The Trinity was painted on a vertically aligned board. It depicts three angels sitting at a table. On the table, there is a cup containing the head of a calf. In the background, Rublev painted a house (supposedly Abraham's house), a tree (the Oak of Mamre), and a mountain (Mount Moriah)…

IND vs NZ: "The Curator Is The Right Person To Answer That Question"
India beat New Zealand by six wickets in the second T20I of the three-match series at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday, January 29. There was much criticism of the surface used as the batsmen struggled to score in the match. Indian bowling coach Paras Mambre said the curator is the “right person” to talk about the pitch.

On board the Samaria
@gottapenny @bandofbrothersimagine
The Indian mail carrier had been fitted with cots in the cargo bay and two men shared a cot, so they had to take turn sleeping.
Grant and you shared a cot, which unfortunately for Grant , meant he had to find somewhere else to sleep. You refused to leave the cot since the first awful day when you had walked down what seemed like miles of stairs to the good awful mess and was served boiled fish and tomato. You had of course gotten sick and was pissed, now the whole company experienced one your major weaknesses... sea sickness. The fight you had with Welsh before you left made you feel even worse, even though it was Harry who had been the perpetrator.
Talbert and Grant was worried about you, You refused to eat, they practically had to carry you up onto the deck and when they got here there you got sick again. After a few excursion to the deck they had to leave you. You were tired and wanted nothing more than for the endless journey across the sea to come to its end.
Finally Grant had enough, he was sweares that you would end up getting shipped right back to the States and all the hard work and you putting up with Sobels abuse would be for nothing. He decided to have Roe check up on you, he found Roe with Spina and Al Mambre the three medics were sorting thru their medical supply.
"Doc, Doc" Grant called out and pushed and shoved his way thru the mass of soldiers. Even though he knew that you would never love him, like you loved the Lieutenant, he couldnt help but worry more about you than the rest of the guys
"Grant , what can I do for you?" Doc asked
"I need you to come and check out Y/n, she won't eat or drink" Grant told Roe
"And you are just telling me this now, we left New York five days ago" Roe was ticked, he had failed, it was his job to make sure the men and in this case woman in the company was fit for fight.
Grant led Roe to our cot and Roe took one look at you "Well she dehydrated and sleep deprived and she needs to go to sick bay"
"You tell her that" Grant took a step back he wasn't going to be the one to tell you, that You had to go to the infirmary.
Roe took your hand "Y/n, you need eat and drink and I am going to transfer you to the infirmary
"No please dont make me go, Imswear I just need to get of this darn boat" you pleaded
Roe looked at you to reassess the situation "Ok, Ok I won't, but only if you promise me to drink some water"
"Fine I will just don't say anything to Winters or Nixon" You pleaded once more
Roe just patted you on the arm and turned and tried to locate Grant he found him three rows down talking to the machine gunner from Speirs platoon.
"Grant , I took a look at Y/n she promised me she would start to drink, water that is, if she starts to drink she should be fine"
Grant thanked Roe and Roe returned to his cot.
Speirs was standing listening to the conversation between the two Easy company men and he couldn't help but over hear what Roe was telling Grant , it had to do with Y/n and apparently you werent handling being on board the ship to good and if he was Welsh he would want to know something was wrong with You.
Speirs walked up to the deck, he found Welsh talking to McMillan and Winters. Speirs walked over and put a hand on Welsh shoulder "Harry a word"
Welsh and Speirs stepped away from the two other officers. Speirs scratched his neck "Harry I don't know what, if anything is going on between Y/n and you, but I heard Roe talk to Christenson and something is wrong with Y/n"
Harry looked at Speirs and without saying a word he turned and walked below deck, he found first platoon "Grant, Grant, where is y/n s?" Welsh asked Grant
"Two rows up" Grant pointed to the third row of cots.
