Cherrygate - Rewritten
Author's note - This is my first try at writing, I replayed Love Island season one last week. Cherrygate gets me every time, they could have done so much. If main character is loyal she still gets shafted and blamed because of Erikah jealousy. I wanted to see if I could do something better, if you think it's awful sorry.
All grammar mistakes are my own and on my head be it.
Word count - 2000+
Disclaimer - characters are property of Fusebox.
Couple - Levi & Elena
18+ strong language
The Morning after Cherrygate
Elena woke for a split second she forgot about last night but only for a second before it hit her, she was hoping it was just a nightmare. How could he do this to her? After everything they had been through to get here...
“Oi, so it wasn’t a dream was it?” Tim calls over as her eyes glass over, she sits up offering a weak smile to Tim, “it feels like a nightmare,” she sighs wiping the stray tear on her cheek as she looks down not wanting Tim to notice but it’s too late.
He pulls back his duvet, Jen is already up, he makes his way over to his friend before pulling her in for a hug, “I didn’t see that coming. I thought he was really into you!” he huffs, “how are you feeling?”
She looks up at him, “I’m really upset,” her eyes become more glassy, “yeah, that was a stupid question, wasn’t it?” He weakly smiles at her as the bedroom door opens and Levi pokes his head in, he spots her awake with Tim consoling her.
He freezes on the spot, “oh, I didn’t think you’d be up!” He stood awkwardly not knowing what to say, “I’ve go to go....um...be somewhere less awkward!” Tim jumps off the bed and pushes passed Levi, “you messed up big time!” Tim whispers to Levi as he makes his way out of the bedroom.
“Leave me alone!” Elena spits at him before pulling the duvet over her head not wanting to speak to him, “I was trying to!” she heard him hiss at her before she felt the mattress dip and heard him sigh, “listen, I just want to say....” he’s cut off with the bedroom door opening.
He rolls his eyes, “oh great. Another interruption.” He looks over his shoulder at Cherry who just wanders in holding her phone, “morning everyone. I’ve got a text!” She smiles but it quickly fades when she spots Levi.
“What? It’s so early!” Rohan looks shocked, Elena pulls the covers from over her head, “why does this keep happening?” Allegra groans.
Cherry, today you and another Islander will take a trip to the local market. You must buy the ingredients you need to prepare a home-cooked dinner for the rest of the islanders.
#Onthemarket #foodforthought
“Right. Saved by the bell, I suppose!” Cherry awkwardly smiles, “come on, Levi. We’re going shopping!” He looks a little shocked, “yeah, ok! That sounds good! I think I was done here anyway, I guess I’ll talk to you later, Elena!” he gets up and Elena pulls the duvet back over her head, “I don’t think there is anything I want to say to you!” She calls out from the covers.
The other islanders look over at Elena under the covers, she heard Tim fill them in.
“Oh, Elena!” Talia takes a seat on the edge of the bed and pulls back the covers, Elena sits up, “I can’t believe he’d do that after he made such a big deal about recoupling with you!” Elena shrugs trying to not let it bother her.
“There has to be more to it,” Talia tried to reassure her, “he has been unsure about us,” Elena admits to her.
“I think you need to speak to him,” Elena laughs, “he’s a little busy right now,” Elena rolls her eyes.
“Ok, get ready for when he’s back!” Talia nudges her, Elena reluctantly gets up off the bed and heads for the dressing room.
A few hours later, Elena is sat around the fire pit as Levi and Cherry arrive back, she watches the islanders gather round the kitchen as she notices Levi looking for her as each of them make their way from inside. He looks disappointed when he can’t find her, but then his eyes move around the villa, she looks away not wanting to meet his eye.
She doesn’t move from her seat, or notice Jen making her way over, “you coming over to see what those two are cooking?” Elena shook her head, “rather not!” her stubbornness took over.
“He searched for you as soon as he came back!” Jen took a seat next to her, “didn’t look too hard, did he?!” Elena shrugs, “as much of a mistake he made he’s honest to his core. You must know what Jasper and Allegra are saying is complete bullshit! I think there is another factor to it. When we were playing never have I ever you remember he said he cheated?”
Elena nods, “I asked him about...” Elena looks, over to where Levi is, his eyes are already on her, he looks sad, his eyes pull away from her to the food he's preparing.
"I GOT A TEXT!" Tim calls out pulling all the islanders to him, "what is it?" Rohan asks, "let me read it. Islanders, it's time to find out how much you trust each other. Get ready to get wet in a game of sink or swim! #Trustissues!"
The islanders looks round each other, "this will be interesting!" Allegra teases the group. Elena rolls her eyes unenthusiastic, perfect timing! She followed the group out to the challenge.
Elena wasn't playing much attention until her name was called put, "next up, it's Elena and Levi! This should be interesting!" Jasper chuckles, the pair make their way up to the tanks and onto the platforms, she looks straight ahead, but she could feel his eyes on her.
"I'm sorry babe! I really made a mess!" He calls over in hope she'll turn to look at him, but she doesn't. Instead she looks down at the two buttons dunk or save, she hits one wanting this to be over, "hey which one did you push?" He calls over.
"Dunk!" She shouts back still not turning to look at him, "fair enough. You're hard to read sometimes!" She takes a deep breath not letting his comment get to her.
"They have both made a decision, time to count down!" Jasper smugly smirks, the islanders count "three, two, one!" But neither of you move…
Levi is confused, she finally turns to face him, "what people say and what they do are two different things. You should know that more than anyone!" She hissed before she made her way down from the tank.
She heard Levi sigh as she made her way back to watch the others, Rohan and Jake dunk each other which lightens the mood. Elena and Erikah are called up, "what do you say hun? Do I dunk you or save you?"
"Do what you want!" Elena calls over, "you always do anyway!" Elena mutters under her breath as she hits a button, the islanders count down, "three, two, one!" The water was cold.
Elena knew she'd dunk her, it made her feel less bad about dunking Erikah as she swam to the top, Erikah is holding onto the side as she narrows her eyes at Elena, "you dunked me! You actually dunked me!" Erikah hissed.
Elena climb out of the tank, "karma is a bitch or a dunk tank!" Elena smugly winked at her, pissing off Erikah even more.
Dripping wet Elena grabs a towel to dry off as the game continues, "Elena versus Cherry!" Allegra smirks.
Elena drops down her towel, she stood once again on the platform, she quickly glances at Cherry who looks apologetic at her. Elena pushes her button as does Cherry, "three, two, one!" Neither of them move, they look to each other in shock.
"I thought you were definitely going to dunk me! We should have a word later, ok?" Elena nods and they both climb down from the tank.
After the challenge Levi is in the kitchen cooking, he looks up as she wanders passed, "hey…" he says but it doesn't stop her in her tracks, she walked passed without a word making her way to the pool.
A few minutes later she heard shouting she looks up towards the kitchen where Levi and Mason are standing off until Jen pulls then apart, pushing Mason into the villa and away from the kitchen.
Levi's eyes meet hers from across the villa, she shook her head and turned away from him. His face falls knowing he was making everything worse.
Later that evening, everyone is getting ready for the big dinner, Elena wasn't really in the mood, Cherry sat down next to her at the dresser, "Elena, before we all head down. I just want to say I'm sorry about my involvement with last night! I shouldn't have kissed Levi, I came in here to make friends, find love and have a good time, but I messed it all up. I'm not saying it's an excuse, but my head is all over the place at the moment. I tried to put it to the back of my mind, but it's a bit hard when I watch him glancing at you all the time. I know that's not your fault it's Mason's, but I just feel like I'm competing with you for his attention. Which is why I kissed Levi…"
Elena stops her, "but you've seen me multiple times tell him, he is no more than a mate. So there is no competing for his attention. It all his end not mine!" Elena gets up and puts on her shoes, "I just wanted to explain why it happened and apologies," Cherry looks up at her.
"I don't blame you, you're not the one I'm coupled up with. So there is no reason to apologise!" Elena checks herself over in the mirror, "great! Thanks Elena!" Cherry jumps up a little brighter, "ready for dinner everyone?" Cherry claps her hands together before rushing downstairs with the other girls following her.
Elena flops down on a seat, she no longer has the energy to sit down and play happy islanders, within a few minutes she can her raised voices from outside. Rolling her eyes she pulls out a makeup wipe and removes her make up before changing into her pajamas.
It's a little quieter downstairs now, she pushes open the bedroom down and Levi is sat on the end of their bed, he looks up as she wanders over.
"Dinner was a disaster!" He looks back at his hands, "I heard!" She pulls back the duvet and gets into bed, he turns towards, "look Elena, I'm sorry about last night! It shouldn't have taken me all day to apologise, but I thought if we both cooled off first we could talk about it calmly. Erikah got into my head, telling me how all the boys fancied you…!"
