As promised, I'm hosting my first open art collab with Scarlett! And I'm finally implementing the Satoi style ❤ Make sure to read everything below, because there are three different prompts you can choose from!

SCENARIO

«At the school's rooftop, Scarlett seems to be about to eat a cutely decorated cupcake by herself. When she sees you, however, she calls you over.»

——But why are you meeting up?

🧁 Option 1: You met her by chance, perhaps you've seen her around the school once or twice, although she's not in her uniform today. Since she seems to be in a good mood, you sit down with her. Holding a spoon to your mouth, she asks, "Would you share a treat with me? Open up~" No deadline.

🧁 Option 2: Scarlett invited you herself earlier that day, hoping to spend some time with you outside of class. After greeting you, she holds up a spoonful of whipped cream to you, "You like sweets, right? Say aah~" No deadline.

🧁 Option 3 (Birthday Exclusive!): She's been secretive, so you followed her to the rooftop. You witnessed her blowing a candle out on a cute cupcake, but then she spotted you. Even though she didn't mention it, it's clearly her birthday! She smiles, now wants to share her treat with you, "Fufu, I'm happy to have your company. Here, say aah~" Deadline: May 13th. Optional bonus: Add a gift on the table? 👀

Heterochromia is a side-effect of the artificially created magic bestowed to the Jomei lineage, which gives any offspring born after Marko (Mystic’s maternal grandfather) these iconic mismatched eyes. The Ruby Eye—as said condition was named—is a manifestation of the aforementioned magic, appearing as a bright vermillion pigment on the right eye of the family member. (Note: This mutation is unique to the Jomei Family—a.k.a. The royal family—and not amongst the remainder of the Owl Clan.) The left eye, however, will be colored as the dominant gene between both parents.

In Mystic’s example, golden eyes are strong indicators of members of the Tsukinami Family, as it runs as far back into Krone—as far as I’m concerned—for which Mystic’s left eye has adopted this very detail. DJ, on the other hand, was born to a human woman and an elite of the Owl Clan. The human genetics in this case, were enough to overpower the pigment of her father’s originally green eyes with blue—the original color of DJ's left eye.

However, as long as the child inherits the Ruby Eye, their right eye will always be red, no matter the circumstances of birth (be it natural or via creation with a third party—e.g. witchcraft, artificially). Which is why if you’ve seen posts of children I’ve created with other OCs and characters, they all share the same heterochromia factor as Mystic.

A member of the Jomei family can absorb another’s magic, also. This can only be achieved by one ending the other’s life with their own hands. If the member has died of natural causes or by another accident, the magic vanishes with them. The former being the case between Marko and DJ. In an instance to defend young Mystic from his grandfather’s abuse, she engaged him in a brawl which she ultimately won. Though the transfer is a process easily done after the death of the opposition, it is a searing experience. As seen in the current reference I offered for DJ, the survivor of the brawl will intake the other’s magic and have their left eye tarnish a red color as well.

(This situation can also be observed in the Villain!AU I created for Mystic a while ago, in which he accidentally caused the death of his mother in a rampage and absorbed her magic—so he has two red eyes in this alternative universe.)

This doesn’t have anything to do with the canon lore, but I wanted to make note of an accidental symbolism in Mystic’s design. His left eye—as explained—would, of course, turn out to be similar to that of his father’s (gold), which serves as a representation of Shin’s missing eye. Considering that the golden eye is virtually the only thing that physically connects Mystic to Shin.

Just My Type

A nearby group rattled their horns with laughter as Mystic stumbled out from the rowdy crowd, barely catching himself against the wall before his legs gave out beneath him. He properly propped against it, leaning back as he waited for the world to stop spinning. He shifted slightly, casting an icy glare at the demons through messy inky locks. They continued to find humor in the situation, but had the decency to turn away and act oblivious.

Mystic closed his eyes and took a deep breath, hoping some fresh air would be enough to breeze out all substances from his system. It was all futile, of course. He defeatedly straightened back up and marched out into the sidewalk. Passersby rushed by his sides through the nightlife, all beginning to search for a place to get screwed up. Mystic on the other hand, was just ready to call it quits.