Welsh climbed up and found you "Well you look like hell" Welsh said
You opened my eyes "Now I know I am hallucinating" you mumbled and turned away from Welsh
"Ah no, come on we are going up on the deck" Welsh pulled you to your feet
"No not again" You whined
"Yes and this time you are staying up there" Welsh pushed you up the stairs to the deck
We sat down and Welsh pulled out his canteen and handed it to you "Drink" he ordered
You just looked at him "and said "I rather not"
"Drink or I am telling Sobel" Welsh smirked
"Fine, whatever"you mumbled and took a small sip of the water, You felt the cool water slide down you throat and You focused on the horizon, so You wouldn't throw up, it worked
"See you are going to be ok" Welsh tucked a strand of hair behind your ear.
"Well let's see" You said and turned and looked at Welsh
"Y/n I am sorry for being a prick to you, I was jealous, I am sorry" Welsh looked at me waiting for my response
"Well you are forgiven, but Harry it isn't forgotten" You looked at Welsh
Welsh bit his bottom lip and looked ashamed "I know and I will do my best to make you forget it"
You gave Harry a small smile and nodded.
Welsh helped you on the rest on the Journey, Holding your hair back when you threw up and staude with you up on the deck. When the ship docked in Liverpool the two of you were up on the deck. You were leaning against the railing looking down on Liverpool, Welsh was behind you with his hand planted on the railing on each side of you. Harry kissed you lightly on the neck and whispered " I need you to survive this, I need you to be in one piece when all this is over, I believe so much in you ...in us, that the thought of being without you is killing me" you wrapped his arms around you and leaned into him, yrying tonexpress without words that you felt the same Way. Nothing coul or would keep you apart again.

Saint Ursula of Cologne is a Christian martyr slain by the Huns, alongside her 11,000 virgin companions. She is the patron saint of female students and orphans. Cum vox sanguinis / When the voice of Ursula’s blood, Ursule et innocentis turbe eius / and of the blood of her innocent host, ante thronum Dei sonuit, / sounded before God’s throne, antiqua prophetia venit / an ancient prophecy passed per radicem Mambre / through the root of Mamre and spoke in vera ostensione Trinitatis et dixit:/ in the revealed truth of the Trinity: Iste sanguis nos tangit, / “This blood touches us; nunc omnes gaudeamus. / let us all now rejoice!”
Et postea venit congregatio Agni, / And the congregation of the Lamb came, per arietem in spinis pendentem, / through the ram caught in the thorns, et dixit: / and said:  Laus sit in Ierusalem, / “Let there be praise in Jerusalem per ruborem huius sanguinis. / for the redness of this blood.”
Deinde venit sacrificium vituli, / Then came that sacrifice of the calf quod vetus lex ostendebat, / which the old law indicated, sacrificium laudis circumamicta / a sacrifice of praise, praise clothed in varietate, / many colors, et que faciem / praise that hid  Dei Moysi obnubilabat, / God’s face from Moses, dorsum illi ostendens. / showing him only God’s back.
Hoc sunt sacerdotes, / This stands for priests qui per linguas suas Deum ostenduntet / who disclose God with their mouths  perfecte eum videre non possunt. / and cannot see him in full.  Et dixerunt: O nobilissima turba / And they said: “O noblest host:  virgo ista que in terris Ursula vocatur / that Virgin called Ursula on earth  in summis Columba nominatur, / is named Dove in heaven,  quia innocentem turbam adse collegit. / for she gathered her a innocent host”
O Ecclesia, tu es laudabilis / O Ecclesia: you are worthy of praise in ista turba. / in that host.
Turba magna, quam incombustus rubus / That great host which is signified quem Moyses viderat significat, / by the unconsumed bush Moses saw, et quam Deus in prima radice plantaverat / which God planted in the first root in homine, quem de limo formaverat, / in the human being he made of earth, ut sine commixtione / so that it might   viri viveret, / have life without any cum clarissima voce clamavit / mixture with man: in purissimo auro, topazio et saphiro, / that host called out in a radiant voice circumamicta in auro. / in purest gold, topaz, sapphire, all set in gold.
Nunc gaudeant omnes celi, / Now let all the heavens rejoice, et omnes populi cum illis ornentur. / and let all peoples be honored with them. Amen.