She sat up and cut him off, "wait, so you let a girl, who is still pissed at me for picking Rohan at the last recoupling, get in to your head and instead of coming to me about it, you lock lips with Cherry?! How is it my fault the boys fancy me? I have told each and every boy that they were in the friends zone because I liked you! Makes sense!" She rolled her eyes at him.
"Erikah didn't tell me that!" He looks at her shocked, "you are the one I've been waiting to couple up with for weeks now we finally couple up you kiss another girl because of hearsay. How would you feel if it was Mason talking in my ear about you, making me doubt what we have and I kiss someone else?" Levi looks down, "I'd be upset you didn't come to me…" he looks up at her.
"Exactly!" She shook her head, he climbs up the bed, "I'm sorry! I still want us, if you forget me?" His face is inches from hers, his eyes flicker between hers, "only if you don't listen to jealous cows!" He chuckles, "I'll come to you before I do anything stupid!" He quickly peaks her lips making her smile.
He pulls her to his chest, she snuggles into him as the other islanders wander into the bedroom, Erikah frowns when she spots Elena and Levi cuddled up…
I'll deal with her tomorrow…

They snorkeled together, and swam to a small shore where they shared hugs, kisses, and seductive whispers. They had a pleasant conversation, even though Dracula disliked it when Marisol enthused to him about pop music.
Tumblr media
Then they swam to a pier where he kissed her cheek and mentored her at fishing.
"Not gonna lie, I'm impressed," admits Marisol. "He has so many skills."
Tumblr media
They spent the evening at a beach bar where they flirted and danced. Dracula recited love poetry for Marisol, who enthused about the possibility of meeting his family.

When she was hungry, Marisol got dinner from a stand, and they sat outside together having a steamy exchange.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then they moved to the beach where they chatted in the sand and kissed on a bridge.
Tumblr media
Back at the resort, the pair chose to forego their individual rooms, and stay as a couple in the Fantasy Suite, where they had an amorous exchange....
Tumblr media
Early in the morning, after some coffee, they kissed goodbye and returned to their rooms.
"I'm not having any doubts anymore," Marisol reflects. "Last night was wonderful. Dracula and I shared deeply personal... um, thoughts. We discussed marriage, and our life together. I adore him. And we're definitely compatible." "I feel the exact same way," Dracula reciprocates. "We made... very happy memories last night, and we only continue to grow closer."

Hello-hello everyone! Hey, guess what? A new chapter, finally! So sorry it's taken me so long, I've been going through the stages of "this is good!" to "this is shit" to "this is okay" to "might as well just post it because if I look at it one more time, I might throw my laptop out of the window". I'm sure many can relate to that too... Anyways, I hope you enjoy this one:)
You can read chapter 6 here if anyone is keeping up:)

Love Island: Ex in the Villa - Chapter One
Tumblr media
It’s the first day in the Villa for introvert Eòin, who’s been single since a bad breakup a few years ago.  There’s more to this shy single than meets the eye, and he’s got a few secrets.  But secrets don’t stay secret for long in the Villa
Features a mostly bisexual cast and a male MC.
Tumblr media
           “You look like hell.”
I shrug at the producer. “I can always leave.”
Ethan grins at me. “Just so you know that threat will only work so many times before I quit believing you.  Besides, I never said you looked bad.”
I roll my eyes and fight back a grin.  “You’re ridiculous.”
           “Made you smile though.”
Considering Ethan looks like sex walking packed into six feet of muscled perfection, I bet anyone with a pulse who’s even remotely attracted to men would smile around him.  I choose to keep that thought to myself.
“I still don’t understand why I’m going in with the girls.  Shouldn’t I be waiting with the rest of the guys?” I ask, nervously tying up, then letting down my long, black hair.
“Things are a little different this season since we’re starting over with a brand new production team,” Ethan answers, the warmth suddenly leeching out of his brown eyes. “Any nearly every cast member is bi, so we thought it would be a fun idea to have a mixed group doing the choosing this time.”
           “Uh-huh.”
“Oh, don’t look at me like that.  I know you have some concerns about doing the show, but I promise I really am on your side, Eòin.”
I gnaw on my cuticle and stare at him skeptically.
“Hey, hey.”  He steps towards me and places his hands on my shoulders.  “I know you’re worried, but everything is going to be fine.  And you’ll have me in your corner every step of the way.”
Warm hands.  Big, warm hands.  He’s so pretty.  Abort, abort, abort!
I step away from him and quickly push the inappropriate thought out of my head.  Catching feelings for anyone on this show would be stupid, but falling for a producer would be next level idiocy, even for me.
“Alright, it’s showtime.  You ready to go?”
I hastily run my hands through my hair and try to smooth some of the wrinkles from my shirt.  “Yeah, I guess so.”
Ethan guides me to the end of the drive, positioning me until he’s happy with the lighting and camera angles.  “OK, you’ll walk up to the Villa and the girls are going to come out to meet you.  There will be a few minutes for introductions and then we’ll call you out to meet the others and have you make first your coupling picks.”
“Got it.”  I take a few deep breaths and bounce up and down on my toes, trying to psyche myself up.  “K.  I’m ready.”
Ethan nods and signals for the cameraman to begin filming.  I make it three steps down the drive before he’s shouting.
“Come on, Eòin!  You need to look like you’re happy to be here!  You’re excited, this is your summer to find love… I need the viewers to believe it.  That’s the saddest walk I’ve ever seen.”
I will not strangle this man in front of all these witnesses, I will not strangle this man in front of all these witnesses…..
“That’s how I walk, Ethan.  It’s how I’ve been doing it for over twenty-six years now, and I’ve always been very successful.”
He hustles to my side. “We’re trying to sell a fantasy.  You need to either make people want you or want to be you.  We need you to give us some energy, some sex appeal.”
“I have neither of those things,” I say, blinking up at him from my diminutive height of five feet four inches.
“Liar.”  Ethan’s full lips curve into a playful smirk.  “I’ve seen you on stage.  You’ve got sexiness in spades; you just need to let everyone see it.”
           He thinks I’m sexy?
My heart does a traitorous little pitter-pat in my chest.
“We’re going to start rolling again.  You can do this.”  He pats my shoulder and once again takes his place next to the cameras.
I close my eyes and take a deep breath, mentally preparing myself.  I start to go through my pre-show checklist.  Shoulders back, spine straight, arms loose, sway my hips, barest hint of a smile on my lips.  And walk.
“Perfect!”  Ethan gives me a thumbs up.
The soles of my sneakers scuff along the cobblestone of the drive and I focus on that sound as the Villa’s iconic entrance comes into sight.  The door flies open, and a cute, bouncy blonde girl bounds outside to greet me.
“There you are!  We were wondering when the last one of us would get here!  I’m Dana, and you’re a total spice bomb!”  She flashes me an adorable smile.  “So pumped you’re going to be in the Villa with us!  But here I am rambling on, and I haven’t even asked your name.”
I return her smile with a shy one of my own, praying that I haven’t started to blush.  It’s been a long time since I’ve been on the receiving end of so much attention from such an attractive person.  “Hey.  I’m Eòin.”
“So great to meet ya, Eòin!  Can’t believe we’re all here.  I was a bag of nerves walking in.  How are you feeling about being in the Villa, Eòin?”
“Um, I wasn’t even goi-”  I stop talking when I notice Ethan waving his arms and making aggressive slashing motions over his throat.  “Insanely nervous, to be honest.  I’ve never done anything like this before.”
“Then we’re not alone! And you’re totally going to boss this. I can already tell,” Dana reassures me. “In fact, we’ll boss it together. I’ve got you, Eòin.  Who knows what will happen.. or exactly what your summer on Love Island will be?  Come on, let’s get inside.  I can’t wait for you to meet Kat… and she’s got a surprise for you, too!”
I follow Dana to the garden, glancing quickly at Ethan, who narrows his eyes at me in warning. The sudden pop! of a champagne cork makes me jump, and pulls my attention away from the producer.
“Cork popped just as you walked in.  That’s gotta be a sign,” says the sultry brunette holding a foaming champagne bottle.
“Eòin, this is Kat!  I made her wait until you showed up to pop the fizz,” Dana quickly introduces us.
“And I ain’t a patient girl.  Still, Dana bet you’d be a proper ten.  And she was bang on.”  Kat trails her eyes appraisingly over my body.  “Now I guess we’ll see how well you take a compliment…”
“Thanks, darlin’.  You’re both absolute worldies.”
Kat wrinkles her nose at my accent.  “Where you from, love?”
           “Kat!” Dana scolds her.
I huff out a soft laugh.  “Scottish mum, but my dad’s Louisiana Cajun.”
“American?”  Both girls eyes widen in interest.
           “Yeah.”
“Well I appreciate the compliment.  Glad to hear you’ve got good taste, babe.  Even if you’re just stating the obvious.”  Kat gives me an arrogant smirk.
           Okaaaay.
“Alright, enough chat. The champers is popped, and no way can we let good bubbles go to wastes,” Kat declares.
