Now this is a hella hot take but I personally think KaiAo is much more interesting than ShinRan (for me). And fun too, because I've always been drawn to fun and teasing dynamics like these over the more romantic ones (if you get what I mean by more romantic).
KaiAo and Shinran both are such wonderful couples though. *Bangs fists on table* THEY'RE BOTH SO UNBEARABLE CUTEEE
Someone told me I have very similar vibes to Aoko and I've been reevaluating myself XDD. No but I can see it. I think we have a similar energy (in my brain at least, I'm much more tired when I go out) and even preferred fashion.
Would give her a kiss anytime. Definitely. Let's go out on a picnic and have a fun hangout. We would be good friends.

Basically it's the summary I wrote up there. I whole heartedly believe in it, because it's a fun theory and I've done it before myself (...ehem annoying relatives) - so it's definitely believable.
And I love the idea of Aoko Holmes being carried over from Nonchalant Lupin (<- Prototype of Magic Kaito. It's a fun read!)

3. SHINICHI/CONAN

Drawing was inspired by that scene where Conan gets suspicious of Hanzawa-san (from The Culprit Hanzawa, a spinoff of dcmk.)
Ok, so the thing is, I have a very strange relationship with him.
He's so silly, right? He so fun, he's adorable, so caring and well meaning, but I'm scared of him. I wouldn't want to meet him. I'm terrified even though he's so nice 😭. So I'd rather observe from a distance (hence the drawing ^ but I'd definitely set off his senses a lot.)
(What does it say about me that I'm scared of Shin/Cone but not Kaito? I'm working on overcoming my fear of Conan/Shin, I promise *on my hands and knees* I REALLY AM)
(My irl friend understands why I'm so terrified, I've explained the crazy stunts he's done and his very illegal spy equipment to them... they actually got a nightmare about Conan that night. He's such a law breaking little gremlin (affectionate))
So...no kisses for you, detective... only because I'm too intimidated 😭 But I'll gladly make content dedicated to you and fawn over you <3
If it's not already obvious, Kai > Shin/Cone for me. But he's definitely a close second.
Shin's/Cone's aesthetic? So peak. His detective work and general vibes with the series is so banging. That clean formal attire - I love wearing more formal stuff out. Being judged for it? At this point I don't really care hahaha.
His mismatching outfits are so endearing, but I don't really vibe with them.
Canon is kinda frustrating for me. Well, as usual, I love to pick out the pieces I love and keep them dear to my heart. Ugh I want more identity issues and character relationship focuses. And more Shinran, this is literally ridiculous for slowburn lol.