Book Of Genesis - From The Latin Vulgate (1859 - Haydock Translation of The Roman Catholic Bible) - Chapter 23
INTRODUCTION.
The Hebrews now entitle all the Five Books of Moses, from the initial words, which originally were written like one continued word or verse; but the Sept. have preferred to give the titles the most memorable occurrences of each work. On this occasion, the Creation of all things out of nothing, strikes us with peculiar force. We find a refutation of all the heathenish mythology, and of the world’s eternity, which Aristotle endeavoured to establish. We behold the short reign of innocence, and the origin of sin and misery, the dispersion of nations, and the providence of God watching over his chosen people, till the death of Joseph, about the year 2369 (Usher) 2399 (Sal. and Tirin) B.C. 1631. We shall witness the same care in the other Books of Scripture, and adore his wisdom and goodness in preserving to himself faithful witnesses, and a true Holy Catholic Church, in all ages, even when the greatest corruption seemed to overspread the land. H.
—————————-
This Book is so called from its treating of the Generation, that is, of the Creation and the beginning of the world. The Hebrews call it Bereshith, from the word with which it begins. It contains not only the History of the Creation of the World, but also an account of its progress during the space of 2369 years, that is, until the death of Joseph.
The additional Notes in this Edition of the New Testament will be marked with the letter A. Such as are taken from various Interpreters and Commentators, will be marked as in the Old Testament. B. Bristow, C. Calmet, Ch. Challoner, D. Du Hamel, E. Estius, J. Jansenius, M. Menochius, Po. Polus, P. Pastorini, T. Tirinus, V. Bible de Vence, W. Worthington, Wi. Witham. — The names of other authors, who may be occasionally consulted, will be given at full length.
Verses are in English and Latin. HAYDOCK CATHOLIC BIBLE COMMENTARY
This Catholic commentary on the Old Testament, following the Douay-Rheims Bible text, was originally compiled by Catholic priest and biblical scholar Rev. George Leo Haydock (1774-1849). This transcription is based on Haydock’s notes as they appear in the 1859 edition of Haydock’s Catholic Family Bible and Commentary printed by Edward Dunigan and Brother, New York, New York.

Chapter 23
Sara's death and burial in the field bought of Ephron.
[1] And Sara lived a hundred and twenty-seven years. Vixit autem Sara centum viginti septem annis.
[2] And she died in the city of Arbee which is Hebron, in the land of Chanaan: and Abraham came to mourn and weep for her.
[3] And after he rose up from the funeral obsequies, he spoke to the children of Heth, saying: Cumque surrexisset ab officio funeris, locutus est ad filios Heth, dicens :
[4] I am a stranger and sojourner among you: give me the right of a burying place with you, that I may bury my dead. Advena sum et peregrinus apud vos : date mihi jus sepulchri vobiscum, ut sepeliam mortuum meum.
[5] The children of Heth answered, saying: Responderunt filii Heth, dicentes :
[6] My Lord, hear us, thou art a prince of God among us: bury thy dead in our principal sepulchres: and no man shall have power to hinder thee from burying thy dead in his sepulchre. Audi nos, domine : princeps Dei es apud nos : in electis sepulchris nostris sepeli mortuum tuum, nullusque te prohibere poterit quin in monumento ejus sepelias mortuum tuum.
[7] Abraham rose up, and bowed down to the people of the land, to wit the children of Heth: Surrexit Abraham, et adoravit populum terrae, filios videlicet Heth :
[8] And said to them: If it please your soul that I should bury my dead, hear me, and intercede for me to Ephron the son of Seor. dixitque ad eos : Si placet animae vestrae ut sepeliam mortuum meum, audite me, et intercedite pro me apud Ephron filium Seor :
[9] That he may give me the double cave, which he hath in the end of his field: for as much money as it is worth he shall give it me before you, for a possession of a burying place. ut det mihi speluncam duplicem, quam habet in extrema parte agri sui : pecunia digna tradat eam mihi coram vobis in possessionem sepulchri.
