Tried upscaling my colored version of this Lunar doujinshi illustration scanned by @indigozeal , but the result was pretty pixel-y... so I ran some “VHS” auto-action effects over it and I think this is my favorite version so far.

¡Muy bien! ¡Por fin lo tengo! Perdón por la tardanza, pero la verdad si me tarde mucho en limpiar este doujinshi. La artista pone muchos estampados, y redibujar eso es la muerte jaja. Al final algunas palabras de golpes que ven en inglés las deje así porque pensé que era mejor, ya que se entendían bien y porque me hubiera tardado más si también las limpiaba.

Este doujinshi me gusta bastante, creo que Greenlock es super haciendo historias, y esta estuvo muy genial... Además ¿A quién no le gusta ver a Superman vestido de Batman? ¿O a Batman en kimono jugando al playboy? Tengo la debilidad de ver a Batman actuar como mamarracho... aunque honestamente por un lado lo odio, pero por otro lado me da risa.

También les informo que ya tengo otro traducción lista. Esta vez es otro de Jiro, pero ahora si superbat. Espero tardarme un poco menos con este doujinshi, pero pues es mi culpa por querer limpiarlo todo. XD

P.D. Por cierto, la traducción del poema no es mía, la saque de una página. Es que quería que estuviera bien, y pues luego traducir poemas se me hace más complicado, porque debes adaptarlos de forma que siga pareciendo un poema.

Mainly got it for that Awataguchi tapestry that I’ve been looking everywhere for! And for those IchiMika doujinshi. There was a third one but though it was available when my proxy put it in her cart, it was marked sold out when she pressed checkout… This happened in just a few minutes…. This is the 3rd time something like that has happened… I’m guessing someone bought it at one of their physical stores and the system only checked for its availability when my proxy pressed checkout??

Anyway, as for those Tourabu straps, I got them for Mikazaki actually! It’ll be perfect as the phone of my Ichigo BJD (that I still need to pick a faceup artist for…) I saw it at a local store but the price they were asking for it was rather high… And now I have the whole set for a third of the price! Not sure what I’ll do with the others, probably keep Tsuru and the ones with Awataguchi boys. Maybe do a giveaway for the others?? I’ve always wanted to try doing a giveaway but too lazy to figure out how to go about it… orz

Neptunium Sailor Moon Doujinshi

This circle produced a handful of really beautiful harumichi books. There’s at least one I’m currently missing. Lunar Eclipse is a text novel. (And poor Michiru looks rather uncomfortable with Haruka’s arm positioned like that, but never mind).

Would really like to find the book I’m missing.

I don't get the point of Rajio Tekunosuke's Aoki Hoshi yori Yatte Kita (It Came from the Blue Star), though it seems to be something along the lines of: "what if Lucia dressed in white, had a partially-sheer outfit & huge honkin' breasts, and was totally DtF?"  Only there is no Fing.  Hiro goes to pick up the Genesis carts Lucia forgot in the Blue Spire, only to have another goddess descend from the Blue Star on him.  Disappointed that Zophar's already been beaten but intrigued by banging a clueless but momentarily-distracted-by-her-assets Hiro, she agrees to his offer of temporary housing till she comes to grips with her redundancy on the Zophar-alarm front.  And...the doujin ends, at all of 12 pages (10 if you leave out the credits).  It's not only Plot What Plot but Porn What Porn.  It's the slightest slip of a beginning of a story, except, as the author notes, one "likely not continued."  Inexplicable, but as Magical School Lunar once noted, the world is deeply mysterious.

Rajio Tekunosuke has an ample portfolio of full-length, less-puzzling Lucia doujinshi, so you're better off tracking down one of the artist's other titles  -  or their extant website.  A lot of links are busted, but poke around, and you can find a list of their doujin, with sample 4-koma comics, and doodles.

Kia Asamiya Illustrates Album Cover for Imaginary 90's Anime

In a new album cover for Wind of Femme Fatale ZANAM (known in Japan as Raijin Hakkei -ZANAM- Femme Fatale Unmei no Hito), manga artist / illustrator Kia Asamiya revisits the science fiction world of a classic 1990's mecha anime TV series that doesn't actually exist.

    The new album is entitled Wind of Femme Fatale ZANAM - Concept CD Z. It is the 2nd concept album released for the ZANAM project, which includes music and audio drama recordings (featuring voice actors Maya Okamoto and Nozumu Sasaki) for a fictional TV anime that would have been released in the Nineties.

    Set against the backdrop of an interplanetary war between the Earth and the Lunar Colonies, the story of Wind of Femme Fatale ZANAM involves a diplomatic mission for the Battleship Io, an Earth-based spaceship which discovers an advanced civilization when it arrives on Mars. There the crew of the Io encounter ZANAM, a mysterious being known as an "Original" which bears a message of peace from the "Wind God". But when "Thunder" and "Wind" meet, the wheels of fate begin to move...

    Wind of Femme Fatale ZANAM - Concept CD Z will be released on October 29, 2017, at the M3 music & sound doujinshi event, which will be held at the Tokyo Ryutsu Center in Tokyo. The album features one song and six short audio dramas, and it retails for 2000 yen ($17.84 US).

Hoshi to Sabaku no Ouji-Sama (The Prince of Stars and Sand) is listed as a Lunar doujinshi on Suruga-ya, but it's mostly dedicated to production work for Funato's weird manga Hoshi no Sabaku/Desert of Stars.  (There're a few fanart sketches in back, but I recognize very few of the properties.)  Of greater interest to the folks reading this is an essay written before the publication of "Kokuhaku Suru Kioku" but after that of "Tamashii no Kokuhaku" and of Funato's original manga Desert of Stars, in which she talks about the issues her association with the Lunar license has caused in her career at that point  -  she perceives herself as seen exclusively by the public as a "Lunar artist"; she is refused work from employers unless she draws in the "Lunar style" instead of her own personal style; she notes that some reactions from readers to "Tamashii no Kokuhaku" consisted of lack of interest because it wasn't written by Kei Shigema (heathens).  Funato's departure from the Lunar series always seemed less than amicable (Kaori Naruse was a pretty obvious swap-in for the sparse illustrations for the fourth Lunar novel, even considering that book's extreme delays, and Shigema is kind of...barely tolerant in his remarks in Vheen Hikuusen's foreword), and this essay sheds considerable light on the possible reasons for that.

(If you're wondering about the kid in the upper left corner of the first inside pic and his resemblance to a certain elf, I wrote very briefly about this character once upon a time.  Funato does tend to use certain stock character types a lot; the dancer in the second pic reminds me of Latona.)

Speaking of whom: you may wonder why I bought a 1996 Shounen Ace.  The answer is, unsurprisingly, Vheen Hikuusen: there's the second half of the original printing of "Tamashii no Kokuhaku" in here. It has different panel layouts in spots than the tankoubon edition, and some panels that were eventually significantly redrawn, as exemplified by Ghaleon below:

The tankoubon is better, of course, but I like the little-kid pouty frown Ghaleon's pulling in the original publication.  I'd like to do more with this book in the future.
