Important things I’ve learned about the new tumblr polls so far (which are NOT mentioned in the official announcement post):

Once you’ve voted you can’t change it and you can only vote once.

You can only view poll results on the dashboard or in blogview. The buttons are still displayed on custom blog layouts, but if you try to click on them it will automatically take you to blogview.

Responses are completely anonymous. Neither the poll creator nor the respondents can see who voted or what they voted for. The only visible metric is the total number of votes.

Votes don’t show up on your activity feed so you have to go find the poll on your blog if you want to see the results or know if people are even voting.

You can’t view the results of your own poll without participating (clicking on one of the answer choices yourself).

You can’t edit a poll post once you publish it, you can only delete it! I assume this lasts until the poll has timed out, which will either be in a week or a day depending on what you picked This is permanent, so you better hope you got all of your tags and answer choices correct before you publish! This also means you can’t change your poll duration later either.

UPDATE (Jan 22, 2023):

You can send individual polls to someone as a submission, which the recipient can then edit and customize before publishing, but this will NOT give that person the ability to create new polls on their own.

Polls have a maximum of 10 answer choices and each answer choice is limited to 80 characters.

Polls can’t be added to reblogs, only original posts. Additionally, only one poll is allowed per post.

You can add a poll to a previously published original post (that doesn’t have one already), but as soon as it’s published again all editing will be disabled. Also, the poll time limit starts from the original post date, so if you add a poll to a post older than your set time limit, the poll will automatically show up as completed with zero votes.

If you aren't sure if you have the ability to create polls, check this guide. As of right now, according to my current poll, only about 10-15% of users have this feature.

watching a true crime documentary with chrollo and hearing 'the phantom troupe' get namedropped

I’m in love with how they are giving so many subtle hints about Alhaitham and Kaveh’s relationship and how important it is to Alhaitham, despite the way they always seem to be bickering.

Throughout the 3.2 archon quest Alhaitham tells us that the reason why he is so interested in helping Sumeru is because he doesn’t want his daily life to change. After that Kaveh starts being mentioned very frequently by him or we hear other people in the akademiya complain about how they daily argue.

Then, of course, we meet them both arguing with each other in the House of Daena, which was quite the argument. We also know many of their casual interactions and how they go to the café/bar frequently together. Furthermore, Alhaitham pays all of Kaveh’s bills (something no one would do for someone they don't care for).

And now, during Alhaitham’s quest, their tones were so soft (At least in JP and CN) and also domestic. Kaveh seems to worry a lot about Alhaitham and exchanges glances with him, which made me melt inside. I also love how Alhaitham is constantly smiling while bickering with kaveh. Remember, we dont see him smiling like this that often. Which means he really enjoys it. I really liked how after the second time Kaveh asked him if he is okay, he replied with a tease about the painting Kaveh had mentioned before. Also smiling.

But most importantly, something I see no one talking about: the moment when Alhaitham was explaining why he resigned from being the Grand Sage to being the scribe again and he tells us that “It’s important to keep your priorities straight”, the camera points at Kaveh.

I know this game will probably never have any canon ship because they need to make everyone happy, but we do get hints like this from time to time and I think this was one of them.

After all, why would they bother to add all of those scenes with Kaveh when the quests had already concluded, if not for showing us how is what is Alhaitham’s daily life he wants to protect that much? We saw how happy he is, how eager he was to get home and go have dinner with Kaveh. We also see how Kaveh had been waiting for him as well.

I’d like to know more about their relationship, even if it ends up not being romantic (though how do you explain that face Kaveh made when paimon asked if they are friends).

I wonder if Kipperlily wanted to be friends with Riz. I wonder if this tiny, intense little overachiever saw him with his briefcase and his business cards and thought she'd found a kindred spirit. I wonder if Kipperlily was bullied for being too nerdy, for caring more about her academics than her peers and was hoping Riz would get that.

I wonder if it stung to watch him become friends with the coolest kids in school. If it hurt to realize that he isn't like her, to see all the personality traits people disliked in her get loved and accepted by a group of people who chose him.

If I know math, and I think I do, Apollo was sent back to Japanifornia when he was nine. Assuming Japanifornia school years work like those in Japan Apollo started junior high and met Clay when he was 13. This give us a solid four years of nothing happening to Apollo, in this four year gap I propose he gets another instalment in his train wreck of a life.

It’s my birthday today, which means I get to spend some time drawing my favorite Ace Attorney characters in a pose from one of my favorite Vocaloid songs - don’t know how I made this connection but who am I to question my brain…

leaked emails from last year's hugo awards organizers show they actively tried to single out authors and their submissions from being considered for the awards because of Chinese censorship laws. As in, it wasn't the censors who did it, they just were so scared of running into the law that they essentially did the censor's work for them in anticipation and talked among themselves which candidates shouldn't be nominated. One notable email singled out author Neseem Jamnia for being "queer, nonbinary, trans" and frequently writing about gender and being nonbinary as being potentially problematic for censorship.

worldcon organizers volunteering information to each other about which of the authors they know are queer so they can disqualify them. stay classy hugos.

actually what i think would be cool is an ace attorney game where each case is its own individual mini-spinoff. first case is kristoph gavin: ace attorney a few years pre-aa4 with apollo as kristoph’s college intern and clay as the defendant. we get to learn more about clay and apollo’s friendship alongside apollo+kristoph and krisnix dynamic. we’re forced to forge evidence because there isnt anything concrete proving clay’s innocence, giving us an inside glimpse into a corrupt attorney’s life. second case is simon blackquill investigations pre-UR1 where on someone else dies at the space center and metis is accused. we see more of athena/simon/aura/metis family dynamic as well as athena and juniper’s friendship as children. manfred von karma investigations (kid miles and vk family dynamic) or lana skye investigations (pre-SL9 ema mia gant jake angel neil) or mia fey ace attorney (maya lana pearl morgan diego maybe even dahlia and iris) or robin newman ace attorney/hugh o’conner investigations (self-indulgent but would be so cute)….the possibilities are endless……just fun little ways to expand on pre-existing character dynamics that might not have been discussed too much without necessarily making an entire game revolving around those characters

yknow if if capcom was gonna tell apollo to go fuck himself and give phoenix a bunch of unnecessary and damaging to his character screentime in DD and SOJ the bare fucking minimum they could have done was give him and trucy an investigation sequence together that lasted more than 15 seconds and had a single line of good dialogue between them

I was just looking for a good thriller to escape the gays just for a few hours and of course…
