So, I've started listening to Malevolent. And it's only during the second episode that I realised how brilliant the premise of Arthur being blind and the American dude in his head seeing for him is. Because that must be like a cheat code for podcasts! He can describe everything around him so we, the listeners have a clear image of what's going on, but it also makes perfect sense for him to do that story wise, because Arthur needs to know all that! I'm aware that there must be whole essays about that already, I'm not the first one noticing it, but I just think it's very neat.
But what I really wanna know is, what the fuck is up with the dice rolls?? Those are dice rolls I'm hearing, right? Is this all just some people playing a ttrpg? I'm so confused about those.

just started Malevolent, and what is up with the dice rolling sfx that keeps happening? Like when Arthur and his brain passenger are looking around in the abandoned house, I keep distinctly hearing the sound of dice rattling in hand and rolling in a tray. Not sure if that's just the production team reusing the same sound bytes or if that's plot-relevant at all

i started listening to malevolent because of the tmagp hiatus, and all i knew about it was that it was a horror podcast and there was a yellow guy. i had fun with the first two seasons but wasn't super engaged with the plot, just the characters (which i adored from the start) and i was content with the idea that i might not continue it once tmagp started up again.
and then i started season 3, and it was like the plot started its testosterone injections and began morphing into the literary equivalent to adonis. season 4 has me pacing back and forth in my living room. it's just so good also why does that guy sound like colin farrell and why do i keep reading kayne as kanye (like west) instead of cain
