Okay, so if you recall in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, there's this one specific episode called, "Do You Princess Toadstool Take this Koopa...?" where Bowser's mom makes an appearance so that she could see her son marry Peach (and eat the wedding cake afterwards).

Which got me to think about this one interesting question:

If we're assuming that Bowser's mom is canonically alive in the Mario universe, do you think that Bowser's mom would be supportive of her son's relationship with his arch-enemy's brother or do you think she would do everything in her power to try to convince Bowser to dump Luigi and go after Peach instead (assuming that Bowser would be the one to tell her that he's dating Luigi)?

Splatoon AU anyone?

rewatched some HLVRAI and also have been playing a lot of splatoon... so HERE YOU GO ! ! ! more details and some lore under the cut... not too long, I wanna keep some things for future posts ;)

Okay so BASICALLY

Gordon Freshman (wip name lol) is exploring/researching a lost human civilization, one of the last on Earth before all of humanity was wiped out. He finds in one of the buildings various tubes of cryostasis... with a variety of species. Some of the tubes are too frozen over to see inside.

He somehow gets frozen too, and his brain is connected to a virtual network where all the other frozen people reside. The network is pretty nice, but if you ever try to escape, or do something 'wrong', a challenge/test gets thrown at you like in Octo Expansion. Basically, this place is Keeping You Here.

Turns out, Benrey (one of the humans in the colony who froze himself just before the big blast, but the machine malfunctioned and never unfroze him... basically keeping his mind intact, but his body unusable) is the one controlling the place and he's really lonely after... oh... y'know... 10,000 years of isolation... so he's determined to make sure his new friends do not leave.

feel free to ask me anything abt this au ;) ALSO IF ANYONE HAS GOOD NAMES FOR THE CHARS LMK. So far all i got is Gordon Freshman, Bubbles (lol) or Bubbly, and Coomer's name... well... Salmon Names have unusual conventions, but man I'm warring with myself not to call him Doctor Super Punch Out!! For the Nintendo Entertainment System.

“Can you finish the game for me please” Stella spoke softly as she paused her game of suika and held out her Nintendo switch towards Rutger, who was watching her play as he rested his head on her sweater clad shoulder.

Rutger lifted his head off her shoulder and grabbed the switch out of her hands. He hasn't played the game himself, but he's watched Stella play many times before. Stella slipped her feet out of her Ugg slippers and brought her knees to her chest before resting her head on rut’s shoulder.

“Does your head hurt?” Rutger spoke softly, not wanting to get the attention of his teammates that sat in the seats around them or wake up a sleeping and hungover frank who had his head resting against the wall of the plane, Stella sitting in the middle seat. Stella mumbled out a small yes and moved her arm to hold onto his bicep, neither of them had gotten much sleep the night before.

“You're really bad at this, you do understand the concept, right?” Stella sassily whispered as she squeezed Rutgers bicep, Rutger wasn't even paying attention to where he was dropping the fruit and next thing, she knew the box overfilled and he lost. Rutger shuts off Nintendo and leans down to grab the case from her carry-on bag that was next to her shoes, to put it away.

“I’m not bad, I just wanna cuddle with my girl” Rutger winked at Stella as he slid the case back into the bag and leaned back in his seat. Stella lifted up the arm rest and adjusted herself so she could comfortably snuggle into her boyfriend's side without the seat belt digging into her.

“Hmm sure” Stella joked as she snuggled into ruts warm side, his arm wrapping around her shoulder and her head resting on his chest. Rutger rubs his hand up and down Stella's arm, while his other hand pulls out his phone from the front pocket out of his hoodie and goes to Disney+ to pick one of the many movies he and Stella downloaded to watch for the flight.

Rutger set his phone in his lap before he pulled out his air pod case out of his hoodie, holding out the opened case for Stella to grab one. After they both slid the air pod into their ear, he held his phone up so stella could see and pressed play, a smile forming on ruts lips when he looked down his nose to see a grin on stella's face as she realized the movie he picked. Tangled.

The couple watched the movie in silence, and it was only 30 minutes in when Rutger felt Stella's head fully drop on his chest, letting him know she had fallen asleep. Rutger places a few soft kisses on the top of Stella's head before continuing to watch the movie, not wanting to turn it off in case it would disrupt Stella's sleep.