“Same!”  Dana grabs a glass and holds it aloft.  “Let’s get this party started!  Should we make a toast?”
“Ohh… I’ll start, you finish it, Eòin .  Here’s to a summer of…” Kat trails off, looking at me expectantly.
Out of the corner of my eye I see Ethan spreading his arms wide and waving them around.
           Jesus Christ.
Internally rolling my eyes, I paste on a smile, raise my champagne glass, and lie like a rug.  “Here’s to a summer of love!  I’m all about the heart, ladies.”
“He’s after true love!  Goals – but maybe not mine.”  Dana bumps her shoulder into mine playfully.  “Hoping the Villa changes that though.”
Kat snickers.  “Open to love for sure, but lust is a must for me.”
We all clink our glasses together and take our first sips.
“So what are your types on paper then?” I ask hesitantly.  I can already feel the stirring of attraction towards Dana, and I’d rather find out now if I’m not her type.
Dana finishes off her champagne.  “Love anyone who can make me laugh until I cry.  If you’ve got the bants, you’re getting in my pants.”
“Oh my god!” I wheeze, laughing and trying to drink at the same time.
Kat shrugs.  “I don’t really have a type.  As long as they’re a 6-foot, confident bad boy, with muscles and tats.  I get bored fast, and I need a boy who can keep me on my toes.  Or I’ll run riot.”
“Keeping it nice and shallow, I see,” I murmur to Dana under my breath.  She snickers quietly and pours us both another drink.
“I might mix it up a bit in here,” Kat continues.  “My nan wants me to find a nice boy.  I must have dated every player in Basildon.”
“I might’ve dated one or two of those in Manchester,” Dana chimes in.  “What about you, Eòin?”
I shrug, suddenly intensely interested in bubbles swirling around in my glass.  “I haven’t really dated much.  My only serious relationship ended about two years ago… and my work makes it hard to get to know someone.  So uh, yeah.”
Dana gives my hand a comforting squeeze.  “Then hopefully this summer you get a chance to meet someone special.”
“Yeah, I hope so,” I whisper, smiling softly as I look into her piercing blue eyes.
Kat’s phone pings. “I got a text!  Ok it says… Get ready to meet the other Islanders!  But there might be an unexpected surprise for one of you!  #HereComeTheBoys #FirstCoupling.”
“Just boys?”  Dana’s eyebrows shoot up in surprise.
Kat throws an arms around her shoulders.  “If we’re going to be the only girls we should take advantage of it.  Let’s go get ready!”
The pair dash of into the Villa while I slowly walk behind them, my stomach churning with anxiety. I try to motion Ethan over to me, but he avoids my eyes and draws another producer into conversation.  Occasionally the two glance over at me, and Ethan scowls as the second producer shakes her head.
Oh, that’s not suspicious at all.
Kat and Dana buzz around the dressing room while I pick through my clothes in the bedroom.
“What do you think the unexpected surprise is?” I call to them.
“I reckon there’s gonna be a proper plot twist lined up for us this season.”  Kat appears in the door way, bronzer in hand.  “Which means we need to be ready for anything!”  She raises a fluffy makeup brush in the air to emphasis her point.
“So looking best is a must-must-must.”  Dana has a bikini in each hand.
“I can’t stop worrying about this surprise.”  I fall back onto a bed and pull a pillow over my face.
“You know it’s gonna be big!” Kat shouts over the sounds of her hair dryer.
Dana snatches my pillow away.  “Don’t stress.  Dress!”
“Hey!”  I make a grab for it but she’s quicker.  She smacks the pillow against my chest, then skips away, giggling.
“The text said it’s about one of us.  And even if it’s not about me, I always want to stand out.”  Kat strides to the closet, critically examining its contents.
Dana nods.  “Agree.  First impressions are massive in the Villa.”
“I’ve got a cheeky feeling this surprise is about Eòin.”  Kat cuts her eyes to me.
I frown, nibbling on my lower lip.  “Really?”
She shrugs.  “Just a hunch.  So this is the time to go big with your look.”
“Yeah, you’re a hottie! The hair, the eyes, your skin. But you’d look even hotter in those tropical boardshorts.  Why don’t you try them on?” Dana urges me.
“I know you’re my competition, but you’d defo be the best dressed for the first recoupling,” Kat chimes in.
Dana lowers her eyes, then coyly looks up at me beneath her lashes.  “Even I want to choose you in that look!  You’ll be turning all the heads.  So are you going to wear that and stand out for the first coupling?”
Dana’s adorable, but Jesus and all his saints couldn’t get me to wear that hot pink and turquoise monstrosity on international television.
“Um… I’m going to check what else I brought,” I say quickly, ducking back into the safety of the bedroom and rummaging through my suitcase.  I settle on an outfit and go into the bathroom, shutting and locking the door behind me.
“You shy babes?” Kat calls through the door with a laugh.
I pull on my clothes in a rush, nodding with approval at my reflection when I’m done.  The long sleeve Def Leppard concert t-shirt is so old and worn, it’s threadbare and see-through in some places, but it’s light and soft, the clothing equivalent of a warm hug.  Plain, knee-length black boardshorts, and black thongs complete the look.
It might be a bit plain, but it’s me.
My phone chimes, the noise loud in the empty bathroom.  I run back into the dressing room and share the text with the girls.  “Eòin, the boys are waiting by the pool for the first coupling.  You get the first pick of the boys.  #TakeYourPick  #FirstChoice.”
           Oh god…
Kat scowls.  “As if you get first choice!”
“Go get ‘em!”  Dana gives me a gentle push out the door.
I step out into the garden and find two boys waiting for me by the pool.  Kat and Dana follow me at a distance, peeking out of the Villa to watch the proceedings.  Both boys cheer when the see me, calming some of my nerves.
“Here we go!”  The blonde sends me a smoldering smile.
“Now we’re talking,” the other one adds with a cheesy grin.
The blonde runs a hand through his hair, showing off a sculpted chest and abs I have a sudden urge to lick.  “Love the outfit babes.  All the flames.”
“You look blinding, darlin’.  Hot first impression!”  The second boy seems like a sweetheart, he gives off a genuine vibe that I instantly find myself drawn too.
“You’re on, Eòin!  How do you want to play this?” Dana stage whispers from the doorway.
I anxiously tug on the cuff of my shirt and offer the boys a tiny wave.  “Um, hi.  I’m Eòin.”
“No need to be nervous, darlin’,” the brunette says soothingly.  “I’m Alfie.  You seem like a total vibe, and I reckon we’re gonna have a laugh.”
I manage a small smile. Alfie seems pretty loud and boisterous, which is the antithesis of what I’m normally into.  But he seems nice.
           And nice can be good.
The other boy steps into my line of sight.  “Hey, Eòin. My name’s Eddie.  And you are absolutely my type on paper.”
I bite my lower lip. “That so?”
“I saw some factor 50 by the daybeds if ya wanna law it on a little thicker,” Alfie jokingly interrupts.
“Just being real bro,” Eddie smoothly responds.
“Just winding you up a little bit Eddie-mate.”
Maybe Alfie’s not going to be a good fit after all.
I tilt my head to the side, a little confused.  “Is it just you two then?”
Ethan signals to someone and another boy comes around the corner, swaggering towards us.
“Oh no.”  My voice is a barely there whisper and I press a hand to my stomach in an effort to stop the sudden urge to vomit.  My hands start shaking and a cold chill sweeps over my body.
“Hey gorgeous.”  Suresh winks at me.  “I always knew we’d see each other again.”
I curl in on myself, keeping my gaze locked onto my feet.  I blink rapidly, fighting the sting of oncoming tears.
“Do I still make you speechless after all this time?” Suresh teases.
I clench my jaw tightly and try to control my breathing.  The world becomes fuzzy at the edges, and everyone sounds as if they’re speaking underwater.
“Something’s wrong, we need to stop,” Ethan says.  “Cut.  Cut the cameras.”
“No, this is perfect,” the other producer, Vanessa, overrules him.  “This is exactly the kind of emotional response people want to see.”
He glares at her helplessly.  “Fine,” he grits out.
“You’re really not going to say anything after all this time?” Suresh demands, annoyed.
I shrug, still looking at the ground.
“For fuck’s sake, Eòin…” he growls.
“Dude, back off,” Alfie interjects, stepping between us.  “He’s obviously uncomfortable right now.”
“Anyone care to explain what exactly is going on?” Eddie asks.
“We used to be together,” I manage to say quietly.
“For nearly two years.” Suresh flashes the boys a cocky smirk. “I could say a lot more.  But I don’t kiss and tell.”
“Something tells me you’re leaving out a big part of the story,” Alfie says.  “And that’s probably why Eòin isn’t exactly happy to see you.”
“Getting the same feeling.  What went down?”  Eddie casts me a worried look.
Suresh shrugs.  “That’s personal between me and Eòin.  All I’m saying is mistakes were made and we broke up.   Well, he broke up with me.”
