We all talk about how Time sees Malon in Twilight but what about Malon seeing Time in Twilight? Like the little things.
Malon noticing that Twilight's kind hearted and gentle with animals like Time. Her noticing that the fairies nearby their home take a liking to the rancher like they do with her fairy boy. Seeing Twilight having a bit of Time's smile, or his mischievous ways. Just little things that prove to her without a shadow of a doubt, that she and Time are guaranteed to have that small little family she's always wanted. Little things that just makes it so much more tangible and real.
I love the thought of Malon looking at this simple sweet country boy and her seeing that the best things of Time, the man who she loves most in the world still lives and thrives through their descendant. And it just makes her heart get all big and full of love because that's her and her fairy boy's legacy.

LU headcanons 3 cuz I need to get my thoughts out of my head
-Warriors flirts w his friends as a joke, and nosey people will think he's being fr. So of course the only rational thing to do is harass him at bars.
-He hates the flirting, but loves the attention. He'll go out w a fake wedding ring so people will stop flirting with him. That doesn't stop them, of course, but it makes less people do it.
-Legend hates when his hair is pink, but Ravio thinks it's cute.
-Twilight always has the biggest, dumbest smile on his face whenever Malon compliments him and says she's proud of him. Same thing when Time does it. those r his parents guys
-Wild watches people sleep.
-Time was mentally screaming and crying when he saw Wild pull out Majora's mask but he acted calm.
-Time was probably tweaking tf out when Twi almost died cuz of the message that sheikah slate gave him. he probably cried in a corner once or twice when he was alone
-But now that Twilight isn't dying, he's still hella worried cuz then that means someone else is gonna die
-Not a lot of the chain know about the fierce deity's mask. The ones that do know abt it don't know exactly what it does, and Time will not be telling them anytime soon.
-Ravio may be a coward, but if he has no other option he's beating ur ass. with a big ass hammer
-Legend will go to the nearest shelter if she ever detects a storm brewing
-One time Legend was lost in a storm and couldn't find the other so she broke down like any sane person 💕💕
-Twilight is actually the sweetest person ever idk why he looks so mean
-Hyrule eats rocks
-Wild had a little sister that he lost to the calamity.
-Hyrule doesn't think, he just acts
-Legend has never told anyone about the cheer outfit, and probably never will. If he ever gets caught with it on, she'll probably cry 💀
-Sky LOVESSS LOVEESS Sun so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so much
-Four isn't in love w Dot, he only sees her as a friend.
-I know Jojo said that Shadow Link isn't canon to LU, but.........shadow and four are boyfrien-WHAT WHO SAID THAT
-Warriors had ptsd from wars
-Legend loves to cuddle but he will never admit it
-Wind fell asleep on Malon's shoulder once because she sang him a lullaby. She carried him to his bedroom later while he was asleep. Her heart bursted with pride and love as she set him down on the bed.
-Malon sees all of the boys as her sons. She desperately wants children if u couldn't tell. and she deserves some
-Legend and Fable will pull pranks on annoying old people for fun
-Everytime Malon looks at Twilight she sees her and Time's future. She is especially motherly to him out of all the boys.
-Twilight pretends he doesn't feel immense joy when she is near him. but he does

Headcanon that Modern AU Malon loves bittersweet movies, and when she and Time started dating, he cried like a baby watching Marley and Me with her on a date.
She never told him that she decided not to watch Bridge to Terabithia after to let him emotionally recover.

I’m not the only one who wants Malon and Time to have a baby while linked universe is happening right? Like right? Cause I know that running a farm by yourself while ur pregnant is rough my mum has to do that but STILL I want it 😭😭 and like Time could be like rlly emotional about it and start randomly crying about random shit like he’s the one pregnant

Does Time know he is the one who taught Twi everything he knows?
My guess is Time knows he is the one who taught Twi his seven hidden skills.
That private conversation may include topics like ancestor and descendant relationships and the legacy of the hero of time to the hero of Twilight. For example, we have the hero bow as a tangible legacy.
Tumblr media
About Twi, Malon, and Time
Not only does Twi have similar facial expressions to Time, but he also inherited Malon’s laugh.
That doesn't mean he can't replace his adoptive father and mother figure with Time and Malon. We know Ordon Village is the closest thing that Twilight has to home.