[10] Now Ephron dwelt in the midst of the children of Heth. And Ephron made answer to Abraham in the hearing of all that went in at the gate of the city, saying: Habitabat autem Ephron in medio filiorum Heth.
[11] Let it not be so, my lord, but do thou rather hearken to what I say: The field I deliver to thee, and the cave that is therein, in the presence of the children of my people, bury thy dead.
[12] Abraham bowed down before the people of the land, Adoravit Abraham coram populo terrae.
[13] And he spoke to Ephron, in the presence of the people: I beseech thee to hear me: I will give money for the field: take it, and so I will bury my dead in it.
[14] And Ephron answered: Responditque Ephron :
[15] My lord, hear me. The ground which thou desirest, is worth four hundred sicles of silver: this is the price between me and thee: but what is this? bury thy dead. Domine mi, audi me : terra, quam postulas, quadringentis siclis argenti valet : istud est pretium inter me et te : sed quantum est hoc? sepeli mortuum tuum.
[16] And when Abraham had heard this, he weighed out the money that Ephron had asked, in the hearing of the children of Heth, four hundred sicles of silver of common current money.
[17] And the field that before was Ephron's, wherein was the double cave, looking towards Mambre, both it and the cave, and all the trees thereof in all its limits round about, Confirmatusque est ager quondam Ephronis, in quo erat spelunca duplex, respiciens Mambre, tam ipse, quam spelunca, et omnes arbores ejus in cunctis terminis ejus per circuitum,
[18] Was made sure to Abraham for a possession, in the sight of the children of Heth, and of all that went in at the gate of his city. Abrahae in possessionem, videntibus filiis Heth, et cunctis qui intrabant portam civitatis illius.
[19] And so Abraham buried Sara his wife, in a double cave of the field, that looked towards Mambre, this is Hebron in the land of Chanaan.
[20] And the field was made sure to Abraham, and the cave that was in it, for a possession to bury in, by the children of Heth.
Commentary:
Ver. 1. Sara. She is the only woman whose age the Scripture specifies; a distinction which her exalted dignity and faith deserved. Gal. iv. 23. Heb. xi. 11. She was a figure of the Christian Church. C.
Ver. 2. City. Heb. Cariath arbah, Jos. xiv. 15. --- Which is Hebron. Serarius thinks it took its name from the society (cherber) between Abraham and the princes of the city. Hebron the son of Caleb possessed it afterwards. --- Came from Bersabee, (G. xxii. 19.) or to the place where the corpse lay, at Arbee, which signifies four; as Adam, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, with their four wives, reposed there. C. --- And weep. In the middle of this word, in the printed Hebrew, there is left a small c; whence the Rabbins ridiculously infer, that Abraham wept but a short time. But the retaining of greater, less, suspended and inverted letters in the Hebrew Bible, can be attributed to no other cause than a scrupulous veneration even for the faults of transcribers. Kennicott
Ver. 3. Obsequies, or solemn mourning, accompanied with prayer. Acts viii. 2. Matt. xii. The Jews are still accustomed to say, when they bury their dead, "Ye fathers, who sleep in Hebron, open to him the gates of Eden;" herein agreeing with the Catholic doctrine, as they did in the days of Judas the Machabee. H.
Ver. 6. Prince of God, powerful and holy, and worthy of respect. H. --- A great prince. See Acts vii. 5. where S. Stephen says, that God did not give Abraham a foot of land, meaning as an inheritance; and that Abraham bought this double cave, for a sepulchre, of the sons of Hemor, the son of Sichem; (C.) from which latter he seems to derive the name of the place, which is here called Hebron. H. --- Nothing is more common, than for men and places to have two names; though some think, the name of Abraham has been inserted in the Acts by a mistake of the copyists, when Jacob was meant. See G. xxxiii. 19. C.
Ver. 7. Bowed down to the people. Adoravit, literally, adored. But this word here, as well as in many other places in the Latin Scriptures, is used to signify only an inferior honour and reverence paid to men, expressed by a bowing down of the body.
