HSR Men Omegaverse (A/B/O) Dynamics

This is entirely self-serving, but let's be honest, the HSR community is kinda starving for a/b/o content. So! I'm here to make sure y'all are fed. ♡ And if you're at all upset with the dynamics I give them, fear not! I may or may not write content in the future that will dabble in giving them other dynamics.

Rating: SFW Warnings: None Characters: Caelus, Dan Heng, Welt, Gepard, Sampo, Luka, Jing Yuan, Luocha, Blade, Argenti + Dr Ratio Summary: What the dynamics of all the HSR men would be, and how it plays into their personalities and environments.

At first, no one was really sure what CAELUS was, to be honest. The only person who really seemed interested in guessing or betting anything was March, who excitedly hoped he was another omega she could drag into her nest and gossip with. However, it wasn't long after finally settling on the express that his dynamic was revealed; Caelus is a BETA. This doesn't really affect him at all, aside from general uneducated in matters pertaining to alphas and omegas. Though, it has been theorized that this is a best-case scenario regarding the stellaron inside Caelus's body. If he was an alpha or omega, a rut or heat cycle might negatively affect the stellaron, and vice versa.

DAN HENG neither openly talks about nor hides the fact that he is an ALPHA. He's fairly quiet and keeps to himself most of the time, so it took everyone on the Nameless some time to find out initially. In previous incarnations, his alpha status helped in the efficiency and social standing of the High Elder, but that proves meaningless to Dan Heng now. All it means to him in the present is that March will steal his clothes and he has an excuse to be left alone for a whole week once every few months.

When first meeting WELT, it's almost suffocatingly obvious that's an ALPHA, from his tall stature, deep voice, and a tangible instinct to protect the rest of the Nameless. Though, once he softens up and reveals himself to be a more gentle, wise, and excitable man, he never loses that air of authority to him. Not in a governing sense, but in the same way as a calming father-figure. Welt will protect those close to him with his life, not willing to let them suffer the same as so many others. He's very comfortable in his status as well, not being afraid to indulge in things more traditionally labeled as for omegas.

The Landau family is an old, prestigious lineage, one that carries with it a lot of tradition - one that GEPARD's father tried to uphold. Despite being a BETA, Gepard has been raised and trained with a traditionally alpha mentality. His job is to protect, serve, and provide for Belebog and the Landau family. Though, he maintained his gentler demeanor in large part due to the continued presence and support of Serval and Lynx. Sometimes he feels an added sense of stress that he isn't an alpha, like his father had hoped for, but he is reminded with every passing day that his dynamic doesn't factor into his value as a Silvermane Guard, or as a Landau.

Acting as prime suspect witness to those reminders is SAMPO. Everyone in Belebog, including Gepard, assumes the slippery con man is an alpha - after all, that's how he has meticulously portrayed himself. A two-faced alpha whose only interest is in lining his own pockets. But underneath all the fake smiles, disguises, and scams is a proud BETA of the Masked Fools. If anything, this dynamic suits Sampo perfectly, as he can feasibly tailor any kind of dynamic he wants for his new persona. Need a beautiful, unassuming omegan woman? Now you have Madam Brughel Poisson. Besides, dealing with a rut or heat cycle wouldn't exactly be all that fun, would it?

Now, Belebog isn't home to just betas. Somewhere in the depths of the Underworld, LUKA is either engaged in a brawl with a formidable foe or keeping a protective watch over the kids. Dynamics aren't very important in the everyday lives of the people in the Underground, but the second he steps into a room, it's immediately obvious that he is an ALPHA. This is made even more clear in his close relationships with other alphas; his playful rivalry with Seele, his brotherly role to Hook, and his training with Oleg.

Acting as the General of the Xianzhou Loufu, carrying the lofty title of Divine Foresight, JING YUAN is the definition of an ALPHA. Every few decades, there's a few scandalous headlines that propose the rumor that he's secretly an omega due to his nonchalant demeanor and close mentorship of Yanqing, but they're quickly disproven every time. While yes, a lofty role doesn't equate to being an alpha, but it's hard to dispute his overwhelming presence. All of the staff in the Seat of Divine Foresight are witnesses to his stubbornness, his cunning, and the crackling tension that arises with the General's anger, no matter how he tries to contrast it with his easy-going attitude.

It never crosses anyone's mind to question what LUOCHA is, exactly. Not everyone's dynamic is immediately obvious, and he's a traveling merchant after all, he might come from a culture with different ideas of how to appear as one dynamic over another. Just another face and scent in a sea of faces and scents. There are very few who know that he's an OMEGA, and even those that do, they don't really care to act on that fact. Don't let his dynamic fool you - it requires a lot of audacity and righteous passion to drive one to want to kill an Aeon.

