Born to Mathew - a muggle professor in linguistics - and Charlotte - an Auror in the Ministry of Magic - Doe was taught that strength came from within. Embarking their wisdom, she encapsulated the best of them. With her father’s wit and intellect and her mother’s bravery, drive and persistence, it became clear to her peers that Dorcas could and would stand defiantly for truth and honor. Fate and destiny were mere fairy tales in the young witch’s mind, with one’s future path forged not from chance but from perseverance. Growing between two worlds ignited a passionate love affair for both sides of her heritage. Fascinating over Ancient Runes with feminist female muggle rock bands blaring from her portal player, she glowed in the opportunities, art and knowledge held in both. For her parents, it was important she understood what being a ‘Half-Blood’ meant in the wizarding world. While celebrated by them, not everyone was as liberal with their ideologies. Prejudice was a suffocating reality that left even Charlotte cast from her wizarding family because of who she chose to love. Assured that her value was not minimized to something as fragile as blood, being a part of both worlds was a gift; even if at times it came with burdens.

Heeding her parents' warning when at last her Hogwarts letter arrived, Doe packed her bags adamant that she wouldn’t be demoralized for she was the hero of her own story. With that, there was no surprise she was sorted into the house of the lion hearted; Gryffindor. Befriending fellow first years and dorm mates: LILY EVANS [best friend], MARY MACDONALD [best friend], and MARLENE MCKINNON [best friend], they brought out the best in one another. Doe took pride as the voice of reason. Strong morals guiding her true, blunt sarcasm pulled her friends out of their antics with Doe making sure they had both feet in reality. Inseparable, they spent nights gossiping as they painting their nails with polish Mary gathered before following Marlene to The Black Lake at the cusp of nightfall only to meet the ‘famous’ Marauders; JAMES POTTER [friend/rival], SIRIUS BLACK [friend/rival], PETER PETTIGREW [close friend] and REMUS LUPIN [best friend]. Knowing the four from class and the common room, Doe held skepticism towards them all. Particularly, James and Sirius who’s arrogance she found antagonizing. Their charmed gimmicks fell short with rolls of her eyes and sharp tongue calling out their laddish behavior.

Rightfully pointed out by Mary, they contradicted that Doe’s dislike could be rooted in jealousy. Possessing suppressed feelings for Marlene, her relationship with James and close bond with Sirius left her feeling discarded and absent. But in Mar’s neglect, Doe found a confidant in Remus. Between shared chocolate squares, he listened to her rant and watched her make the occasional rock explode with a quick and easy flick of her wand. Matters of unrequited love never held well in hearts, though the burden was lessened with Remus by her side. Love and the arrogance of men were soon to be the least of her worries with the end of her fifth year bringing heart retching tragedy. Pulled out of her Transfiguration class, Dorcas was brought to the Head Master’s office to be delivered the news that while on their research trip to Norway, her parents had been ambushed. A group of radicalized wizards attacked, killing her father instantly. While her mother had fought tactfully to ward off the invaders, she was exposed to Dragon Pox and died merely a few days later. Packed off to live with her muggle aunt - the only relative she had left -, Doe turned cold and blunt as she quivered in consuming grief.

Dangerous activities became her outlet, following the reckless lead of Marlene, James and Sirius. New found vices brought concern to some; but with the burn of fire whiskey, the thick smog of cigarettes and soaring over the Black Lake gave her the adrenaline she needed to distract her from her pain, then that is what she would do. She knew that her parents wouldn’t have approved of how she was handling their passing, but they weren’t here to say otherwise. Someone that seemed to find calm in Doe again was GWENOG JONES [former partner]. After a passing challenge to join her in flight, the pair quickly found a connection with one another. For the first time Doe’s affection was equally reciprocated. Their love was a whirlwind. Wound up in their last years of Hogwarts, it was filled with each other’s firsts. Gwen held Doe up when she needed it the most and together they pieced back the broken shards of each other's hearts. Tender kisses trailed over shoulders, clasped hands and the brisk breeze of air on their faces as they chased the sunset like nothing could ever tear them apart. Unfortunately, change came when Gwen was scouted to join the Holyhead Harpies. Though they held deep affection for one another with a job lined up at the Ministry the two parted ways so they could both fulfill their dreams with heavy hearts.

