I am LOVING combing through all of your wizard au posts for never-seen-before lore. I've been reading the patented isabelguerra wizard au since 2020 and I have had just one (several) question all these years..... WHAT IS GOING ON WITH CODY AND LISA IN THIS AU!! What was up with Cody's boggart!! What was the traumatic event!! Why can Lisa see thestrals!! These two are so mysterious and enthralling and I've been thinking about their appearance in your boggart fic for sooooooo long. If any of this is spoiler free I would love to hear it.
Aw thank you!! god the 2020 era isabelguerra blog…. thanks for being here so long :’) Back then I just wasn’t letting the blog/au be something I could do for fun, hearing people actually LIKED them and came BACK is nuts (touching). its nice having something connecting you to a community. heres some answers for you:
Cody and Lisa in wizard au!!!!!!! So this AU was made before ch6, before Davy, and idk if the headcanon has died out now but people used to LOVE headcanoning cody+lisa as twins. That, plus my personal preference for their designs in ch1, meant that Wizard Au Cody and Lisa are twins and also Filipino. Different houses, same family.
And oh man Codys boggart. ok. You MIGHT be disappointed here, but. Codys boggart was a very subtle drawn-out jab at pnat’s then-recent canonization of the existence of vampires. I hated it. I was SO mad. So I did some digging on vampire lore and found apparently they can’t cross running water. So when Max overheard Stephen theorizing ‘oh jones has a water fear I bet hes some kinda vamp’, then getting yelled at by Lisa for jumping to extreme conclusions when REALLY he just had a very normal but bad experience as a kid, the underlying message there is me the writer going “vampires are the most nonsensical direction [canon] could be taking right now this makes no sense and in addition to hating it personally i’m going to make it explicitly clear that I will Never include it in my own story”.
Which is so silly. but you know if there’s one thing I love its literary symbolism. so whatever. That said, that was years ago and hey maybe i’ll change it! I’ve been working on rewriting boggart fic for republication and maybe i’ll mess around with it more. i’d love to hear your theories!!
As for Lisa seeing Thestrals, that part was initially added as an addendum to ‘Max wonders why nobody else can see Thestrals’, a bit i wrote to get an Angst Reaction before i realized A). it made no sense since isabels grandpa is literally dead B). i’ve evolved past shock value writing. so now it’s max, isabel, and lisa- max and isabel are obvious, but I really enjoyed Lisa’s pre-school store reveal characterization as ‘mysterious weird girl who just kind of knows creepy things somehow’ instead of ‘underground rebellion runner with tabs on literally everyone etc etc’. For this characterization purpose thestrals, as creatures only someone who has seen death can see, fit her really really well.
Essentially I liked her mystery and felt giving ‘Why Can Lisa See Thestrals’ an answer would be redundant in its purpose. Why can she see them? We just know she can. Maybe Cody knows, as her brother. Maybe Violet knows, as her best friend. But the story we follow as Max, Isabel, and Johnny has no reason to have that information. Much like the true nature of Cody’s boggart and the conversation they have following it, that’s a private moment we don’t have access to. Some things we aren’t meant to know. Some things don’t have an answer.
So that’s Lisa and Cody’s deal! I hope this was a fulfilling answer, I love getting asks about the au and I love writing it. Feel free to (as in please I’d love to hear them) send your other several questions! I love theorizing and I LOVE hearing theories others make about my work. Ty for the ask!!

I just had a Paranatural theory that is absolutely bs, based on like no evidence, and probably not going to happen at all, but I will continue to think it until such time as Zack Morrison themself tells me otherwise.
In the one scene when Lisa usurps Suzy’s blackmail on Max, Suzy tenses when Lisa makes it sound like she’s about to say Suzy’s last name, which Suzy apparently doesn’t want getting out for some unknown reason (despite fervently rooting through everyone else’s secrets). I will admit that this is entirely based on her hair color, but what if that is because said last name is Spender?
On an entirely unrelated note, I’ve always thought that if Suzy were to somehow become a spectral her spectral energy would be frosty pink, like that one possessed pencil Isabel freaked Mr. Spender out with that one time.