It had started as such a peaceful night. How could a simple letter have ruined it entirely? Perhaps it was the natural reaction of his body from reading that goddamn name, or even the thought of how absolutely vile he had been while knowing Mystic would be forced to pick up the letter and read it.

Something warm slipped down the side of his face and deep in his throat brewed an itch he desperately wish he could reach for and scratch.

He staggered out into the alleyway, running a pair of sluggish hands over his garments in search for the keys of his car.

Was it a good idea? Probably not. But it wasn’t like he had someone on speed dial to come rescue him from his misery. Nor was he quite fond of the idea of having someone see him in his worst state possible.

“Mystic?”

As it would appear, god found his misery entertaining.

The Founder looked over his shoulder—much annoyed than surprised—to meet the outrageously gorgeous figure of a known friend.

Dear lord, those words had not just been formed in his head. Both alcohol and drugs were truly drying out whatever brain cells remained after the mayhem he had just left.

“Just my luck,” Mystic huffed, bringing a hand up to harshly swipe away the trickling tears. He grew increasingly irate as his vision blurred repeatedly. No matter how many time he wiped his eyes into his sleeve, they would always return.

“You don’t seem too pleased,” Ruki commented.

“Thanks fo’ noticin’, Sherlock,” Mystic hissed back, refusing to face the other. “‘The fuck ‘re ya doin’ here?”

“Looking for Kou. He called me and the others to come get him, but never received a specific location.” Ruki explained. “Who would have thought we would run into each other at such place.”

Mystic found his keys in a pocket on the inside of his jacket at last and sighed. “Well, good luck with that. There’s a sea ‘f idiots outside tonight.”

Just as he tried to walk away, a hand swiftly picked the keys out from his grasp. He jerked around in an attempt to snatch them back, but Ruki lifted them away form his reach. “You weren’t thinking of driving yourself home in that state, were you?”

“What’s it matter to ya?” Mystic snapped. “Give me my keys!” He pounced forth once more, but was unsuccessful a second time.

Ruki staggered back from Mystic’s aggressive attempts. “I’m not letting you be behind the wheel when you cannot even speak coherently.”

“And just why the fuck do you care?!” Mystic wailed, tears dripping down a long his face once more. He suddenly weakened under his own shame and rushing thoughts. The drunken Founder quit his tantrum and collapsed against the Vampire, holding onto his shoulders and plopping his forehead against his chest. “Just leave me alone…”

Ruki watched the pitiful display in silence, finally thinking it safe to lower the hand with the keys in them. “Are you done?”

No response.

Mystic felt his feet be swept off the ground first, before it settled in his entire body had been picked up. He hadn’t noticed just how heavy his limbs felt up until that instant. He didn’t fight the gesture, as he was too far gone to even care. “Thought you’d come to find your brother.”

“I’m sure Yuma and Azusa can handle Kou on their own,” Ruki responded, scanning the cars lined up along the side of the road in search of Mystic’s. “Do you still drive the same vehicle?”

“Same old Bentley,” Mystic mumbled in response, drying off his cheeks into his sleeve. “Don’t say ya thinkin’ ‘bout drivin’ me yourself?”

“I still recall some of the lessons from that time you offered to teach us.”

As Mystic had said, an older model Bentley awaited for its owner’s return; faint scratches and subtle dents adorned its obsidian paint and silver bumpers.

Ruki carefully settled Mystic on his feet, wrapping an arm around the other’s waist to hold him upright. He tugged at the door’s handle and propped it open, aiding the drunken one into the front-passenger’s seat. He assured the door was properly closed, then walked around the front the other side.

Ruki felt slightly out of place sitting behind the steering wheel. He fumbled around with the pedals, stick, and wheel as the memories of Mystic’s lessons returned to him.

“Ruki,” Mystic suddenly spoke; eyes gone into a void as he gawked forth. His voice seemed incredibly loud inside the enclosed space of the car’s inside.

The Vampire paused and turned to look at him.

“Was really thinkin’ of gettin’ fucked silly tonight,” he chuckled drunkenly. “Was just on my way to meet up with someone. Caught me before I did somethin’ very dumb.”