His eyes were on the screen, but his mind was looking back on the memories he had shared with her the night before. A day and night he would never forget.

Chrom propaganda:

“Chrobin (Chrom x player character) is so many tropes in one oml. You have friends-to-lovers (Chrom and Robin are canonically best friends according to Nintendo), enemies-to-lovers (Robin is heir to the Grimleal cult, the enemy of the Halidom of Ylisse which Chrom is the prince, and later king, of), there's amnesia, time travel, official next-gen AUs, changed dialogue to lore important events in the game if you marry Chrom, and Nintendo keeps teasing us with the ship. Cheery prince who knows when to be serious, very strategically smart but very bad at communicating, a guy that can comfort you when you're down, make a fool of himself when you're not around, and he's just generally a very sweet guy. Also please consider the fact that you get to watch a cutscene of him dying in the prologue and despite the horrors he's just so supportive of the protagonist. Chrom doesn't care about where you came from or who you're related to, he cares for YOU. He gets KILLED by the protag and he reassures them that they did nothing wrong and pleads with them to get out, to a safe place. I lost my soul to Chrom, I physically can't play this game without romancing him.”

“He eats oranges with the peel still on, he's an absolute himbo. Also the writers accidentally made his daughter canonically trans so he definitely supports trans rights. And technically you can only marry him if you play as female Robin but their dynamic is still just as romantic if you play as male Robin (they literally call each other their other half and m!Robin and Chrom have a valentine's day duo unit in the gatcha, and in the anthology manga m!Robin asks Chrom to make polygamy legal so he can also marry Chrom's wife and they can be a family) so most people play the game with the gay mod so they can still marry him as a guy. He's incredibly stupid ("yeah, let's set all our ships on fire then walk through a volcano, you're so smart, Robin" "I know you've had prophetic visions about killing me and our daughter came from the future to warn us it would happen but I'm sure THIS TIME it won't because of the power of our bonds") but also really sweet. In the summer DLC they're fighting on a beach and when he sees Robin get excited over a weird creature they found he immediately forgets about the battle and starts trying to make a bunch of crafts (and failing) and cooking food (and failing again) and writing "Chrom and Robin were here" in the sand so that Robin could have some nice beach memories. I'm obsessed with this man”

your step-brother was way too charismatic, touchy, and so kind towards you. you didn't mean to develop feelings but eventually, you ended up wanting more than your current relationship with him.

at night, your thoughts would wander, how would it feel to cuddle with him? to kiss him? to feel his touch all over your sensitive body?— with each fantasy that came to mind, you could feel your body aching.

god, i just wanna be with him you groaned, dragging your hand down your face. it was almost laughable, how much you pined for him, sure, you weren't actually related but fuck, it felt wrong to think about him that way.

you had never felt so frustrated beforehand, unable to do anything about your longing for him. clutching a pillow in your arms — a couch pillow that reeked of his scent — you sighed, feeling the familiar hollow in your chest, still heavy and just as painful as it always was.

at first, it was just admiration, but as time passed, you realised that you had fallen for him. it had dawned on you, just how stupid were you to fall for him? you chuckled, feeling bad for yourself. why would he like you? he only treated you like a sibling, why would he even think of you that way?

a few tears slid down your cheeks, wetting the pillow you held to your chest. for a moment, you truly felt helpless, oh well, at least it'll stay a secret, he doesn't have to know after all you hummed, smiling bitterly.

slipping on your headphones, you decide to drown everything out with music — but instead, your thoughts fill up with even more fantasies, about marrying him and what he would be like as your lover; it filled you with a deep sense of poignance, knowing you could never be with him.

minutes felt like hours, and because you were too caught up in your head, you didn't realise that your brother had finally come home. “i'm home!” he hollered into the quiet home, a quizzical gaze landing on the scattered pair of sneakers beside the entrance. “my, i wonder who left their shoes here?” he chuckled fondly, placing them in the shoe closet along with his own.

stepping into the living room, gold eyes brightened at the sight of you. he stepped closer, furrowing his eyebrows when he realises that you're crying — dropping his briefcase on the carpet, he makes his way to you.

