@whatsupdanny Had a @lookinghbo reunion celebrating our beautiful star Jonathan Groff in @merrilyonbway what an incredible performance! I have been listening to this show since I’m 16 with zero friggin idea what the hell was going on ( Sondheim amitite?!) and what a treat to see my friend do such a tremendous job!! Can believe it’s the 10th anniversary of Looking?!

La portada de la tesis
En mis momentos libres he estado trabajando en el diseño de la portada del manuscrito… nada profesional de momento. Pero sí he integrado el increíble diseño que hizo Carlos Valdivia (@carlos_valdiviart en Instagram) precisamente para la portada de la tesis. Encargué el diseño hace ya un par de años y el archivo ha estado reposando en la carpeta general de la tesis.
El diseño inicial es un collage a partir de *El ángel caído* («L'Ange déchu», en francés) de Alexandre Cabanel. La propuesta de la figura sola del ángel es de Carlos. Cuando recibí el diseño estaba más que emocionado porque había incorporado muchas de las ideas iniciales de la conversación que tuvimos por Skype (desde Cusco, en diciembre de 2018, cuando visitaba a mis padres por Navidad). Además también había compartido con Carlos algunas versiones previas de los análisis que ya tenía listos entonces.
Cuando me envió el diseño inicial, le respondí:
Creo que refleja mucho la manera en que Looking termina centralizando el cuerpo blanco, en particular la figura del clon gay de San Francisco (sin necesidad de incluir algo relacionado con el Castro, como te comenté… lo tuyo está mejor). Por otro lado, creo que los detalles que has añadido también terminan por erotizar la figura y a la vez los símbolos apuntan a lo gay, como me dijiste.
La adición de la esfera fue, en parte, a petición mía. Sugerí integrar algo del trabajo de Jorge Cabieses (artista peruano). Por alguna razón yo necesitaba algún tipo de contención del cuerpo, no tanto como marco de la imagen, sino algo más próximo al límite narrativo de Looking. De todas formas, la elección de la figura circular es de Carlos, así como el pie que escapa de circunferencia. Muy bueno, la verdad. Ahora veo ese pie más como un síntoma de la teleficción, imposible de contener.