The same can be said of Time with Lon Lon Ranch.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Is it yet the keyword?
We don't know when Malon is announcing her pregnancy.
It is only speculation that she will announce it in the letter that Time receives from Malon. What I gather from this situation is Time wouldn't be able to see his kids grow old.
What about secrets?
1) Twilight is related to Time and Malon. That was a secret that had been revealed now to the others.
2)Fierce Deity Mask: Twilight is the only one that knows about this item. He disagrees with its use. Let's not forget he sought after a controversial item like the fused shadows.
3)It is a spoiler. Not saying anything.
4) Timeline split: Time is seeing the consequences of his actions.
Time’s character design
It is a combination of the hero shade and the fierce deity armor.
Tumblr media
Time’s skull mask
We know why Twilight behaved this way when he saw the skull mask. It reminds him of the hero shade.
Tumblr media
Time’ paranoia
He is having hallucinations about his future with Malon and wonders what kind of legacy Twi was talking about.
Man here needs solid proof that Twi is indeed his descendant. That's why Malon announced her pregnancy would be the perfect time for him to be sure of it.
When he receives the news, Time definitely will try to protect Twilight.
Tumblr media
What a terrible fate
Twilight thought he could change his ancestor's fate. We know that doesn't work that way.
If he changes Time’s fate, Twilight could be dooming his Hyrule or something worse.

Wild's Wolf (Modern AU): Febuwhump Day 15--Who did this to you?
When they escaped the compound in a sprint and piled into Time’s rusted old truck, peeling out of the dimly lit parking lot with a shriek of rubber against concrete, he did the first thing he always did when he got himself into trouble.
He called Malon.
Time’s knuckles blanched white around the steering wheel as the phone rang all the way through on the first try, as well as the second and the third. On the fourth ring, she finally picked up.
“Link.” Her sleepy voice warbled through the phone’s old speaker. She sounded… pissed. “What’re you doing, calling at two in the morning? Why aren’t you in bed? When did you slip out? Where are you?”
“Sorry dear, a work thing came up—”
“—Who’s talking?” came the frightened bark from the backseat. “Where’s ‘at voice a’coming from? Mr. Time?”
“—do you have someone with you, honey?” Malon asked, sounding fractionally more alert now. There was a shifting on the other side of the line, likely Malon pushing back the covers and rising out of bed. “What’s going on? What in the world did they say?”
“Don’t worry about it, kid, it’s just my wife,” Time said lowly, then raised his voice to be heard over the speaker. “Yes, sweetheart, listen. I’d love to answer all of your questions when I see you. I’ll be home in about thirty minutes.”
Time glanced up into the rear-view mirror. The agency hadn’t given chase, not yet anyways, given the dark, empty highway road stretching out behind them. The wolf boy—Twilight, Time had gathered after their most recent conversations, not just Wolf —cradled Wild in his arms, braced awkwardly against the movements of the car and looking every bit a caged animal as he watched the world speed by outside the car’s dusty windows. Wild himself lay slack and quiet across the backseat, dried blood spilling over his pale face from the gash at his hairline. Time wasn’t sure if he was fully conscious or not—his torn hospital gown made it hard to tell if he was even alive, the way it washed him out.
Malon said nothing to his dismissal, patiently waiting for some explanation in the crackling silence. “We’re, uh…” Time broke at last as he turned his eyes to the road.  “We’re going to be having some… guests this morning. Would you mind to prepare the guest bedroom? And get out that old med kit you’ve got in the top of the dresser, while you’re at it. And that bag of chocolates in my desk drawer.”
“The med kit? Are you hurt?” Malon’s next words were low, tense. “And just who are the guests you’re bringing home with you?” A heavy sigh. “What have you gotten yourself into now, Fairy Boy? ”
Time winced. “Nothing—nothing bad,” he lied through his teeth as he again checked the rear-view mirror. Still no cars tailing him, yet. Good. But they knew where he lived. His house would be the first place they checked, if they decided to come after him despite his threats to go to the news about their whole secret human experimentation project. “M-m-make sure that the boys stay in bed, Malon, we can explain things to them in the morning. And don’t forget those chocolates.”
“Alright, Link.” A heavy sigh rang out from the other end of the line. “You better know what you’re doing.”
Click!
Time resisted the urge to slam his own forehead against the steering wheel. “Oooooh, she’s gonna be so upset about this,” he said to the empty air. “I’m going to be out in the doghouse for a month.”