your eyes shoot open when zhongli's hand cups your cheek, glassy e/c ones meeting his worried gaze. “what's wrong? why are you crying?” he asks, dropping to his knees.

wiping away your tears, he caressed the back of your head, pulling you into his embrace. “whatever it is, your big brother will do his best to help alright? are you upset because you lost your nintendo switch? i can buy you a new one don't worry—” “i, it's not that” you whispered, cutting him off.

gently, you pushed him away, smiling at him. “it's not something you should worry about” you responded, looking away from him. his frown deepens, just what on earth happened to you to get you to act like this?

he envelopes one of your hands in both of his own, gazing down at them tenderly. his thumb traced reassuring circles into them, “please tell me, i just want to help you, you matter so much to me so i don't want you struggling with anything” he says, voice fading into a whisper.

minutes pass, and eventually, he takes a seat next to you on the couch, hugging you and rubbing your back. with a soft sigh, you stand up, only for one of your hands to be caught by one of his own. “you haven't told me yet” he persisted, eyes prying for an answer.

“you don't need to know” you snap, yanking your arm away. you rush to your bedroom, him chasing after you and just before you can shut the door, he pushes it open, pressing you against the wall.

his grip on your shoulders is weirdly possessive in a way, tight but not rough enough to leave a mark. “tell me, i'm your big brother, i can help you with anything, please don't shut me out” he pleads, fixated on your every move. your heart skips a beat in your chest when he does, you could practically feel his breath on your face.

your head is downcast, face getting hotter with each second that passed. it seems that he won't budge so you eventually decide to tell him about something else.

“it's just something with a classmate of mine—” “don't lie to me” he warns, eyes dark and piercing into you. a meek whimper slips past your lips, why did he sound mad? you wondered, feeling nervous. you gulp down the saliva building up in your throat, hoping he didn't hear you.

“i, i can't tell you” you replied, voice sounding a bit whiny. zhongli's eyes are half-lidded as he stares down at your small frame, eyebrow gently quirking up, “and why not?” he inquired.

just why was his cute little sibling being so awfully dodgy? did he do anything wrong?, you just had to tell him and he'd do anything to make it right.

“cuz, you'll hate me” you whimper, tears welling up in your pretty eyes. his eyes widen, “oh sweetie, i would never hate you” he cooed, bringing you into his arms. he pats you on the head, trying to soothe you.

“e, even if i love you? romantically?” you whisper, stunning the man. you felt the same? you loved him that way too? god, he could feel his joy bubbling within him. his lips slowly curved up into an uncontrollable smile. slowly, he lifted you into his arms, sitting on the bed with you in his lap. “oh darling, my sweet little darling, i will never hate you because,” he pauses, pulling you in for a gentle kiss that tinted those soft cheeks in a tinge of red he absolutely adored — he chuckled, “i love you like that as well~” he cooed, hands encircling your waist.

a soft and cute little smile graced your face, you were so glad your brother didn't hate you. you kissed him again, shying away with a soft giggle after. “aw don't be shy baby, you're mine now, and i'm yours right? would you like that honey?” he asked with a soft voice. you nodded eagerly, causing the smile on his face to widen.

his cute little sibling was now his darling, he didn't kill off your parents in that accident for nothing. as sickening as it was, he knew he had to have you.

he peppered kisses all over your face, ecstatic to finally have you as his own.

You let out an irritated huff as you tried to get your monstrosity of a ball gown to rest comfortably. It was a lost cause though, the corset was digging in (why they were back in fashion you had no clue, they belonged in the 16th century, not the 21st) and the puffy skirt ruffled loudly with every movement. Your hair was pinned up so tightly that you had a permanent headache and the heels you wore were torturous.

The company around you wasn’t much better. You really wished you were anywhere else than this damned ball. Honestly, you didn’t even need to be at this ball. Yes, it was hosted by your father the king, and yes the main point was for you to socialise and meet potential suitors. But it's not like you’ll actually get to choose your suitor, so your presence wasn’t really required.

So when you got the opportunity you made the excuse that you needed to go to the bathroom and made your escape. As soon as you were out of the heaving ballroom you decided you needed some air before heading back to your bedroom.

Once you stepped outside you kicked off your heels, plucked the tiara from your hair and pulled out the pins to let your hair lie naturally once more. You leant back against the cool stone walls, took a few deep breaths and appreciated the silence.

