her blindspots.” Aasim stated, his eyes looking a little sad at the last part of his sentence.
“So that’s what all the noise was last night. Now wonder they passed out,” Clementine exclaimed.
“Yeah, I got up for watch duty on the crow’s nest and I saw them practicing.” Louis added. The four were silent for a moment, taking in the loss their friend had received to heart. Louis glanced down, worried about Clementine’s peg leg.
“Caught ya!” Clementine’s playful voice startled Louis as he looked up at her.
“Shit, sorry.” he apologized. “I didn’t mean to stare.”
“Nothing to be sorry for,” Clementine’s smile faltered for a second when she saw that her words did little to lift up Louis’ mood. “Hey, I’m going to be careful. If I feel like the pain gets to be too much, I’ll let you know.”
“There’s nothing to worry about, Louis,” Ruby looked back at her friend. “With the three of us here we could drag Clem back to Ol’ Kickass if we needed to.”
Louis gave a short nod.
“Let’s focus on the double date,” Aasim’s voice drew the others’ attention. “I happen to know of a great place here called The Lost Cove. Surprisingly, even though it bears that name it has awful seafood but their chicken dish with rosemary and garlic potatoes is phenomenal.”
“Sounds delicious,” Clementine’s stomach practically growled at the thought of the food.
“Wait, wait, wait,” Louis stopped in his tracks causing the other three to do the same. “How do you know about good food in this port town? We’ve never set foot in Silvermoon before.”
Aasim’s eyes grew slightly large before he glanced at the ground. “Well, you see,” He rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment, “This was one of towns I pulled a con in,” “Really?” Ruby looked surprised at that as did the other two before they burst out laughing.
“Better watch out for the guards then or they might recognize you and think you’re itching for another good con!” Louis gave his friend a teasing smile.
“No, they won't. He didn’t have his goatee back then,” Clementine’s words made Louis chuckle harder.
“Holy shit, you’re right!” “No, she isn't’!” Aasim gave an angry huff. “I did have my goatee back then.” His words did little to stop the couple from laughing though until Ruby spoke up.
“Now, wait a gosh darn minute. Aasim is a different man than he was back then. He’s changed.”
Aasim smiled lovingly at Ruby then looked back at the pair. “That’s right.”
Louis and Clementine quieted down before the pirate captain spoke up. “True, he’s a pirate now which is a far more respectable profession than con artist,”
Clementine snorted at Louis’ words until she saw the look that Ruby was giving. With a nudge to his ribs Louis glanced up, the smile disappearing on his face as he cleared his throat.
“Chicken sounds good. Lead the way,” Louis’ words closed off the teasing and they continued through the town. Aasim led the way, pointing out different spots and shops that he said were good. Clementine and Louis shared some looks, knowing that they’d tease Aasim later when they had the chance.
“Ah, here it is,” Aasim’s voice made the group stop as their eyes wandered up towards the sign. It read “The Lost Cove” is faded golden letters. One of the hinges on the sign had broken, leaving it dangling awkwardly towards one side. “Don’t let the sign fool you. This place has good food. You have my word on that.”
“Well then, what are we waiting for? Let’s head in,” Ruby took a step forward before Aasim opened the door and held it open for his love. His hand that still held hers guided her forward. Once Ruby had made it inside the cartographer held open the door for the other two who gave their thanks as they entered.
Entering the tavern, the group was hit with the smell of ale and the lingering aroma of food roasting on a fire somewhere nearby. The scent made Clementine’s stomach growl which led the pirate to give a small, embarrassed smile.
“That table looks nice,” Ruby walked toward a corner table. Aasim jogged forward and quickly got the stool from Ruby, pulling it out for her to take a seat. Louis soon followed suit, giving a small bow as he pulled out the chair for his lady. Once Ruby and Clementine were seated the two remaining pirates took their spots around the table.
A girl with black hair and piercing green eyes walked forward towards their table with a welcoming smile. “What will you be having today?”
“Two of the crowned chicken specials,” Aasim held up two fingers with a friendly smile. “And four tankards of ale.”
“Sure thing,” The girl disappeared within seconds. The four pirates sat around, their eyes quickly checking to see if any wanted posters of them or their crew had made it to this small patch of the seven seas. After a thorough examination proved that no wanted posters were anywhere near they began to relax just as the tankards of ale showed up. The four of them drank and made small, simple conversation while they waited for their meal to arrive.