As a weapon, there is no need for such labels. None of these words mean much to BLADE anymore, even if they still continue to affect him. He never acknowledges the fact that he's an ALPHA, not finding that it swings his sword any faster or brings death any quicker. Though, he can't dispute the way his dynamic serves against his best interests, as any stimuli that emboldens that part of him typically retaliates in the form of the mara. Whenever he's able to indulge in the occasional guilty pleasure, however, he finds himself to be surprisingly tender. Kafka once caught him hoarding a few of the weighted stuffed animals she and Silver Wolf got to soothe his chronic pain, scenting them and trilling at them. Thank the Aeons it was only Kafka who found him, or else Silver Wolf would have been teasing him about it for weeks.

ARGENTI will never be one to hide any part of his identity, proclaiming loudly and proudly that he is an ALPHA serving the Aeon of Beauty, Idrila. At first, he may be met with some speculation as to whether he's telling the truth. It's not every day that you meet an alpha that smells so flowery and disarming, much similarly to an omega. Not to mention that he's just as tender, just as wholeheartedly loving as all those lovesick omegas on tv. But similarly to Jing Yuan, he has a certain presence to him that certainly proves his claim.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, regarded as arrogant, brilliant, and an all-around pain in the ass, is DR RATIO. While he will firmly assert that his dynamic has no bearing on his personality nor capabilities, he is very knowledgeable on how being an ALPHA affects his every day life. Dr Ratio takes great care in assuring that not even idiots can misconstrue his intentions, putting on scent patches and never baring his teeth. However, this has led a few to question whether he really is an alpha, pointing out that his grandiose personality may point to him trying to compensate. In one way or another, they are swiftly proven wrong, even if Dr Ratio doesn't see their 'close-minded ignorance' as worth his time nor an explanation.

Did you know that the same specialist predator/prey population dynamics over time that you usually see described in terms of Canadian lynx and snowshoe hare also apply perfectly well to Vibrio cholerae and its most common bacteriophage?

And that this is a major factor in why pathogenic cholera outbreaks — caused mostly by only one lineage of V. cholerae bacteria — eventually fade even if the population isn't wholly infected by cholera or wiped out by it?

The world is a wild and fascinating place.

Upon your arrival at the palace, he took on the role of a guardian, and prioritizing your safety, well-being and your progress to choose the next king became one of his most important duties. A complex and multi-dimensional personality, you constantly discover new aspects of him, making him more intriguing and sparking your desire to delve deeper. His self-sufficiency, refusal to be associated with any particular faction, and commitment to fulfilling his duties to the best of his abilities mask a dark and painful past that haunts him like a ghost. The shadow of his birth, the darkness that has always controlled him, rears its head, representing him as a mere pawn, and only...one decision from you will set him free.

❥ 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 :

One could say that Vernard's existence was the result of a mistake made by not only his mother, but also Rhodolite's previous king. His mother, driven by the need to survive, worked as a prostitute, while the former king (The Fallen Beast) sought solace and validation in the arms of various women. It was their intersection that ultimately brought Vernard into this world.

Attempts were made to make Vernard's mother abandon her unborn child, but her inexplicable connection to the fetus led her to resist this decision. Rather than kill her unborn child and live with the guilt, she decided to take her own life by slitting her veins with a broken glass shard.

Desperate to save both her life and her unborn child by orders of a certain someone, the physicians worked to deliver the baby prematurely. However, the toll on her already fragile body was too great, and she sadly passed away shortly after giving birth, due to complications from the premature delivery and the attempt at suicide.

❥ 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 :

Due to a forbidden interaction, Vernard faced harsh criticism, disapproval, and shame from the royal court. However, his status as a pawn helped shield him from complete rejection, allowing him to be recognized as a prince, if only in the minds of some. He's the only prince who wasn't granted a rank, as the court deemed him unworthy due to his mother's disgraceful past. Even from the outset, giving Vernard the title of prince was a difficult pill for the court to swallow.

Whenever Vernard makes a small error or oversight, he's judged and his actions are linked to his mother's past as a prostitute, causing him to isolate himself and fear making mistakes again, and closeness to one of the princes used to keep him in check, preventing criticism or judgment, but something happened, widening the distance between them.

Because of his mother's shameful past, it was believed that Vernard lacked a proper lineage and was unworthy of one, so his "fake" caretaker intervened and the "Mürrisch" name was given to him, from that day on, the prince stuck to this name even after he reached puberty.