Ruki agreed in his mind, but said nothing.

“I assume you ain’t willin’ to drive over to their place.”

Ruki unwittingly gripped the steering wheel. “Absolutely not.”

Mystic chortled. “So, now what?” He rested back against the seat and rolled his head to meet Ruki’s gaze. “Ya ain’t got a clue where I live.”

“It could always be as simple as you telling me,” Ruki replied, knowing well just where the drunken man was trying to stray the conversation.

“Don’t wanna go home, though…”

“Mystic, we are not discussing this right now.”

The Founder exhaled through his nose, clearly dazed. “Just for tonight?” He reached out to grip the elbow of Ruki’s blazer.

Ruki glanced down at the fingers clinging onto the fabric of his garment, then up at Mystic once more. His grip on the steering wheel tightened further. “Mystic, we cannot keep—”

“Ruki,” he pleaded, moving his hand up to wrap it around his arm.

The Vampire couldn’t help it as his eyes moved over the Founder’s figure. He inhaled once more, shocked at how quickly the enclosed space had filled up with his scent. He turned away, flexing his fingers over the steering wheel. He turned the key on the engine, but didn’t move from the spot for a while.

Mystic leaned out to peek at his expression. “Ruki?”

Ruki gave him a quick glance and shook his head. Whatever spell the Founder’s words could cast, he had been entirely enthralled. He moved the stick shift and turned the steering wheel, driving off into the street.

“You are…” Ruki muttered, “the absolute worst.”

The warm blood trickling over my cheek made for incredible distraction from Scarlett’s voice. It was a faded sound, echoing far from my grasp in reality. I couldn’t figure what she said, but she seemed joyous.

Even if I could hear her, I wasn’t capable of composing any words. My thoughts were scattered. Everything I could muster was to flex the muscles on my throat, swallowing the blood still pooling under my tongue.

My body was drained of any energy. The origin of the blood didn’t very much bother me, as long as my stomach was filled.

Scarlett provided it. Even when I couldn��t stand for myself, nor even speak.

I wonder if there will come a day she becomes tired.

The touch of his hand made my skin crawl. A reflex of caution.

Images flashed before my eyes, accompanied by the vivid memory of ache and distress, as well as unimaginable pleasure. It didn’t matter what my head screamed, the subtle brush of his fingertips over my clothes brought up desires I wish I could claw straight out of my eyes.

The bruises adorning my knuckles, proof of my desperate attempts to seek freedom, pumped back to life with the adrenaline in my veins. I could barely find my breath beneath the fabric tightened around my head. The very same one that held my arms together.

Helpless, I could simply track his movements with my sight. Too afraid to derail from his commands.

MAIN CHARACTERS

Ayato Sakamaki — Mystic very honestly finds Ayato as someone cool, feeding into his ego, for which he has earned the Vampire’s liking. Their chaotic personalities compliment each other. They are often seen wrecking havoc at any space they happen to be sharing.

Laito Sakamaki — While Mystic isn't as close with Laito as he is with Ayato, they will still have fluid conversations.

Kanato Sakamaki — Mystic enjoys taunting Kanato, like he's a chihuahua to rile up. Let's just say Kanato is not very fond of this.

Subaru Sakamaki — Mystic is aware of the youngest of the siblings and has been close enough to see his outbursts, but hasn't had a decent interaction with him.

Reiji Sakamaki — Reiji doesn't have a personal problem with Mystic, per se. In fact, he has spent enough time with him to know Mystic is a good student and man in general. It's when he is with the triplets that he becomes an utter nuisance and creates double the trouble on his own that the triplets ever could.

Shu Sakamaki — Once more, another brother Mystic doesn't interact with. He sees him passing by and has had to swerve out of the way to avoid tripping over him when he is sleeping on the corridors more than once, but never really had a complete conversation with the oldest brother.