For safe measure with rumors of war emerging, upon graduating Doe uttered ‘obliviate’, erasing her from her Aunt’s memory; hoping she wouldn’t befall the same fate as her parents. Mary, Lily and Mar were quick to assure that they along with the boys would be her family now. With batted breath, she clung to them like they were all she had in the world. Following in her mother’s footsteps, Doe joined the ranks of Aurors at the Ministry of Magic. Working alongside forces such as HESTIA JONES [colleague], ALICE YEN [colleague/mentor], and GRACE HAYWOOD [colleague] all three dominating leaders and trailblazers that she couldn’t help but look up to. Though Hestia seemed hesitant at embracing Doe, Alice welcomed her with open arms. Recognizing the great passion and drive for equal rights within Doe, she scouted and informed her of a new group forming under the rank of PROFESSOR ALBUS DUMBLEDORE [former headmaster]; The Order of The Phoenix. Hoping to safeguard the Wizarding World from radical wizards, Doe accepted without a blink of hesitation. Craving purpose, Doe saw the opportunity as a way to honor her parents. Fighting for the equal world they dreamed of in hopes to finally make them proud.

After the solstice of 1983 everything fell into perspective for Dorcas. After watching the order scramble in an unprecedented war she is adamant for that meek feeling to never capture her again. With cases piled high, every one became more dire than the next she transferred to the hit wix division under ANNABETH PEBWORTH [boss/close friend] to put her talents to better use. Gunning for big names, Doe's observance of LACHESIS MALFOY [adversary] continues as their pompous behavior at the sight of muggles leaves her suspicious. Categorizing their political moves with the help of MALFADA HOPKIRK [colleague/romantic liaison] assistant to MILLICENT BAGNOLD [boss], she's started to notice a pattern of behavior. Particularly with those Lachesis affiliated themselves with; JAE MULCIBER [adversary] and EDRICK SELWYN [adversary]. Suspecting corruption in the Ministry itself, under the disguise of a beauty potion she bought a charmed two way note book off CHIARA LOBOSCA [acquaintance] from Obsurcus Books; with one book detailing everything spoken near its pair. Planning to plant the object within an office in hopes to catch a snake in the grass, the question being, which door to unlock first.

June 26th

In a surprise gesture of good faith, Rodolphus Lestrange announces plans to start rebuilding St Mungos in order to win over those people who are still unsure of his rule. Narcissa Malfoy, Aurora Sinistra and Orion and Walburga Black are among the first to publicly support this and reparations soon begin with various fundraisers arranged to help with the funding of it all as well.

June 27th - July 5th

Taking advantage or how things seem to have settled for the time being, talks begin to be held between Aversio and The Order, led by Ted Tonks, Kingsley Shaklebolt, Alastor Moody and Florence Wilson. Progress is slow but Marlene McKinnon, Alice Prewett, Edgar Bones and Frank Longbottom all work to make things go as smoothly as possible. But other members such as Sirius Black are still frustrated with how slowly things are moving and begin to get disillusioned with the Order.

July 6th

With the talks having proven reasonably successful if not providing the perfect outcome, Millicent Bagnold feels it important that those in the population who might still support their cause know that there are still those willing to stand against the current government. With the help of Hestia Jones, a letter is put together to send out to all those who might still support The Order and let them know that not all is hopeless.

July 8th

The first fundraiser for St Mungos is held with Natalie Dupont stepping up to take the lead on it, assisted by Orion Black and Regulus Black. Despite opposing those in power, The Order and Aversio try to do what they can from the sidelines with some members such as Gladys Gudgeon, Ivy Rosmerta and Lucinda Talkalot attending under Polyjuice Potion and others donating what they can despite their own uncertain position.

July 10th

Posters find their way into Diagon Alley in the middle of the night, written by Hestia Jones and created by Edgar Bones. They speak out against the current Minister and make it clear what kind of man he is and what his rule will result in. In retaliation, Rodolphus Lestrange announces a zero tolerance policy towards anyone who aligns themselves with either The Order or Aversio, declaring them terrorists and enemies to the government and puts his brother Rabastan Lestrange in charge of the operation.