Louis was in the middle of one of his favorite tales that he had in his repertoire from his years as a pirate. It was about the time that Mitch accidentally smooched a sea creature and ended up catching his pants in the rigging. It was around then that the two platters of food arrived. The serving girl put down the platters filled with chicken roasted to perfection. The crispy skin shone lightly with grease and juice trailed down the roast birds’ sides. The smells of the different spices that brought out the chicken’s mild yet tempting taste made their mouths water. Surrounding the roast chicken were small fingerling potatoes cooked with herbed butters and sprinkled with salt. After the girl had placed down the plates and wished them a pleasant meal the pirates began to eat. Louis and Clementine tore apart the chicken, each of them tossing food back and forth and bartering for different parts of each other’s meal while Ruby and Aasim took their time,  delicately slicing the meat and giving balanced, fair servings, only eating once they had gotten enough of everything on their plates.
“Honestly,” Ruby shook her head, “Would it kill you to have some table manners?”
“Sowwy,” Clementine apologized with her mouth full. Specks of chicken and potatoes shot out, causing Louis to snort, getting ale up his nose and into the back of his throat. Clementine gave her love a few whacks on the back before they both continued to eat. Aasim tsked in disapproval but that seemed to do little to improve the pair’s eating habits. After a while though Louis and Clementine restrained their hunger and worked on showing basic table manners. That made a small, appreciative smile to appear on Ruby’s face that remained there for the rest of the meal.
After the chickens were picked clean, the potatoes demolished, the tankards dry of ale and the meal paid, the four pirates decided to head out. “Gotta say, Aasim. That was really delicious,” Clementine gave a warm smile to her friend who seemed proud that his memory had served him well.
“Yeah! Man, if our luck remains, maybe the others can get a share of this food too,” Louis gave a grin before intertwining his fingers with Clementine’s once more. Ruby moved forward and held the door for them.
“Thank you, my treasure,” Aasim walked out and held the door so that Ruby could step through. The two shared a loving smile then proceeded to catch up with the other couple. They walked through an alley to return to the center of town. Clementine was about to speak up and ask what they should do next when a voice appeared in front of them.
“Excuse me,” A frail voice called out, making them all look forward. A person with a dirty grey shawl moved forward and stopped before Louis. “Have I seen you before?”
The four shared a concerned look for a split second.
“I don’t think you have, “ Louis gave a charismatic smile. “I have a pretty common face so I bet you’ve just seen someone like me,”
“I don’t think so,” The elder shook their head, their face scrunching up in concentration. “I think I would remember a face like yours.”
“Oh! Thank you,” Louis gave a smile, showing that he was genuinely touched. “But sorry, you have the wrong person.
“Hmmm, well I’d still like to give you this.” The person reached into their pocket, withdrawing a necklace with a leather chain. The centerpiece of the necklace was a translucent stone which held a deep blood red splotch in the center of it. Something about the necklace drew Louis’ eye, mesmerizing him as he got lost staring in its depths.
“How many ducats do you wish to sell it for?” Aasim raised an eyebrow, thinking that the elder would surely spout some tale of this necklace and say it was worth far more coins than it truly was.
“None,” The person’s statement made all of them look shocked, taken aback by that response. Before any could speak up the elder reached for Louis' hand, placing the necklace in his grasp. The stone was cold to the touch as Louis’ grip tightened round it.
“Why-” Louis paused when he looked up and noticed that the shawled person was nowhere to be seen.
“That was… odd,” Clementine glanced around left and right for any sign of the person.
“They sure were a speedy fella,” Ruby responded, her mind still trying to figure out how they disappeared so quickly. “Louis? What are you doing?” The redhead’s question drew everyone’s attention to Louis who had fastened the necklace around his neck. He turned around dramatically, his tailcoat fluttering in the wind.
“I thought I’d give it a try. It was a gift after all. It would be rude to not wear it,” He gave a big grin.
“Idiot,” Aasim shook his head. “What if that necklace has some curse on it?”
That made Louis’ eyes widen for a split second before he waved a hand dismissively. “Nah, you worry too much. So, Clem, how do I look?”
“You look great. I think it adds to your looks,” Clementine’s smile grew when she saw how flustered that compliment had made Louis.
