okay but episode 9 of queen of tears is a lot about family and i think the commentary on all 3 families is super cool.

You see the Baek family just slowly integrate the Hong family into their lives. Feeding them, taking care of them, welcoming them when they get home. When Hyunwoo and Haein coming back from the hospital and everyone is like "let's go eat now” and they all walk back home together. Plus you see how supportive the community like the nephew promising Haein not to tell anybody or the grandma comforting aunty Beomja.

Then you see the Hong family realizing they don't have real friends as everyone has turned their back on them. Friends, lovers, they don't have anyone and they don't know how to comfort each other. Haein struggles to comfort Soocheol after his wife ran off, the father doesn't know how to reassure his own family. They are very much a family that doesn't know how to be a family.

Lastly is Eunsong and his mom which is unsurprisingly more fucked up than Haein's family. Abandoning your son for 25 years just so you can climb the social latter is crazy but getting shocked that he doesn't listen to you or respect you is crazier. Also the son is crazy he needs to be hit with a brick.

Okay guys let me be clear I LOVE the l&co show. I love the cast. I love the adaptation.

But also. Part of me can’t help but think of how amazing it would have been if it was adapted in the 24 ep era of shows.

Because one thing about the 8 ep format is that there’s no time for filler episodes and man do I love a filler episode. Like the gang just messing around on a one off mission? The holiday episodes?! The slice of life content?!! The cast is so perfect they would absolutely body it

I'm probably in the minority with this but I wish the first 3 arcs of Sailor Moon Crystal were a two-part movie series (like they did with Eternal and Cosmos.).

This will probably make the Crystal fans seethe at the mouth bc God forbid anyone has an opinion different from them. But we probably would've avoided a lot of the embarrassing poor animation choices had they turned the material into two-part movies for each arc. They'd have more time to focus on the good bits that moved the story along. They'd have more time to also focus on the animation quality of the movies.

Maybe, as a result, they could've spent more time honing their character designs versus getting better after three FULL seasons of SMC.

Sorry not sorry, the designs in Eternal and Cosmos are way better than the poor attempts to copy Naoko's style that plagued the first 3 seasons of SMC.

see, despite the fact that i am a certified season 4 enjoyer and it’s been my favorite season literally since it came out. my favorite era of the show to fantasize about is STILL the first part of s2. the inescapable allure of cramming the entire cast into a one room apartment and making them experience the mundanity of shitty city life

doing basically nothing but schoolwork for three days straight will have you considering things like restarting a full ag watchthrough. for the record, I've tried that before. Don't-... actually, yeah. Just don't. fkjdhkjdhgd. God, I adore AG but here's the thing. When it's good, it's GOOD AND FUN AND HAS GREAT CHARACTERS AND FUN PERSONALITIES AND INTERESTING THINGS. But when it isn't good? It's... well, it's pretty accurate to what twitter thinks of AG which as far as I'm aware is "oh, yeah, that one exists. Forgot about that". But I was talking to friends about it, and almost got on my soapbox about AG's highs and LOWs, but now I really want to watch it some. It had some GREAT/WEIRD/FUNNY/MEMORABLE (to me) COTDs (Hi Brianna, Roderick [Paul's grandpa lookin' dude], Barbara, and Nicholai, to name a few I liked/remembered). But for each really fun episode, or each contest episode, you'd also get a lot of episodes that you'd watch and then finish watching, and the last 20 minutes were a blur and you can't really even say what happened in it, because some of ag is admittedly rather dull to the point of existing in its own space-time-continuum where each twenty minute episode drags on for 5 hours but also is over in three minutes. Okay, back to schoolwork, but if you guys see me talking about ag episodes again then blame my ITE professor for having a class that drove me to an AG watchthrough /lh, j.

i am truly so sick of 8-episode seasons of television.

The new ep is probably gonna be a standalone story and we’re all gonna smile and nod like a kid on christmas who didn’t get what they wanted but is still trying to be respectful

controversial personal opinion but i'm 16 episodes into the '98 trigun anime and I'm....not sure.....I like it that much.....it's not bad and I'll finish it because it's still very much enjoyable and it's probably going to make me cry at the end, but it's just not for me I think? maybe I would've liked it more if I'd seen it when I was younger? of course I love the characters but so far overall I vastly prefer the manga on all points, and I feel much more excited about stampede than what I'm seeing in the old anime.
