hi guys.
if you don't want to read my ted talk about writing and taking a break, i'll just make it quick: i'm taking a break yet again, but this time i'm not sure when or if i'll be back. if you do want to know more, just keep reading. and i apologize in advance for this long ass thing.
i haven't been active lately for a couple of reasons, and being busy is one of them. the other reason is that i don't know if i want to keep going with this blog anymore. at least not at the moment.
writing is something i love to do and i probably won't ever stop writing, but lately i just genuinely haven't felt like making time to write. i guess this feeling comes mostly from a lack (? probably not the word) of response to the drabbles. maybe i'm being silly (i probably am) but i feel like in the past you used to be more responsive with stuff i actually wrote — fills and non requested drabbles, not general asks. mostly ongoing aus related stuff.
i've said this quite a few times but your feedback is really important to me, lumi, particularly. it might not be to other authors, but it's what keeps me writing. doing this for nobody doesn't really make sense in my mind... and i don't mean being 'active' as in leaving a like on the drabbles, because likes don't mean much to me, but i miss you guys actually talking about the stuff on the drabbles that you genuinely happy or that made you laugh when read it or that you just enjoyed to see. do you know what i mean?
and that's really what fueled me to write during these 2 years (almost) that i've been here. during these past months i know i've been quite busy and writing less than before, and each week i write less because i only used to make time to write when i knew you guys were waiting for it and that you'd enjoy what i wrote and come to me to talk about it... but ever since i started working and my classes came back, i keep thinking if it's worth it to write stuff if i won't know if you liked it or not.
and i also always feel like what i'm writing isn't good, and i know you will say otherwise, but it's a particular feeling. i can't help it. i know i'm doing the right thing when you feel the genuine need to come talk to me about stuff i wrote, because i might not like my own stuff, but if you do, then that's enough for me to keep trying to be better.
anyway, i won't keep talking and i've probably just wasted your time being silly and talking nonsense because you are quite active in general and there are other writers that are way better than me and don't get any attention at all, but i just felt like i had to explain why i'm not going to be writing for the time being and leave again — i promised i wouldn't just vanish for months like i did last year.
and i'm truly sorry to those who do interact with the stuff i write, i really do appreciate you all. i'm just probably tired and talking gibberish and maybe i didn't use the right words to express myself... all i was trying to say is that i'm not really motivated right now and really, really busy. and i guess you are too. i also don't want this to come out as 'scolding' (?) if this is the right word to use. i just feel like i am not writing good enough stuff for you to even have feedback to send over to me.
well that's all. i wanted to be transparent instead of leaving without a proper reason, because you deserve my honesty. thank you for the time 💛

Not being willing or being too afraid to hurt someone's feelings to unfollow or say "I'm not feeling this" (I would so much rather be told something isn't working or softblocked than someone feel guilty/discouraged if they're not enjoying interacting). And any sort of forcing or attempting to force one's own HCs onto someone else's portrayals.
🌸 the blog/s that most inspires me. There are so many! Outside of the shenanigans squad (who know who they are but I gush about them most so I'm going to branch out on this one!), I really love @aamaranthiine's blog! I love the thought behind all of Lumi's verses, the overall blog aesthetic, I love seeing the artwork Lumi gets commissioned and think her writing is really beautiful! I've also always lurking on @chatcambrioleur's writing on my dash pretty much the entire time I've been in the rpc! But honestly? Everyone. I did an extreme cleanup of my following list last week. It's a very short list now, but every single one of you I'm still following I think are so awesome and I love seeing all of your writings, hcs, musings - all of it, even tough I haven't gotten around to interacting with everyone in person yet!

hello all! how have you guys been doing?
this place has seen better days, huh? i sometimes get some notifications from my older posts and i'm always in awe at the fact that 4/5 years later people still come here!
since my dedication with this blog was... 0, these past few years, i don't expect this post to reach a lot of people, but i still thought i'd do it, both for me and for the older followers (hello! ya'll still remember why you followed me? lmao).
basically, i tydied up the blog a bit; i privated a lot of stuff, ranging from drabbles i didn't like to most if not all of my interactions with the anons. i wanted to "clean up" the blog in preparation for my (still thinking on it) "return". those interactions are still very very dear to me, but i ended up choosing to private them, i hope you guys understand.
the other thing is; even if i do come back, my posting schedule will be all over the place, just like the old times. i do intend on making bigger posts, SMAUs and possibly continue some series (finally write those ideas i had long ago), but for now, i'll stick with the "hours" (?), some tiny drabbles here and there with things i notice on my day to day.
finally, i'd like to say that i'll mostly stick to nct dream and add riize to the mix! quite honestly, writing for them comes more naturally, mostly because the age range is closer to mine.

Valentine - Ribombee: my first partner! I caught her when my family was vacationing in Alola way back. She's soooo adorable, and helps me out at the Center a ton!!
Chime - Chingling: my second Pokémon! I found him while studying in Kalos. He's more like emotional support for me, honestly. He's just as cute as Val!
Chansey: I got her from my employer (which I guess is the region???? Idk). She's very cool, and I think we work well together!
Lumi - Metang: Lumi was given to me by a friend in Kalos! They don't understand Galarian very well...and I'm no good at Kalosian...but I think they like it up here!! And they help out a lot!!!
Cheri - Spritzee: My newest team member!!! I caught her in Hammerlocke during my vacation (it keeps happening lol) She's super sweet!!!

This was a tough choice but my favourite has to be Lumie! From her character design, she seemed intimidating and distant. So when we first get dialogue with her, I was pleasantly surprised! Her potential character conflicts, the way she immediately took Nine under her wing, and her Ancient costume made me fall so hard for her. I’m so excited to see how the writers will develop her character as the story goes on!
I like to think Lumie is perfect pitch

Of course that means hours and hours of conversation with Vanessa

This guy originally struck me as a flat cliche character, but I loved him nonetheless. Until he started wondering if his dedication to Lord is really loyalty, obsession, or just something that happened because of pure chance. And then that basically had me pacing around asking myself what the difference between a loyalty and cult-like behaviour is. Basically I like the dilemma added to his character arc. Just recently I got midway through extreme mode, to that part of the story, and it made me like him more than I already did.
Somehow a genius at riddles????

Fire Rashad was the first time I considered making an in-app purchase tbh. I love him so much, maybe it’s because we both share similar personality traits and I relate to him on a spiritual level. Man’s a walking meme, I swear. I almost died laughing when he put his hands together like that dude in the trade offer meme. Sorry there’s no deep reason for me to like Rashad. It’s just that this guy made me temporarily forget I’m asexual so he deserves a spot in my top three.

It's absolutely been a "well this may as well happen" from the start lmao. Even writing her was a "well this is happening I guess" sort of deal honestly lmao; i hadn't intended to but then we started lore dumping for our WoLs in the tlf server on discord and i was like "well now i have to make a proper blog instead of just my wol headcanon blog" (which i dont even use now, i should probably do that actually. and maybe post my screenshots there again), and then i made the blog not expecting to be very active.
the only thing i had figured out at the start before her blog was made was the idea that she got started as the wol entirely by accident, didn't commit to the idea until HW and the Dragonsong War, and that she originally left home to experience culinary culture on a 'food journey'. other than those general concepts, everything else i've done has pretty much been developed through rp, memes and yelling at you in discord lmao.

several different reasons but a lot of it was burnout. i’ve been doing it since i was seven and i really needed a change of pace.