❥ 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 :

The princes were confused by Vernard's varied and strange behaviors. They used the word "eccentric" to describe his mysterious personality, which can be open and active or closed and dull, depending on the situation. He can be obedient at times and rebellious at others, but all of this is connected to the circumstances he's in.

Vernard adamantly refused to affiliate with a faction, but he handled faction business smoothly as if he was a recognized member, because he believed that joining a faction would limit his duties and restrictions would go against his belief that he could maintain multiple ventures.

HLC characters like cat breeds part 1

Hello there! After reading the post of @hogwartslegacyreactions about HLCs as cats I couldn't resist associating them with breeds and traits that fit with them!

Please be patient, this is my first post for Tumblr, and English is not my native language.

The following text contains explanation of certain breeds of cats, none of the animals or pictures belong to me.

Warning: too much cuteness!

Ominis Gaunt: Persian

Very cute and charming, with its unique face and extensive coat, this is a feline that leaves traces of its elegance wherever it goes. Calm and quite intelligent, the Persian cat's behavior carries traits of those who prefer to be safe. They don't usually demand attention all the time, despite being very affectionate.

Sebastian Sallow: British Shorthair

This cat is an excellent and very sociable companion. The breed is known to mature slowly, as its youthful spirit lasts a lifetime. This one is also an eternal conqueror, as the position of his whiskers creates an expression on his ever-smiling face.

Amit Thakkar: Siamese

This cat delights not only for its cute appearance and striking colors, but also for its charismatic and perceptive way. For those who don't know, the Siamese cat is among the smartest cat breeds out there. Extremely communicative, he will try to "talk" to you whenever he can - and for that, he can vocalize a lot, but don't be fooled! Although affectionate and attached to the family, when necessary it can be very independent.

Garreth Weasley: Turkish angora

A very docile and playful cat. They are very loving and cheerful and adore cuddles. Surprise for being very stubborn and smart. They are curious cats, who like to explore where they are and what is possible to do there. Like the extensive Weasley lineage, the Angora is known as one of the oldest breeds in the world. Its long hair requires frequent brushing.

Natsai Onai: Bengal

The pattern of its fur resembles that of a leopard, considered a docile and companion cat, at the same time it is independent and intelligent, it will keep company willingly, never out of dependence or need. Due to their wild instinct, they are not considered especially obedient, but they are excellent hunters, strong and agile athletes.

Poppy Sweeting: Munchkin

Known as the “dwarf cat,” the Munchkin is an adorable little cat with short legs. In addition to their exotic appearance, they are very kind, sweet, playful and like to show their affection. Curious and intelligent, they are quick-witted enough to figure out how to venture out despite their short legs.

Imelda Reyes: Norwegian Forest

The Norwegian Forest Cat has a wild appearance, drawing attention to its beauty and long coat that makes it look like a Lynx. It is a feline of ancient origin and many legends and myths circulate about its history, often being associated with the Vikings. Very sure of themselves, they are extremely intelligent, curious and observant cats. They learn tricks and commands quickly, as well as being an excellent natural athlete.

Anne Sallow: Oriental Havana (initially thought of leaving Anne as a British longhair to match Sebastian as they are twins, but I wanted to give her her own personality)

Also known as the Havana Brown, these cats are alert, intelligent, observant, curious, affectionate and occasionally mischievous. Outgoing, playful and endearingly affectionate, this breed needs human companionship and interaction. Havanas love to nudge their humans with their paw, as if asking for attention.

Everett Clopton: Balinese

Similar in appearance to the Siamese, this is also a very intelligent cat. Its main differences come from its long coat and hyperactive temperament. Companionship has everything to do with their personality: in addition to adapting well to changes, the Balinese cat is perfect for anyone looking for a happy and playful kitten. Being an animal with a lot of energy, the cat of this breed is usually hyperactive and is always running and climbing the furniture.

Leander Prewett: Maine coon

The Maine Coon breed is one of the largest domestic cat breeds, known around the world as the “gentle giant”. They are cats considered sociable and companions, being quite independent, they don't usually like being held so much, but they appreciate being next to their family, showing themselves to be very devoted to their owners. Despite their independence, they like to help their tutors in their activities and learn new things, being considered a very easy cat to train.

Continuing my journey through combining my two obsessions - perfume and The Libertines. In this edition, fragrances directly linked to the band in various ways.

London by Burberry - Notes of Honeysuckle, Jasmine, Musk and Sandalwood. Released in 2006. This is for lovers - of London. The imagery around this chic and clean little affair has always been a romantic postcard to the city that birthed it, and the iconic checked Burberry fabric wrapped around the bottle itself speaks to the rebirth of that heritage trend made edgy and new - most beautifully showcased in the infamous prison gates photos in 2003, where Peter and Carl each wore a matching Burberry trench and passed a Burberry scarf between them. Fake, probably, but that iconography was the absolute height of indie rock fashion.