“You did not tell me that your wife is a fierce goddess, Mr. Time,” Twilight whispered, wide-eyed. Those long ears of his stood pricked up and alert, nearly completely upright as they swiveled as if to catch her voice again. “That she may use her powerful influence to project her holy presence to our lowly senses, whilst she is absent from this place of being herself? And yet you dare to incur her wrath upon yourself, so much so that she shall transform you into a lowly dog? What offering must we make to appease her fury?”
Aaaaaaand that was their jabber nuts reaching the time limit of their magic. “No, she’s not a goddess, and that’s just a figure of speech.” Time restrained himself from making a joking comment about her in regards to that—he’d just confuse the boy more. He dug into the sack of candies in his front shirt pocket and passed two jabber nuts back, careful to keep one eye on the road. “Take another one of these. See if Wild will eat one as well.”
Twilight hummed suspiciously, muttering something to himself that Time could no longer parse out without the jabber nut’s magic, but took the chocolate candies from his palm. Time popped another one into his own mouth just as headlights appeared on the horizon behind them. He veered off the nearest exit and turned on the winding road that led through the woods and eventually, to the farm.
“D’you reckon he’ll be alright, sir?” Twilight asked a few quiet minutes later. “He’s lookin real hurt back here. Ain’t woken up once since we hightailed it out of that curs’ed place.”
Time smiled at the sudden difference in the sound of his voice. The jabber nuts were funny in that they not only translated the meaning of a person’s words, but they also conveyed how that person’s words would come across to a native speaker. Not only did that mean tone indicators such as sarcasm—underneath the jabber nut’s magic, Time did not hear that upwards lilt of an interrogative with Twilight’s question, perhaps their language had a specific word that signified such a thing—but it also imbued an accent, when applicable. For Wild, his voice was an unremarkable American English, which meant he likely spoke the most common iteration of their language. For Twilight, the jabber nut’s magic chose to give him a deep, drawling southern accent. Perhaps he had originally been a farmer, or he hailed from a stereotypically less educated corner of their home country, or maybe he was just from a rural area. Time could only guess what the magic had picked up on. The academic, professorly side of him noted it as something to look into more deeply later.
“I’m sure that he’ll be fine, he just needs to sleep off whatever they did to him,” Time said smoothly. But the vicious blow to the Wild’s head and the jerking of his thin body from the electricity's effects after those researchers had shocked him for daring to fight back—it might take a little bit more than a good night’s sleep to heal. “Malon—that’s my wife who you heard talking earlier—will fix him right up, I’m sure of it.”
“So, I reckon I did understand that right, earlier—that’s where you’re taking us? To your wife?” Twilight mumbled as he leaned his arm against the window, watching the world fly by. His hand carded absently through Wild’s bloodied hair. “You said that you’d help me get him back, an’ we’d be free to go. You ain’t never mentioned taking us nowhere other than back home.”
Time’s heart ached at the kid’s betrayed, defensive tone. “I did say that. And you will be home, soon, I promise,” he soothed. As if the forest they’d survived in before would be safe anymore, given that people knew about them now. Time shook his head. That was a bridge to cross and a conversation to have another day. “I’m just taking you to my home to make sure that Wild’s okay. You want him to be okay, don’t you?”
Time felt even worse, then, for turning such horribly manipulative phrasing upon the kid in order to gain his compliance. But it worked, and Twilight shrunk into himself with a meek nod.
“Good. We’ll be there in 15 minutes.” Time peered at the both of them in the backseat. Twilight was nearly standing now in order to withstand the jostling movement of the car on the winding country roads. His back was pressed against the car door and legs braced stiltedly against the floorboard, turning him all askew where he tried to keep Wild’s head in his lap despite such a position. Wild’s eyes remained closed. “Sit down and put your seatbelt on, Twilight. It’s dangerous to be unbuckled in a moving car.”
“Put on my what?” Twilight’s icy blue eyes snapped to Time, his ears pinning back in alarm. “Dangerous to be unbelted in a what?”
Ah. The jabber nuts, despite their magic, did not have the power to translate everything, especially when a concept was not shared between respective languages.
“Nevermind,” Time muttered, turning onto another street. “Just stay seated and hope that I don’t crash before we get there.”