He cleared his throat and gave a goofy smile. “Well if my darling loves it, what more confirmation do I need,” Louis pulled on the sides of his pirate coat. “So, where to next?”
“Well, I saw a cave on the beach a walk west from Ol’ Kickass. We could head there.” Ruby offered.
“A cave?” Clementine tilted her head slightly before an excited smile overtook her features. “Sounds interesting. Who knows what we could find there.”
“Sea glass, shells, maybe even treasure,” Louis beamed at the thought.
“I highly doubt it,” Aasim added dryly.
“Aww come one, Pookie. There’s no need to be a wet rag. Let’s go and explore it,” Ruby gave Aasim’s hand a gentle squeeze. The cartographer looked down at his love with a warm smile. “Alright, my dove. Let’s explore the cave.”
“Hear, hear!” Louis cheered and led the way, taking long strides and chatting happily with the other three about what they could possibly find. Ruby and Clementine chimed in here and there adding their own guesses while Aasim very occasionally added his input. The warm white sands covered their shoes as they made their way towards the cave. The aura emitting from it made all four pause for a second in awe. An eerie yet tempting feeling came from inside. Whatever lay within the cave was calling to them and the four pirates listened as they made their way within. Once inside, however, they were filled with disappointment. All the cave held was a few rocks and pebbles and a small, measly body of water. Droplets fell down from the ceiling of the cave, making the water ripple as the sound echoed throughout the cave.
“Well, this was a disappointment,” Aasim gave a sad sigh. Clearly he had been excited about the impossible possibilities too.
“Well, it’s still a cool-looking cave,” Clementine took a step forward. “I think I see something sparkling on the walls.”
Ruby joined her friend at those words and held out her hand to one of the cave walls. Her fingers brushed against small crystals that were embedded within it.
“It does look pretty,” Ruby shared a smile with Clementine.
“True, at the very least this makes for a cool date spo-” Louis’ smile disappeared and his eyes were filled with fear as he lifted up a shaky finger. “What the shit is that!”
The others’ eyes shot over to where he was pointing. There hidden halfway in the shadows was what looked to be a pale white creature that was slowly struggling to get up. After a few more seconds it became clear it was something unearthly. The being’s body groaned and creaked as it dropped its foot forward with a thud. With a few more steps it was fully in the light, revealing that it was not some creature or beast but a skeleton.
“What in tarnation?!?!” Ruby took a step back while Aasim moved forward, protectively putting a hand in front of Ruby.
“Let’s get back to the-” Clementine turned around and stopped her sentence, her golden brown eyes shaking with disbelief. “Ship….”
There blocking the exit were more skeletons, alive and armed with sabers and cutlasses.
“What the hell is going on?” Aasim placed his hand on the hilt of his blade, his eyes hardening.
“Who knows, but it looks like we gotta fight our way out,” Louis drew his sword and rushed forward. With a cry and a mighty swing his sword came crashing down on one the skeletons in hopes he could shatter its defenses.
-----
“Fuckin’ A!” Mitch crowed happily. “Bet you can't beat that,” The pirate flashed a smug, cocky smile over at the blond.
Marlon returned the expression and gave a short laugh. “That spit shot wasn’t worth shit. I’ll easily be able to beat it.”
“Oh yeah?” Mitch moved forward. “Prove it. Put your money where your spit is. Five ducats says you can’t.”
“Heh, deal,” Marlon shook Mitch’s hand and was about to prepare his saliva for the long travel out to sea when a voice appeared behind them.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Prisha peered out from her comfortable place on the hammock.
“Spitting contest,” Mitch replied simply. “I’m gonna whoop Marlon’s ass at it.” “Spitting contest?!?!” Willy scampered forward along with AJ. Both boys looked intrigued by the statement.
“That’s right, but you can't join this round. I need to get Marlon’s coin first.”
Marlon scoffed. “Watch this,” With a deep, throaty sound Marlon produced as much saliva as he could before taking a deep breath and spitting. The hefty amount of saliva flew through the air and landed a little ways away from Ol’ Kickass with a soft plunk.
“Damn it!” Mitch grumbled, a frown pulling on the corners of his lips.
“Told ya,” Marlon gave a smug smile then held out his hand. “Pay up.”