That silence was disrupted when you heard a male voice call out from around the corner “no, no, no you stupid squid!”

Curiosity got the better of you and you walked around the corner to spot the man sat down on one of the stone benches out on the balcony. As you approached you spotted a laptop set down beside him and he had a Nintendo Switch in his hands.

“I’m guessing you’re playing MarioKart and not fighting a squid,” you said grabbing his attention.

The man startled as he looked over his shoulder at you. You bit your lip to stop yourself from smiling too much. he was a very attractive man, maybe not in the conventional sense, but you loved his bleached-tipped hair, glasses and goatie. You could also tell he was pretty ripped underneath his suit and you could easily get lost in his blue eyes.

“I-i oh uh- I” he stuttered.

You smiled at him, enamoured by how flustered he was “Relax” you chuckled “I’d rather be playing MarioKart than be in there” you said gesturing over your shoulder with your thumb.

He let out a relieved chuckle and smiled back at you “I’m working security so I’m stuck here all night” he explained.

You tilted your head in confusion “I don’t recognise you, are you new to the team?” you asked.

The man shakes his head “No, I’m special services, the king decided to bring in some extra staff to make sure the princess stays safe” he explains.

Your brows pinch in confusion at the way he referred to you in the third person, did he know who you were? It would be a nice change of pace if he didn’t, you hated the way people acted around you just because of the title you were given when you were born.

“And how are you doing that by playing MarioKart?” you asked him.

The man looks at you sheepishly “I’m a tech specialist so I’ve got a system running alongside the CCTV scanning for anyone that might cause trouble or harm” he explained as he pointed over to the laptop “I’m Jake Jensen by the way, everyone just calls me Jensen though” he added holding his hand out to you.

You smiled at him softly “Nice to meet you Jake” you said shaking his hand “Mind if I join?” you asked pointing to the spot next to him on the bench.

“Sure” Jake smiled “So do you go to these sorts of things often?” he asked as you sat down and tried to pat down your puffy dress.

“If I have to, but I do try to avoid it if I can” you explained with a long sigh “It really isn’t my scene”

“I don’t blame you, it seems like a whole lot of fuss” Jake admitted as he glanced over his shoulder towards the party “But I guess it must be cool to say you know the royal family” he added as he nudged you with his elbow “I bet you’re besties with the princess”

You snort with laughter, he definitely had no clue who you were and you weren’t about to correct him “Oh yeah we’re like this close” you said crossing your fingers over each other.

“Very cool, so does the best friend of the princess wanna play some MarioKart or do you need to get back in there?” he asked offering you one of the joycons from his switch.

“I’m never going back in” You smirked as you took the joycon from him.

You stayed outside with Jake for the next couple of hours, chatting, having fun and playing MarioKart. You could easily say it was the best time you’ve had in a really long time and if you were honest you were falling for him. Yes, it had only been a couple of hours but surely you don’t need any longer for the right person?

You had just finished another race when he put his joycon down with a heavy sigh “I think I’ve officially met my match” he grinned.

You chuckled warmly over at him “I think I can say the same thing” you grinned.

Silence fell between the two of you, but not the uncomfortable kind. The kind where it seemed like the universe was holding its breath waiting for a life-changing moment to occur. You couldn’t help but nibble your lower lip when you noticed his gaze drop to your lips. You hadn’t even realised that you were leaning in until his hand cupped your cheek and his lips met your in a soft and gentle kiss.

You instantly smiled into the kiss and you were pretty sure there were fireworks exploding around you. Your hand rested on his chest as the kiss deepened and it became almost impossible to pull apart.

Eventually, you did, and it was perfectly timed as your father’s private secretary walked out onto the balcony looking for you.

“Ah there you are, your father is looking for you” he said as he walked over to you.

“Sorry I went to get some air and was just about to retire to my bedroom” you explained as you stood back up.

“Of course, I’m sure he won’t keep you long,” he said gesturing for you to go ahead.

You nodded with a small forced smile, your father probably just wanted to know who caught your eye and you doubted that he wanted you to say it was the security guard. You looked back at Jake and gave him a warm smile “Thank you for keeping me company, I hope to see you again soon” you smiled at him.