Finally, they pulled into the gravel driveway. Battered fence posts ran along either side of the road, penning in the horses and cows that would all be asleep in the big red barns at the backside of the property. The vegetable gardens lay to one side; the white farmhouse loomed on the other side at the top of the hill; the kitchen light flicked on, and if Time squinted, he could spot Malon’s silhouette shadowing the window.
“Listen, boys, we’re here.” Time spoke up. Twilight, previously nodding off, jerked to attention in the backseat. Wild remained still, but Time thought he saw his eyes flicker open at his words. “When we go inside, I want you to go and sit in the living room. I’ll talk to Malon. She’s likely gonna want a pretty good explanation on all of this, and I’d rather it come from me.”
“An’ if she turn you inta dog?” Twilight asked tremulously. Wild made a little confused noise on his lap, and Twilight returned to petting his head, looking very, very stressed about the idea. “What’re we s’posed to do then?”
“She’s not going to turn me into a dog, Twilight,” Time answered tersely. She may kill me, though. He knew better than to voice that thought—the jabber nuts were clearly not doing a good enough job to translate the idea of irony to the poor kid. Time pulled up the car to the garage, parking in front of the closed doors. “Alright, everybody get out.”
Just as Time stepped around the vehicle to release a trapped Twilight from the backseat—he’d forgotten the boy wouldn’t know how to use the latch—the front door to the house opened. Light spilled onto the driveway.
“Link!” Malon’s scolding voice nearly made him cower in its intensity. “Just where have you been? Two in the morning, calling me telling me—”
“Shh, shh, shh, shh!” Time begged, waving his arms. He raised a finger to his lips. “One’s got a head injury, you’re gonna hurt his ears.”
Malon took in a deep, preparatory breath, but right on cue, Twilight unfolded himself out of the car—a mess of lanky limbs and unsteady after the long, unfamiliar ride—and her lecture petered out then and there. He clutched Wild, still so small and shivering, to his chest. “Uh… ‘Lo, Mrs. Malon.” Twilight seemed to attempt to dip into a respectful bow, but the precious cargo in his arms made it difficult to complete the gesture. He ended up bending his head over Wild, the tips of his ears downturned. Always with the ears. Time didn’t remember there being so much body language about them. But it had been decades since he’d last seen them, after all. “Nice t’meet you, ma’am.”
“Oh my god, where did you get two kids?” Malon whispered, her hands over her mouth. “Looks like you picked up a hobo and a psych ward escapee.”
“Like I said, work,” Time said briskly, retrieving and shouldering his professor’s satchel from the passenger’s seat. “Did you eat one of the chocolates already?”
“Of course I did, Link.”
“Then stop insulting the poor boys, because they can understand you, too, and they’ve been through a lot today.”
Malon huffed, crossing her arms as she looked over the two. Twilight stepped forwards, then, and his knees seemed to shake underneath him beneath her gaze, but he stood tall. “I’ve heard lots about you from Mr. Time, kind ma’am. Can… can you help my lil brother, please?”
“I’m afraid I can’t say the same. My husband likes to keep his secrets, it seems.” The look Malon sent Time was deadly. Then, as if on a dime, her voice changed to a soft, motherly coo as she turned her attention to Wild. “Oh, you poor boy, you." She placed a gentle hand over his forehead, brushing his bangs to the side; he gazed back, his eyes open but glassy and unseeing. "Who did this to you?”
“C’mon inside, dearies, I’ll get you and your little brother all fixed up, and get you something to fill your stomachs too?” She took Wild from Twilight with ease—and Twilight let her, surprisingly enough—then headed for the front door. “And while we’re doing that, my husband and I will talk. That sound alright to you?”
“Yes ma’am!” Twilight followed her readily inside, a skip to his step that Time had never seen from him before. Time trailed far behind, a shadow staying out of Malon’s blazing sight. Oh, he was in so much trouble.

Febuwhump 2024, Day 13- continuation of Day 10: Time & Malon (Some of the Chain)
Fandom: LOZ/Linked Univere
Summary: Time is forced to watch a memeber of his family go through the process of what Twilight went through with the Shadow, with Dark. This time though, it kills... but not who you may think.
CW: blood, injury, miscarrage (for the love of god read this warning!)
Notes: I did not proof read this afterwards... and don't come to me with hateful comments when there is literally a warning right here. If you don't like, don't read.