Bluebell by Penhaligon's - Notes of Lily-of-the-Valley, Cyclamen, Cloves and Cinnamon. Released in 1978. Widely reported as a favourite perfume of Kate Moss during the time she and Peter were dating. I may not be much of a fan of hers, but who didn't want to know what Pete Doherty's girlfriend smelled like? Earthy, with its crushed flowers and herbs, a tad exclusive, with it's fancy lineage and posh price, but genuinely vintage - this was the exact sort of scent an indie girl in the 2000s picked if she wanted to stand out from the crowd.

Opium Pour Homme by Yves Saint Laurent - Notes of Black Currant, Star Anise, Bourbon Vanilla and Cedar. Released in 1995. Named by Peter as his favourite fragrance in the 2000s. I've never known if he was kidding, given the name - but this is a scent that absolutely suits him, and is my favourite for men of all time. Opening with bright, juicy berries, drying down into sweet vanilla and rich spice, it's an addictive potion that suits its moniker and defies the astringent, bathroom cleaner trend in men's fragrance with a high fashion dazzle that takes some courage to wear.

Bottega Veneta by Bottega Veneta - Notes of Bergamot, Jasmine, Leather and Patchouli. Released in 2011. This is a personal entry, as it's the one perfume that has gotten me a compliment from a Libertine. I am an aggressive over-sprayer, but only this one has elicited a comment, from Carl, after he embraced me following the Sharabang gig in 2018. "You smell amazing!" he said, to which I replied, "I think it's the leather", meaning the leather notes in the fragrance. "Leather?" he replied, completely confused. I didn't get a chance to elaborate, but this is indeed a leather bomb - loud like a brand new jacket, or better yet luxurious heels straight out of their box, with the crisp deliciousness of bergamot making it syrupy and lending a mouth-watering air. Tragically discontinued.

Comme des Garcons 2 Man by Comme des Garcons - Notes of Smoke, Betiver, Saffron, Leather and Incense. Released in 2004. One of the fragrances Carl mentioned wearing in the 2000s. A churchy, waxy, smoky scent that brings to mind a snuffed candle and is very evocative of the year it was released. Makes absolute sense that it's one he'd enjoy, leaning both into an esoteric side with it's midnight potions of nutmeg and mint, and a rock 'n' roll core with it's leather and incense - reminiscent of the intoxicating mix of sweat, tobacco and leather you'll find sticking to a musician fresh off a stage.

Ambre Sultan by Serge Lutens - Notes of Resin, Amber, Myrrh, Benzoin, Sandalwood, Vanilla and Myrtle. Released in 1993. Opulent, gothic and very warm, this unisex fragrance is another Carl listed as a favourite back in the day. If 2 Man is churchy, this one is culty. Again, it suits him - it's like festival hippy oil taken to it's most concentrated conclusion. I don't know if he still wears either of these - he smelled great in Melbourne in 2018, but when I asked what he had on, he joked, "Lynx Africa!" then denied he was wearing anything. Likewise, Peter arrived at the Hackney gig in 2019 smelling deliciously of something very like Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille, but when I asked him what he had on, he just said, "I smell like a polecat".

I saw your tags on that big headed cat post and figured I'd pop in! So, 99% of cats do not have a 'breed'. Every trait that is attributed to a breed exists naturally in the wild-type gene pool. A cat is wild-type UNLESS it has a documented lineage, regardless of how it looks. If you have a dog that looks like a Chihuahua, you can be reasonably sure it is some % Chihuahua. If you have a cat that matches every breed trait for a Russian Blue, but no lineage, then you just have a random cat that happens to share traits with that breed. So, that cat is almost certainly just a random cat who happened to have a funny big ass head.

When I ask if it's part "wild" I am not asking if it's partially feral cat- I'm asking if it could possibly have been a cross breed with a literal wild cat (like a Lynx or a Scottish Wildcat) because the head of the cat is not just big- it's like the whole body is proportionally big. The paw didn't have visible claws, but the fur pattern is common with wild animals and the size is particularly uncommon. I was just interested in the reason behind the bigness of him.

oooohohohoho. so. technically, taxonomically speaking "feline" means only the little cat subfamily, so we'll be focusing on them. pls read this in the burger king foot lettuce voice btw

5. jaguarundi. idk why but he's giving otter or weasel, and allegedly they move like a mustelid too. their short legs and long bodies allow them to keep a low profile, and likely evolved convergently from weasels because it was a useful hunting adaptation. they also come in two colors, which i did not know until looking for facts for this post! (recently the first ever albino one was discovered too, so i guess technically three? but being white would be really bad for a wild cat so lets maybe not intentionally go for that morph.)