Mitch swore under his breath and tossed the coins forward which Marlon caught with ease. Prisha gave a soft laugh which made Mitch’s eyes shoot up and glare at her.
“What? Got something to say, Prisha?”
“Nothing that you would want to hear,” Prisha had a cocky expression on her face as her arm pulled Violet closer towards her.
“You’d just say a bunch of shit that isn’t true anyway,” Mitch’s words made Prisha’s smile falter. She never liked it when someone insinuated that she had done something she hadn’t. The change in her expression made Mitch’s smile grow. “That’s what I thought.”
“I won’t fall for your weak attempt to goad me into a spitting contest.”
“You’re doing the spitting contest?” AJ looked over at Prisha with large eyes.
“Umm, well,” Prisha started but Willy interrupted her before she could continue.
“Are you gonna do it?” Willy looked at her with such sincere excitement that it made Prisha hesitate in saying no.
“Guys, she’s kind of stuck in the hammock,” Marlon pointed out which made both of the younger pirates’ faces fall.
“I’ll join the competition,” Prisha stated, making AJ and Willy look excited once more. Ever so carefully, Prisha untangled herself from Violet. The others offered to help but Prisha insisted that it would definitely lead to Violet waking up. Once she had successfully slipped out of the hammock and made sure that Violet was secure she moved forward to join the contest. Marlon was up first, giving his best try as his saliva flew in the air and landed around the same spot as before. Mitch was next. After gathering up a rather impressive amount of spit he took his turn and surpassed Marlon’s attempt.
“Ha!” Mitch was relishing in his victory when Prisha pushed him aside.
“I’ll show you how it’s really done.” Prisha took a deep breath then positioned her feet in what she deemed the best position. After gathering a fair amount of saliva she tilted her head and spit. Her saliva flew through the sky and landed past the other two by quite a fair distance.
“What the fuck?!?!” Mitch grabbed the ship’s side and leaned forward. Marlon looked just as surprised, his eyes blinking in shock.
“That was awesome!” AJ hopped up and down in glee.
“So cool!” Willy agreed, stomping his feet excitedly.
“How did you get your spit to go that far?” Marlon turned and looked at his friend.
Prisha had a proud look on her face. “It's quite simple. If you balance the amount of saliva in your mouth and tilt your head at the right angle you can get a trajectory that will surely clinch you the win.”
Marlon and Mitch looked lost about that explanation while AJ and Willy both pulled on Prisha’s arm, begging her to teach them the secret spitting technique.
“Hey,” Brody’s warm voice stopped the excitement for a moment as the auburn pirate strolled forward. “Do you know if Ruby said when she’d get back?”
“She didn’t give a time,” Marlon replied.
“They said they would be back by sundown,” Prisha added, her eyes narrowing for a second when she saw the concern on Brody’s face. “Why?”
“Oh, it's no big deal. Omar just burnt his hand a bit and I was wondering where the ointment is.”
“I know where it is. I can go with you if you’d like.” Prisha offered. Brody looked surprised for a second that Prisha knew of the location but when the realization of why hit her, the auburn pirate felt a bit bad.
“Okay, that would be great,” Brody walked alongside Prisha and quickly changed the subject. “Think they’re having fun on their double date?”
“I’m sure they are,” Prisha gave a soft smile. “Knowing them, I’m sure they’re enjoying the time away from the ship.
-----
“God, I wish we could go back to the ship,” Clementine groaned as she swung her cutlass out at another skeleton, knocking its head clean off. She knew that it would do nothing to stop them though. As they had discovered after Ruby delivered the first decapitation, the skeletons wouldn’t die. No matter how hard Louis hit or how strategically placed Aasim’s attacks were it did nothing to deter the skeletons from attacking once more.
“They just keep getting back up!” Ruby grumbled in frustration, blocking an attack from a rapier that a skeleton wearing pirate garb sent her way. Curling up her free hand, the fiery redhead sent it crashing against her opponent’s skull. The head bounced off with her punch and cracked against the wall. Aasim stared in awe of his love, completely taken in by the badassery of Ruby. He was so entranced he failed to notice a new skeleton had made its way over to him.