First Times
Let's think about first times! What was it like the first time when… they met? Their first confession, their first kiss, or first date? The first time they bought something important jointly, the first time they moved in together, their first big fight, their first “not today”? Tell us about the first time they did something!
No Childhood Friends AU
Forget about Shinichi and Ran meeting in kindergarten. If they met later, as teenagers or adults, they would carry a past full of experiences that do not include each other. How has life been for them up to this point? And how do they meet? Is it due to their jobs, are they neighbors, or do they happen to be at the same place at the same time? Anyhow, there is attraction, interest. No way they can just let it go. How will they manage whatever it is they are feeling?
Day 2
Conan Revelation
It’s time to face the truth. How would it come out? Accidentally? Would it be Ran who finally brings it up or would Shinichi tell her? How would he do it? And what about Ran's reaction?
Role Reversal AU
What if instead of Shinichi, Ran was the one who got shrunk into a seven-year-old? Or what if Ran had been the detective geek and Shinichi the one who didn't care about mysteries that much?
Day 3
And There Was Only One (…)
Shinichi and Ran face a situation where they need to share something they are not used to, like… There is only one room left in the hotel. Maybe only one bed or only one blanket to warm themselves. Maybe there's only one free chair left at some party, or a drink from the only available glass or can... How would they react and what would they do?
Flying to Los Angeles (E162)
You remember this scenario, right? Such closeness. What happened before Ran fell asleep? What was she dreaming while leaning on Shinichi? Or maybe she was faking? Oh, and what was going through Shinichi's mind at that moment… I wonder…
Day 4
Hurt/Comfort
The world is full of concerns. Conditions with lifelong effects, painful memories, hurtful losses… broken dreams, doubts about the future or about ourselves, feeling not being enough or being unable to meet others’ expectations or our own goals. Luckily, they have each other! How would they find out about each other’s fears or would they be open about them? How would they try to cheer each other up, get the other back to their feet and support them?
Fake Relationship AU
Does Ran has some stubborn admirer who would like to go on a date with her, but she isn’t interested? Does Shinichi have a case where he needs Ran to pretend to be his fiancée? Or maybe they need to fake another kind of relationship, something that doesn't have anything to do with romantic feelings? Or maybe they don't get along at all or even know each other before the fake situation!
Day 5
Family
Shinichi and Ran visiting Shinichi’s parents in America? Shinichi helping Ran with drunken Kogoro? Both of them in a cafe with Eri? Maybe both the Mouri and Kudo families are together on vacation? Perhaps there is some relative that isn’t mentioned in canon and they meet ShinRan for the first time? Ooooor maybe Shinichi and Ran having their own offspring?
Honeymoon
We had the wedding; now it’s time for the honeymoon! A time to forget about the real world and relish the company of your beloved, to focus on how deeply in love you are, and experience awesome things with them. Where do Shinichi and Ran go to spend their first days as a married couple? Do they stay in Japan or travel overseas? Is it a relaxing trip, or a thrilling journey? What is the most special thing they do?
Day 6
Sick/Injured
Homebound because of a bad cold, or in need of somebody’s help to do anything because of an injury… What happened? Who is convalescent and who is playing the nurse role to take care of the other? Are they good at it, or… do they make it worse?! Are there some habits they would do when another one is sick/injured or does this scenario new for them?
Black Organization Takedown
Time to take down the ones who are responsible for why Shinichi is Conan. And of course, our heroine would be part of it. But how? How would she assist the love of her life? Would Shinichi know about it or would it be a surprise? Would Ran team up with him from the beginning or would she show up when he needs her the most? Or what would happen when everything is over?
Day 7
Soulmates AU
There are many stories about finding a soulmate: sharing a telepathic link with each other, hearing the same song in their heads, meeting in dreams, or feeling when the other one is feeling strong or is in danger. Some have matching marks like tattoos and names, and some share their injuries. Some can only taste, smell or see colors after meeting their soulmate. Some get a timer that tells when they are meeting their soulmate, some know their soulmate’s secrets and some can’t lie to their soulmate, and… some don’t have a soulmate at all, or the other one's soulmate can be someone else. What about Shinichi and Ran?

Why Hattori and Kazuha are still not together
So Gosho Aoyama calls DC a "love comedy" mostly. But the reason Heiji and Kazuha are still not together is simply because Ran will be left out. Throughout the series we have seen couples coming together. Takagi and Satou being another beloved pair then followed by Shiratori and Kobayashi sensei, Chiba and Naeko even Yumi and Shukichi. But these are proper working adults who have gotten together over a period if time. But in ShinRan's case, the two are almost as good as a pair right from the start, but the only reason the two are apart is because Shinichi is in Conan form. Now that the series has progressed this much and all the pairs have properly been fleshed out, even the newer ones like Kansuke and Yui and Yokomizo and Chihaya are pretty much canon, Ran will truly become alone from the love comedy angle. That is why the adult pairs have become stable couples and the younger ones are still not together despite the confessions. ShinRan are obviously together but it is long (short) distance. Sonoko in all actuality got Mokoto as a boyfriend even before Ran and Shinichi confessed to one another, but as I stated Ran should not be "alone" so the two of them are also in a long distance. Thanks to Heiji's petty rivalry with Shinichi and his obsession on finding the perfect spot Heiji and Kazuha have also not gotten together and now that Heiji is aware of his feelings we have the meddlesome Momoji in the scene.
I think this part gets very nicely explored in the op 52 'just believe you' where all the couples get shown together but Conan is searching for Ran who is standing alone, waiting for him and when he finally finds her, he reverts to being Shinichi.
And of course the lovely moment when they reach out for one another!!!