4. lynx (all variants). two words: BIG PAWS. the canadian lynx is so dependent on the snowshoe hare as a food source that its population directly correlates with the hare population in any given area. when there is a boom in hare births, there is also a boom in lynx births and migrations to the area. when the hares have been hunted down to a smaller population, the lynxes either starve or leave.

3. asiatic golden cat. tell me this is not the prettiest motherfucker you have ever seen in your life. sometimes known as fire cats, it was believed in some parts of southeast asia that carrying even one hair from a golden cat could ward off tigers. they are one of the least studied asian cats, but collar trackers suggest they may be more diurnal than most felines. despite their name, they are not closely related to the african golden cat, which is part of the serval lineage of cats.

2. mountain lion. that is right, this human-sized greek god of an animal is more closely related to domestic cats than to any true big cat! mountain lions have been known to bite the back of the neck and paralyze their prey by piercing the spinal cord! it's a good thing they're normally shy. rest in peace P-22, the griffith park mountain lion. he inspired a new generation of urban conservationists, and i'm glad the indigenous people of the area were granted rights to his body to give him a proper sendoff. he lived a long life for a puma, but his euthanasia due to pesticide-related illness is a stark reminder of how severely wildlife depleted our world is becoming.

1. african black-footed cat. these little serial killers have THE highest k/d ratio of the entire true cat subfamily, stat padding a disrespectful 60% of all the prey they go after. compare that to the mighty tiger's 10% success rate, and you will begin to understand why they make this regular ass cat live in the zoo.

Dear Bruce,

Although I may be considered just a pet I still find it insulting that no one would consider me for any correspondence. Seeing that I’ve got the most interesting subjects to discuss. Despite the fact that the only ones who seem to slightly understand me are my food handler and extremely pale trainer!

The rage I feel every time I’m belittled with a tasks of fetch and retrieve she’s obviously capable of catching the piece of yarn herself I’m sure. Yet she still insists I be the one to do it. I get along better with the male than the female. As do all the others in this creaky similarly dressed in these burlap robes inhabiting this dusty stuffy building.

That green fellow with the horns seems to be able to communicate my demands very well.

My handler smells of curiosity majority of the day then late nights despair and longing. It must be the fae who owned that silver collar he wears on his neck. He’s always toying with it maybe it helps keeps his claws trim like I do with mine along the walls. It still has the smell of the forest lingering on the links. Who better than myself to identify it. Get it? Links.. because I am a Lynx.

I very much wondered if only the owner of that said collar would come around give the boy some attention. Then maybe he wouldn’t wear the charm down from it’s original form.

Food handler opened a portal and brought us to this Blackthorn Hall. It reeks of old magic. Maybe that’s why he’s able to perform the same tasks as that green man. It’s in his lineage.

Everyone here congratulated and praised him. Giving out pats and scratchies on the head. I don’t know why. It’s already second portal he’s successfully opened but he lied and told them “It’s the first of plenty many to come.”

The first time he opened I nearly followed closely behind but the moment he stepped through he froze like Dimmet Tarn in the winters.

He returned shortly after I hardly had enough time to miss him. Must’ve been some tough enemy he fought he stared at the walls for nearly an hour. My trainer had to coax him out of his trance leaving me completely forgotten til the morning.

I ought to return you to the mattress I found you in we’re leaving back to that towering cinder block tomorrow.

So I have an abby mix who was from an accidental litter between an abby mom and some stray that got to her (irresponsible af breeders but sadly extremely common in my area) and her only traits are the ticked fur and the abby face shape. otherwise she's just your normal gray tabby dsh mog with practically no rufousing - less than spaybortion's even.

so wouldn't it be reasonable that their mog *could* potentially have abby mixture a few generations back? i mean if mine can be a first gen and hardly got any of the abby phenotyping at all, seems possible enough.

In theory it is possible, yes!

But it’s also possible the cat is mixed with another ticked breed. It’s also possible that the cat is mixed with a non-ticked breed and got the ticked pattern from the moggy parent.

But possible is different than probable!

It’s estimated that only 1% - 3% of cats are purebred, with even higher estimates only reaching a meager 5%. With unknown ancestry it’s stastically far more likely that he’s a ticked DSH with no breed heritage…

But if there was an Abyssinian (or other breed) parent “a few generations back” it’s something of a moot point because for all intents and purposes he’s still functionally a Domestic Shorthair.