My head snaps up.  “Mistakes?  That’s what you’re calling it?  Why don’t you tell everyone what those mistakes were, Suresh?”  I’m unable to hide the hurt that creeps into my voice.
“Wow, we’re going there straight off?  There’s a lot more to it than this.  Defo two sides to the story.”
I hunch my shoulders and lower my head, trying to escape his scowl.
Two sides my pasty white ass.
“Spill, geezer.”   Alfie gives him a hard look.
“I slipped up one night,” Suresh mumbles, avoiding everyone’s eyes.
           “Not cool,” Eddie snaps.
“It was a one time thing,” Suresh tries to defend himself.
“Nah, geez, it’s never just one time.”  Alfie looks disgusted.
Suresh shrugs, cocky grin firmly back in place.  “Well, there’s a lot you don’t know.  But me being here changes the game, boys.”
“Or me and Alfie just became better options!”
“Good point, mate.”  Alfie nudges Eddie and smiles.  “What do you think, Eòin?  Do me and Eddie stand a better chance of coupling up with you now that your ex is in the Villa?”
“Um… yeah, probably,” I answer him shyly.
“Why eat stale bread when you’ve got two freshly baked loaves to bite into right here?”
Eddie nods.  “I’m with Alfie.  I might be ready to step forward right now.  Anyway, I’ve been pumped to get to know you since you first walked out!”
Alfie giggles.  “Cheers, Eddie, love you too mate!” He pauses.  “Oh wait, you meant Eòin?  That makes more sense.”
Way too full on, my guy.
I smile wanly.  “Have you always been a joker, Alfie?”
“Yep.  I get it from my old man.  He’s always cracking me up at work.  We’ve got a family building firm.”
           “What do you build?”
“For starters I could build a wall between you and Suresh if you want?”
Alfie’s unexpected offer draws a startled laugh out of me.
“Hilarious,” Suresh snarls, while Eddie chuckles appreciatively.
Alfie studies me intently.  “What do you say, Eòin?  Am I ticking a few boxes?”
I nod timidly, afraid to do much more under Suresh’s intense scrutiny.  “So what about you, Eddie?  What do you do?”
“I’m a country boy originally.  But often in London chilling with mates or doing modelling work.  My mum always said I have a face any girl would love,” he says cheekily.  “Little did she know the boys would love it too.  And luckily my agent agrees.”
Suresh scoffs.  “Mate… are you serious?”
“Nah, just bantering.”  Eddie shrugs.  “Truth is I’ve been single a while and I’m definitely read for something serious… with the right person.  What do you say, Eòin?  Could I be a bit of you?”
“You think I might be a bit of you?”  I tuck my hair behind my ears and straighten up, trying to seem a bit more confident.
“I like what I’m seeing so far.”
“Me too.”  We share a small, private smile.
Suresh shakes his head and lets out a low huff.
“Glad you’re on board.  You’re stunning Eòin, and seem like you’d be a vibe.”  Eddie subtly flexes, showing off his impressive biceps, and I bring a hand to my mouth to check for drool.
“What about me, babe?  Don’t I get a chance to have a proper chat?”  Suresh arches one dark eyebrow at me.
“I-I-I…” I inhale, trying to get my stutter under control.  “I don’t think I want to talk to you right now.”
Suresh looks away, his jaw tightening just a little.
“All right then. Time to chose who to couple up with!”  Alfie claps his hands.
“OK… um step forward if you’re into me.  Please.”   I wring my hands together, hoping Suresh doesn’t.
Alfie steps forwards first, shrugging his shoulders with disarming confidence.  “I was always stepping forward for ya, darlin’.”
Eddie steps forward next, rubbing the back of his neck with a boyish charm.  “For what it’s worth I think there’s real chemistry here, Eòin.”
           Nice.
A frisson of excitement runs through me at Eddie’s words.  And then Suresh steps forward.
“I know there’s chemistry here, so no sense hanging back.”  He smirks, his dark eyes sweeping over me.  I squirm and try to fight the blush that I know must be creeping up my cheeks.
Alfie raises his eyebrows in disbelief.  “You really think he’s going to pick you with that attitude?”
“This boy’s full of surprises.  Our future’s a bit of a mystery.  Like our past.”
“Whatever, bro.”  Eddie rolls his eyes.  “So who are you going to couple up with, Eòin?”
I anxiously chew on my thumbnail and dart my eyes to Ethan, hoping he’ll give me some instruction on what to do.
Alfie seems nice, but way too much for me, I think.  I can’t deal with Suresh right now.  Eddie’s the most my type… but I don’t know.  There’s something about him that I can’t quite put my finger on.
Ethan quickly puts me out of my misery.  “Alfie,” he mouths.
“I’d like to couple up with Alfie,” I announce.
Suresh sends me a dirty look while Eddie just looks disappointed.
Alfie gives me a tender hug when I go to stand next to him.  “So happy you picked me, darlin’.”
“Sorry to break this up… but not really!”  Kat barges into the garden.  “Girl’s gotta get her time.  Hey boys, I’m Kat!”
           “Hey lovely,” Eddie purrs.
           “Alright, Kat?”
I do a double take at the big, stupid grin on Alfie’s face.
           Fucking really?
She preens under their attention.  “From the looks on your faces, I can tell I’m not disappointing you.  P.S. I never do.”  She looks over the boys, her eyes lingering over Suresh the longest.  “Especially this one.  Couldn’t help but hear the surprise.  We’ve got an ex in the Villa….  Feels a little weird that I’m not the one bringing the drama for once.  But it’s early days.  Feeling curious about you, Suresh.  I’ve always loved a bad boy.  But even nice boys go bad around me.  You’ve been warned.”
“Coming on strong, Kat, that’s for sure.”  Alfie’s doing a really poor job of hiding his interest.
“I don’t know any other way, so if you like what you see, you know what to do.”  She winks at him.
Suresh looks at Kat teasingly, then he and Eddie both step forward.  “You’ve defo caught my eye.”
A sharp pain strikes me somewhere in the vicinity of my heart, but I resolutely ignore it.
Eddie grins at her.  “I had to step forward.  You’re a ten babe.”
“Thanks, boys.  You’re both absolute fire too.  I could see me having fun with either of you.”  She glances at Alfie suggestively.  “But there’s something about your cheeky grin and that bod, Alfie.  So sorry, Eòin.  I’ve gotta go with my gut and couple up with… Alfie.”
“Are you fucking serious?” I hiss at her.
She smiles at me innocently and takes her place at Alfie’s side.
The text alert sounds on my phone.  “Eòin, as Kat has coupled with your partner, you are now single.  Please make your way to the subs bench.”
“Sorry, babes.  I didn’t come to the Villa to not get what I want,” Kat says triumphantly.  She pulls Alfie close and runs her hands all over his body with a sexy purr.
I show her both my middle fingers and give her a dirty look before stalking away and taking a seat on the bench.
“Really, Eòin?” Ethan scolds me from the sidelines.
For good measure I flip him off too, then cross my arms over my chest with a huff.
           “Real mature,” he mutters.
I open my mouth to respond but Dana interrupts, approaching the boys with a warm, sassy smile and boat loads of confidence, until she stumbles in her heels.
“Whoa, all good there?” Alfie asks in concern.
“All good,” she laughs.  “I’m not used to heels.  Thought I’d make an effort, it being the first day and all.  You’re welcome.”
Everyone but me laughs, Dana’s infectious charm intriguing them.  Eddie and Suresh stand alone, Alfie has his arm wrapped around Kat’s waist.
            Wow.
Eddie steps forward immediately.  “Well, you’re looking great, Dana.  So I’m going to step straight forward for you.”
Suresh looks at me but stays still, saying nothing.
“I had a nightmare last night that no one stepped forward.  So, I’m glad I’m living a sweet dream right now.  Cheers, Eddie.  I heard your chat and I’d love to couple up with you.”  The two hug.
Suresh smirks at me… we’re now coupled by default.  “When it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be.”
I must have been a murderer in a past life.
I stay sitting on the bench, shell-shocked.
“Eòin!  Go stand by Suresh!” Vanessa screams at me after a few moments.
I obey, dragging my feet.  I stop about seven feet away from him, refusing to get any closer.
Eddie chuckles awkwardly.  “Well that was eventful.”
“First coupling done and dusted.  What’s next?”  Alfie cuddles a little closer to Kat.
           Gag me.
Dana’s phone goes off.  “The first coupling isn’t Finn-ished yet.  #Bombshell coming,” she reads out.  “Love it!”
“Oh my days!”  Kat exclaims.  Her jaw hits the floor as a redheaded hunky mountain man with tats and muscles swaggers across the garden.
“Hello, beautiful people!” he calls with a charming smile.
Alfie’s eyes go wide.  “Aw mate.  Look at this sexy pirate guy!”
         “Type. On. Paper,” Kat murmurs.
          This bitch.
