Request via anon. This is the second fic of my angst event.

You lay in bed staring at the ceiling. You had to get up soon, but your chest hurt so bad. Suddenly you broke out into another coughing fit. Blood and rose petals covered your hands when you were done coughing, painting a beautiful but gruesome picture. Hanahaki disease, you remembered. That’s what you were told you had. The doctor offered to perform a surgery, but in order for it to be a success you had to lose your feelings for the person you loved most. Mael. You decided you’d rather spend your final weeks loving Mael than spend a life unable to. Speaking of Mael, you had planned to meet with him today. He had been wanting to see you a lot more often lately. Not that you minded. Even though you were sick, you wanted to see him every second if you could. You forced yourself out of bed. It's time to get ready.

You and Mael were supposed to meet at a small cafe. When you arrived he was already waiting for you. He looked at you with kind eyes. If only he loved me back, you thought. You thought about how it would feel to be loved by him. To know you’d see him every day. To buy him flowers, and have him buy you some. To cuddle. You held back a cough. It caused torrents of pain to rip through your chest. It must have shown on your face because Mael suddenly looked concerned. “Are you okay y/n?” he asked. You wondered if he knew yours. Probably not, you thought, he’s not in love like I am. Suddenly a pained look appeared on Mael’s face. You asked him what was wrong. He assured you he was fine.

A little while later you and Mael decided to paint each other using watercolors. You were in a field now, one full of daisies. You decided to paint Mael first. He looked peaceful among the flowers. Oddly peaceful. To the point it was errie. Regardless you painted him. After you finished you began to pick some flowers. You fashioned them into a crown and placed it on Mael’s head. He smiled at you. You then stayed still as he painted you.

Later that night Mael was walking you home when he began to cough. You grew concerned, especially when you saw blood. While you insisted he show you his hand he resisted. When he finally gave in you saw something horrific. Petals. You could only muster up one word, “who?” Mael shook his head. You shook him. “You have to get the surgery.” “I… can’t,” he replied. Suddenly you felt tears running down your cheeks. “Yes you can, and you have to!” you insisted. Suddenly the situation exploded. You were pleading, and he was insisting he wouldn’t. Finally, all you felt you could do was scream at him. He stayed quiet the whole time you did. After you finish, you regret it. It just hurt. He was in the same situation as you. He was in love with someone who didn’t love him back. You loved him so much, and this basically confirmed he didn’t love you back. After you were done screaming at him he didn’t say anything. He just walked away.

It was a week later. You haven’t seen Mael since the argument. Suddenly you hear a knock at the door. You open it to find Ludociel. A very angry Ludociel. He kept saying things you didn’t quite understand. You were so sick you could barely move, much less listen to him. Was this about the argument you had with Mael? Suddenly you collapsed into coughs. Ludociel looked at you in shock. You felt your vision blur. “Mael..” you whispered. A strange look passed over Ludociels face. It was one you couldn’t exactly read. Suddenly, Ludociel was supporting you so you wouldn’t fall. He didn’t look angry anymore just… relieved?

You didn’t remember passing out until you were regaining consciousness. You were lying on a bed somewhere. You were in so much pain that you didn’t feel like moving. Suddenly you saw Mael. He was sitting in a chair beside you, waiting for you to wake up. When he saw you were awake he smiled softly. “Is it true?” he asked. You just looked at him confused. “Do you really love me too?” All you could do was nod. At that moment two things happened. The pain in your chest went away and Mael politely asked to kiss you. You agreed eagerly. The two of you shared a brief but passionate kiss before he pulled away. “Why don’t we have a picnic to celebrate?” Mael happily said. Despite feeling a little weak you agreed. During the picnic you two joked and had fun optomistic of your future togather. Perhaps, you could even say, you had a fairytale ending.

Mael: I don't have my grace anymore.

Y/N: I will help you look. I promised, remember?

Yes, he did remember your promise. He also remembered how your voice seemed like a thread of hope at that time. He sighed, got up and agreed to help Elizabeth.

You were so happy you hugged his arm, which made Mael flinch a bit. He didn't think he was deserving of your attention, but you didn't seem to realize his flinching.

He allowed you to grab his hand to go towards King and Diane. His touch was hesitant, it wasn't a strong hold like you remembered.

You noticed you may be forcing a bit, so you took the chance to let go of his hand when you landed near Diane.

You all headed to help Meliodas and near your destination Mael caught Escanor. Who wanted to give his grace back, but Mael was hesitant to accept it, until you flicking the side of his head:

Mael: Y/N?

Y/N: Don't be such a fool Mael. Accept the grace, you can help them.

Y/N: It left and it is back. Leave everyone to me, I will keep Escanor safe too. Go on, take it.

When the fight was over and you were all in the boar's hat, it was complete chaos. You didn't drink, so you were helping waiting tables - you refused to wear that uniform - and care for the drunk ones - Mael included.

He was babbling about something you couldn't understand, but what truly got you startled was when you were walking away from him and he suddenly grabbed your waist and hugged you.

You just sighed. You wondered if you should heal Mael before he regretted saying something. While you pondered what to do, you patted his head. Slightly running your fingers in his hair, which made him snuggle to you a little closer.

You decided before the night ended you would heal him out of this drunk state. You asked Gowther to let you know if something weird happens.

He smiled, nodded and pulled Mael away from you so you could go back to waiting tables.

By end of the party you did heal Mael, to which he was thankful for and terribly embarrassed:

Mael: D-did I say something weird?

Y/N:... hm… I don't know. I couldn't understand you.

Mael grunted in response. You couldn't chat much, as some drunk people required attention - drunken hugs were being thrown at you - and Mael decided to give you a hand.

You were so tired by the end that you just fainted on the bed. You had a dreamless sleep, but as soon as you woke you wondered if the previous day was true.