The key difference with this kitty and your kitty is documented lineage. The pedigree is what makes the breed, generally speaking, phenotype is important but with how much admixture is permitted between breeds in most cases it isn’t a sufficient identifier on its own.

I’d love to see your cat, documented moggy/purebred mixes are so interesting because it shows just how quickly many breed traits devolve when introduced to the stray/feral gene pool. There’s a patient at work who’s a bonafide Siamese mix but if I didn’t know his history I’d have thought he was just a lynx point moggy.

Miquella Thoughts

Seems to have been a lot of Elden Ring discussion lately about Miquella as a Griffith reference from Berserk. I have not read Berserk, and rather than make half-formed guesses about that I'd rather tackle the question of Miquella's motives from other perspectives.

I've been reading one of my old favourite fantasy trilogies recently - the Mage Winds by Mercedes Lackey. It occurred to me that this is probably one of the sources of my strong negative feelings towards blood magic. Blood magic appears in at least 3 other storylines in the same setting, in one way or another. But the villain of this trilogy is a blood-path mage named Mornelithe Falconsbane.

Blood sacrifices, violence, enslavement and compulsion are the typical traits of a blood mage - pain and energy from cutting a life short are what fuel this power. And one of the main interests of this particular blood mage is in experimenting with creating twisted creatures to use as weapons - combining animals in unnatural and tormented ways. Also Falconsbane made cosmetic changes to himself to become a sexy cat man. Like a lynx. After testing them on his unwilling and abused daughter. Unanimous agreement among protagonists that he's a beast with no redeeming qualities.

A twist is that this villain is also a body snatcher. He set a spell a few thousand years ago powered by the energy of his own death that would let him survive in the void until a blood descendant is born with a sufficient level of mage power. Remember how I mentioned that 3 other storylines involve blood magic? Turns out the same guy is responsible for 2 of them. The spell is keyed to activate the first time the mage attempts a basic fire-lighting spell, which is typically the first spell learned by an untrained person. Blood magic spell activates and he takes possession of the body and destroys the original personality. But in this particular case he slipped up and the original person that he stole his current body from has been a prisoner in his own mind for decades. So the nature of the conflict shifts towards the climax of the trilogy. There is an absolute evil monster to be destroyed, but there's also an innocent person worth saving underneath all that. And the stakes are raised because killing one guy won't solve the problem - they need to break the immortality spell so that this ancient evil will never return.

Back to Elden Ring. In general it seems that Radagon's lineage is cursed in a way that involves blood magic. There's a connection hinted between Radagon and the Leonine Misbegotten - which are twisted and tormented manufactured chimera. There's a connection between Radagon and the Thorn Sorcerers who wear red cloth around their heads mimicking flowing red hair (or Messmer, but it's all the same lineage so I see little difference). There are also the cessblooded Omens, who should of course be counted as well because Radagon is Marika.

And there's Miquella who practices blood magic in watering the Haligtree and is capable of feats of craftsmanship beyond his years, as if perhaps he is working from the memories and abilities of something far older than his physical form suggests. The Bewitching Branch seems to pretty explicitly reference a compulsion spell (as well as using the sacramental bud as a component - more blood magic), which in my experience is never a thing used by protagonists in any story. Unless maybe your protagonist is a vampire. So, never used by protagonists who are good people and don't see human beings as sheep for slaughter. As a side note, I recently watched the 3 hour-long ContaPoints video on Twilight and I am...connecting some dots about the roles of Mohg and Varre in the story (I have also never read Twilight).

I dislike trying to make guesses about whatever exactly Miquella is up to. He's associated with dreams, which do not necessarily need to follow the same metaphysical logic as the rest of the Lands Between. But still, there are these vibes that I keep in mind until further information arises. From one perspective I suspect that Miquella thought to enter the Shadowlands and conquer this Land, so that he could manipulate the Lands Between from the shadows. This is the Jungian perspective of animus, which has recently become my favourite pseudo-psychology to dismantle.

From another perspective, it is possible that the Shadowlands is something like the void in that story I mentioned. There is an immortal lich who was fled to lurk in the shadows and waits for a chance to be reborn, and Miquella has chased him here to stop that from happening. This thought also dovetails with some planting that I've noticed that combines the King in Yellow with Koschei the Deathless. It starts back in Demon's Souls, I think - where the yellow monk cloth takes the shape of a tornado when it possesses a victim (The Koschei travels with tornados).