Ver. 16. Sicles. About £50. H. --- It was no simony to buy land for a sepulchre, as it was not blessed. M. --- Current money, was such as passed among merchants, though probably not yet coined in any part of the world; and therefore we find, that Abraham and others weigh the pieces of silver or gold. In this manner were bargains concluded before witnesses, who in those days supplied the want of writings and lawyers. C.

A Perfect Day is an ironically titled dark comedy in which aid workers attempt to remove a corpse from a well during the last days of the Yugoslav war (actually a series of conflicts staining history from 1991 to 1999/2001). So, if you consider Aid Workers to be “virtue signallers” like firemen, nurses, social workers, teachers and other people who help fellow human beings for a paltry financial return because they believe in a something a bit worthier than amassing solid gold yachts, you should maybe watch something else. And, even if it does sound a bit “worthy” don’t run off quite yet, because you might miss a slightly off-beat, genuinely funny, comedy with a big fat heart and some serious acting chops.
Tumblr media
It all starts simply enough with salty old lag Mambrú (del Toro), maybe-crazy B (Robbins), neophyte Sophie (Mélanie Thierry) and their interpreter Damir (Štukan) trying to hoist a tubby corpse out of a community’s local water source. Things go south fast; the rope breaks and an odyssey begins to source new rope and circumvent ridiculous regulations before the contamination means the well must be sealed. None of that is as simple as it seems in a warzone where a cow corpse in the road isn’t simply a cow corpse in the road.  Of course the rope hunt is the maguffin used to tie the movie together; it’s mainly an episodic piece which ambles affably along pointing at things in a humorous fashion and mostly content to leave the more serious implications to the viewer’s own ratiocination.
Tumblr media
Easily lost in the fog of war is the fact that A Perfect Day is very funny; there’s some top comedy in the movie ranging from the surreal to the slapstick. Mambrú’s team may be stuck outdoors for the night in Yugoslavia but his girlfriend can still reach him by radio to ask what colour furnishings he prefers. And his answer isn’t just an answer about the colour of furnishings it’s part of a covert, long-distance emotional conflict between himself, his girlfriend and Katya (Olga Kurylenko ), whom Mambrú has unwisely slept with in the past. B has written in his notebook the correct formula for guessing which side of a dead cow the road is mined on, but, wait, maybe it depends on which way you are going?  Damir, the translator, is adamant that the sense of humour in his village is world renowned, but apparently it loses something in translation. And everyone loves a trip to a shop full of rope where the owner is adamant there is no rope, and won’t sell you any because there isn’t any, despite the fact you are holding it in your hand. And none of the comedy is accompanied by mugging and horn honks on the soundtrack; it’s all allowed to occur in a naturalistic fashion grounded by the excellent and understated performances of all involved.
Tumblr media
The comedy is the sweetener of course, the crunchy sugar coating surrounding the bitter reality of war and its effect on people. The ratio of comedy to horror varies but the dark core of the movie involves a visit to a wrecked house to get young Nikola (Eldar Residovic) his football. It’s here that all the background threat and imminent awfulness of the war is touched upon most directly. It’s here that the movie most cleverly, subtly and unapologetically slides from humour into horror. The ridiculousness of the ethnic basis of the conflict is underlined by the fact that the absent family’s previously friendly neighbours immediately destroyed the roof as this is the quickest way to ruin a house (the weather gets in and does its stuff). Bit of an ethnic conflict tip there; as is planting a landmine in the sofa so that if they do come back to their ruined house and sit down…the movie is an eye opener on the ingenuity people can bring to persecuting other people for the most stupid of reasons.
Tumblr media
Despite the war-torn setting, the hinted at atrocities and the sure and certain knowledge that something very like it will be happening right now somewhere, A Perfect Day manages some kind of subtle alchemical process whereby the viewer is left feeling not hollowed out and desolate but instead slightly upbeat. Not upbeat enough to think war is anything other than horrific mark you, but upbeat enough not to lose all faith in humanity. A Perfect Day made me thankful there are Aid Workers out there, but it also convinced me that the day they don’t need to be out there would be a perfect day indeed.
