I do feel sorry for Louis because I think he suffers from internalised homophobia from growing up in Doncaster where he would have witnessed his peers being bullied for being gay. Unlike Harry who has two gay managers, gay band members, support acts and close friends like Alessandro who are gay, Louis is largely isolated from his community as an adult especially when he's touring.

I disagree with you that Louis suffers from internalised homophobia. I think you are reading this all wrong and like the gp would. I've talked about this before too.

Louis probably grew up in a place where gay was used as a slur by kids, that i agree with. However, when Louis moved to London i think that was very freeing for him and he blossomed. Louis is proud of being gay and proud of his relationship with Harry. Louis has a triangle tattoo ffs, and half his tattoos is complementary to H's tattoos. He was behind the bears too. He sings i love him i hate it and has songs about holding H at an Ed Sheeran concert. He's bathing his fans in rainbow lights at his concerts.

The reasons why it might seem like he's suffering from internalised homophobia is because he is harshly closeted. Probably one of the worst cases of unwillingly closeted in history. Believe me, if he had a choice he'd be out and proud. Both him and Harry has been banging on the closet door for years wanting out. It hasn't been as visible these last few years perhaps, but he does what he can to tell us who he really is. You just need to look past the surface and his constructed het image to see he's gay and closeted. I don't neccessarily think Louis would be the poster child for gay men when he's out and go to pride etc, but that doesn’t mean he isn't proud of who he is and hasn't accepted he's gay.

I think Louis is close to his childhood friends, and they know about him and H and support him. Louis doesn’t have as many public friendships with queers, that's true, but then again he's more harshly closeted than H is. He is being kept from his community, but that's due to his closet. He does have queer openers and he does have queer members on his touring team, but i get what you mean.

Louis' public twitter account has been one of the most important tools for closeting him. People think it's him tweeting and it has a wide reach. It's easy, because it's low effort and high reward. You hide behind a screen and you don’t have to stunt or say anything on camera where the lies can easily be detected. It's super effective and to the point. You can gaslight the fuck out of people. You get the narrative you want out there. Everything that "Louis" says on twitter shouldn't be trusted. Same with things in printed interviews.

It's a fight to look behind all the bullshit and gaslighting they throw at us, but don't let them fool you into thinking he's an insecure, scared man who hasn't yet accepted he's gay and isn't proud of it. That's simply not true.

this +  - glorifying drugs and alcohol (+ acting like a 15-year-old who’s just discovered weed and alcohol by talking about it all the time as if it makes him look cool) - pretending like pop is bad when most of his album is pop - saying his friends would make fun of him for having a skincare --> having toxic friends, are we supposed to believe he’s like them? - pretending he hates “posh” things - pretending he only eats garbage food - pretending he doesn’t do any sport when he clearly does (he has great body/endurance) - just his whole pickme girl attitude - choosing his worst song as a single and saying it’s for the fans bc he just believes we have no taste in music (the same way he says he needs transitional songs to make his fans used to his new sound as if we only listen to pop) - letting his son be brought up by trump supporters and saying he only cooks cheesy pasta for his sons when he could hire a chef and give him access to healthy meals - being proud of his roots but only bringing his son to the UK two times - never mentioning his girlfriend but writing songs about missing his ex - saying he doesn’t make music for radio or to be mainstream, he just makes real music, but then pushing to get a #1 as soon as he has a chance showing he does care about it all - only working with white men (his album credits, his band, his entourage, his team) - wanting to be “punk” but never being political and taking a very boybandy stance on everything meaning never talking about important topics that would go against the establishment - only supporting white male bands - lying about his luxurious life just to seem relatable which is starting to be insulting to people who actually don’t have lots of money - him dumbing himself down by being cryptic but then saying things like “a wall is a wall” or that there’s no meaning behind anything he does - when asked about a political issue saying he would legalize weed just to appear cool when his home country (who he says he cares about) is going to shit

Disclaimer again: I don’t think that’s who he is but I’m starting to get annoyed that he apparently thinks this is what people wants to be a fan of in the year 2022.

On the topic of the future of Louis’ relationships: I think something people are forgetting is that Louis and Eleanor are real people who grow and change as they get older, whether or not their relationship is real. Right now it seems like they are frozen in time and are still the same public personas that they were in 2014-15. But, they aren’t. Louis may hope to keep this situation status who for a long time, but Eleanor at some point and probably sooner rather than later, is going to want to publicly move on (because she can with very little recourse) and make a life with a real partner (Jelani? who knows…) but this can’t go on forever. Will Louis get a new “girlfriend” then?

Yes. They do seem frozen in time it seems. To me it feels like Louis wants to slowly rid himself of everything that’s not real, so even though Eleanor is easy to maintain and not a pain in the arse to him anymore, you’re right, she’ll want to move on (publicly) soon enough.

I don’t think that Louis would get another beard, he’d just withdraw more from the public eye I think. “Stay more private” and not use his private life for publicity as much. The direction artistically hes headed into, the more indie, alternative route doesn’t rely as much on the gossip mags as they do in pop. So I can see him just… not share as much publicly anymore.

Why do antis think that closeted people don't exist? I noticed that the ones who argue that Harry and Louis are straight also think that everyone else is straight. Is it because that by acknowledging there are closeted people they are acknowledging that Harry and Louis could be closeted and that is a threat to their het fantasies so they pretend closeted people don't exist. I'd also like to mention to your anon that Billie said she was straight many times and is now out as queer, and Kit also previously said he was straight.... like many now out queer people, so wow...... celebrities can lie just like everyone else. I think it's a combination of them wanting their idol to live up to their het fantasies, not believing they would lie to their fans and a heavy portion of gaslighting. If they're gay they won't marry or sleep with you, have babies with you and a white picket fence. They need them to be straight for selfish reasons. Or they're just down right homophobic, but i think that's rarely the main reason why.

It's also about your idol lying to you. He said he's straight so we must believe him, because my idol wouldn't lie to me. He loves his fans. I can't be a fan of someone who led me astray and made me believe we could get married. He sang songs about loving women. I belived his emotional delivery.

And they're gaslighted by the artist in combination with the media. The media tells you what you're supposed to see. "Harry Styles looks loved up on romantic bike ride", "Shawn Mendes looks smitten as he tanned on the beach with his new flame". They might actually look dead on their feet and annoyed and people will gush over them.

At what point are we going to have the conversation about louis and his possible alcohol problem?

Another anon here, I don’t necessarily agree with what you said about the GP not being involved. It would be extremely weird for anyone to stop being a parent to a kid they supposedly raised for 6+ years just because they’re not blood related. The whole “he’ll always have my support” would just make Louis look like a complete dickhead in a context where he’s supposed to care deeply for the child (and in which there’s been a push in terms of public interactions with him). Would you personally stop parenting your six years old child if you found out there’s been a mix up at the hospitals and they’re not your actual biological kid? I know I wouldn’t, as wouldn’t most people.

We all know Louis wouldn’t, if he had been the real father to Freddie he currently is claiming to be.

That’s the whole point. All of the bbg pushing and ending it is for the fans not the GP. For the gp and interviews he could just politely decline answering questions about family, blacklist it and no one would bat an eye, but rather be impressed by how fiercely protective he is.

The GP image is a pure formality. Why do you think they spent 9 months heavy duty bbg pushing “organically” in the fandom while they probably only allocated 6 weeks for the GP image (spoiler alert: that’s one news cycle and attention wave of the GP, after that stuff gets uninteresting and boring.)