July 11th

Sensing that public opinion might be shifting against them, Emma Vanity gives a public interview questioned by Rita Skeeter and later takes steps to persuade Gilderoy Lockhart to begin supporting them as well, feeling as though they could use some extra celebrity endorsement.

July 13th

An uneasy peace has now been established between Aversio and The Order, however temporary it may be. Still, some members remain unhappy with things and a frustrated Sirius Black ends up in a heated discussion with Lily Evans and Remus Lupin about what should be being done and which organisation has more merit to it.

July 15th

An argument breaks out between Rabastan Lestrange and Orion Black when the former realises that the older man doesn’t fully support his brother. The ensuing fight rocks the Death Eater ranks, leaving some whispering among one another whether the Lestranges are the correct family to be in power and others feeling more confident in their support of them.

July 17th

Aversio members such as Lucinda Talkalot, Ivy Rosmerta, and Sybill Trelawney are still unsure and unconvinced of The Order and decide to find some way to strike a blow themselves. Their plans never come to fruition however with Cassandra Burke overhearing them and persuading them to delay their plans until there is a better time to strike.

July 20th

The engagement of Emma Vanity and Rabastan Lestrange is announced to the world in the Daily Prophet. Plans begin to be made behind the scenes for a party to bring those who support the Lestranges closer together and fix any division in the ranks with help from Natalie Dupont, Alecto Carrow and Narcissa Black.

July 22nd

Having received her invitation, Aurora Sinistra reaches out to both Greta Catchlove and Florence Wilson with an idea to get a few members of both Aversio and The Order into the engagement party. Plans begin to be made with Alastor Moody, Kingsley Shaklebolt and Millicent Bagnold being brought in on the proceedings.

After a confrontation, Kingsley Shaklebolt forces Cassandra Burke to leave the castle, unable to trust her around such critical plans due to her neutrality. Molly Weasley is there to mediate the interaction.

July 25th

Those members of Aversio who have been staying with the Order such as Marlene McKinnon, Andromeda Tonks and Ted Tonks, along with some Order members like Edgar Bones agree that it would be a good idea to bring both the groups together even more and get them all on the same track once again. Greta Catchlove, Hestia Jones, Alice Prewett and Molly Weasley host a small gathering in the castle, doing the biggest room up and putting up as much of a feast as can be afforded.

July 29th

A party is held at the Lestrange Manor to celebrate the engagement and everyone in pureblood society, as well as a few choice extras such as Gilderoy Lockhart, has an invitation. The sunny day ends up being perfect for the garden party that had been planned and it is generally enjoyed by all. Unbeknown to all those present, four of the guests are not what they seem. Florence Wilson, Benjy Fenwick, Sirius Black and Lily Evans infiltrate the party and are under strict instructions not to engage in any violence or disrupt the proceedings in any way. They are simple there to watch, listen and report particularly to the speech that is to be given by Rodolphus Lestrange.

July 30th

Suspicious that Gilderoy Lockhart had an invitation to every party and wary of Sirius Black’s opposition to The Order, Alastor Moody meets with Benjy Fenwick to discuss his suspicions.

Later on that day, Gilderoy Lockhart decides to meet with Rita Skeeter and discusses what he knows about Aversio with her having been won over by what he witnessed at the Lestrange Manor and promises of furthering his career.

July 31st

Greta Catchlove leaves the castle along with Fabian Prewett in order to find out more information about her brother’s killer. Later that night, an unwitting Cassandra Burke is made an easy target without the protection that the castle had provided for her and Walden Macnair finally succeeds in tracking her down. A scuffle ensues but despite putting up a fight the Death Eater is the one who emerges victorious, taking the ‘traitor’ into his custody.

