The separation had proven more difficult than she could have imagined. Days had lost their luster, her guilt expressed itself into art. Canvases and papers filled with embellished black lines, painted over and over in heaps and clusters – shapes that didn’t make sense mottling the pages. It was as if she were trying to expel something from herself. Like what she had done to Shimi was eating her alive.

Occasionally in the crowded streets she would swear he was standing there, as if he were waiting for her. And yet when she would reach their place there would be nothing there – or someone else, with the only resemblance being a head full of dark curls. Each time it came as a crushing disappointment. She’d ramble to herself in the little apartment, talking to them, as if they might hear her and come home. In those moments she wondered if they had found the polaroid? If so, had they kept it or tossed it away?

After weeks, she had begun to accept the new reality. Sami was gone – and she liked to imagine them with their tribe, adored and respected. Learning to wield whatever great power it is his mother had implied. Safe, amongst other Jinn – where the belonged. Free of the cage she’d stuck them in. Still, she couldn’t get herself to pack away the things in their room. All of the trinkets they’d left behind remained untouched, the bed still a mess from when they’d woke that morning – even in her room, the bedside table on the side he would sleep was full of his things.

Leo half slumps against a building, her phone held directly in front of her face as she scrolls through open art gallery listings. Something catches her attention out of the corner of her eye; remarkably familiar yet different in a way. The phone is lowered into her pocket as she stares.

Dark curls, thin – nearly glowing.

The air catches in her throat and she nearly chokes on it. A car horn blares at her when she distractedly steps off the curb; too focused on the being ahead of her to care for her surroundings. As it passes she ignores the slurs the driver is screaming at her -- too focused. She can’t see their eyes but she knows.

"...Sami?"

Oh man, we had a lot of Mario games growing up. Out of the ones I actually played though.. hmm, let me try to remember them all..

On the Super Nintendo we played Donkey Kong country, which I count as a Mario game XD. On the GameCube there was Mario Party 5 and Mario Tennis. On the Wii we had Mario cart and new super Mario bros. And on my DS I had super Mario 64!

On my Nintendo switch I actually have 3D world and bowsers fury! :0 I haven’t finished playing them yet though--

Yeah. I grew up playing a lot Mario games 😅. And that’s not even including the ones we had but I couldn’t play! Like Mario cart double dash and Luigi’s mansion! Loooots of memories with Mario :}

As for my favorites.. oo that’s a hard one.. but I’d say Mario cart wii, new super Mario bros.wii and Mario tennis are my favorites. Soooo many memories playing those games with my family.. we’d play for hours and hours.. man now you got me all nostalgic 😭

Also as for what started my AU, it was my disappointment with the Mario movie trailer :x I didn’t like what I saw. So I made something I did like. And it BLEW UP! So much so that I dove headfirst into building a whole world around that post and making a brand new AU :D

When it comes to their journey home. Peach didn’t really have an opportunity to talk to them. It was a mad dash to get back to the kingdom.

Although at some point on their journey home, the Super Shroom ran out of power and Mario shrunk. He collapsed to the ground and dropped Luigi and Peach.

All of Mario’s energy was completely drained. Luigi, while suffering from a panic attack, tried to help Mario up, but he could hardly move.. Mario found the strength though to snatch the Fire Flower out of Luigi’s bag.

After becoming Fire Mario he gets a second wind and gets Luigi on his feet. He grabs his hand and tells him to take deep breaths. He goes over to Peach and helps her up. He tells them both that they need to keep moving. And off they go..

Peach gets to talk to the bros 1 on 1 a few days after her rescue. Where she’s been cleaned up, her injuries have been tended to and she’s calmed down. At that point she calls the bros into her room to talk to them and learn more about them.

It takes place after they meet the Toads. That’s actually how they found out about Peach’s capture. While they were in the Kingdom they heard about her being kidnapped..