“Wow.  You haven’t been with Alfie, who you stole from me, for more than ten minutes and now you’re chasing after a new guy.  Real classy,” I sneer.
She shoots me a nasty look but otherwise ignores me, choosing instead to focus on the new boy.
“What’s the craic, people?  I’m Finn.”
“Finn!  You sound Irish!  I love your accent!”  Dana skips over to him, seemingly forgetting all about Eddie.
“Very kind.  Yeah, I’m from Dublin.  You’re all looking unbelievable,” he says, gazing at all of us in turn.  “How lucky are we?”
Alfie and Eddie exchange a worried look, Suresh doesn’t seem bothered at all.
“I got a text!”  Finn pulls out his phone.  “Finn, in twenty four hours you’ll get to couple up with a person of your choice.  The person no longer in a couple will be left single and at risk.  #StealingHearts  #TakeYourPick  Wow, sorry all.”
Awkward silence hangs in the air as everyone takes in the news.  I pick at my cuticles, already trying to plan the quickest way to escape the Villa.
“Loving your tats, babe.”  Kat struts up to Finn and runs her hands over his chest.  He grins at her.
“So who do you like the look of then, Finn?” Eddie asks.
“In other words, who needs to be worried?” Alfie adds.
“Boys, boys, boys.  You’ll find out soon enough.”
“Wow, you’re almost as bold as me, Finn,” Suresh comments.
“I’ve barely got started, fella.  But on first impressions these three are ticking all the boxes.”  Finn points towards Dana, Kat, and me.  He shoots me a sexy look.  “Eòin, Suresh is your ex?  Let’s just say he’s got great taste.  You’re a real beour.”
I momentarily abandon my plan to escape.  “What’s a beour?”
“It means beauty where I’m from.”
The giggle pops out before I can stop it.  I bring my hands up to cover my burning cheeks and smile at Finn shyly.  Suresh suddenly looks a bit less comfortable.
“I thought Eddie’s abs were impressive.  But Finn, you’re something else,” Kat interrupts us.
“I like to stay in shape for sure.  You look like a gym girl yourself.”  He ogles her curvaceous figure.
“Nah, I do all my exercise on the dance floor…  Or in the bedroom.”
“Jesus, Kat.  You’re about as subtle as a brick through a window,” I snark.  Dana and Eddie try to smother their laughter and Suresh looks at me appraisingly.
“Nice to know you’re as acerbic as ever,” he says. I stick my tongue out at him.
“Wow, Kat.  That’s got my heart pumping fast.”  Finn fans himself with one hand.  “You all don’t hold back… one’s got bants for days, you’re turning it on… the Villa’s going to be fun for sure.”
“So what do you, Finn?” I inquire.
“I make people happy for a living.  I run a craft brewery with some pals.”
Dana raises her phone.  “I got another text, guys.  Islanders, get ready to take part in a couples quiz hosted by Finn.  #WhosVibing  #MetYourMatch.”
“Sounds like we’re about to get personal.”  Finn gleefully rubs his hands together.
Dana walks past me and whispers, “I’ll find you in a few minutes.”  Before I can say anything she approaches Suresh and leads him to the firepit.
            What.  The. Actual.  Fuck.
I wander into the kitchen, keeping one eye on Dana and Suresh.  She abruptly jumps up and runs towards me.
            “Hey!”
I lean against the counter.  “So what did you and Suresh talk about?”
“I’ll fill you in.  In private.”
I look over at Suresh still sitting alone by the firepit.  “Um…”
“Your head must be a mess.  But trust me, you need to hear what I’ve got to say.  Let’s head for a chat?”
“Um… I should probably go talk to Suresh. Get it over with, you know?”
“I really think you should hear what he told me first,” Dana insists.  “It might change up how you play things in the Villa.  Quick chat upstairs?”
I cave.  “Alright.  Let’s talk in the bedroom.”
            “Yes!  Let’s go!”
I trail behind Dana as she races upstairs and into the bedroom, feeling slightly overwhelmed by all of her energy.
“Ah!  This is so exciting!”  She points at our beds, our names above them.  “There’s our beds.”
I smile at her enthusiasm.  “For sure.  It’s pretty cool.”
“Ok, we don’t have much time though so let me dish on Suresh.”  She plops down on her bed and motions for me to sit next to her.  She looks around, making sure no one is close by.  “So I might have dug him out a bit.  Told him he shouldn’t be so cocky in his position!”
“No way!”  I flop down on my stomach next to her.  “How did he react?”
“He agreed with me that he was an idiot for cheating on you!”
              I could’ve told him that.
“He told me you got serious super quick.  And that wasn’t like him.  He said the intense connection you had made him want to commit to you.  But then he said something about a bust up and getting spooked and acting out.”
I feel my eyebrows draw together in confusion.  “A fight?  Right before he cheated?”
“That’s what he said.”  She shrugs.
“Oh.”  I wrack my brain, trying to remember what he’s talking about.  But try as I might I can’t remember a fight, not even a slight tiff, in the weeks before he cheated.  “Did he say anything else?”
“He said something about needing to figure out where your head’s at.”
“Anything about where his head’s at?”
Dana rolls her eyes.  “That’s when he got all vague and mysterious.  Said he needs to speak with you about that.”
I sigh heavily and cover my face with my hands. “This is a lot.”
“I know!  Are you still attracted to him?”
“I mean, he’s still gorgeous.  But how am I supposed to ever trust him again after everything he put me through?  My head’s all over the place.”
“I’d be the exact same.”  Dana pats my hand.  “You’re gonna work it out though.  You handled the whole situation like a boss from what I heard.  Did you really just move out while he was at work without telling him?”
“I found out he cheated in the morning before he went to the office.  Right after he left, a few of my friends came over and helped me pack up my stuff.  I was on a plane to Louisiana before he even knew what was going on.”  I smile slyly.  “And I took the cat.”
She whoops and high-fives me.  “That’s badass.  Anyone would be lucky to have you as their boyfriend.  Trust me, I’ve got a good eye.”  She gives me a flirty smile and looks as if she wants to say something, but quickly moves on.  “How are you gonna play it with Suresh then?”
I turn my head to look at her.  “How would you play it?”
“I’d cut loose and put him in his place,” she says firmly.  “What are you thinking?”
“For now I think we should just try to make sure we can stay civil.  I don’t want to ruin anybody else’s time in the Villa just because Suresh and I are fighting.”
                 “That’s a good idea.”
“Thanks for checking in on me, Dana.  This was really sweet of you.”
“I’m here for you.  And you’re way more ready to deal with Suresh now.  It feels good to have a friend in the Villa.”
“For sure.  I’m going to go talk to Suresh now.  I’ll tell you everything he says after.”
The minute we wander back into the garden Kat comes rushing up to both of us.  “Oh my days, I need in on the goss now!”  She notices Suresh starts approaching us.  “He’s coming over!  Where’s your head at with him?”
I stare at her blankly.  “Don’t you need to be humping Finn’s leg or something?”
Suresh touches my arm before she has a chance to snap back.  “Babe, we’re about to get thrown into the fire, but first I need to talk…”
“You already had your chance.  We need our time right now, Suresh,” Kat breaks in.
“Get that, Kat. But this is between me and my ex.”
Dana tugs on Kat’s arm. “Let’s give them a minute.”
“But I don’t want to -” Kat yelps as Dana drags her away.
I follow Suresh as he leads me over to the daybeds and takes a seat.  I remain standing.  “What did you want to talk about?” I mumble, picking at my cuticles for the third time this morning.  One starts to bleed a bit.
Suresh reaches out and tenderly clasps my hands in his much larger ones.  “You’re going to hurt yourself,” he says softly.
“Doesn’t matter.”  I shrug.  “Not like it can hurt worse than what you did to me.”
He releases my hands and sighs, leaning back on the daybed.  “Seeing you again like this has my head spinning all over the place.”
“I was surprised to see you.”
He chuckles.  “I bet.  I didn’t know what to say when you looked over at me.  Except that you look unreal in that outfit.”
I shake my head in disbelief.
“I mean it,” he insists. “But aren’t you hot in those long sleeves?”  He reaches out to touch the hem of my shirt.
“Don’t touch me!” I exclaim, and rapidly back away from him, distressed.
His eyes widen and he placatingly holds up his hands.  “Ok.  I won’t, I’m sorry.”
“Why are you even here, Suresh?”  I go to pull my hair back, only to frown when I realize I don’t have a hair tie.
“Here.”  Suresh pulls a scrunchie out of his swim trunks and hands it to me.
“You remembered,” I murmur, turning it over in my hands.
“How could I forget?”  He smiles sadly.  “How many times did I have to help you untangle the regular elastics from your hair?  And you always forgot to bring one with you, so I got into the practice of carrying one with me all the time.  Habit stuck.”
A flood of emotion threatens to choke me, and I pull my hair back in silence.