Isaac O'Connor is soooooo transfemme to me like. She strikes me as an uncracked egg the same way barbed wire on a baseball bat would strike a face in a zombie movie.
Shes someone who feels profoundly isolated and other'ed from her peers and doesnt know that this feeling is a feeling that other people have- she just thinks its another thing that makes her alone. I think she gets sooo much gender envy from the anime girls she watches and just thinks its a crush. I think she has giant posters of Sailor Moon on the wall for completely cisgener reasons. She thinks Lisa (also gendersomething) is soooooo cool but doesnt know why, again maybe just assuming its a crush. "Why do you like the pink power ranger so much" "uhmmmm because shes cool". Anyways

Isaac is definitely SOMETHING to me. she/her or she/he agenda... the interaction u wrote is HILARIOUS bc ohh my gosh so right but so wrong... I feel like another factor could be ed coming out as whatever nonbinary bastard ed is only to get poor isaac confused bc like....? You can't do that. And she wouldn't mean like you can't as in like, doesn't know what trans is, or transphobic (although i feel like she would be mistaken as so bc 1. Its a lil funny and 2. Isaac SEEMS so bamboozled by it or just condescending when really it's just confusion) but like as in YOU can't. SIGH. yeah that was me i ran the hogwarts au. i cannot run from my past i just gotta embrace it. anyway im super touched to hear u liked my au… my feelings around it are super conflicted but even though i dont talk abt it much it was really sweet hearing how much you liked it. so yes. yes i did come up with yule ball outfits, for the triwizard tournament arc in their 6th year, which i will share for u bc u asked so sweet
first off: my biggest gripe with yule in canon was how boring it was. these are fucking wizards. i was not going to let that shit get away with black robed suits and prom dresses i wanted full ass met gala-level Extra, while still staying faithful to the characters tastes and personalities. so i ended up looking at a bunch of runway couture! heres what i came up with:
isabel, as the heir to the prestigious guerra family name, quidditch captain, brightest witch of their year, and max (hogwarts champion)’s date (they went together for appearances as bffs and bc neither of them got actual dates), had a lot of pressure on her shoulders socially. i wanted her 2 have something she could feel natural in but a little restricted by, as she likely had her dress chosen for her rather than chose it herself. so she likes it but it reflects her wizarding world status more than her actual personality. it also goes 2 be said that the night before yule she stayed up hand folding a bunch of paper cranes and butterflies for her dress that would fly around her all night. loved Teuta Matoshi, Joanne Flemming bridal, and vintage Costarellos designs 4 her
max was hogwarts champion that year obviously which means he had to have the most swag out of anyone. obviously. i was super into butch lesbian max when i made this so his inspos were primarily womens suits. he was the only one i let have a black outfit bc i cant see him being super fashionably flashy. vibe i went for was ‘shiny goth swag’, which Isabel Marant SS2020 and D&G pre-Fall 2020 really hit the nail on the head
ed was probably the most fun+ easiest. i just dressed them weird. also idk if i mentioned this but ed and rj went to yule together lol? #nonbinaryswag. my fav look for them was #1, D&G Spring RTW 2020. i love that shiny suit. i do also think he’d fuck it up in the dress at the end though
isaac i went so ridiculous with isaac you know he’d be so extra. Balmain FW2016 really pulled through with the velvet fabrics, squared shoulders, and gold accents. my other looks were Louis Vuitton Fall 2020, which were a bit sillier but i still loved for him
spender fucks it up in a chadwick boseman met gala 2018. he does not pull it off as well but what can u do
EXTRAS bc idk if u just meant outfits for Just the main cast or for everyone. so here’s some bonus outfits for other cast members :-)
johnny is one of the few muggle-born wizards i chose from the cast, so his outfit would’ve reflected that slight displacement and more attunement to the human world. i loved 2 joke w my friends that getting johnny in ANY fancy outfit would be hard, and even if u could get him in one he’s still wear his iconic ratty leather jacket over his nice clothes anyway. so johnny got two pics: one from Balenciaga Spring 2018 (love the dorky high waisted pants and patterned red dress shirt combo), and another from Coach Spring 2017 (love the jacket). he also deffo charmed his hair to Literally Be On Fire until one of the professors told him to put it out. he also let loose a racoon in the venue while nobody was looking.