okay okay okay top ten detective conan things? what do u like most, what do you like to write about/think about, who's your favourite character, that kind of thing
I'm not sure it's actually gonna be in order but whatever
1) In case it wasn't obvious I love Kaitou KID. He's an absolute little shit and each time he smirks I'm like "oh no". I have a stupid crush on this idiot. He's so fucking dramatic. My rewatch of detective conan ended up in a "let's rewatch all the movies with KID and then we'll catch up with the rest".
This is his first appearance but he's still a dumb teenager
2) I miss the style of early Conan it was so so good, around when the FBI arrived I think it's when it started to really change and I found it sad. Conan little round face. Full of unbridled rage. All his littles expressions.
3) Speaking of early Conan he had such a strong gremlim energy. Like sure Shinichi as well but Conan had no limits. He got turned into a kid and decided it was going to be everyone else problem.
4) The manga is getting way too long and while I understand it's probably partly due to editorial decisions and the fact it is somewhat due to the kind of manga it is, the fact it's both trying to have a plot and stay plotless is starting to get tiring, plus we are starting to have a bit too many characters to care about,,, gimme back the original crew, I feel like we haven't seen Sonoko or Kogoro in ages.
5) For some reasons I just don't like Eisuke. No particular reason I just don't like him djdjdjd. Also for the longest time I only knew of him from fics and was expecting him to look different and when he appeared in the manga I was like shockedpikachu.png.
6) Idk I'm just rambling at this point. When I got back into the fandom I started with reading fics for a while before reading the manga and I shipped KaiShin a lot then. But after reading the manga I was like, ShinRan is so perfect and beautiful together. I love them so much. And I guess in a way KaiShin has lost some of his luster to me now djdjdj even though I still love their relationship in a platonic kind of way.
7) The latest case with the kidnapped kid is so fucking dumb,,,,, I'm like, that's not even suspension of disbelief at this point,,,,,,, I understand they want to put forward Amuro/Rei and his police friend who all died because Rei is one of the fandom favourite but also, that's why flashback and spin-off exists.
8) I still have a very soft spot in my heart for the Detective Conan one-shot I wrote about Haibara being able to say goodbye to her sister. Related but I love how Akemi's death and the Moonlight Sonata case stuck with Conan. How they influenced his character, and they're some of my favourite cases overall because we get to see how he deal with "failure", how human he is.
9) Desperate revival arc my beloved. The scene in the cave where he got Shot and the detective boys are all trying to get him out and bring him to safety and Conan still trying to guide them but passing out and aaaaaaaahhhh I just loved this so much. Another passage I really like is the halloween party where there's like Heiji disguised as Shinichi disguised as a Mummy. As a rule I just love the use of disguises. The theatre where Haibara was disguised as Conan and Heiji as a poorly done Shinichi and Shinichi as the black knight 10/10
10) I also love the way Aoyama draw when Shinichi feels his heart going when he turns back into Conan. It's just. *chef kiss*.

By the Angels I CANNOT CHOOSE. Can we go with both here 👉👈
On one hand, canon-verse/canon-divergent fics helps quench my unsatiable OTP thirsts and deals with the what-could-have-beens (basically what the we all actually need and want!!) On the other hand, I enjoy AUs so much because we get to see how the beloved characters would be like if they get thrown outside the canon that we’re all familiar with.

16. Describe your WIP that currently has the highest word count.
It’s ShinKazu! In which Shinichi and Kazuha are soulmates and predestined to be lovers, but they’re actually in love with other people. A.K.A starcrossed heikazu and shinran story if you cant already tell, with many shinkazu friendship moments! Because even though they don’t love each other romantically, being soulmates mean they connect with one other on a higher level than anybody else can.
(because Gosho has never shown us Shinichi and Kazuha properly bonding before even though they’ve got so much potential and the only thing I can do is to write my heart out)
19. What’s your favorite character headcanon?
Heiji often wakes Kazuha up in the middle of the night, just to kidnap her and go somewhere on his bike. He’d simply say that he can’t sleep. She’d whine and complain, and yawn the whole time, but she’d always go with him anyways, as long as he takes her back before her father wakes up. I’m pretty sure Heiji and Kazuha have their own spot at the higher grounds on the outskirts of the city, somewhere the twinkling skyline of Osaka beams with pride, the glowing city lights streaming into space and illuminating the night sky.
In the winter, they’d always go out and play under the first snowfall of the year. Doesn’t matter if they’re currently in class, or if it’s (again) in the dead of night. When they first experienced their first snowfall together as toddlers (at the park near the police HQ, but that’s kinda irrelevant) an older lady came up and told them that they’d be together for a long time and have a long-lasting friendship, referring to the special meaning of the first snow. They didn’t really understand, but “together” and “friendship” both sounded nice (and smol Heiji wasn’t as big of as tsundere as he is now).

Notes for Cases 600-700:
Similar to the 500s, I don’t have as many attachments to these chapter because I was caught up with the series rather than binging it all at once. This is probably when I was most active with the fandom - when I read most of the classic DCMK fanfics and actively participated in DC servers and youtube AMVs (my top ranking video is KaitoXAoko and my Sonoko video is still in the top 20 search results for Sonoko Suzuki last time I checked). (I’ll ALSO have you know I convinced my middle school choir to be named after a particularly good fanfic - Windfall).
But at the same time my attachment to canon was a lot looser than earlier in the series. It was good to see Shinichi back, and Gosho put in a lot of interesting plot developments that have come into play since then.

