Hi! Might I request Dorian witnessing his lover get a beat down (verbal and physical) by his father after he finds out his sons with a fellow man?
Love your work, Terribly sorry if this is against anything!
The vitriol is esoteric enough to be truly Tevene, and cruel enough to be his father's. There is fine in his fist, but Dorian has learned to recognize his lover's face enough to know that the Inquisitor would not welcome his interference at this time.
And it makes him sick and furious to listen to his father lambast the greatest man Dorian has ever known with the arrogance only a Tevinter magister can truly summon. As if Halward Pavus has any right to judge the Herald of Andraste, no matter the man's choices in bed mates. It is clear that the Inquisitor is unfazed by the tirade, but the scion of House Pavus cannot push against the feeling of being fifteen years old again and helpless against the despair and pain at losing his father's regard--
The necromancer is so caught in that terrible spiral of memory that the first ringing slap staggers him more than his amatus. Rage deamons howl at the back of his mind for entrance into the mortal world, and Dorian will later find bloody furrows in his palm from the bite of his own nails. He is going to kill his father, hang Tevinter and all its good, and declare himself a southern mage for life. Except...
Except there is something in the Inquisitor's quiet gaze, the solemn and serene power that has looked on the Breach and Corypheus and certain death without a quaver. Even Halward's roiling anger seems to falter before it; when the inquisitor speaks, his tone matches the gaze. Power, yes, but the simple understanding that what is before him is not truly a threat.
"He was right, Dorian. Blood magic truly is the grasping attempt by a weak mind incapable of better solutions. We are done here."
Halward's next blow bounces off Dorian's shield, and while the younger Pavus wishes desperately to turn more magic onto the paterfamilias of his house, somehow that quiet statement is enough.
Will be enough, in the quiet moments of doubt and pain and sorrow, for the rest of his life.
(Later, he will show his amatus how a stronger mind is capable of all manner of better solutions.)

Gill's companion icons.
Always wanted to try and draw those DAI icons for my inquisitor but never had time :/
I was a bit burned out of drawing these couple of months, so i'm trying to recover by drawing my and other people's characters.

WIP Wednesday
Thanks to @anderstrevelyan for the tag because I actually have words for the week! This snippet was inspired by a prompt from @mxkelsifer for my Commoner Inquisitor and Lace Harding: I decided to take the actual ask in a different direction, but I'm proud of this little scene so here it is ❤️
He scowled but Harding only snickered. "It's a dance, Inquisitor. Not a fight. Stop trying to 'win' it."
His expression softened around the eyes, but his jaw stayed tense. His lips parted then pursed again like he was chewing on his words.
"I just … want to do it right."
"You're just learning," she replied with a breezy smile. "You didn't pick up a shield one day and become a captain the next. And this … well it's all about flow. Grace."
"Fantastic," he replied in a heavy deadpan.
"Oh, all it takes is time." She squeezed the Inquisitor's hand, which had gone a little clammy and stiff during the lesson. "That's all I meant. You don't have to be a natural."
She moved through the steps again, practically pulling the large man along with her. The shuffle of his heavy footsteps echoed in the rafters of the tower. Lace had cleared out one of the storage floors for their late night lessons. She was surprised that anyone had taken her up on her offer, given her erratic schedule, and even more surprised that it was the Herald himself. But in a cotton shirt under leather jerkin and trousers, he looked more like the Redcliffe blacksmith than any Leader of the Faithful.
"I'm wasting your time."
Harding blinked, startled out of her reverie. "What?"

I’ve been sitting on this since October and I don’t know why.  Probably because I’m not altogether happy with it, but can’t figure out what.  There was supposed to be some sort of drabble to go along with this, but I got tired of holding on to this.  I’ve been experimenting with new brushes.  It takes three times as long to finish anything and is six times more difficult, but I’m not sure I can argue with the results.  But you can be the judge of that.
Imagine you’re a Tevinter magister, and some punk has taken back your orb.  This is the last thing you see before a voice says, “You wanted into the Fade?”
If you like this, consider leaving a tip on my Ko-Fi.

You tried to change me
I felt inspired for a quick, small drabble for my daily writing <3 I try to write every Day to get my inspiration back, and while I love Fenris, Dorian was my first ever Dragon Age romance. I never wrote him to this point, because I was always afraid my writing is not enough to be of justice of him, but lately I try not to overthink too much and just write what's in my head to get better. Have to start with something after all :) Fandom: Dragon Age Inquiisiton Pairing: Dorian Pavus/Male Lavellan Rating: T Words: 664
“You tried to… to change me”
He can’t forget the words Dorian said to his father, the hurt in his words and face. It was like seeing the real Dorian for the first time, a man hurt over the inability of his father to accept him for simply being himself.
It’s an emotion he understands all too well.
The rotunda is quiet, except for the cawing of Leliana’s ravens up in the rookery. An opened book still lies on Solass's desk, abandoned for the night as the man had eventually retired for the evening. All well of course and yet, it’s still odd to see the usually occupied chair abandoned for once.
His feet take him up the stairs, casting one last glance at the faintly illuminated murals before the smell of old books and parchments hit him.
He was told, the Inquisition’s library is supposed to be small against others and yet, for him it’s still a small kind of miracle to see so many books in one place. But maybe, an elf growing up outside of any cities, couldn’t make a real comparison after all.
Not that this thought is going to lead him anywhere for the time being though.
His eyes spot the man he is searching for, settled down on the big armchair a glass of wine in his hand as he holds it into the light. He watches as the colourful light, falling through the painted window dances on the surface, the liquid still untouched and its holder only staring at it blankly.
The silence is unbearable.
“I’m sorry about the way it went down with your father.” Lavellan’s voice is soft when he speaks up. “I wouldn’t have put you up to this if I had known.” He watches Dorian’s fingers moving slightly, showing his alert before he even shifts his face to look at him.
“Oh, Don’t apologize.” Dorian puts the glass away to wave his hand absentmindedly. “You couldn’t have known, and it’s not like you kept the meeting a meeting to begin with. We both know that this hen of a revered Mother asked you to keep the letter a secret.”
“I wouldn’t have been able to keep it from you. It didn’t seem fair.” He shrugs, shuffling his feet a bit awkwardly. This is not going as he had thought it would when he decided to approach the Tevinter mage in the first place. But, then again, it never happens as someone played it out in their head before, didn’t it?
“But, nevermind that. Are you alright?”  He watches Dorian’s expression falter for a moment, the hurt crossing his eyes once more before he takes a deep breath.
“Not really. But I will be.” Dorian pauses for a moment, his lips and moustache twitching. “You knew all along, didn’t you? About me?” he adds, causing Lavellan to shuffle his feet again before he answers.
“I mean… I flirted with you a lot, and you returned it.” Lavellan chuckles softly. “So, I at least took you for being interested in both at least.” he pauses for a second, before adding: “But even if I wouldn’t have, it wouldn’t have mattered to me.”
Surprise shifts over Dorian’s face, the smallest hint of a smile following that warms his eyes just a tad.
“Thank you.” his voice is surprisingly soft when he speaks. “For both telling me that and for giving me the opportunity to tell my father how I truly feel. It won’t make up for the past years, and I doubt we will become close with each other again but… it’s a beginning I suppose.”
Lavellan watches when Dorian reaches back for the glass, about to bring it to his lips before he pauses again, padding the cushioned stool standing next to him.
“Join me for a drink, would you? Your ambassador managed to get her hands on the most exquisite tevene wine. It would be a shame to drink it all on my own.”

Zevran: Hey! I'm right here, you know.
Darrian: By the gods, we're too bisexual for this.
Zevran: Thank you, amor. 😘