What's also up to interpretation is how literally or symbolically this is all being handled. Like, Mohg emerging from Miquella's blood is a very literal way to depict cursed blood full of demons. And it seems confirmed as of the DLC trailer that Miquella has deliberately left behind his empyrean flesh (same as Ranni, who also has sleep powers and travels in dreams. Coincidentally.).

It was to this land that Miquella departed. Divesting himself of his flesh, his strength, his lineage. Of all things Golden.

As tempting as it is to speculate further on what exactly Miquella has planned for the DLC, all I'd say now is that I am dubious about his former intentions in the "waking world" of the Lands Between - not just of whether they were good intentions, but of whether they were ever realistic to achieve. But regardless of the past, there remains a possibility that the decision to abandon his metamorphosis plan coincided with a change of heart that resulted from the new perspective offered by the Shadowlands.

Mystic is the smallest of the males in his family, standing slightly below average height, and has noticeably narrow traits from his shoulders to his lower torso. His eyes’ shape changes depending on his mood, but they are naturally round and brilliant. His irises are mismatched: the right is a vivid red and the left a bright golden. He has messy obsidian hair; the kind that cannot be combed down by any means possible, but doesn’t give him a crazed appearance. In fact, it gives volume to his face.

If you ever catch a glimpse of Mystic in public, it is very likely you’ll see him in his bounty hunter uniform. Composed of a black, thin, turtleneck undershirt and crop top-stylized jacket that carries multiple inner and outer pockets. The bottom half of his uniform consists of dark cargo trousers, also equipped with multiple pockets and casings, and works on either flat sneakers or military-like boots.

In spite of that, he is very sharp- and quick-witted guy. He is quite the genius when he wants, crafting plans and traps for his targets on an almost daily basis. He likes deceiving them or his prey, chasing them or having them chase him around. The thrill of chasing and being chased is something he tends to enjoy.

Mystic fears his uncle beyond a normal scope. Carla has never done anything overly terrible to him, but the mere presence his aura brings into the room horrifies the poor demon like no other creature has ever been capable of doing so. Even so, he does look up at his uncle with exceeding respect and as a type of being he will never be able to match.

Jomei Family

❖ Marko Jomei

Mystic didn’t have a good relationship with his grandfather. Marko profusely refused to accept him as part of the family for being the offspring of someone from the First Bloods. He was abusive towards the child and fractured his already broken relationship with DJ.

❖ Caleb Jomei

(Acquired the surname of Jomei after being betrothed to DJ.) Caleb raised Mystic as though he was his real son even when he was simple the prince consort (queen’s husband) and had no romantic attachments to his mother. He loved taking the role of father very much. They don’t have much in common—with Mystic being an outgoing troublemaker and Taro a meek, reserved man—but they get along perfectly well.

Sakamaki Family (Will only be adding characters Mystic has a story with, because there are just too many to write—)

❖ Kino

Speaking in terms of the primary universe, Kino and Mystic are in a committed relationship (and later married). They met by mere chance, where things escalated from there. Mystic came to enjoy the company of the Vampire, and viceversa from Kino’s perspective. The rivalry-friendship grew out of proportion as they slowly grew closer through a great chunk of their close encounters.

❖ KarlHeinz

Mystic met the ominous Vampire King once in his childhood. He was very young at the time and can’t recall the reason to why or how he ended up standing in front of him. The memory of the man’s aura and complexion remains incredibly vivid in his mind.

Mukami Family

❖ Ruki Mukami

Mystic has had a not-so-subtle crush on Ruki ever since they met. This can be observed in his sudden change of demeanor (becomes meek and easily embarrassed) every time he crosses path with the Vampire.

In the universe shared with @ruki--mukami, Mystic had quite a bloody encounter with Ruki after he accidentally wandered into the Mukami Residence and made a mess in a brawl with a hell-born creature he’d been chasing. It isn’t exactly a secret that Mystic is quite intimidated by the Vampire. Even so, he often acts indifferent and unbothered by Ruki’s presence. As of now, their relationship evolved from that of master-and-prey that happen to share similar hobbies and likes, into more of mutual romantic feelings, as much as Mystic tries to deny it.

❖ Yuma Mukami

They are an absolute wreck. Both are hotheads and often start bantering and brawling. There is never a time that they see each and don’t immediately go at each other’s throats. Aside form that, they get along pretty well. They have more of rivalry-friendship.

❖ Kou Mukami

Mystic likes Kou’s outgoing personality, but feels uncomfortable around him. There is something that just doesn’t feel right, as though the person he is looking at the real person, but a mask.

❖ Azusa Mukami

Azusa once figured out Mystic reacted to wounds. He explained in a panic about his sensitiveness and begged Azusa not to tell anyone about it. He agreed to it, but continuously asked Mystic to talk about it more. Mystic prefers not to, though he will from time to time.