My favorite bit was probably the Paper Airplane Kidnapping Case. It was a fun case to begin with, and I adored the reliance and faith that Ran and Shinichi had in each other (similar to the Detective Ran case). It’s just good to see them talking to each other and see how their relationship is when it’s not Shinichi faking anything and giving Ran his full support, and Ran (of course) giving it her all.

I knowwwwwww right???? He full on asks her? like yeah, Ran obviously went for the kiss but our beloved deduction geek could not stand it any longer and had to ask her what her feelings are towards him? I AM DYING I NEED THE FULL CHAPTER AND FILE 1005 ALONG WITH IT (though I bet this is all we get and since file 1005 will be about rans feelings there will almost be another breakthrough with the two but then Shin turns into Conan again...)
Allow me to take advantage of your ask to full on rant about this gift that has been the spoilers of file 1004:
There are so many amazing and unbelievable things about this that have made me so happy that I’m going to start by saying that I completely understand why some people are disappointed. As I stated numerous times before the actual spoilers came out, it was a very arduous task not getting hyped up. The arc looked terribly promising, it was giving us everything we had ever wanted and more, the implications of a kiss where more than palpable and we had been blessed with so many shinran moments that it was hard not to be excited. However, one must be cautious and remain calm about it –otherwise you get disappointed.
A lot of people were probably expecting a full-on kiss instead of a cheek one. I have to say I don’t know what I was expecting, but I was not disappointed. Taking into account the way the relationship has been developing over the last years (it took them years to actually get to London, and years to get Ran’s response –if we can count this as a response) it’s not exactly surprising.
Let’s be clever about this for a second: this is Shinichi and Ran we’re talking about. These two idiots waited seventeen years to finally realize and tell each other (or even admit to others) how they felt. They blushed even at the thought of hand holding, and never even imagined the other could feel the same way, let alone act on their feelings. They are the world’s less pro-PDA couple in the history of ever. And let’s keep in mind Ran still doesn’t know anything about Shinichi’s situation.
Is it really that big of a surprise to see a kiss on the cheek come before an actually kiss?
It’s not surprising to me, and it’s certainly not disappointing. That page is the single cutest thing I have ever seen in my entire life. There are so many beautiful things in that page that I can barely single them all out. So let’s go to the big ones. The ones that made my heart burst with beauty and pride and happiness. The ones that made me literally cry.
Ran is grabbing him by the tie. And I am never ever in my life going to shut the fuck up about this. Ran Mouri –karate queen, blushes-at-the-thought-of-Shinichi-always– straight on grabs Shinichi –can barely think when she’s around– Kudo by the tie to kiss him (on the cheek). Take a second to analyze the full meaning of this sentence. Ran Mouri who is so shy. Ran Mouri who is innocent and pure to the very last hair on her head. Ran Mouri who loves and cares for this stupid, reckless boy more than anyone has ever cared for anything or anyone in the world. Ran Mouri who hasn’t seen the boy she would die for in MONTHS.
Ran Mouri is sick and tired of waiting and not having Shinichi Kudo around and is not taking any shit. Ran Mouri came here with a plan and she is going to motherfucking ace it. Ran Mouri is in love with Shinichi Kudo and she is tired of hiding it and pulling back.
Ran is here to have her man and she ain’t having none of your bullshit.
And Shinichi –boy oh boy am I proud as ever of my boy. Shinichi takes the initiative. Shinichi who struggled for years with his feelings. Shinichi who is distracted by emotions and blinded by love. Shinichi who was barely brave enough to hold her hand on a rollercoaster is taking the initiative and asking her about her feelings towards him. Because he took the first step and he’s going to make it count. And the world be damned if it thinks he isn’t going to get this thing going. Shinichi motherfucking Kudo confessed to Ran in London and he is in Kyoto to get shit done. He came with a plan and he is going to motherfucking ace it. Because he’ll be damned before that shithead Okita even looks at Ran.
Shinichi is here to have his woman and he ain’t having none of your bullshit.
And MY GOD is his reaction in-character and priceless. Because this is what I love about this dynamic: Shinichi always gets so much more than what he bargained for. In the first chapter, he jokes with Ran (as Conan) about Ran’s possible feelings for Shinichi –fishing for anything much?– expecting Ran to avoid the question, or shut him down (even though he really doesn’t want that to happen). And Ran SMACKS THE HELL OF OUT HIM with her confession of feelings towards him. He never in a million years would expect that to be her response, and when it is it just hits him smack in the head like that outcome never even crossed his mind. And this is exactly the same. I don’t know what he’s expecting when he asks Ran about her answer, but I can assure you it is definitely not her kissing him. And she just goes for it. She surprises him again. She amazes him again. Because this is one thing Shinichi will never solve –not completely, maybe not ever. And that’s exactly what makes this entire thing perfect.
They are so tired of waiting. They love each other so much and are so done with not being able to do anything about it that they’re just going for it. They are making the most of what they have in their own way and going for it.
Do you understand the vast amounts of character development this entitles? Can you even imagine the repercussions of all of this?
I would’ve never thought any of this was possible even in my wildest dreams.
I have been shipping this shit my entire life. I have sold my soul to these two, I have dedicated hours and days and months to their love. They are MY CHILDREN. And I was so used to giving, and now I get to receive. We all get to receive. This whole exchange has filled my heart and made it soar. It has filled me with happiness and proudness and joy in so many ways because Shinichi is back and Ran knows how he feels and they’re not in pain and they get to be teenagers for once in beautiful Kyoto and Shinichi is done with waiting and asks her about her feelings and Ran is even more tired of waiting and both of them just want to be with the other because thus is the power and strength of what they feel and Ran FuCKING GRABS HIS TIE AND KISSES HIM (on the cheek) BECAUSE HE IS SHINICHI AND HE IS HERE AND FOR ONCE EVERYTHING IS FINE AND THEY ARE TOGETHER AND IN LOVE AND HAPPY AND NO ONE IS EVER GOING TO TAKE THAT AWAY FROM THEM OR ME OR US.