“No.”
Time’s hands shook as he grabbed a towel that was hanging behind him. He pressed it against her wound and apologized for the pain of it as she clutched at his shoulder and chest, holding in the pain as much as she could. Rushed footsteps coming up the stairs alerted him to his company.
“Time?” Warriors was the first one to make it to the bathroom door. The Captain was wide eyed at him, in just as much disbelief as himself. “Hyrule, we need you!”
Shaking his head no, Time forced his words to work. “It’s the same wound as Twilight’s. Open my bedroom door, hurry.” He scooped Malon into his arms in a bridal carry, keeping her head on his chest. He made sure to be careful of the door frames and walls as he made it down the hall to their room.
Warriors had already pulled back all the blankets and quilts and stood out of the way for him to get to Malon’s side of the bed where she was gently placed. She was already sweating, eyes growing distant by the second. She groaned as she was moved a little closer to the center of the bed, making Time’s heart ache more than it was.
“What do you need from us?” A voice from the door asked. It was Twilight, wringing his hands in front of himself, brows furrowed in distress for his family. All the others were tucked in the hallway behind him.
Time sent a pleading look to Warriors, his big brother, when his voice wouldn’t come out. Warriors nodded, then addressed the others. “Perimeter check first, clear the house. It is still early enough in the day that I’m sure there are some chores that haven’t been attended to. Wild, that potion you made before, see if you can remake it. After that, we just need to keep it quiet and safe. Have an ear open if they need anything.”
Majority of them left without a question. Wild grabbed Twi’s arm to pull him away and he followed.
When Warriors went to leave Time and Hyrule to help Malon, Time stopped him. “Link- please stay.” It was rare for him to call Warriors by their shared name, but it got his point across. He needed his brother with him.
“Time?” Hyrule said as he approached. “I need to be able to access the wound, but still keep her modest.”
The three of them worked quickly, Warriors helping to get Malon’s boots and socks off, Hyrule went and gathered bandages, water and a few sugar cubes while Time got his wife’s belt, waist wrap and shawl off. He pulled her shirt from her skirt, tucking it under her under the wire of her bra to keep it out of the way until he could get her into a nightgown.
Her skirt was high on her hips and too thick to keep her in. No doubt she would soon have a fever and would burn up with the layers. Getting her down to her knee length drawers and covering her up until Hyrule was ready, Time finally took in the sight of Malon’s open wound and nearly choked.
Black webbed lines laid across her left ribs, blood caked on her skin and still flowed lazily onto the bed sheets. His eyes caught something else though and it wasn’t the wound.
He pulled the covers back down some to see better, then laid his hand on her lower stomach. She was swollen with- dear goddesses above- she was carrying their child. She had their own little pup growing inside her, already big enough that she had a good sized baby bump.
Emotions swirled through his tormented mind. She was pregnant. They were going to be parents. The wound though, would it- could it- No, Malon was strong and surely their child too. But Twilight is also strong and they almost had to bury him.
“She didn’t tell you.” It sounded more like a realization for Warriors than a question.
“No and knowing her, she probably wanted it as a surprise.”
Hyrule timidly took a seat on the opposite side of the bed. “May I?” He had his hand hovering a good foot over where Time’s was. With permission granted, he laid his hand over where the baby was growing.
Time watched as Hyrule’s magic traveled through Malon’s abdomen, reaching towards the baby. Warriors placed a hand on his shoulder as a comfort, a much needed comfort. When Hyrule pulled his hand away, he smiled and removed the single tear that fell.
“He’s a strong little one. Maybe four months old.”
“He?” Time asked.
“My magic doesn’t just tell me of an injury, it shows me like an echo of what is inside: muscles, veins, nerves, organs. I saw a ‘him’.”
Time was ready to throw in the towel when it came to being a hero and just be a husband and a father, but the new expression on Hyrule’s face made him pause. “What aren’t you saying?”
Hyrule bit his bottom lip, clearly thinking over his words. “When a mother is with child and becomes injured, especially with a dangerous injury like this, her body defends itself in every way it can, even if the mother doesn’t want it to.”
“‘Rule, what are you saying?” Warriors asked, hand tightening on Time’s shoulder.
With a heavy sigh, he told them. “Malon’s body may self terminate the pregnancy due to the stress of the injury.”
