Olá! I was recently in northern Portugal (Porto, Braga, Guimarães, and Aveiro) and wanted to share some pictures from my trip 😊
The weather wasn't the greatest (it rained the whole day two out of the four days I was there 😬) but I really liked everything I saw, especially Porto and Aveiro. Part of Aveiro's historic center was under construction though 😐
By the way, I managed to communicate in Portuguese and I generally understood people when they spoke to me in Portuguese (if they didn't speak too quickly 😅). I didn't really have the opportunity to chat with anyone, but I spoke Portuguese in restaurants, supermarkets, bus stations, and buses. The only long conversation I had was with the owner of the hostel I stayed at. I spoke in Spanish and she spoke in (slow) Portuguese, and we managed to understand each other. Portuguese people normally have an easier time understanding us Spaniards than vice versa.