“Better keep your eyes on the fight, good buddy.” Louis playfully wiggled his eyebrows at Aasim before blocking an attack and sending a swift kick towards his opponent. The skeleton was sent flying, knocking over three others in the process. “I am the greatest pirate of all time!” Louis pulled on the sides of his coat when suddenly Aasim gripped his collar and yanked him backwards. That move saved Louis from serious harm. Aasim disarmed the skeleton before grabbing it by its collarbone and tossing it against the wall.
“Any plans, guys?” Clementine stood back to back with Ruby as they faced the next onslaught of opponents together.
“Nothing comes to mind,” Louis ducked an attack and sent a flurry of his own. “What about you, Aasim?”
“I don’t recall-” Aasim paused for a moment, his face scrunched up in concentration when his eyes lit up with an idea. “I may have something,” Aasim’s statement made the other three smile at their newfound hope. The cartographer sidestepped another opponent before continuing. “Prisha and I found these old scrolls a while back from a seller off the coast of the western bank of Deadman’s Bluff. He was a rather odd fellow who-”
“Pookie, I love your stories, but I need you to hurry along with it,” Ruby crushed a bone under her heel then proceeded to link arms with Clementine and spin her around.
“Sorry, my treasure. My point is we found scrolls talking of cursed objects.”
“Cursed objects?” Louis looked confused for a split second before his eyes grew wide. “Oh, shit!” Louis spun around and dodged the attack.
“Your necklace!” Clementine stumbled, her peg leg getting caught in one of the eye sockets of a skull. The skull shuffled around before a headless skeleton picked it up, causing the pirate to lose her footing.
“Clem!” Louis ran forward and caught her while Ruby and Aasim worked together to push back the swarm of enemies.
“I’m fine,” Clem gave a reassuring smile which seemed to ease Louis’ fear for a moment.
“Aasim, hurry up with the solution!” Louis snapped which made his friend frown.
“I’m trying to remember!” Aasim shot back a look of annoyance before slamming a skeleton into the cave wall. The four continued to fight off the incoming attacks for a few minutes when suddenly Aasim let out a small gasp. “I got it! The scroll that Prisha and I studied spoke of a blood sacrifice that would break the curse on certain objects. There’s no guarantee it will work, but…”
“We don’t have time for buts,” Ruby’s sword pierced through a skull that she flicked off with annoyance.
“Rubes is right. Here goes nothing,” Louis grabbed the necklace and tore it off his neck. Taking his blade, he pressed the sharp edge to his palm and slid it across an inch or two. Pressing his fingers into a fist, he let his blood drip down and splatter against the stone on the necklace. The thick red covered the delicate translucent stone and soon the whole stone matched the red splotch in the middle. It seemed as though it did nothing at first. But after a moment the skeletons stopped their attack. All their skulls turned and looked towards Louis as though waiting for an order.
“What's going on?” Louis whispered over to his love.
“I have no fucking idea,” Clemenitne whispered back, still gripping the hilt of her cutlass.
“Remarkable!” Aasim walked forward and studied the skeletons curiously. “It seems as though that old tale was true.”
“Old tale?’ Ruby asked. Her hand wrapped round Aasim’s arm and pulled him away from the opponents in case they suddenly attacked again.
“There was a tale going around a tavern that Marlon and I visited a few stops ago speaking about an object known to command a group of skeletons. They were said to be the remains of those that sailed with Captain Kidd.”
“Really?” Louis whispered. He and Clementine glanced down at the blood-soaked necklace. “If that’s the case... I, Louis Mason, captain of the Ericson Pirates, demand that you stop fighting and, um… shit,” Louis didn’t really know what to say next. “Just rest and don’t go hurting people anymore.”
The skeletons stared blankly at Louis before their bones shook around violently, causing them to drop their weapons. After a second the bones fell to the ground, clattering against each other until there wasn’t a single skeleton left standing.
“Good lord,” Ruby sheathed her weapon and let out a long sigh of relief. “That sure was one hell of  fight,”
“No kidding,” Aasim took a shaky breath.
“We did good, though. Right, Clem?” Louis smiled over lovingly at Clementine when he noticed that her weight was shifting. “Clem!” Louis grabbed onto her waist as her knee buckled.
“Sorry, guess I’m at the limit for my peg leg,” She gave an apologetic smile.
“It's understandable,” Aasim stated simply. “Shall we head back to the ship?”
“That would be for the best,” Ruby looked over and saw that Louis had swept Clementine up into his arms which she protested against for all of five seconds before enjoying it.
