the best part of the simon and hecubus bits is that hecubus seems to actually be a demon of some kind, with actual powers, and he chooses to be the manservant of a two-bit hypnotist who's not even good at his job and gets genuine glee out of doing the shows

#not to mention that simon has to know because we see him actually push him into the floor one time #and is still comfortable pushing him around because he knows hecubus wouldn't actually hurt him back #like considering we actually see hecubus go into the ground to escape a bar tab and that when simon pushes #him into the floor during the date sketch with bruce and it's all flame lighting under him #hecubus might've actually introduced himself as a spawn of satan because that's who he is #and simon incorporated it into the act #also that hecubus is genuinely enthralled with simon's version of “evil” and seems to more or less share it #it's so cute i love it #and the fact that hecubus defers to simon and doesn't seem to think what he does is lame or anything #like that's his version of evil too #it's so sweet i love it #the kids in the hall #sir simon milligan #manservant hecubus #dave foley #kevin mcdonald #simon milligan #hecubus

I love that Megamind seems to have a nice cult following. It is, indeed, a highly underrated film.

And contemplating the concept of the Anti-Villain and our collective recent interest in these characters led me to this idea:

Doctor Horrible is sick and tired of the Evil League of Evil. The other villains are either self-absorbed, homicidal, or just plain mean spirited. Bad Horse, as it turns out... Is a HORSE with an excellent Evil PR firm. But he's... An actual horse.

Dr. Horrible decides to form his own Evil League of... Villains. Yes! The ones who are in it for the Pageantry, for the glory, and to change the status quo.

Megamind receives a strange letter inviting him to join. He nearly declines, because he's a hero now, after all, but something intrigues him.

When he arrived he is immediately surrounded by tiny yellow creatures. After his initial horror, he considers that the Brain-bots might like to have new playmates.

"Yeah, Gru found me, as it happens. Turns out his daughter follows my podcasts. She said she had a connection for me. I didn't realize it was her DAD though..."

They have Dr. Doofenschmertz. They claim to have a genuine Demon.

"Actual fallen-angel, kind of a big deal really! Can do infernal miracles and everything. Rumor has it that he actually tempted Eve in the garden of Eden!"

"Who is the fluffy guy standing with him?"

"His partner comes with him sometimes."

"Is he evil, too?"

"Uh, well he owns a bookshop full of rare books and he never sells any."

Megamind nods. "Eeeevil..."

Simon P Milligan keeps showing up and banging on the door. "Let me iiiiiiin! C'mon guys! I have a pit of penultimate evil! I brought Goat's blood"

Dr. Horrible admits that his Manservant Hecubus would be a great addition but Simon is a bit...much.

They keep asking Catwoman to join. She continues to send increasingly scathing replies.

I kind of want the story to be about recruiting Edward Nygma. He wants in on the Legion of Doom but come on, those guys are assholes. "No one actually likes the Joker and have you ever spent more that ten minutes in a room with Lex Luthor? Plus it's hard to be the clever one when Gorilla Grodd steals your punchlines all the time."
