the thing about cultural abuse and intergenerational trauma is that it hurts the people who stay, too (runaan, claudia). it hurts the people who leave. it hurts the people who succeed at what they're supposed to succeed in, and it hurts the people who don't. the only way out is through. sometimes that means leaving, sometimes that means distance, sometimes that means reconciliation. the only constant is that freedom comes from change, and breaking the cycles for whoever you can. that something needs to change