Booker Bagnold was a truly remarkable individual, whose kind and loyal nature endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His heart was so deep and giving that it was impossible for him to stop spreading inspiration wherever he went. The younger child of MILLICENT BAGNOLD [mother], the then-Senior Undersecretary to The Minister for Magic, and Rutherford Bagnold, a wizarding tech genius, Booker's childhood was one of pure bliss. Although his older brother, HARRISON BAGNOLD [sibling], was a bit of a brooder and didn't spend much time with him, Booker still held him in high regard. They lived in a modern home in Wimbledon, and Booker cherished his room – his safe space – which had a breathtaking view of the green belt that ran behind their house. He would spend hours gazing out the window, watching the animals frolic in the forest and occasionally catching sight of a magical creature. The Bagnold family had a penchant for travel, and they frequently embarked on adventures to international Quidditch games and Millicent's birthplace in Ireland.

During the summer holiday before Booker was set to embark on his first year at Hogwarts, he vividly recalled a conversation with Harrison. The latter was preparing for an event, and let out a heavy sigh before revealing that when he was Booker's age, their parents were hardly ever present in his life. Unlike Booker, he was compelled to attend numerous events and they never went on any trips together. However, Harrison pointed out that their parents had a complete change of heart after Booker's birth. Booker, being the compassionate person he was, tried to consolidate him, but despite his efforts Harrison vehemently disagreed, insisting that their parents simply loved Booker more. Unfortunately, this remark struck a chord with Booker, and he began to feel guilty for how his parents treated him. Booker began to blame himself for Harrison not having the same childhood experiences as him and became more in on himself in their presence, declining their offers to enjoy himself instead standing by his brother’s side dutifully in the hope to make it up to him.

Sorted into Hufflepuff, he was ushered to his dorm deep within the castle. It was there that he met his soon-to-be best friend, EDWARD TONKS [best friend], they connected instantly and their friendship stayed strong throughout Hogwarts and into adulthood. Being a loyal friend, along with his disliking of injustice, Booker often found himself standing up for Ted against bullies like RABASTAN LESTRANGE [adversary] and his group of friends, CAIUS BURKE [adversary], XERXES ZABINI [adversary], AURELIA ROOKWOOD [adversary] and KERVENS BORGIN [adversary]. His stance and advocacy lead to him making other friends along the way including ELIZABETH BRAITHWAITE [close friend], MARIANNE MACMILLAN [friend], LAURENCE ABBOTT [friend], and CELIA ABBOTT [friend/potential love interest]. But he found a real friend in LANA CROUCH [best friend] though his interests. He saw a lot of himself in Lana, she was a bright girl lost in a big family trying to find her way, which he noticed she did when she began taking an interest in magical creatures, much to Booker’s delight. When he wasn’t caring for magical creatures in the forest with Hagrid or reading up on them in the library with Lana, he was pouring himself over Celia, their relationship blossoming into something more than just a friendship.

Booker Bagnold's infatuation with Celia lingered beyond the walls of Hogwarts, and into their twenties. Meanwhile, Booker's passion for magical creatures had paid off, and he landed a position in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures alongside Lana, and it wasn’t long before Booker found himself in the being division which dealt with magical creatures that possessed human-like intellect, including werewolves, vampires, giants, and centaurs. However, Booker was quickly disillusioned by the rampant discrimination he encountered in the wizarding community towards these creatures. He was appalled by the way his colleagues, like WALDEN MCNAIR [adversary] treated injured werewolves and altered centaur testimonies to fit the wizarding community's expectations. These creatures were sentient beings who deserved to be treated with respect and dignity, and Booker reported these incidents to Aurors such as HESTIA JONES [acquaintance] and barristers like RODOLPHUS LESTRANGE [acquaintance]. Unfortunately, their responses were unsatisfactory, always too busy to listen to him and tied up in other projects. Soon Booker realised that he needed to take more drastic measures to aid magical beings in the wizarding community.

Fortunately, his mother had been appointed Minister for Magic at this time, and he arranged a meeting with her to voice his concerns and suggestions. While she was receptive, she requested that Booker gather the signatures required for the Wizengamot to consider a law that prohibited the discrimination of magical beings in the wizarding community. She warned him that not everyone would share his views, and he would need to gather a significant number of signatures. Booker began by approaching his colleagues, but while some refused to sign, such as Walden, while others signed without hesitation. He then turned to his friends, including Celia. To his surprise, Celia disagreed with his views, which caused their budding romance to falter. Despite this setback, Booker remained committed to his mission to make the wizarding community more inclusive, collecting as many signatures as he could. The night of the Halloween ball in 1982 is when Booker's tale came to its tragic end. Booker moved through the ballroom with vigour, trying to persuade as many guests as possible to sign his petition. The pure-bloods snarled at him, and those who were aware of his intentions avoided him. His brother, was particularly angry at Booker bringing his petition, snatching it from him and ripping it up in front of his very eyes.