Ok I think I can finally write my thoughts about the romantic development based on the text spoilers even though i’m still panicking because HOW CAN I NOT!!

Shinichi and Ran 1005+
I really really can’t wait to see how Gosho illustrated Shinichi reaction and initiative to GO FOR THE LIPS. It is implied that the attempt happened immediately after the cheek kiss so he just went for it without hesitation! Shinichi!!! That shy-awkward-around-ran went for it for real!! We got to see Ran overcoming her lack of confidence and now to see it with Shinichi makes me very happy AND PROUD. This is a big step and oh my god his text message makes me so happy as a Shinran shipper that I can read it forever!!! They are being more honest with each other and i’m glad that Shinichi efforts paid off because oh boy he will deal with nothing but hell after this file.
My only concern so far is the status of Shinran’s relationship because he said “I couldn’t properly respond” and this actually worries me because it implies that shinran is not canon yet and we might have to go through a he confessed > she responded > he responded to her response > never ending circle until the end. It’s still vague to me and I don’t know what to expect. Also, I am not that happy that he escaped just like he does every time and Ran’s response is always always the same “I guess I will forgive him this time” I kinda wished for a bit twist because their progress is as slow as a snail and if his escape goes unnoticed again (and judging by where the plot is heading it feels that shinran development will be on-hold again for a long time AND I’m not talking about her suspicion). In Desperate Revival and Shirigami-sama, his escape left an impact on Ran and me as a reader but since London it seems that it became natural for him to appear sick and vanish? Which I personally don’t hope to happen again with them especially that we get Shinichi every 200+ chapters or so.. therefore I wish for a twist in this but since we didn’t get spoiler pictures it might have been different so I will put some hope onto that. I just don’t want to go back to the lack of Shinran development post London because because something HAPPENED this time and Ran asked him about their status.. My only hope now is Sonoko sama since she probably witnessed the almost-kiss now that Sera did. I can only entrust Sonoko with shinran moments if nothing happens to their relationship status (love you Sonoko!).
I’m also very excited to see Heiji’s reaction when he learned about the kiss from Sera, I can already imagine his SHOCKED FACE xD but im happy because his competitive side will probably not let this slide and he will step up his game with Kazuha (or so I hope). Another reaction I want to see is his reaction when Shinichi shrunk, it must have been a terrifying sight to see (and seeing his beloved Kudo suffering doesn’t help much..) anyway bless heiji in this chapter.