I’d like to think something like the poison mushroom exists, although its not a Power-up. Its just a comically obviously poisonous mushroom. Its purple with a dark stem, its got glowing goo dripping from it, all that stuff.

I don’t think the poison mushroom would necessarily kill Mario and Luigi, but it could make them very, very sick.

Also the 1-UP mushroom doesn’t have to be eaten to be absorbed. I changed it so you just have to touch it. Like the Fire flower. :0 SO if Luigi or Mario was sick and dying they would just have to hand it to him and he would have an extra life ready to go.

Aw, thanks! Although I’m sorry to say that I don’t really have any takes on those characters.. I really do just stick to my own AU now-a-days honestly 😅

If Mario stayed dead, he would have killed Luigi, and sent a message to Daisy and Peach’s kingdom telling them their “Hero’s” have failed.

And he would remind them of how much time they have left to fork over their land lest Peach be killed too.. :(

I imagine them like the original Mario/Luigi voices, but less exaggerated. More toned down with the Wahoos you know? Which the Mario movie 1000% should have done.

The history between Bowsers Kingdom and Daisy/Peach’s kingdom isn’t really filled out.. other than the war that’s lasted for decades.

Bowser wants their land, but he’s out numbered since Daisy and Peach’s kingdom stand in arms. So they’ve been at a standstill for years..

The bros are from some random run down little town in Italy somewhere :x I don’t have any specifics..

Sometime after Peach was rescued, she get to talk 1 on 1 with Mario. And she asks him a lot of questions. Its Mario’s tender answers that make her warm up to him.

“Why did you save me?” “..We heard that you had been-a captured. And.. w-we have these special powers.. I-I just had to do something. I had to at least try to help-a you..”

“Why did you threaten to return and kill Bowser?” “..I was-a angry, he made my brother cry.. I felt like he needed to pay. But I don’t-a know if I’ll-a go back.. Luigi is-a safe now.”

“...What do you want in return for saving me?” “Huh? oh I uhm.. well-a nothing really.. I didn’t try to save you expecting a reward-a.. I just wanted to help-a..”

The Power-ups are influenced by emotions and intent yes. And they are not limited to just fire balls and ice balls. They can do all kind’s of stuff. Think of the benders from Avatar, they can do similar things :0

I haven’t put much thought into the Koopalings.. although I know they are all blood related, and they are kept safe hidden away in some secret castle.. <:/

I am not very familiar with the Mario Galaxy Power-ups, as I have never played the game.. so I don’t have much of an idea for those..

But! The Propeller hat is supposed to be an artificial powerup created by the toads! Its looks mostly the same as it does in the games.

And the penguin suit I figured would prooobably turn them into an actual penguin. Think golden lion Mario but a penguin! I figured if they were going to make Mario and Luigi nice ice proof suits, it wouldn’t just straight up be a penguin suit..

Nope, I know nothing about Polterpup. So he wasn’t added to the AU. <:/ And they don’t need an emotional support dog, they have Yoshi for that! XD

Peach and Luigi’s safety took priority over getting revenge on Bowser. So he just ran away, to get them back to the Mushroom Kingdom.

My advice would be to heavily reference the actual animatronics. Try to mimic them as closely as you can. Eventually you’ll start to stylize parts of it and you will create your own style off of it that looks pretty close to the originals. :0

As for the comas. Its really scary. The fallen mercs have no brain activity, but their hearts are still beating.. the others start to wonder which one of them is going to drop next. And they still don’t know what’s wrong with them..

Also I think that would actually make sense yeah. If one of the mercs die down there either their soul goes back to his original body.. or it could jump to another ragdoll.. 👀

As for engineer though, he is really there. His real body is there. If he dies, its game over for him. :(

Thankfully no one dies and they all make it back in one piece :}

I think Mario would. He would toughen up to it, he’d get used to it..

Luigi would never get used to it though. It breaks Luigi all over again every time Mario dies..