“Truthfully, I’m here because the producers scouted me.  Beautiful island, swanky villa, hot people… I thought it’d be a chance to have some fun.  But when they told me you were going to be here too, it felt like fate, you know?  A second chance to put things right one way or the other.”  Suresh gazes at me intensely.  “Look, I know I was mainly to blame for how things went wrong between us.”
“Mainly?”  Equal parts hurt and anger creep into my voice.
“I messed up. Badly,” he admits.  “But there are two sides to every story.”
I stare at him, gobsmacked.  Tears begin to track down my cheeks and I wipe them away with the sleeve of my shirt, mortified that I’ve let him see me cry.  “I didn’t cheat,” I whisper.  “You did. I don’t see how there are two sides to that.”
“No... baby… don’t cry.”  Suresh stands and moves to take me in his arms.  I shake my head wildly and back away from him.
“Everybody to the pool!” Vanessa shouts.
Thankful for the distraction I hurry to join the others, hoping they won’t notice my red eyes.  I hang to the back of the group, trying to make myself as small as possible so I don’t get too close to Suresh.
Vanessa stands in front of us, a slightly evil grin on her face.  Ethan is next to her, looking miserable.  “We’ve scheduled our couples quiz for later this afternoon, but to give you a fighting chance we’re going to let you all watch each other’s initial interview tapes.  You all got a chance to look at each other’s headshots, so we’ll get to hear about your first impressions of each other, along with some personal details. Let’s inside and get started!”
All the other Islanders follow after her like ducklings trailing their mother, buzzing with nerves and excitement.  I grab the sleeve of Ethan’s jacket as he walks by and pull him close.
“What is she talking about?  I didn’t get to see any of the others’ pictures when I did my opening interview.”
“I know.”  Ethan sighs and scuffs his shoe against the grass. “Vanessa left you out on purpose.”

LITG Sims Season 2
Tumblr media
Welcome to Love Island Sims Season 2!!
This season we are starting off with Lottie, Lily, Priya, Elladine, Erikah, Kassam, Tim, Reese, Levi, and Camilo. I’ve started an entirely new game, so repeat characters have clean slates. I used my spinner app to choose my lineup; it’s entirely random.
I didn’t start with full autonomy this time. That way I was able to line up my boys by the pool and bring out the girls one-by-one to meet one boy at a time, before coupling based on their relationship bars. I made each girl have a very brief conversation with each boy and rolled the dice to choose a different romantic interaction for each boy to throw back.
Lily went first. She didn’t make a romantic spark and stood next to Levi based on a slightly higher friendship bar. Can’t blame her.
Elladine went second. She made a spark with Kassam when he offered her a rose, and stood next to him.
Erikah went third. Tim and Camilo both offered her roses, and Kassam caught her off guard with a bold pickup line. She connected with all three and had a harder decision to make than the first two girls. The love bars all looked the same but Camilo’s friendship bar was a little higher so she stood with him.
Lottie went forth. I had her try a gloomy interaction on Kassam to see if they’d bond over the shared trait, but she just made Kassam sad and it hurt their friendship bar. Kassam tried flirting with her and it didn’t spark anything, but it didn’t hurt either. Reese got to her with a sexy pose, and Tim did with a flirtatious joke. They had identical love bars, so she stood next to Tim who had a higher friendship bar.
Finally, Priya came out. Reese, Camilo, and Levi ALL asked her risqué questions, which she did not appreciate. (What the hell, guys?) Kassam tried to flirt with her, still sad, and failed. Tim complimented her appearance, and didn’t offend her, but they didn’t connect either. She had the highest friendship bar with Tim, so she stepped next to him in place of Lottie, who repositioned herself next to Reese, her second choice.
Tumblr media
Suddenly, a sixth girl appeared. It was Blake. Kassam gave her his earbuds because he was still too sad to flirt effectively, but she didn’t like them. She gave him a rose in return, but he didn’t like it. Both interactions lost heart points. Levi did a sexy pose for her, and she flirted back without command. They connected. They wanted to keep talking, but she moved down the line. Eventually she came back to him, leaving Lily on her own. I turned on full autonomy as soon as they finished coupling. It was 7am. We had started at 11am the day previous. Oy.
Our first couples of Love Island Sims Season 2 are:

PLEASE! PLEASE! Hear me out!
Please write a scenario about how Lewie met MC in one of his games but didn't get a chance to ask her name after his game because he lost her in the crowd or something. Then he finally met her again at the villa. Cause that sweet golden retriever boy fell in love with Mc the moment he saw her in the villa, and he is like all in on her already??? Like how is that possible??!
Thank youuu🤍✨🥺

SHOOT YOUR SHOT
Lewie / OC - 4100+ words - @mrsbsmooth
She was screaming his name, but he lost her in the crowd. He's not letting her disappear again.
Tumblr media
Lewie jumped up and down on the spot with the other guys in the tunnel, waiting to run onto the pitch. He was first. He was always first. He was the bloody captain, he had to be first. Project confidence. Project leadership. Cool, calm, collected.
But he was nervous today.
If they won today, they’d go up to League One. He’d triple his salary, minimum, probably quadruple it if Terry kept him on as captain. He’d be able to pay off his parents’ house in three months. His life would change if they won today.
Mac clapped him on the back. “Good?”
“Mostly,” Lewie responded, swallowing hard.
“Ahh, none of that,” Mac grinned. “S’just a game, innit?”
Lewie wished he could laugh at it. He stretched his neck as the doors opened. He took the hand of the player escort kid next to him who looked almost as nervous as he did.
Game time.
Cup finals were always packed, but Lewie had never heard a roar like the one he heard as he stepped onto the pitch that day. It was a wall of sound, almost making him flinch as he dropped the kid’s hand, gave him a high five, and took his position.
Lewie was breathing as steadily as he could, but he couldn’t shake the nerves from his shoulders. It felt like a noose had tied itself around him. What if they lost? What if they didn’t get promoted? How many more years did he have in this league? He was already 24. If he didn’t go up this year, his chances of ever going higher were starting to get slim. He’d never pay off his parents’ house. He’d never provide for his nieces and nephew.
The stands were a sea of red. He tried to focus on the green beneath his feet. But his eye was caught by a flash of white amongst the red.
“Lewie! Lewie! Hey! Over here!”
A big group of girls, head to toe in white, chanting and screaming and clearly drinking. They were right behind the goal. But as soon as they realised they had his attention, they began squealing.
And then, he saw the sign.
A huge piece of cardboard. Two words.
An arrow pointing to its holder.
MRS PRITCHARD
Lewie laughed, almost throwing his head back as he beamed at the girls. They started jumping up and down, screaming with excitement that he’d seen them. He was too far away to see them up close. He just turned his attention back to the pitch, still laughing. The whistle blew. The crowd screamed. The match began. And honestly?
He was feeling a bit better.
The match started the way all matches do. Slowly. Sussing each other out, no-one wiling to give away their game plan too quickly. He focused on the game with every shred of brainpower he had, and he was having a bit of a blinder, if he did say so himself. He barely missed a thing, ending up right where he needed to be as his team edged closer and closer to the box.
Levi passed him the ball, and Lewie beat three defenders to get it to Mac, but as Mac took the shot, the ball bounced off the crossbar. The crowd groaned, and the team in blue took possession. Gary forced them over the sideline, and Lewie sprinted back to position. But play had stopped. One of the opposing players was stalling, pretending Gary had kicked him.
“Lewwwwwie! Lewwwwwie!”
He chuckled, rolling his eyes. He was a little closer to where the girls had been. He placed his hands on his hips, to catch his breath, glancing over at them again, and once more, they screamed. Mrs Pritchard held up her sign again.
But this time, he could see the girl holding it.
And he did a fucking double take.
He was still a ways away, but even from this distance, he felt his eyebrows shooting up.
Soft, dark waves, a bit of a tan but a lot of a smile, the enormous, excited grin drawing a smile from him, too. White trousers so tight they looked like leggings, and their team’s white away jersey tied into a crop at the front. She must have been freezing, but she looked like she was keeping herself plenty warm by jumping up and down as she beamed at him.
Damn.
“I love you, Lewie!” she screamed, sending a chuckle through the dozens of fans around her. He took a deep breath, and laughed it off, shooting her an amused smile.
Play resumed. Unfortunately, most of it was down the other end of the field. But now, he had even more reason to get the ball up to his team’s end.
Every time he even came close to the group of girls, they erupted into a wall of noise, and not just for him. They were almost louder than the rest of the crowd combined, and when Lewie bent the ball right into Mac’s boot, they screamed so loud he was sure their voices would give out. But Mac missed again.
Fuck. Nil-all at half time.
The team made their way into the locker rooms. Lewie laughed off all the comments from his teammates about what the hell was going on. He honestly had no idea who these girls were or why they’d suddenly decided to show up to scream for the team, but he wasn’t complaining, and neither was anyone else.
“D’you see the sign?” Gary laughed.
“Yeah,” Lewie shook his head, sighing.