“We’ll have quite the tale to share with the crew when we get back,” Louis led the way with a smile.
“We sure will. But after I patch up your hand,” Ruby added.
“True, true. As far as double dates go in the life of piracy, I’d say it wasn’t our best but hey, maybe in the future we’ll look back and realize this isn't even our worst double date,” Louis gave a grin but that didn’t convince the others.
“Don’t jinx it,” Aasim shook his head with a small frown.
“Louis,” Clementine placed a hand on his arm, “How about we try to make this the worst date out of all our double dates, now and in the future.”
“Hear, hear. Here’s to not getting our asses kicked by skeletons in the future and to many more double dates.” Louis crowed. “So, wanna double date in the next port town?”
Ruby and Aasim shared a look then glanced back at Louis.
“I think we’ll take a rain check on that,” Ruby offered a warm smile towards her friend.
“Okay, well I’m sure that Prisha and Violet would love to go on a double date with us anyway,” Louis continued to chatter as he led the way towards Ol’ Kickass. The four pirates smiled and laughed as they made their way to their seaworthy vessel, looking forward to being back with their crew.

Meat-tivity
Summary: Marlon and Mitch get a brilliant idea.
Word Count: 1387
Read on A03:
Clementine walked into the breakroom to find Marlon and Mitch tittering and chuckling as they both crouched over Marlon’s phone at the table. Raising an eyebrow, Clementine made her way over to them, trying to get a look at what was on the phone from behind.
Marlon was the first to notice her. “Oh, hey Clem. Just got in?”
“Yep. What are you guys giggling about?”
Mitch snorted. “We were laughing at this whack ass list of Christmas nativities Marlon found. People do the weirdest things for Christmas,”
“Oh yeah? Like what?” Clementine leaned forward to see the photos. There certainly were a lot of them. Some of the nativities were kitschy like a clay owl nativity or a balloon animal one while others were geeky like a Star Wars nativity featuring only R2Ds and another comprised of all the Justice league superheroes.
“Bet Aasim has the R2D2 one at his place,” Mitch commented with a smirk.
Marlon chuckled. “Wonder what Ruby will think when she sees that,”
Clementine smiled at the pair’s banter as they continued to scroll through the nativity pictures. The nativities didn’t seem that crazy to her, but she was glad that these two were having a good time with them.
“Now that one’s cute,” Marlon commented as they scrolled past a picture of an all dog nativity.
“Eh, this one is more my speed,” Mitch pointed to a nativity featuring various kinds of alcohol as the figures. Suddenly Mitch stopped scrolling through the list on Marlon’s phone. “Holy shit, this is the best one of all!” He held it up so both Marlon and Clementine could see it clearly. The photo showed a casserole dish on top of which was all the standard pieces of the nativity: barn, shepherds, baby Jesus, but every piece was composed entirely of meat. “It’s a meat-tivity!” Mitch exclaimed with glee.
“Dude, that’s awesome!” Marlon chuckled before taking a screenshot of the nativity. “Gotta show that to Sophie later. It’ll crack her up,”
“You don’t think…” Mitch began, slowly eyeing Marlon then looking up at Clementine.
Clementine raised an eyebrow. “Think what?”
“Should we maybe… make a meat-tivity of our own?” Mitch’s voice dropped to a conspiratorial whisper.
“Hell yeah!” Marlon raised his hand in the air for a high five which Mitch immediately returned. “Let’s do it!”
“You guys have fun with that. I’ve got work to do,” Clementine declared as she walked out of the break room. Both guys were still discussing the meat-tivity as she left. It was good to see them getting into the Christmas spirit, that is, if a project like this counted.
“Alright guys, the moment has arrived!” Mitch announced as everyone gathered round the table in the break room. Louis had allowed the morning meeting to be interrupted when Mitch and Marlon declared they had something special to show the whole crew. Marlon stood behind Mitch, proudly holding a tinfoil casserole dish covered by a dishcloth. Placing it in the center of the table, he began a drumroll. “I present to you the MEAT-TIVITY!!” Mitch bellowed “1…2…3!”
The dishcloth was pulled back to reveal the most bizarre nativity any of them had ever seen. The base of the casserole dish was a meatloaf, forming the foundation upon which the nativity would be built. Slabs of meatloaf had also been cut out of the corners to be used as building blocks for the stable in which the nativity took place. The stable ceiling however was made of bacon, draped over a tinfoil skeleton and baked to crispness.
