Had a dream about mine and @azurestardust's Tales of Luminaria OCs being the main characters in an in-game event. So, of course, I had to absolutely destroy myself drawing this lmfao.
I tried to replicate the in-game art style as best I could to match the event posters we got.
I miss this game a lot. :(

Redesign of my Oc Nephy the Nefarious drawn by @/ZeoSilver. shes a demonness goat and Iris’s childhood friend turned arch nemesis. Her real name is actually Orchid, Nephy is just a name she likes to refer to herself as. a lovely little goat lady from the evil kingdom of Demycron, Nephy desires to cause chaos and destruction to Luminaria and Earth, though she's usually foiled by Iris. The eyepatch is just for show, but don't tell her that.

⭐️ Current Status of Magnifico x OC Commission ⭐️
🌟 Artemis and Magnifico are almost done, thanks to Nivaa from Fiverr! I can share a little more lore on them too. 🌟
Artemis moves to Rosas from the City of Memories, Luminaria. After seeing a Memory Wraith murder his parents and little sister, he moves from Luminaria not only to start over and heal, but to have his little sister’s wish granted someday.
She wanted to run the world’s greatest flower shop, and while Artemis doesn’t consider himself a flower person, he wants to run the shop in honor of her memory.
He meets Magnifico shortly after arriving in Rosas by catching the king before he trips (because why pass up a reason for a meet-cute). Artemis then applies to become Magnifico’s apprentice after Asha, telling him his wish is to run ‘the world’s bestest flower store’ in honor of his little sister. 🌟

All About Tales of the Rays Liveletter - Part 1: New Mechanics & QA
A new mode will finally be implemented in a major update in April! (It's Recollections)
(Disclaimer: please take my translation with a grain of salt. My ears are trying their best)
Part 2 - Recollections Story Info | Part 3 - Recollections Gameplay Details
Introduction of a new Mystic Arte type! Origin MAs!
Starting with, you guessed it! Kodama and the Recollections OCs!
Implementation Event! Origin Mystic Artes begin releasing for the implemented titles!
This will be a normal event release separate from the Recollections mode!
For this event, Cress, Chester, Kyle, and Reala will be the first of the mainline Tales to get Origin MAs (henceforth, zMA when shortened because oMA is already taken and the accompanying arte released with the gacha is a Zero Arte (Rarity Zero) )
What are zMAs? Excellent question! Let's see what info we've gotten on them! (Continued under the cut)
Illustrations - Flashy battle moments with a focus on effects!!
MA Animation - An arte boosted by the battle scene!
Buff Effect - A bonus granted during battle
Until now big MAs have been tied to story, but these zMAs have an emphasis on being a "character being cool in battle" illustration to go along with the Rays main story being over. So these focus, rather than being tied down to any particular battle scene from their game, more on whatever battle moment looks cool, and there will be a fancy effect that is the focus in the art.
As for the MA itself, it will focus on a nostalgic arte they had in the original game that already looks cool and boost it into an MA class attack.
These zMAs will have extra bonuses when used in the Recollections mode! During normal Rays gameplay they will be the usual MA, but in Recollections they will have increased power.
Introduction of a new arte type: Rarity Zero
Rather than a burst effect, this is a "zero" effect - After meeting the conditions, a powerful move, "Zero Shift" will be activated!!
Attachment - Includes a weapon from the original title! (featured here is Phantasia's Eternal Sword)
Buff Effect - If it is set as the first move on the auto chain, the effect will be increased
Auto chain is setup to give benefits for setting lower rarities first and following up with higher rarities. And putting a Zero arte first gives even more powerful benefits.
Recollections Release
Relive moments from the stories of previous titles! The above will be the first available set in Recollections.