“Did you see the stunner holding it?” Levi flicked an eyebrow.
The locked room fell silent. Lewie sighed even harder. “Yes, I did.”
Wa-heyyys echoed off the walls, and Lewie, one more time, shook his head. He glanced over at Mac, but he wasn’t paying attention. He was taking deep breaths, focusing.
“Hey,” Lewie said, sitting next to him. “You good?”
Mac grunted with annoyance, relacing his boots for the second time.
Lewie sighed. “It’s only half time.”
“And I’ve already missed twice.”
“Yeah, and you can miss five more times, as long as we hold them to zero as well. This game doesn’t rest on your shoulders, mate. If it did, Terry would’ve taken you out already.”
Mac furrowed his brow.
“I mean you have missed twice already,” Lewie teased. “It’s a big goal. Just kick it in?”
Mac huffed a laugh, elbowing him hard in the arm. “Fuck off.”
Lewie lowered his voice, smiling reassuringly at his best mate. “Get out of your head. It’s just a game, remember?”
Mac nodded, taking a deep breath and giving him a brief smile of thanks. “So you really don’t know those girls?” Mac asked, shifting the focus off himself.
“No,” Lewie said, shaking his head. “Never seen a single one of them before.”
Mac’s mouth curled into a smirk. “Bet you might be seeing one of ‘em after, though?”
Lewie rolled his eyes, but couldn’t hide his smile. “I mean, she’s really shooting her shot.”
“With a fuckin’ Gatlin Gun. She’s comin’ on strong.”
Lewie laughed loudly. “Since when is that a bad thing?”
It wasn’t a question that needed an answer. The hint of a smirk on Mac’s face was now in full swing. Lewie didn’t mind a girl who went after what she wanted. He didn’t mind that at all.
“So you’re gonna go for it?”
Lewie shrugged. “I mean, she likes footie, she’s pretty, and she’s got a big sign saying ‘I’m interested’. It can’t hurt to get her number?”
Tumblr media
The second half started, and Lewie frowned as he looked towards what was now the opposing team’s goal. The girls would be all the way up the other–
“Lewie! Over here babe!”
They’d moved.
He didn’t know how they’d managed, but they’d moved. The entire group of them were now at the other end of the pitch, behind the swapped goal ends. He smiled, shooting the pretty brunette a small wave, and she pretended to swoon and faint into her friend’s arms.
He belly laughed at that one.
The match resumed, and if he’d thought they were playing well before, the second half had the team electrified. Lewie and Mac passed the ball back and forth without even looking, falling into muscle-memory and pure instincts as they did what they’d done since they were seven. Back, forward, time it right, bit of feigning, more than a bit of fancy footwork, and with every possession, they edged closer down to their end.
Sixtieth minute, then seventieth, then eightieth. Nil-all. Lewie passed the ball to Kobi, who headed it to Mac– Intercepted. A bad pass, but not the end of the world. The ball went out, leaving the Reds with a corner. The others set up. Lewie moved backwards.
But first, another time-wasting injury meant to kill their momentum.
It was a tactic from the opposing team. It was meant to lower their adrenaline levels and catch them slow. The waterboy ran onto the field, tossing him a bottle. Lewie took a big gulp of gatorade, swishing it around his mouth. He needed to keep his adrenaline levels up. He–
“Hey Lewie!” a familiar voice called.
He looked up. His brunette beauty’s arms were in front of her.
Her shirt wasn’t.
She was lifting it. She’d tucked her fingers under her bra, and flipped the whole thing up.
She was flashing him. And she was not being shy about it.
He spat gatorade all over the pitch.
Her rather fucking magnificent breasts were fully on display, and the crowd erupted with cheers, but no sooner had she done it, her friends were squealing with laughter and tugging her shirt down to cover her, but they weren’t quick enough. His eyes fell across her body, to the stunningly intricate tattoo painted across her ribcage.
A red Welsh dragon.
Lewie could hardly breathe, coughing and spluttering gatorade as he tried very hard to remain cool, calm, and collected. But it was a bit hard to look any of the three when he could already feel himself furiously blushing.
The other guys on the pitch were laughing their arses off at him, and he couldn’t help but join in. He’d never had attention like this before. He’d never been so ferociously and aggressively hit on, especially not while he was on the bloody pitch.
He did not mind one fucking bit.
She pulled her shirt down, and as she adjusted herself, her eyes didn’t leave his. She raised her eyebrows. And even though they were still a dozen metres apart, he could almost hear it in his ear.
Your move.
He held her gaze for a second, smiling in disbelief and shaking his head with a laugh. That was definitely the adrenaline rush he needed. He rubbed his hand on the back of his neck, still blushing furiously, and she beamed at how flustered he was.
But before he could do anything, his attention was drawn by the referee’s whistle calling the game back into action. Lewie shot her a wink as he reluctantly jogged back to position. He was definitely getting her number after the game.
But he never got a chance.
Things suddenly picked up pace, and he didn’t have an opportunity to look back in her direction. He could hear screaming and yelling, but he was down the other end of the pitch, defending his heart out as the other team got close to scoring twice in seven minutes. But they held them off.
It was the eighty-fourth minute.
The lads bent over, their hands on their knees, puffing and panting as if they’d just run a marathon.
It was a sign. It was time.
They got possession, and Lewie called the code they’d practiced for months. They’d pretend to be exhausted. To be slow, and late, and unfit. Let the other team think that this was everything they had to give. Lull them into a false sense of security.
With seemingly no warning, a red jersey and a sharp undercut went sprinting at breakneck speed down the pitch. The defenders fell for it and gave chase, sprinting after Levi as he took the ball as fast as he could down the field.
They barely paid attention to Lewie moving out wide to the left flank.
Levi to Kobi. Kobi to Levi. Levi to Kobi. Kobi to Mac. Mac to Levi. Levi to Mac to Kobi to Mac. The defenders were focused. Completely focused. Lewie came sprinting up the left of the box, holding level to stay onside–
Mac to Lewie.
The ball was in the goal before the defenders even looked in his direction.
The crowd exploded, no one more than Mac, who took a running leap into the air to tackle Lewie to the ground. The guys screamed and yelled in his ear, celebrating along with the shaking grandstands. 12,000 people chanting his name. It was like something out of a daydream. Something he’d pretended and practiced as he ran drills in his backyard.
‘Pritchard! Pritchard may have just taken them to promotion!’
He should’ve looked for Mum. Or Dad. Nana or Izzie or Josie or Teagan. His mates were here. His bloody under-10’s coach was probably here. But his gaze drifted back over to the area right behind the goal where the group of girls in white had been. Call it curiosity about what she’d do. If she’d flashed him over a decent pass–
She was gone.
He furrowed his brow as he looked at the part of the stands that had previously held the pretty brunette and all her friends, but they were gone. Completely vanished, all of them, the only evidence they’d ever been there was a white feather boa flung over the back of one of the chairs. Lewie shook it off. Maybe they’d gone to get drinks?
But there were only ten minutes left in the match.
Mac scored again, and Lewie looked around to see if he could see any of the girls in white, but all he saw was that same sea of red.
The final whistle blew: 2-0.
They were going up. Their team had been promoted.
The grandstands erupted even louder than they had for the goals. The air itself was shaking with noise. Lewie was so caught up in hugging his teammates that he barely realised fans had  started streaming onto the pitch.
He was passed around between lifelong supporters he’d already come to know, and many he hadn’t. His shirt was grabbed, his back patted, his hair ruffled and his arms locked to his sides as he was picked up ad squeezed with surprising force. A beer was pushed into his hand, and he threw it back without a slight hesitation. He was so wrapped up in their victory that he almost forgot to keep an eye out for a group of girls in white.
Almost.
He wasn’t the tallest on the pitch, but he was taller than most, but he still couldn’t see them.
He answered questions for the local paper, he posed for photos, he accepted the cup on behalf of the team and made the heartfelt, grateful speech he never thought he’d get to give, but he didn’t stop looking.
She wasn’t there. Neither were her friends.
It made no sense.
He couldn’t wrap his head around why she’d do all that and just leave.
But, as the confetti settled, the music started to wane, and the celebrations spilled into the locker room, Lewie realised.
She had.
She’d just left.
It took him a while to get over it. Like, way longer than it should’ve.
The guys made fun of him for it, obviously. “Way to Lewie’s heart is to ask him to marry you, then flash him your tits’. They were wrong– of course they were, that would’ve been insane.
There had just been something about her.
It wasn’t that he wanted to date a girl who regularly flash an entire stadium, but there was something about the confidence something like that would need. A risk taker. A joker. Up for a laugh and down for a dare. Someone who made a point of having fun with her friends. Someone who liked footie. Someone who wasn’t afraid to scream his name, to show up to his games and let everyone know she was there for him.
He’d never realised how attractive that was to him.
In fact, he kind of couldn’t stop thinking about it.