‘No, no! No! I refuse to believe that she- that he- I will not believe that he will slip through our fingers before he takes a single breath!’
“I will do everything in my power to prevent that and to save them both.” Hyrule added, already pouring his life spell into Malon’s wound.
Time waited there unmoved for however long, could have been hours, before Hyrule took a deep breath, wavering slightly in his place. Time hated to say it, but Hyrule needed to rest. “Traveler, take a break.”
“No-” he yawned, “-I’m okay.”
“Itervalues like we did with Twilight.”
“But…”
“You won’t be any good to them if you drain yourself beyond what you are meant to. Lay down in the bed, get some rest.” Time left no room to argue.
“Wars, can you check on Wild and the others?” Hyrule asked as he kicked off his booth, succumbing to the needed rest his magic needed.
Warriors nodded, then turned towards Time. “Do you want the others to know what’s going on?”
“No point in hiding it.”
With Hyrule asleep, Warriors debriefing the others and Malon unconscious, Time figured he needed to listen to his own words. He tried to be as quiet as he could as he took off his bulky armor and chainmail, placing it all in the corner of the room for later. He took the chair that sat up against the wall and brought it over to the side of the bed he had been keeping post at.
Sitting, he leaned forward onto his elbows, taking Malon’s right hand into both of his. He kissed each finger tip, knuckle, the back of her hand, followed by her palm that he then laid against his unscarred cheek. Her fingers twitched against his cheek, bringing a sad smile to his lips.
‘How did it come to this?’
Knowing he couldn’t do much else than be supportive at his wife’s side, he laid his head down on the bed, right hand hand laid protectively over their son. Her right arm that he was holding, slid over his shoulders limply as he laid down, but it was still comforting and warm over him.
Days stretched on for what seemed to be months. Malon woke a few times in the first several days, coherent enough to talk, to talk about the baby and to assure the younger men in the house that she was going to be just fine. She also demanded that Hyrule didn’t work too hard for her sake, knowing good and well that he wasn’t going to listen.
The next few days it was harder for her to talk, only making little sounds. A fever hit her hard. She shivered, trying to pull the blankets over her with the little strength she had, but they couldn’t let her keep all that body heat in like she was wanting. Instead, Time offered some heat from his body, allowing her to sleep at least more comfortably.
Then Malon stopped waking up outside of her eyes opening. The wound itself was closing, but the lines were spreading. Spreading not towards her heart like they thought it would, but to her abdomen. The poison was searching for the weakest point in her body and that happened to be their son. The horror of the situation was noticed three days ago. Today… today was one of the worst days of Time’s life.
Today, Time woke to a smell in the air that reminded him of a battlefield. He checked over the wound, but it was fine. It hit him like a brick wall when he ripped the covers back.
“Hyrule!!” Time called from his open bedroom door. The sound of something breaking was followed by curses and multiple running footsteps.
Time’s hands were covered in blood, some even on his face from trying to clear his eyes of blinding tears when Hyrule, Legend, Warriors and Twilight rushed in. The last three paused at the sight. Warriors was the first to move forward to help.
Time was knelt at the side of the bed, Malon’s hand clutched in his. “I-is… Is he-?” He couldn’t get the question out.
Hyrule’s shoulders slumped forward. “She hasn’t woken up in days, we need to force feed a stamina potion into her, see if she will wake up.”
“On it!” Legend darted out of the room.
“Hyrule?” Time tried again.
“I’m sorry… I’m so sorry Time, but she miscarried. Her body didn’t have any other choice.”
“That can’t- that can’t be it. It can’t just be over. There has to be something we can do, a red potion, something!” Anything!
Hyrule shook his head. “Right now, we need to focus on saving Malon. Giving her any kind of healing would only cause the baby to be trapped inside her and that could kill her quickly.”
Time stood at full height, glaring with a snarl. “Try something anyways!” Warriors placed a calming hand on Time’s arms, but Time pulled away and grabbed ahold of the Traveler’s arm in a too tight of grip. “Save them both!”
Hyrule’s eyes were dangerous. “Get him out of here if all he is going to do is prevent me from doing what needs to be done.”
Time went to lunge for Hyrule, but Warriors forced him back, resulting in an audible crack against the Captain’s jaw. Going back for Hyrule, Time was tackled by Twilight. The younger tried to haul his ancestry away, making it to the door before Time turned on him too. Twilight readjusted his hold, getting his arms around Time’s middle from behind and slammed them both into the wall.
