I want to know your other Malcolm/Anders thoughts,,

Ok so:

Both Anders and Malcolm are ex-Circle mages who are against the Circle and that makes for some delicious interaction. Malcolm validating all of Anders's opinions would imo feel amazing for Anders. And Malcolm actually got to live the life Anders wanted - be free, find a sweetheart, have a family. For Anders, Malcolm represents wishes come true. I just hink their interaction would've been very neat, but at the same time I'm glad bioware didn't write it bc they would've then for sure written Malcolm as a wet noodle just to make sure that Anders is as singled out in his opinions as he is in canon.

My other thoughts are mostly just AUs I think of for fun (and mostly to torture Hawke with lmao)

AU 1: Malcolm and Leandra having an open kind of relationship (bc I don't like cheating) and younger Anders (before his 1 year in solitary) running away from the Circle yet again and passing near Lothering and stright through the Hawke's farm while nobody but Malcolm is home. Cathartic mage boning ensues. Malcolm being a free mage who got to have a family plays a huge role in Anders absolutely refusing to give up escaping the Circle, and later in his motivation to give every mage that chance to be free and happy. Meeting Hawke for the first time is like "you remind of someone I met once..." and then later has to wonder how to break the news to Hawke about fucking his dad in their home that one time before lmao. Maybe handers happen first and then it slips out oops lmao

AU 2: Malcolm is the one who survives instead of Leandra. Upon meeting each other for the first time via Hawke, he and Anders become friends very quickly. I've actually written about this AU before and it's not strictly Malcolm/Anders as much as it is about their friendship and Hawke being jealous and seeing it as more than what it is. But you know, they can totally bone at some point while Anders still thinks Hawke doesn't want him. Just for extra Hawke angst lmao