He tried asking the ticketing office about them, but one of the girls had shown up in person three weeks before and paid for the seats in cash. There was no name attached. None of the guys recognised them either, so they must’ve been from out of town. How they ended up in Northern Wales for a football match at a bachelorette party was both beyond him, and devastating that he might never get to even find out her name.
He’d been lying in bed one night when he suddenly figured it out.
The next morning, he’d dropped by the security office before training. It’d been weeks, but he was sure they’d remember her. He was sure that was why. It had to be why.
The Security team had, in fact, kicked Mrs. Pritchard and her entire friend group out of the stadium, but they’d just handed the girls over to the police. They hadn’t taken names. Lewie had nodded, and wrote down the number of the officer that took them in.
But he’d never gotten the chance.
Mac had walked past and seen him waiting in the freezing cold for the Security team to arrive, and he immediately staged an intervention. And that intervention involved the entire team making it their business to set him up on dates.
Normally, he didn’t mind dating. Even if he didn’t have a connection with the girl, he’d enjoy taking them out for dinner, getting to know them, asking them about themselves– it was nice.
But now, there was a question mark over it.
Would this be the type of girl who’d come to his games and scream his name? The kind of girl who’d shoot her shot in front of all her friends and 12,000 strangers? Did the girl across the table from him have that kind of confidence?
And for every girl his mates set him up with, the answer was no.
Tumblr media
It was a year later his mates told him what they’d done.
He didn’t think about her as often any more. He’d been on a few nice dates since.
But he still thought about her.
He’d kept his searching low-key. He didn’t have much of a social media presence, and for once, he almost regretted not having one. One Instagram DM from one of her friends girls could’ve solved the mystery for him. But even after he set up a profile, that DM never came. He wasn’t one for dating apps, but he’d kicked himself a few months later when he’d realised he might’ve been able to swipe right on her if he’d set one up that day.
But he didn’t think about her as much any more.
The day his phone rang, he’d thought it was a prank. ITV calling him to bring him in for an interview for Love Island. He hadn’t even applied– which surprised them, because they apparently had a long and very detailed application form, with many, many pictures of him shirtless in the locker rooms at training. Fucking Mac.
Terry thought it’d be a good idea. Good promo for his personal brand. Good publicity for the club. Levi threw a fit. He’d wanted to go on Love Island for years, and Terry had always said no.
“Yeah, but Lewie’s not gonna put our entire Public Relations team on stress leave,” Terry had said. The guys had all laughed.
Mac grinned with his hands behind his head. “Nah, he’s just gonna get on TV so that he can subtly communicate his beloved flasher he’s willing to put a ring on it.”
Lewie huffed.
The guys laughed a lot harder at that.
Tumblr media
So, two months after that, he stood just inside the Majorca villa with three other guys, waiting to go and pick a girl out of a lineup as if they were picking footy teams at lunch in primary. He was glad to be the one picking. Because this time, he wasn’t the only 8-year-old who could do a scorpion kick. If there was a scorpion-kick equivalent in dating, he didn’t know what it was, and he definitely didn’t know how to do it.
He just knew footie.
It wasn’t in his nature to go after a girl unless he knew for sure she was interested. He knew footie, but he didn’t know dating. Maybe that was why he’d been so drawn to Mrs Pritchard. He’d never even met her and he’d known where he stood.
His phone chimed, and his eyes widened. He was going first.
He took a step forward, placing his hand on the door handle, trying to breathe. The likelihood of one of them holding up a sign for him saying ‘I’m interested’ seemed a lot less likely here than–
Than…
The villa door opened, and suddenly, he was in the league final all over again. He knew that in the memory, there was 12,000 people screaming his name. Screaming for his team.
But all he could see was her. Caramel waves. Tan skin. A smile wide enough to take down a grandstand.
A red Welsh dragon painted across her ribcage.
He stopped at the top of the stairs, his mouth falling open in sync with hers. But instead of screaming and jumping up and down, she furiously blushed and dropped her eyes. Lewie made his way over to stand beside the host, smiling politely at the other girls, but there was no need to make small talk.
“So, ladies, this is Lewie. 24, Football captain from Wales. Lewie, let me introd–”
“No need,” he smiled. “I already know who I’m picking.”
There was an interested smattering of whispers, but he walked forward.
The stunning brunette was blushing something awful, and she didn’t look up at him until he was standing right in front of her.
“Hi,” he said.
She looked up, meeting his eyes, and smiled sheepishly.
“I didn’t think you’d remember me.”
“Bit hard to forget someone I’ve barely stopped thinking about, Mrs. Pritchard.”
Her breath caught, but he didn’t take his eyes off her. That pink dusted across her cheeks was unlike anything he’d ever seen before. The most beautiful orchid-pink, painting her like watercolours across her cheeks and the tip of her nose, and it was him that put it there. He suddenly kind of understood how she’d had the confidence to shoot her shot like she had.
Lewie reached for her hand and she gave it to him. He linked their fingers together.
“Can I pick you?” he asked.
“Yes, please,” she grinned.
“Well, then, you’re gonna have to tell me your name.”
She smiled. “Bree. My name is Bree.”
“I’m Lewie.”
“I know.”
Lewie turned back to the host, smiling widely. “I’m picking Bree.”
Bree smiled so widely that he wondered if she might break. The urge to just pick her up and kiss her was one he had to push down. It would’ve been way too forward, and he probably would’ve come on way too strong. Going all in for a girl fifteen minutes into filming beginning was the stupidest strategic move he could possibly make.
The other girls cooed as he stood beside her, waiting for the next guy to come out, and one by one, they paired off with the other girls, until finally, the host said goodbye.
Bree immediately turned to him.
“I saw you, by the way,” she whispered.
He furrowed his brow.
“Your goal. I saw you score it. And I saw you look for me. I was being dragged out by security at the time, but I always wished I could've told you that I saw it.”
He studied her face for a moment, watching the sparkle in her eyes; the light catch in her hair, the way it had that chilly May afternoon. The urge to kiss her was back. The urge to pull her into his arms and wrap her up in them and not let her out of his fucking sight ever again. He wished he was bold enough. He wished he had the confidence she’d had. He just… He…
Fuck it.
Lewie captured her chin in his hand, and in one swift movement, he’d pressed his lips to hers. There were excited laughs, and knew the eyes of the entire villa were on him, but he didn’t care.
Because Bree was kissing him back.
She threw her hand around the back of his neck, splaying her fingers on the back of his head, deepening the kiss as she pulled herself into his chest. Leaning over the top of her, she fit him perfectly, like he’d kind of always known she would.
He’d found her. He’d finally found her.
He wasn’t letting her go again.

Week 8: Hometowns
(Read Weeks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 here.)
Tumblr media
Dracula and Marisol kicked off Hometowns Week with a date in Brindleton Bay. They met at a bar on the pier where they chatted and kissed.
Tumblr media
They sat outside having an amorous, steamy exchange, and Dracula enthused about Marisol's family.
"I'm a little nervous," he admits, "but I'm excited to meet them. Many people think it doesn't matter if you're a vampire and your in-laws are mortal, but we don't abandon our families the way we were forced to in the past. Whomever I marry, her family will be in our lives for a while, and they will help support her in her transitions. And who knows? There's always the potential for them to become Vampire as well. Solidarity matters here. I feel very compatible with Marisol, and I hope they see what I see." "Today's the day," announces Marisol. "Honestly, I thought I would be more excited, but I'm having some mixed feelings. I'm nervous about introducing an evil vampire to my family, yes, but more so that they won't understand us or approve. Are we really compatible? Today will be very important... to squash some doubts."
Tumblr media
After their date, Marisol headed to her family home to tell them about Dracula before he arrived to introduce himself. He met her mother, Daniela, her father, Martin, her grandfather, Jorge, and her teen sister, Angelina.
Tumblr media
The group chatted, and then the women left the room to talk privately while Angelina made dinner...
Tumblr media
...and Martin and Jorge interrogated Dracula.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After a group dinner, Marisol, Jorge and Martin excused themselves to chat privately. Dracula, Daniela and Angelina did the same, and had an unpleasant conversation in which Daniela evangelized vegetarianism, offending Dracula and embarrassing herself.
Tumblr media
At the end of the night, Marisol walked Dracula out, he fed from her wrist, and they kissed.
"Today could have gone better, but it could have gone worse," Dracula reflects. "Her grandfather was weird, and mean. Her mom is completely in dreamland. Even though she apologized, her comment left a bad taste in my mouth... which is the least of what a vegetable would do, by the way. I did enjoy Angelina and Martin. Vampires don't always make good first impressions, but I've proven throughout this journey that we grow on sims. So I'm hopeful." "I'm not sure I expected today to go any better than it did," concurs Marisol. "I'm glad he got along with Pá and Ang, but he still needs to gain Pá's trust just like he did mine. Ang thinks he's admirable. Mamá was awkward, and Abue was tough, but they both found Drac proper and polite. So maybe that will rub off on Pá. I'm optimistic."