“Hope to see you soon too” he smiled back at you.

Your father’s private secretary nodded “And thank you for keeping the princess safe while she got some air” he said and you bit your lip nervously as realisation dawned on Jake’s face.

“Told you I was pretty close” you chuckled nervously “I hope I see you again soon” you smiled.

Jake stuttered a goodbye as he held up his hand to wave you goodbye. You smiled at him softly as you waved goodbye deciding that you were going to do anything in your power to make sure you saw him again and maybe you might just convince your father to allow you to marry who you wanted. It was the 21st century after all.

What do you think of the Powser ship? At first I was thinking "This is insane, it's clearly a toxic relationship" but at the same time there's a lot of the whole unrequited love, enemies to lovers, Beauty and the Beast type of stuff going on here. And on top of that, Nintendo hasn't exactly been helping what with all the Powser shipping fuel they've put out this year...

When it comes to ships and people saying “But it would never work-“ SHUT UP XDDDDD (affectionately?)

Ships count as an AU in their own little way and AUs are ALL about “What ifs”

What if Peach actually said yes to Bowser. She and her Kingdom would be under HIS protection and they’d never have to worry about anyone else blah blah blah. Yeah sure that’s good.

But if I WERE to ship them, I add drama because I’m a little angsty shit like that huehuehue.

Make it a love triangle where Peach, growing up in the Mushroom Kingdom, would have obviously had to have looked at potential suitors before Mario and Luigi ever arrived. Imagine a childhood friendship between a little Koopa prince and a lost child princess only for them to grow apart because of their indifferences and when they’re older, Bowser tries to get Peach back only to realize that she has taken interests in Mario and the drama starts chkjdwbckdjwnwd. Her walking away with Mario, Bowser behind them, defeated in sadness and rejection only for a disheartened Peach to look back as if to say “You are not the friend you once were”

ok ok to summarize, I don’t care what the ship is. If the story or ART is good, AND IF it’s legal and not morally wrong, I’ll allow it.

Four Swords Returns 187-191

The death scene re-write because I feel the OG is rushed and goofy and this is my AU so there's cannon divergence.

A bit of a rant under the cut about some choices I made in these pages I won't save for "FSR rambles".

Hot spicey meatball take: Vio deserved to hold this man once while he died I just cannot fathom why they let him lie on the ground. Did Nintendo say "Nah Akira you've made em too fucking fruity this comic he can't hold him while he dies" I genuinely don't understand the awkward direction otherwise for that scene. She got chastised for stupider things from what I saw in some of the interviews lmfao

Also, I'm a real stickler when I think Vio should cry. Because 99% of the time I've seen fan content where he cries I go "...I don't think he'd do that here"

Like I'm of the opinion you have to emotionally OBLITERATE this man before he sheds a tear and he's the type who doesn't realize he's crying and when he does he starts to ugly sob because that's hilarious.

"WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME!?!?!"

"Vio that's crying, you're crying."

"BALLS, IT FEELS AWFUL! HOW DO YOU DO THIS ALL THE TIME!?"

No shade if you do write him crying, I've stated a hundred times my opinions are formed of MY reading of the manga and shouldn't dictate what fan content you make. Demanding otherwise would be fucking stupid.

I will point out just cause it's interesting: He literally only cried ONCE in the manga that I caught while re-reading it a million times and its when Green almost broke his fucking foot. He's pretty stoic otherwise.

I do think he deserves to be able to cry over someone he cares about tho lmfao. Also this is will be fun in FSR later...Muhahahaha.

Also I get to retcon Vaati's "death".

And I straight up don't wanna hear no sentiments of "if Vaati didn't truly die Shadow Link's sacrifice was meaningless" crap cause uh...Nah they were getting their asses Beat in the quote retweets- HANDED to them on a silver plater, would have fucking LOST if he didn't break the mirror regardless if it killed him here or not lmfao and they wouldn't have been able to part the dark clouds to save Zelda and ya know...WIN.

My point is: Shadow still saved their asses here regardless of the "Vaati lived actually" retcon in FSR.

Also, made Shadow have cracks in his skin cause he broke mirror hur-de-durr funny art thingy go brrr also visible representation of him dying cause I didn't feel like making him go transparent that is a pain in the ass.