1: There was a plan for Mario and Luigi to “meet” King Boo yeah. Long story short, they were going to stumble into the mansion, get scared, then Mario uses a fire flower which scares king boo, and he lets them freely leave the mansion.

3: They do not get possessed at any point no. Buuut, I’m sure there are somethings that happened to Luigi that scared Mario.. 👀

4: I've been thinking about other roaming villain's.. Petey Piranha.. Wario and Waluigi.. the Shy Guys.. The first Chain Chop.. nothing really solid though. :/

Oh yeah, it was rough. Daisy was heart broken.. but she was glad she could finally give some closure to their families..

AAAAAaaaaaas for Wario and Waluigi-

They aren’t “ugly” because they are a swamp variant of Peach and Daisy, no. They are just.. well, kiiind’a ugly. Just how some humans are super models and some.. well not so much..

I call Wario and Waluigi “grotesque” members of their species because they are considerably ugly compared to the others <:’D... They are also weirdly proportioned. Waluigi is unusually tall and lanky, Wario is really short and obese.. And their faces are ones that only a mother could love-

They also aren’t going to be very clean people when I get around to drawing them- they are just total goblins. Although they are 100% the same species as Peach and Daisy. They just uh.. got hit with the ugly stick-

For the dragon au, would Donnie ever get the hint and make leo wings? And would Leo ever try to accept them?

Or is he forever doomed for the lack luster imitation falling he has with his portals?

Also lil mini part two; do the boys even know he has those lil portal flying sessions? And has he ever fallen and got ten injured from it?

Eventually! Honestly, Donnie probably would have made a pair for the heck of it if it wasn’t for Leo’s fins. They’re kinda in the way for a flight pack like Donnie’s… He hasn’t quite figured out how to work around those and still maintain the proper strength/support, (it’s hard enough getting Leo pouches for his medical stuff, since he can’t just wear a belt), and doesn’t see the point in stressing over it if Leo seemingly doesn’t want to fly anyway.

But y’know. One day maybe that won’t be as much of a problem ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

For the mini part two: No, his family doesn’t know about his portal-flight sessions! They don’t even know he can do that in the first place, actually. Doesn’t matter if they’d think it was cool or clever, because showing them means admitting he thought about it enough to come up with an alternative. They don’t need to know any of that, they just need to know he likes the water!

They do know he goes out at night, though. They all chalk it up to insomnia and late night swims.

And no, he has not gotten hurt beyond scrapes or bruises, usually from trees or landing wrong. At least not yet. :D

Aemond Targaryen's Top 3 Placements in Astrology

Aemond's become my favorite character on House of the Dragon, so I thought it would be fun to kind of analyze his character with atrology. I'll be covering what I think are his sun, moon and rising signs.

NOTE: I'm not a professional astrologer, I simply love learning about it. This was purely for fun. Also GIFs are not mine; credit to gameofthronesdaily, useraelin, alicentloyalist and splinterbean.

Sun sign

Leo

Don't click away. Hear me out, as someone who's met MANY leos in my life (a lot in my family), Aemond is a part the lion pride. Granted he's very much a dark reflection of the sign, but he's still a representation of that sign. I know some were thinking Scorpio is the obvious choice (and we'll be getting to his Scorpio-ness soon) but when I really looked at it, I saw more leo for the sun sign.

Sun sign basics: Your core self, your conscious self. Your initial character and ego.

