Two from the same episode this time around, tried to cut it down to one but the quote from the wagon one was too cool to pass up. And I already had a fun visual idea for 'eat me' in my head so just ended up doing them both.
It's the first with doubles but not the last, a few of Micheals episodes have lots of good lines I want to do.
I'm really proud that I didn't give up making the cracked glass the text, instead of putting it around the image. Because I was struggling to make it look good for a while but we got their eventually.

The Flesh in The Magnus Archives is associated with Christianity in MAG 5 - Thrown Away, MAG 19/20 - Confession/Desecrated Host, MAG 58 - Trail Rations, and MAG 130 - Flesh, and I think that's very interesting, because I started thinking about it yesterday, and I knew that The Flesh was associated with Christianity, but I have Thoughts.
There's a lot of stuff with Catholicism, with the whole eating the flesh and blood of Christ in MAG 19/20. There's also the Lord's prayer appearing in MAG 5 and MAG 58. And then of course the Gnostic temple in MAG 130.
There's also the whole mormon -- and probably other types of Christianity -- idea of heaven stripping away all your flaws, which is actually pretty horrifying if you think about it, and if you're not good in the eyes of God, then you won't go to heaven, and that's often just not being allocishet and other similarly fine things to be and do. And like in the season 5 Flesh episodes, a lot of it was wanting to be seen as useful and good to others at the expense of yourself, and that came with body image issues, and literally marching to your own death -- because if you don't, then you'll be not useful and dead.
I'm not entirely sure how to articulate my thoughts here, but I am thinking. Sure am thinking. Please, think with me.

This statement reminds me a lot of MAG 58: Trail Rations, what with the statement giver being trapped by the weather/nature, and the person talking after death to encourage the other to join the Entity as well.
This line specifically I found chilling: 'At some point Stefan must have finally died. I know this because when he started talking to us again, there was no way he could have made those noises unless his lungs and throat were fully packed with sediment.'
Oh man that combo of knowing they died because they're talking again sure is something

I called over to him, for a second overjoyed that he might be alive, but as soon as I touched his ice-cold skin already beginning to turn blue I knew that it could not be so. Despite this, his head began to turn towards me and his frozen eyes opened. His lips parted above the gaping red slash across his throat and he spoke.

What is it with the flesh and having some of the most amazing quotes. the use of vaguely religious sounding statements is so good.
I couldn't choose between the two so ended up doing designs for both.
I wanted the design to be a mirror and I had the idea of it cracking in to the words pretty quickly but geeze if it didn't take for ever Messing around the words so they would read clearly but still look like cracks.