Sets will have 5 titles each, released in order. Updates will be monthly. (unclear to me how these updates will work exactly and how much is released per update) Clearing these titles will unlock portions of the all original Recollections Main Story.
Display of the location of the Recollections menu button in the menu bar. The room button has been moved to the home page. Recollections is treated as an altogether separate mode with it's own menu.
Q & A Section
Q: Will characters from dual series be playable in the Recollections stages of the series they're dual featured in?
A: No. They will only show up in their original title. I.e. Lloyd will be in the Symphonia set and will not be playable in Dawn of the New world's set.
Q1: Will Side/mobile characters be playable in Recollections?
A1: No. The plan is to release all of the listed groups first and then work on Link, Asteria, Crestoria, Narikiri, etc. afterwards (unclear how this "new content" for mobile games would be applied. We'll have to wait until down the line to hear about it again. However this is promising news, and from the previous anni stream info, this does not exclude Luminaria)
Q2: What about form change?
A2: You can not set a party member as a form change. However there will be a form change setting so you can still use it in battle.
Q: Will we continue to see more of Ix and co's story? There is so much I want to know about what Ix and friends are up to, Dana, Balor, and Lugh. Of course I'm excited about the new characters, but I'm also excited to see more of the Rays cast.
A: Producer pauses in the middle of answering "I stopped for a moment because I was thinking 'Miyajima-sensei is going to be mad at me for saying too much again'" (lol) But basically he says there is a likely possibility of unresolved main story elements like that showing up in events in the future as well as of course the usual continuation of standard events.
Q1: When a spirit guage fills, even though the partner of a crossover MA is ready, spirit gear is prioritized. These are two separate guages, so is it possible for this to be modified?
Q2: The bonuses for events are calculated from the equipped weapons/MAs. Is it possible to change this so that the max bonus will be applied for what the character possesses regardless of what is equipped?
A: This is a good question! So much so that it hurts! In a sense I wish you wouldn't ask. (lol) We're also aware of these problems ourselves and have been discussing it. Please wait until a future producer letter for the solution
Q: What is the future of Spirit Gear?
A: We are saving this for a future Producer letter. (Sounds like it will be a long report so they don't have time during this stream)
(There was a badge slide with mostly a "how badge quotes are decided" on question, but in response to the asker also stating they wish less run characters would run more, they said they are deliberating over how to fix this and to await future developments)
Happy Happening Wedding re-run and full voice pack release in April!
Tales of Asteria Campaign
We will be making a function that lets you set a wallpaper to the home screen. A campaign that allows you to transfer six favorites as wallpapers to Rays. (There is other info on this transfer out already and so I will not be covering this part)
Asteria x Rays event:
Around May: Events from within Asteria will be re-run in Rays
Afterwards: Preparations will be made to be able to re-run them anytime with re-run tickets
This is how the wallpaper is planned to be setup, with 4 illustrations lined up on the homescreen. Individual images can be clicked to expand.
Asteria Event:
Grain of salt. From what I can tell they're saying they'll be moving the two Rays collab events that ran on Asteria's side to Rays as a singular story and run as an event. Due to the format changes between games though, they will have to re-make them a bit, so it's currently in-progress. It will be an event that's re-run-able through tickets in the future as well.
Kotobukiya Merch announcement! Merch will run from May 19th - 28th!

