Have you all ever heard of Les Normaux?!?! Cuz if not, YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY READ IT!!! The webcomic can be found on both Tapas and Webtoon :> This lovely fanart right here is of Elia, one of the main characters and Keiko! A lovely, lovely character that was just recently introduced and just absolutely stole my heart.

Tho early chapters and extra content can be found on @theartofknightjj and @alababwa 's patreon! (Editor's note: actually the Patreon is only JJ's, but Al also works on the project so yeah, there u go) I highly recommend getting in, theirs is the first ever patreon I've ever subscribed to and I haven't regretted it one second haha.

I'd also written a whole sob post about how much Les Normaux meant to me as both a reader and also a creative and then I accidentally deleted it all, rip! Probably for the best, so as not to embarass myself so much XD But yeah, long story short, Les Normaux is just absolutely amazing, wonderful read, beautiful art and just such and inspiring work overall. It should have a bigger fandom, imho.

I was planning to do just a little sketch of Elia because he's my fave (long-haired man, silly, blue), but I lose all sense of control and time when drawing beautiful men (*cough* terminally bisexual) so I ended up with a completed piece! What happened to the lives of the side-characters?

First, let me state that I am so happy that Les Normaux is back, and with all the bad reboots we've been having recently I am greatfull to know that this isn't that, because it is a labor of love instead of a cash grab.

The changes to les normaux are mostly technical, the art (its lighting, the back ground, amazing), the way in which the story is told (it used to be from diary entries of different characters), and the fact that its taking its time (re-read the old version yesterday, and was astonished to find how quickly Sebastien and Elia got together). The age of the characters...

However! The biggest change has been Drew & Ronnie, and their story. They deffinetly seem like different characters between the archived/new version. But we are not here to tall about that 'cause Ronnie is a main character in this version.

We are here to talk about Pam and her crush in Radha, we are here to talk about my favorite ghost Amou, about Matisse and his difficulties with school.

About poor man Raahim, and how the new version handle his backstory:

Here's the thing, the backstory is mostly the same except for the fact that we now know how old Raahim was when he came to france (i would have like it to be older, but thats just me). What I dont like is how we are presented / or came to know his backstory versus the old version. In this new version is all about Sébastien and cheering him up, whereas in the old version it was just Tiponi asking Raahim about himself (they date in the old version), and he being "let me tell you about my death parents" which he latet says to Matisse it wasnt very smooth.

So wheareas in the old version is through his own storyline that we discover what happened to him, now it is not more than a footnote in Sébastien's storyline, and I dont know how to feel about that.

As I said, the new Les Normaux its taking its time, so I hope that we do get Pam's love live, Drews insecurites, Rhada & Amou's friendship, Tiponi/Raahim, Adrien's sexuality crisis, Matisse strugling with school and discovering he is not stupid just neurodivergent/learns differently...

The way that it was handle Raahim's story makes me a bit wary, but I still trust the creators and their love of their characters. And if they take their time, thats incredibly fine, but if else...

Well only time will tell.