“Let go!”
“Can’t do that!”
“Let. GO!” Time roared, but the fight bled out of him as Legend poured the potion into Malon’s mouth. She woke with a gasp, then screamed from the pain in her core.
Time missed everything said as he slid down the wall to the floor, Twilight still holding onto him. He was curled in on himself, blood covered hands hovered in front of his face. He held his breath, trying to keep it all in. His veins bulged from his neck and forehead while his skin turned red.
Twilight had Time sitting between his legs as he pulled him closer, saying, “Let it out. Breathe and let it all out.”
Time did just that as he turned his head to Twi’s chest, gripping the young man's sleep shirt and hollered with every bottled up emotion he had suppressed since Dark attacked Malon. He never once was told that it was okay, because it wasn’t okay.
Still having tears roll down his face after an unknown amount of time, he looked up to see Hyrule holding a towel in his arms. Time straightened up, curious eyes looking at the bundle.
“I thought you might want to see him, before he- before he is properly buried.” Hyrule slowly went to his knees, transferring the too small of a baby wrapped up into Time’s arms.
“We will give you some privacy.” Twilight said, giving Time the space he needed.
Time sat there against the wall, almost scared to open the towel up. To see was to be real. He didn’t want it to be real, but he would never disrespect the dead that way. He cradled the towel in his right arm, pulling the edge back with his left. He covered his mouth as another choked sob slipped through. So tiny, not even fully developed… The father oh so softly stroked the baby’s cheek with a single fingertip.
He laid in the bed with his wife tucked into his side, child placed on both of them to hold. He spoke into Malon’s red hair. “I’m sorry… There are so many things I am sorry for. You weren’t supposed to get hurt, ever. Our adventures so rarely involve our loved ones, but I was such a fool to think this one would go by the same guidelines.”
He paused, breathing in his wife, alive and nearly healed.
“This will be my greatest regret.”
Notes: Was going to add a whole scene where Sky made a pretty engraved coffin and Time buries the baby and curses Hylia for doing this to them, but I couldn't talk myself into doing it.

Malon would definitely be the type of gal to do something mischievous and as soon as she was caught by one of the boys she'd immediately be like-
"They'll never believe you."
And to add onto this Time knows about his wife's mischievous ways but whenever he is approached by one of the boys about Malon's secret shenanigans, he'll act completely clueless. I'm talking like-
"Malon? As in my sweet as an apple pie Malon?? My beloved wife Malon?? That one???"
Cuz Time's just as mischievous as her let's be real. They both just pull shenanigans on the poor unsuspecting members of the chain and they get away with it every time.

Dear Malon
Malon sang as she led Epona out of her stall, smiling as the mare nosed and nudged at her, lipping at the pocket of her dress. Laughter broke her song as she gently nudged the horse’s head away, scratching behind her ear as she pulled the carrot out of her pocket.
She offered it to the gentle-tempered mare, starting her song back up as she took the carrot. Not bothering to grab the mare’s halter, Malon walked into the paddock and over to the fence where a brush box rested. Epona followed nosing at her hair and dress, stopping at the fence and nickering.
“My, what a sweet girl you are!” The mare snorted, nickering again as Malon picked up the curry comb, falling into the rhythm of brushing Epona’s chestnut coat. Her singing picked up again, and she swayed slightly to an invisible beat. Malon smiled as she realized the tune- a song she had heard Sky strumming that last time her husband and their boys were around.
It wasn’t unusual for them to be gone; hopping through time meant that time would be different, but they were never gone for more than two weeks. It had been four, and Malon feared that something had happened to them. Her singing petered out, an almost pensive air around her. With a sigh, she swapped the curry for the dandy brush, accompanying the strokes with pets.
Epona nuzzled into her shoulder, smacking their heads together, causing Malon to laugh. She brought a hand up to the mare’s face, scratching at her jaw. When she ripped her face out of her hands, Malon stepped back. Epona’s eyes were wide, and her tail was swishing rapidly, every muscle of her body was tense, focused on something on the horizon. What had she heard? Or seen?
The mare took off, startling Malon slightly. She placed the brush back in the box, turning back in time to watch Epona jump the fence and race off. With a sigh, Malon brought the brush box back into the stable; the chestnut mare would be fine, even in her older age.