Enraged, Booker fled the ballroom, smacking into Rabastan Lestrange upon his exit to the balcony by mistake. Always game for a fight, Rabastan quickly dug his teeth into Booker, mocking him and his cause and a wand battle broke out between the two. As Rabastan wiped blood from the corner of his mouth, Booker noticed something change in his face. Before Booker could even call for help, Rabastan cast a spell that tore a ferocious, werewolf-like gash through his chest. The world fell silent as he tumbled over the balcony railing, with the wind rushing past him and screams echoing through the air, narrowly missing MARLENE MCKINNON [potential love interest] who he had hoped to meet later that evening for a kiss and a dance in the darkness. After his untimely death, Rabastan framed SILAS CRUMP [acquaintance] for the murder. As the mystery surrounding Booker's death unfolded, his petition lay neglected on Harrison’s desk, pieced back together, gathering dust as the ink slowly faded from its pages. Would his legacy perish with him, or would someone pick up the mantle of his cause, fighting for the rights and equality of creatures in the wizarding world?

Marlene McKinnon was shaking. For a woman who so often took life into her own hands, full of impulse and determination with so little regard to the consequences, she was absolutely terrified. After the attacks on the Ministry and St. Mungo’s, the witch had been filled with too many emotions. Many of which had been aimed at the Death Eaters, at Aversio; some toward Dirk, who had been so stupid, blindly charging and getting Benjy hurt. Determination, now more than ever, to finish what she and Amos had started. If Aversio wanted a fight, she would give them one, wanted to make an enemy of the Order, they would have one. First they let Dorcas lose her life, did nothing to bring her home. And now they had corrupted her best mate into harming people she loved; Alice, Benjy, countless innocent casualties. It was a blessing their Minister hadn’t been killed, even with a snake residing in Millicent Bagnold’s rightful title now. Had Aversio killed another Minister, someone Marlene truly respected and supported, no less. . .well, she didn’t know if Dirk would forgive himself, down the road. Even more terrifying, had Benjy died, Marlene didn’t know if she could forgive him.

But she knew that she couldn’t think of that now. The anxiety vibrating throughout Marlene’s entire body alone was enough to keep her going, without every what if continuing to circle through her mind. All that mattered now, was that Alice and Benjy were alive. That the rightful Minister was alive and safe. That Marlene was finally doing the right thing, doing what should have been done months before, being responsible enough to own up to the childish, impulsive acts that, at eighteen, seemed proactive. Leaving Hogwarts, Aversio had been nothing but a blip, a rebel group determined to take down the Death Eaters. There was no possible way to know, then, what it would grow into. But she couldn’t back them now, not with their convoluted agenda, no matter how viciously damaged Marlene herself had become.

She had gotten the safe house location easy enough. Finding her way had been the easy part, but Marlene could guess that she’d have seen that coming. Bagnold might have declared sanctuary to Aversio members wishing to reform. Marlene may have been desperately working to get out, Amos and his faith in her offering more redemption than she’d deserved. She didn’t know if Millicent already knew, who Amos had told, but it didn’t matter now. Even if her core felt ready to implode, the nerves and anxiety-induced, enlarged possible outcomes swirling through her mind, Marlene had to do this. Seeing Millicent, a breath hitched in her throat. She had always held nothing but respect for the woman before her, finding admiration in the ways she held herself. Not once had she ever been nervous in her presence, but this was different, and Marlene knew it. Her usual, exuberant entrance, careless attitude, it had no place. Not this time. “M - Minister Bagnold?” It felt foreign, being so formal, in the crumbling castle, to a woman she had been so casual toward on countless instances. “D’you have a minute?”