All the figures from the shepherds to the wise men to Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus were made from miniature sausages. Their clothes appeared to be a mix of bologna and more bacon while their arms were made from toothpicks. Peppercorns formed the eyes of all the cast and the three wise men all had teeny tinfoil crowns. Some of the animals had been made out of sausages as well, though these ones seemed to be stuck together on burnt pretzel bits.
“Well, what does everyone think?” Mitch asked with a cheeky grin.
“What’s that?” Violet pointed to a vague brown blob resting against the side of the stable.
“That’s a camel,” Marlon replied. “It’s made out of hamburger,”
“It looks like manure,”
“It sort of… melted after we baked it,”
Ruby looked truly pissed. Her arms were crossed and her eyes narrowed as she stared down both boys. “Well I for one find the whole thing offensive. It’s sacrilegious!”
“More like sacri-licious,” Mitch quipped, popping one of the wise men in his mouth.
Louis stepped forward to deescalate the situation. “Well you two, as much as we love your enthusiasm and creative spirit, we can’t have you keep your, um, ‘meat-tivity’ here at work. It could be seen as funny, but it also could understandably offend people,”
Marlon’s eyes were sad as he looked down at his meat-tivity then back at Ruby. “Sorry, Ruby. We didn’t mean anything by it. It was just a joke,”
Ruby’s eyes softened. “I know you didn’t mean anything by it, Sug, but it just don’t sit right with me to see baby Jesus wrapped in bacon and lying on a meatball manger,”
“It is a bit much,” Brody agreed quietly.
“I think it’s awesome!” Willy declared, smiling over at his big brother who’d let him stay for the big reveal.
“Yeah!” AJ agreed, high-fiving Willy. “It’s the best nativity ever!”
“Clearly opinions are split. That’s why it has to go. Sorry, guys,” Louis said with a shrug.
“Well what are we supposed to do with this?” Mitch asked with an exasperated huff. “I don’t want this thing stinking up my fridge at home!”
“You could throw it out…?” Louis suggested.
“But we put so much work into it!” Marlon protested. ‘It’d be a shame to just throw it all away!”
“You could eat it,” Clementine suggested. “It is made out of meat after all,”
That piqued the guys’ interest. Marlon and Mitch shared a long look before both nodding. Sitting down on opposite sides of the table, they dug in, shoving their hands into the meatloaf and pulling out large chunks.
“Good Lord, use some cutlery!” Ruby protested. “This is a restaurant for goodness’ sake!”
“This is how real men eat!” Mitch shot back, his mouth full of meatloaf. “Anyone who wants to join in, go right ahead!”
They didn’t get very many takers. Most people headed out after Louis gave a few quick announcements. A few lingered to watch the carnage while the adventurous few tried a couple bites themselves. Willy and A.J. were the first volunteers and the most invested in eating some of the mysterious meat-tivity. Clementine watched her little brother in amusement as he dug in with his bare hands and participated in the manly destruction of the meat-tivity. She was glad this had taken place on a Saturday so A.J. could join in the fun. Pulling out her phone, she snuck a few pictures of the meat-tivity being devoured.
Marlon paused and smiled for a photo as he saw it was being taken. His face was covered in bacon grease and bits of meatloaf littered his chin. “Can you send me that photo, Clem? I got some shots of the meat-tivity in its different stages and the finished product. That picture will round out the set,”
“Sure, Marlon,” Clementine glanced over to see Louis hesitantly nibbling on one of the sheep. She captured the moment and grinned as her boyfriend self-consciously blushed at being caught in the act.
“It’s not half bad,” he murmured, biting into the miniature sausage torso.
“If you say so. I think I’ll stick to photography,”
They got about two thirds of the way through the meat-tivity before all the participants were too full to continue and the rest of the creation was inevitably thrown into the trash. As Clementine scrolled through the pictures of the impromptu feast, she felt a happy glow within herself. Had meat-tivity actually kickstarted the Christmas spirit within her? She supposed crazier things had happened. Tucking her phone away, Clementine headed toward the front of the house to start her shift. In the end, the meat-tivity had indeed brought several of them joy; it truly was a Christmas miracle.