❖ The Owl Twins

↳ Eirwen, Valentina

Arranged in order of age. Aside from being the trusted advisers of the royal family, the twins were assigned as Mystic’s caretakers soon after his birth after DJ was forced away from her son to take care of her responsibilities in the kingdom. They were basically the people that made sure Mystic wouldn’t end up getting himself into trouble or hurting himself, which was quite the difficult task.

❖ Yui Komori

As a fanged creature in the Diabolik Lovers universe, it is fair to say that falling—even ever so slightly—for Yui was going to happen sooner or later. Mystic finds her incredibly adorable and sometimes even envies her innocence. He openly flirts with her, but thinks of her more as someone to find amusement with. Since was brought up by a half-mortal mother instructed in a Catholic roof in her childhood, a few human values have also been passed over to him.

❖ Aimer Kurosawa (@kurosawa-family)

Loving husband for who he would drop whatever he wanted in a heartbeat. Their meeting wasn’t exactly the most romantic of encounters, nor was their primary arrangement as “friend with benefits”, but both unavoidably caught feeling for each other. Due to traumas of their pasts, this segment of their development could only be said to have been incredibly difficult. But they’re very much happy now!

𝐇𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘

Childhood

Mystic was born in the Underground Kingdom when DJ was dragged out of the Banmaden by her father, right after the First Bloods lost the war and were incarcerated. He grew up aware of the fact Caleb wasn’t his biological father, but had to act as though that were the case to avoid a scandal of the heir to the throne being a half-blood. Mystic’s grandfather would often demean and physically abuse him, spiteful of the fact he was the son of a First Blood and because his daughter refused to have a child with the man he had picked out for her—hopeful to erase any trace of human blood he had brought into the family lineage. DJ would intervene in Marko’s abuse anytime she caught it or realized Mystic was bruised up from unknown circumstances. She was fiercely protective of Mystic, as he was the son of the man she loved and presumed dead at the time.

After Marko’s death, Mystic was finally allowed to go on freely within the castle and out in the kingdom’s territory, though always under the watchful gaze of his caretakers. It was around this time that he began breaking out of his sheltered and meek boy shell and finally began turning into the outgoing and grinning character of his present. He was very loved by the villagers and made them feel safe to be so close to the royal family. He certainly changed the dynamic between the peasants and the royals after the death of the former king.

Early Life

After a heartbreak, Mystic coincidentally left the kingdom for a couple of years with his mother and stepfather to visit his mother’s hometown in London. He began experiencing with substances and other harmful objects, as well as toying around with humans as a form to derive his mind from his grief. Soon enough, he became notorious for this habits—specifically since that certain lifestyle was specially frowned upon at the time—until he and his parents left town. But he started enjoying that way of life and never broke away from those habits.

Mystic started traveling out of the Underground Kingdom almost daily once her mother allowed him. He was a scandalous man, open about his likes and habits for which he caught a lot of heat by multiple groups of people in the Human Realm. Still, he also formed a lot of alliances, friends that—even in their old age in the current day—continue to be happy to see him visit every once in a while.

𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐀

◈ When Mystic speaks in English, he has a noticeable British accent.

◈ Mystic’s vocabulary is considerably wide and embellished from his upbringing as a prince, but soon blended with his vulgar idiosyncrasy. All of which led to an odd mixture of vulgar and elaborate speech mannerisms.

◈ Mystic is ambidextrous.

◈ His hands are 7-inches long and 3.5-inches wide.

◈ His waist has a diameter of around 8-inches (or 21 centimeters).

◈ Mystic’s blood tends to be naturally sweet, but may become bitter in somber instances and sweeter when exalted/as his heart raises (for whatever reason: excitement, fear, etc.) Its effects immediately invoke energizing effects and is potentially capable of carrying recuperating abilities. It’s as strong-tasting as it is aromatic.

◈ Mystic knows how to sing and play the piano.

◈ His favorite hobby is drawing portraits in charcoal.

◈ He can speak multiple languages. Most notably: Spanish, French, and Italian.

◈ Mystic knows how to handle firearms.

◈ He knows how to drive a car and a motorcycle.

◈ He owns a 2000 Indian Chief and a 1926 Bentley.

◈ His favorite food is Bouillabaisse: A traditional French stew of shellfish and fish, sometimes served with spicy sauce.

◈ He loves junk food. (Potato chips, sweets, etc.)

◈ His tattoo is very much alive, therefore it is capable of shifting places throughout his body. It commonly sticks to his right arm, however.