A couple of the next badge acrylics (ft. Ludger bust) Shirley was also shown, though the camera couldn't focus on her, implying these badge acrylics will likely be heroines of Tales + Rays OCs akin to how last time was MCs of Tales + Rays OCs

venting
i feel like i havent been able to focus on anything i enjoy
totk kinda ruined zelda for me. crestoria and luminaria shutting down and the weird racism issues with arise ruined the tales of series for me. genshin kinda immediately took a nose dive so it never was fully enjoyable as a fandom to me. i fell out of love with guilty gear since my fear of antis getting ahold of my past ships makes me nauseous. even okage doesn't bring me as much joy as it used to. and pokemon is a fucking joke of a game series now, the mainline games have gotten worse and worse and lazier with each installment.
i cant tell if its my lack of enjoyment or if things are actively getting worse, maybe its both.
i feel like i cant even make ocs that are worth me being obsessed over.
like i enjoy my boys from red snow and i want to make another book for them, but i cant come up with anything worthwhile.
i want to make a dating sim, but i know the game dev burnout will never go away and i should give up while im ahead.
i wish i could get actual, proper help but everything is too expensive to even try

On the inclusion of games from Arise plus the mobile games in An Exercise in Futility: Arise’s backstory is at least hinted at in one night on the wild hunt (as well as, you know, having it written before Arise itself came out). Maybe I can introduce the ToAr cast someday in a fic? Possibly; it’s not really on my mind at the time of this post (but, as usual, the timing can always change).
Everything else, though, where Links and Asteria are concerned, I like to wager takes bits and bobs from them and integrated into the world, but they don’t really play a big role in them (e.g. I like to imagine the main cast from Links to be inner city kids in Pendrago that have heard about Velvet’s time as the Lord of Calamity, who, where they’re from, is considered a legend you don’t want to cross paths with). The Asteria OCs probably stay as far the fuck away from Pendrago as possible lmao
On Crestoria: It’s not something I’ve currently considered, and although I could consider its setting place the “NK of the Modern Tales world” I honestly think that’s a bit too dark, even if it could work in a setting that’s about as Modern Day Earth But Make It Tales Flavored as you can get. If I had to figure out how to make it work, they’d probably be in their own sister city that’s even more riddled with gang warfare and political corruption than Pendrago itself (timeline-wise, though...I’m not sure? That’s another thing to plan out: if ToC’s dystopian plot should have any mention in the current canon). I’m going to have to read the manga just to get a better idea (as it’s already starting to include the original character expies in it) - but again, it wouldn’t affect the overall narrative at large. If anything, it’d just be added fluff to the worldbuilding.
And on Luminaria: Technically and my gift to you is a taste of starlight and everything else that takes place after it does take place in this AU - but the cast is so far removed from the other Tales games a’la different locations that the chances of them interacting are probably next to none. I don’t really have any plans for, say, Celia to meet Velvet during her college years and Michelle mistaking them for being long-lost sisters of the sort (although that is an idea for a separate fic I want to mess around with, because Same English VA). If I had to decide where it would take place timeline-wise, it’d have to be post-An Exercise in Futility - as in, maybe a few years after the last AEiF fic.
Oh, and on the lesser-known, JP/KR-exclusive mobiles from the 2000s: ...I actually don’t know lol They’d just be more added fluff pieces but they’d flesh out the worldbuilding a little more.

HEHEHEEE MORE STUFF HERE WITH MORE BABIS! Meet my lil group of nonhumans! While they aren't all the demon siblings, they still are in the same world and the whole story wouldn't exist without them. These are the first characters in this universe I made and here they are!!
STORY STUFF BELOW
Ok, meet my lil group of outcasts! Their group name is undecided still, as it is temporarily "The Misfits", however I know there are many other things with that title. If you have any recommendations on what to call them I'd love to know! Just keep in mind when you see "Misfits" brought up, its just a temp. When I make a true name I'll be sure to announce it.
Luminaria Aphelion : Alien from a world that was destroyed. She was a high guard that was always by the Queen's side, however after the destruction, she got onto earth with no memory of her alien self. She's desperate to remember though, and she will, and find her Queen again.
Axel "Damaris" Wyvernfire : The second oldest of the Wyvernfire family, he's a halfling and for that, he was forced to go to Earth. When Annabella died, their bond had half a presence and some sort of power transformed to him. He got the ability to transform into a human counterpart whenever he pleases. He changed his last name to Damaris when he got on earth to make his name feel more normal, and not to his supernatural origins.
Zachary Einar: The older twin between him and Elena. He had some powers of magic at birth, mini telekinesis echolocation, and other minor abilities. He's studied more witchcraft as he's gotten older and his powers have gotten stronger along with learning more. His new main abilities are power absorption and minor atmokinesis.
Elena Einar: The younger twin, she too had some superhuman abilities. She has adoptive muscle memory, and somehow, grown with elasticity. She also has some enhanced stamina.
The twins and Axel bonded quite quickly by being strange superhumans, moving in together and helping eachother with more abilities. They called themselves the Misfits as a inside joke. Axel found Luminaria when she crashed and didnt remember anything. He decided to help her and the Misfits knew there was something different about Luminaria. They took her in as another roommate and are trying to help her regain her memory. Together now, the four have tried stopping whatever evil has come their way. As people seen as mutants to normal people, assassins and other sorts of criminals have been assigned to target them, but with their four powers combined, they'll get to the bottom of all this.

23. Who would this OC consider their family? What is their relationship with these people?
The Jedi temple for sure!! She's got a few masters and fellow knights she sees as parental figures and siblings, even if she struggles to get along with/agree with most of the others of the order? Master Allie is akin to a mother figure, with Luminaria as an aunt, and Windu as an uncle, with Aayla is both friend and sibling?
24. What is one thing that, no matter who it's coming from, would angry your OC?
Ooh... Now that's a really good one.. I think there's a couple I can pin down atm?? 1. Callousness towards those in need (ie. The whole pull yourself up by your bootstraps/they're leeches ideology); 2. Anyone speaking of the clones like objects, clones even speaking like that angers her, though the anger is directed at their higher-ups.