Did you wait tables? Was Elizabeth free for the curse? Could you get a rest on the holy way? And most importantly, was Mael truly back?

You left the bed and went to look for him. You found Mael outside looking at the sky, his back was faced towards you.

You couldn't help but cry as you called his name. Mael turned a around a bit confused, but before he could say or do anything you dashed to his arms, sobbing while hugging:

Mael: Y/N? Are you ok? Something 's wrong?

Y/N: I… It's just.. you are really here. It's you here. You are back.

You sobbed a little hard on his chest. You felt Mael hug you strongly and a shadow appeared from somewhere - his wings were also hugged you.

You looked up at him, he was smiling gently at you:

Mael: I am here and so are you.

You smiled back at him, tears still running down your face. That was when he kissed your forehead and hugged you even tighter.

It was so warm and gentle. But at the same time strong and safe. You two stayed there for a bit until you heard Hawk screaming something and you both went on to check.

You went on ahead to see what was wrong, apparently Elizabeth fell while carrying some glasses and you decided to help clean it up.

As you chatted with her, King and Hawk Mael was standing a bit behind with Gowther next to him:

Gowther: So… when will you tell them?

Mael: Tell them what?

Gowther: That you like them.

Gowther's comment made Mael flinched at the phrase:

Mael:... I…

Gowther: They deserve to know.

Mael: It's not a good time.

Gowther:... not a good time?

Mael: … They don't.. I don't deserve them.

Gowther: I think that is up to them to decide.

Mael: Perhaps….

Gowther sighed as he watched Mael look at you so tenderly.

The angel was afraid of binding you because of a nostalgic feeling. Maybe you were just missing his presence and your feelings were confused.

Just like his. As Estarossa he came to realize that he loved you and saw Elizabeth as a sister.

He realized he confused the feelings. The type of affection. As Estarossa he missed you, he wanted to hug, to be with you.

But for now he was scared of approaching you. Gowther's final words to him pulled him out of this daze:

Gowther: I think they care about you a lot, so… make up for the time you lost.

Mael didn't answer him. But maybe Gowther was right, he should tell you. Just not now, now he wants to spend time with you.

Without worrying about feelings, just enjoying your time together and observe how things go. He was sure he would receive some kind of punishment from the Supreme deity.

But that was fine, because you would be there.

He was worried about you so he took that day off from his duties. He stood by your side making you soup and feeding it to you. He gave you all the blankets. The next day you assured him you will be okay but he still made the other archangels go and check on you. When you were better you thanked him so much but he just said that's what lovers do.

In the end once you were better you thanked him but he said he only did cause he loved you.

Simon-

This small man was the best nurse you can ask for. He did tell you this would happen if you keep training late at night. He felt he should have a vacation because of your stubborn self. He cooked all the meals, gave you your medicine, and he even read to you. Once you were better you told him you won’t train late into the cold night.

Dahlia, Dubs-

Okay Dahlia did not know what was going on with you till dubs pointed out you were sick. You both had to tell him what being sick means and he did think you were dying at this point. You had these two males your servants and you better feel grateful cause you will be the only person to see them like this. Even at one point Dahlia almost gave you the wrong medicine and that's why you thanked dubs for being there too. Once you were better they were proud of themselves for taking much good care of you.

This man started with an early morning breakfast and after that you both got dressed and headed out for the day. You both went out in a field filled with your favorite flowers as you both had a picnic. He packed your favorite meals and snacks. You two spent that time talking to each other and even cuddled up to each other when the sun started to go down. When night hit you both took a nice warm bath together ending it off with you in each other's arms.

Mael-

You both woke up at the same time making breakfast together as you both sat and ate together. He took you in the town of Liones as you both walked around together. You even bought him a red velvet cake, which he insisted you both share. At the end of the day you bought small chocolate hearts for you to eat at home. You both fell asleep cuddled in each other's warmth.

Sariel-

You both slept that day just liking that you both are cuddled up together. You both woke up and went out for brunch and just went out for a walk and even stopped to pick flowers to decorate your home. In the end you both baked a cake and yes Sariek did want you to feed him but he didn’t say it out loud. At night you waited for the small goddess to fall asleep as you made sure he was comfortable till you drifted to sleep.

Tarmiel-

You both spend Valentine's day inside. The day before you got a lot of games, snacks, drinks for the both of you. You both even did a 1,000 piece puzzle which you both grew annoyed and ended up just giving up. At night you both laid together just venting to each other as the other listented. Tarmiel waited for you to fall asleep as he snuggled up more to you as he went to sleep.

Demon Slayer

Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke-

You all three went into town as you tried different foods and battled in different games. You still remember how you danced with Nezuko as music played. Once the sun started rising you all went home sleeping and slept together.

Giyu, Sabito-

In this timeline you all spend the early morning together inside cause that’s what Giyu wanted and before it became dark and when the demons came out you will all go into the marketplace. You all baked goods and tried new foods too. You all soon set out to the marketplace as you bought the both boys flowers to where they thanked you. And yes like the others there was a demon but you got hurt in the process. In the end two boys tended to your wounds holding you close to them.

Asta, Yuno-

For some reason you all hung out. No training, no big missions, and no squad mates just the three of you. You all went down into the royal capital as you bought their meals as you also heard them talk about who will become wizard king. And Asta even asks you what type of flowers sister Lily would like and you just look at him, you did soon just tell him to send her flowers. Bell even roped you in with helping her with Yuno but still making sure you were far away. You all went your own different ways for the afternoon and you smiled having a good day.

Neige-

This boy was waiting for you and right before he left you crashed in front of him. “Heya snowflake” “Y/n are you okay?” “I’m fine”. You explained how you spent your time with Yuno and Asta and you were sorry. He forgave you as you both went into town.