Leo sun traits that align with Aemond: Desire for attention/being the center of attention, ambitious, protective, loyal, glamorous (best drip out of all his siblings), schadenfreude (if you know the scene that GIF is from, you get it), out-bursts, jealousy

Aemond is very much an underdog in the story. When he claims Vhagar, he revels in it. He has that desire to be king and views himself as more worthy than Aegon (and he is), because like most leos, he's an overachiever. Let's not also forget he was really feeling himself in Fire & Blood when he became Prince Regent. Leos are ambitious, which is one of Aemond's primary personality traits. He's fiercely loyal to his family, even defending his brother's ascension to the throne. And I added glamorous because Aemond takes the most care in his appearance on Team Green outside of Alicent (I'd argue even more than Otto.) Look at his adult outfits. He chose to decorate his missing eye with a precious gemstone. Even his hair is notably full of more luster. The most glaringly obvious trait of a leo he has is his pride. He won't let a challenge to it go unnoticed. As for schadenfreude, Aemond clearly enjoys when other aren't having the best time. The throne room scene and the entire Storm's End sequence are proof enough of that. He definitely has explosive anger several times, and jealousy is a running theme with his character, even if he doesn't act on it. (Also weird and low-key miscellaneous but I'm throwing this in here for fun: he can fight. I can't think of a time I came across a leo that didn't know how to throw hands.)

Moon sign

Cancer

(No I did not plan on Aemond having the sign ruled by the sun for his sun-sign and the sign ruled by the moon for his moon-sign on purpose.)

Moon sign basics: Your innermost self. It reveals your deepest thoughts, emotions, fears and desires.

Cancer moon traits that align with Aemond: An innate sense of responsibility (boy does he personify this), a need to nurture/support/protect, a likeness for tradition, home and family.

Even at a young age, Aemond is very responsibility-driven. He says he would marry Helaena if it were his duty to support both his house and family. He also assumes the job of helping Criston track down Aegon, and also goes to Storm's End to seal an alliance. Interestingly, cancer is connected to motherhood, and Aemond is the child closest to Alicent. He and Alicent also have their repression in common, as he's been too busy being perfect™ to pursue his own desires like Aegon, who is all desire and no responsibility. He has a preference for tradition as seen by the fact that he says that Helaena will be Aegon's queen despite the fact that Rhaenyra has been named heir for over a decade at that point. He does care deeply for his family as seen by the way he comforts his mother and Helaena (and also the hc that he's a great uncle to Jahaerys and Jahaera.) We also see him constantly in a protective defense. He assumes a defensive pose and reaches for his blade during Vaemond's decapitation in the throne room. He stands up in a threatening manner when Jace appeared to be angry with Aegon at the dinner table before he made his toast. He stands in front of Helaena, and fully sqaures up to Meleys...a freaking DRAGON, during the dragon pit coronation. It's clear that Aemond's jealousy doesn't come from having these responsibilities, he just wishes he was more rewarded to performing them efficiently... preferably with a crown. (And good for him, I say!)

Ascending/ Rising:

Scorpio

Ascending/rising sign basics: What you present yourself as. What first impression you make. Your appearance.

Scorpio rising traits that align with Aemond: intimidating, aloof, determined, strategic

This is glaringly obvious and borderline self-explanatory. Your rising sign is how you present yourself to others, and well, Aemond couldn't be anything other than a scorpio rising in my opinion. From his first scene as an adult especially, it's obvious.

Everything from his piercing glare to his love of black leather makes him intimidating. He is not someone who's going to enter a room and be all smiles with people, especially with those he doesn't like (Team Black.) Determination is that man's middle name. And he's displayed some a knowledge of strategy a few times in the show, like with claiming Vhagar, granted his leo-ness can often make him a bit impulsive.

the AU itself is it’s own spin on the very common “links meet up” trope within the LoZ fandom, but this time it’s with the lorulian heros! this was originally an au of @linkeduniverse but at some point we decided we wanted to have our own designs and all that for the hyrulian heros. also If you don’t know about the plot of ALBW or just dont know zelda stuff in general this au might be a bit confusing, and honestly explaining it would clog this up and all that, plus ALBW is a really good game so if you haven’t played it yet, go play it >:)

this ask blog is story driven and will have different arcs, this was inspired by Author’s wonderful @ask-lu-wild i remember when i first went through the blog i was like “holy shit i should do this with the ravio au” than a bit later talked to louie about it and here we are!