Brushing Epona had been the last thing on her list until later in the day. Malon hummed as she waltzed to the farmhouse, directing herself to her favorite armchair and snatching the book she was reading. As she settled into the chair, her attempt at reading failed. Malon had the overwhelming feeling of something being wrong, she could almost equate it to a horse having a shoe that was just a little too loose, and it had grown ever since Epona had galloped away.
So absorbed in her thoughts, she didn’t hear the door open, nor the sound of boots and armor entering the room, “Malon?” Her head snapped up at the sound of her husband’s voice. Time stood in front of her, still clad in his armor. Malon rushed out the armchair to hug him, feeling him sink into her as soon as she had her arms around her. They pulled back, Malon cupping his cheek, finally getting a good look at him; his left ear was a little more torn than before, but the rest of his face appeared undamaged. His red eyes made her heart clench, swiping a thumb over a tear-tacky cheek.
“Where are the boys?” Time pulled his face away, looking away from Malon, “Link?” He was trembling, so she set a careful hand on his arm, moving to see his face. A hand rested on top of her’s, fingers brushing over her knuckles.
“They’re gone, they,” He swallowed, shiny tears forming in his eye, “It was time to go home.” Malon covered her mouth with her hand, eyes wide as she felt her own tears prick at them. A sob tore out of her throat- she never got to say goodbye to them. She was pulled into a hug, burying her head into his shoulder; crying for the loss of eight heroes she had come to see as sons.
A gentle hand rubbed up and down her back, “They left some things with me, to give to you,” Time’s voice was thick with emotion, “It seemed they knew it was the end, and they wanted to say goodbye one last time.” Malon pulled away, swiping at her face to brush the tears away.
“Everything they wanted to give to you is in that bag,” He gestured to the one sitting under the archway to the kitchen, “I need to clean up and get out of this armor. Will you be okay?” She nodded, leaning up to peck his cheek, before letting him go. On her way into the kitchen, she picked up the bag, carefully setting it down on the table. With a deep breath, Malon opened the bag, and reached in.
She pulled out a small box, stuck to the top was a letter that read ‘Twilight’. Malon slowly peeled the letter away, fearing damaging both the box and letter, and opened the box. Inside rested some sort of garment in the same color of her scarf. Gently, she pulled it out and unfolded it, taking the note that was wrapped in it.
‘This sash is part of traditional Ordon Village attire.’ Malon picked up the sash, feeling tears well in her eyes as she held up the garment; it looked exactly like the sash Twilight wore wrapped around his waist, albeit in a different color. She set it on the table with care, reaching over to the letter to read it.
Tears overflowed at every word scrawled in Twilight’s handwriting. Retelling his most memorable moments of the journey, accompanied by small doodles. She set the letter down and wiped at her tears, a small smile on her face. Malon gave a wet laugh- she’d be crying at all of the letters and gifts, wouldn’t she?
And she was right. Gifted to her were an intricate dagger, a detailed carving of the Lon Lon Dairy logo, a butterfly-shaped pendant, a Lon Lon Ranch snowglobe, a small wreath of flowers that seemed to not wilt, a scarf clip in the shape of Epona’s head, and what was undoubtedly an incredibly soft sweater interwoven with spells. After each gift, she had opened the letters, crying at the fondness the rowdy heroes she saw as sons had for her and the others.
Malon felt a hand rest on her shoulder and she leaned back, looking up at her husband, who wore a soft smile, “There’s one last gift for you.” She sniffled and smiled at him as he set a book down on the table in front of her. The cover read ‘Malon’ in swooping gold. She pulled it closer to her and opened it.
‘Dear Malon,
Thank you for everything you’ve done for us. You so readily invited us into your home, and treated us like your sons. We feel horrible about not being able to give you a proper good-bye, but we hope the gifts and letters suffice. Again, thank you, not only for your kindness and hospitality, but for being a mother figure.
We love you.’
Following the message were everyone’s signatures. Malon covered her mouth and sobbed, her heart was filled with both great happiness and sadness; she had become a massive figure in the lives of those boys, but now she would never see them again. Through her tears, she thumbed through the book, smiling at the pictures and captions, the margins were filled with notes from all nine of the heroes, making her heart fill with incredible fondness. Everything gifted would be cherished forever; Malon was incredibly proud of each and every one of them, and that pride would not waver.