Kino — Within the timeline of LOST EDEN, Kino becomes acquainted with Mystic and his family after a short feud over Yui, who had been living with the Founders as a favor from the Sakamaki. Once the First Bloods welcomed Kino and the Ghouls into the Banmaden, the tension between them started dissipating, eventually managing to build a friendship. It was only a matter of time of spending quality time together (and Kino nearly losing Mystic) for strong feelings to come bursting forth.

Shin Tsukinami — Mystic and his father are acquaintances at best. Since Mystic didn't grow up by Shin's side, they don't have a father-son relationship at all. As a matter of fact, they often feel threatened by the other, always trying to best each other. There are still some hard feelings from the events of DARK FATE.

Carla Tsukinami — Mystic is, quite frankly, terrified of his uncle. He has seen what Carla is capable of and how little he cared with how he may affect them with said actions. However, Mystic has also witnessed the First Blood king to be very protective of his family and—though rather harshly—try to keep them in line. Mystic continues to harbor hard feelings from the events of DARK FATE.

Azusa Mukami — Though Azusa and Mystic aren't particularly close, they do tend to find some form of comfort with each other.

Yuma Mukami — Even though they're always at each other's throats, Yuma and Mystic are pretty close. They actually enjoy the other's company, even though their personalities clash, their energy matches really well.

Kou Mukami — They're not really close, but they do get along. Their liking of music is pretty much everything they have in common. Mystic is a Kou closeted-fan, don't let him fool you.

Ruki Mukami — Mystic and Ruki are only involved previous and within the timeline of DARK FATE, their entanglement beginning upon the pair's first meeting, when Ruki aided the wounded Founder in exchange for his blood. Their unstable relationship is complicated with the ongoing Adam's Apple plan and the trouble from the sudden reappearance of Mystic's family. Without the need to mention, no two serpents should ever be within the confines of one single enclosure.

SIDE CHARACTERS

KarlHeinz — Mystic never encountered the Vampire King face-to-face more than twice since his infancy. However, Mystic's closeness to his sons, as well as the Mukami brothers, leave a wide view for KarlHeinz to pay him further attention. KarlHeinz has shown underlying interest for Mystic due to the complex cross of species that runs in his blood. It also intrigues him how easily Mystic is capable of influencing everyone he comes in contact with. (Especially someone as street-smart as Ruki). In other words, he finds Mystic's ability to "tempt" someone remarkable.

Richter — Their interactions—though few—have been tense and even less pleasant. Fortunately, they don't have to interact much, despite Mystic's frequent visits to the Sakamaki mansion.

Christa — Mystic and Christa never met, therefore neither has an opinion of the other. The Founder is only aware of her due to the few comments Subaru has let slip on occasion.

Cordelia — Mystic met Burai's daughter alive only once in his life. At the time, it was only Mystic that was aware of his familial connection to her at the time. His mother was well aware of who Menae was, but begged him to keep quiet, as they only knew partial facts that led them to the current circumstances. Suffice to say, he disliked the pampered princess from the very beginning. Despite being approximately the same age, Mystic couldn't find anything with which to relate to Cordelia. Cordelia, on the other hand, found him to be entertaining, like a pup of strange habits. The next time he heard her name was from the mouth of her sons, the triplets. Not one of their comments placed her anymore in his grace.

Beatrix — Mystic never really interacted with Beatrix. In fact, he knows even less about her than he does Christa, as neither Shu nor Reiji would even ever mention her.

Yuuri — Within the timeline of LOST EDEN, Yuuri becomes one of Mystic's closest confidant, often acting as a mediator between him and Kino. Mystic wholeheartedly trusts in Yuuri. In addition, both princes are especially keen on the terribly-hidden interest from the Ghoul towards Mystic's cousin, Kazuha.

Socrates — At most, Socrates is aware of Mystic existence from passing comments on KarlHeinz's part. Because of this, Socrates places Mystic in the midst of the havoc within the timeline of CHAOS LINEAGE.

Reinhart — It isn't rare for Mystic to pop at the infirmary during the odd instances Reinhart is there. The Founder has always found the doctor as weird, feeling that something is terrible off, therefore leaving as soon as he is able to. Reinhart has commented on how amusing he finds Mystic, as though he were an interesting comedic relief in the script of a play.