and His energetic buddafield
empowered the way to enlightenment
to those who followed Him
since the buddhafield
of Shakyamuni Buddha
has waned in space and time
for salvation we can only rely
on Amida Buddha’s vow power
we live
in a world of suffering
and the way
to buddhahood and nirvana
has become a thing of difficulty
in this age of mappo
when the power of Shakyamuni’s
buddha-field has faded
our only path to buddhahood now
is through Amida Buddha’s primal vow
the primal vow
of Amida Buddha is simple
to become a buddha
simply say His Name and be saved
by listening deeply to the dharma
some think of Amida
as a deity, as a god
but He is much greater than that
He offers a path to anyone
to become a buddha like Himself
I do not simply worship
my savior Amida Buddha
I offer Him my gratitude
with my entrusting mind and heart
for His gift of salvation
buddhahood is free
there is no price on it
simply entrust
in the power of Amida Buddha
through his all-embracing primal vow
Amida’s primal vow
is the answer to all beings
who have suffered interminably
in the cycle of birth-and-death
it is the vow that saves one and all
I hear Amida’s Call
it is His call to all
who suffer in birth-and-death
it is the answer to all
who yearn for enlightenment
I love Amida Buddha
how can I feel otherwise
for He has saved me
from countless kalpas of suffering
on the wheel of birth-and-death
Amida Buddha’s Compassion
is truly Boundless
it extends across the wide
distances of space and time
saving all who suffer in samsara
all that is necessary
to answer Amida Buddha’s Call
is to entrust completely
in His saving primal vow
with a heart of simple faith
to entrust
in Amida Buddha’s Call
is simple indeed
it is with the entrusting heart
of a baby to its parent
Amida Buddha’s Light
extends to the farther corners
of space and time
embracing one and all
with the gift of buddhahood
Amida has already saved
all the suffering beings
it is only a matter
of when their karma ripens
and they accept His great gift
buddhahood
is the ultimate desire
of every living being
it is to their aspiration to buddhahood
that Amida Buddha’s Call is directed
countless
already are the beings
Amida has saved
unsaved beings are yet numberless
Amida has saved them all
whether then or now
or in the future
all beings will have come
to entrust themselves
in Amida’s saving great vow
though I did not know it
when I first encountered
Amida Buddha’s Light
He was already calling me and

once salvation in the present

December is the month to slow down a bit (in between hectic shopping sprees, at least). Here are 10 gems from our catalogue dealing with spirituality – and with Christmas, of course.
In today’s world, it can be difficult to let mind and body come to rest. Why not find inspiration in The Spiritual Exercises by St. Ignatius Loyola. Written in 1548, he gives a plan of contemplation to be carried out over a month.
Frances Ridley Havergal does something similar with her own book except that it’s for kids this time. Wake up your little ones with little devotional Morning Bells every day.
A German tradition beloved by kids and adults alike is the Adventskalender. Every day until Christmas, you open one door of it to see what’s behind. Usually, you’ll find chocolates, but ours is filled with poems, short stories, songs…
Speaking of tradition, one of the best loved recordings for Christmas here on LibriVox is E.T.A. Hoffmann’s Nußknacker und Mausekönig, which we have in several translations (into English and French). Add the adaptation by Alexandre Dumas (in French and Spanish) on which Tchaikovsky’s ballet was based, and you know why you shouldn’t miss reading this story!

The Ancient Egyptians were concerned with the opposite: How the living could aid the deceased in their journey to the underworld. Their Book of the Dead – here translated by E. A. Wallis Budge – prescribes exactly what to do.

i really love "Over the Phone Murder Case" so. so. so MUCH. there is just SO MUCH TO LOVE ABOUT IT. it's full of things that i love about detco. precious shinran content. mitsuhiko being a lil nerd. ai-shinichi banter. BELOVED AND PRECIOUS SONOKO-SHINICHI CONTENT. there is actual DANGER INVOLVED (HEYA MURDERER). shinichi making a mistake in his deduction bc he didn't notice something being so very worried for both sonoko and ran (like in "Sonoko's Dangerous Summer Story" case WHICH I ALSO LOVE). and how ran is a badass, and perfect, and STRONG AND GREAT (and shinichi needs to learn how ran is actually capable, and not a damsel in distress, strong both in body and heart, MISTER, THAT IS YOUR GIRLFRIEND, no wonder you in love with her). AND THE KIDS GOD THE KIDS ARE JUST SO ADORABLE IN THIS CASE, and how shinichi patiently walks them through the code ai and agasa came up with. not to mention the the whole fiasco with the photo and the kids trying to ask this stubborn boy to give up and all...
