Jermaine had better chemistry with the cast in his two episodes than Ping Pong had in twenty six. Not only that but he was likable, had flaws and growth, and his dynamic with Omi was enjoyable without reducing him to sidekick. He felt like his own person. I also liked his dynamic with Chase Young however brief. Also liked his design, and his voice by the late Lee Thompson Young. No wonder fans to this day still wanted him to permanently join the young monks as the Fifth Dragon.
In contrast, Ping Pong was little more than a nice version of Omi with little physical differences. He was the show's gary Stu who can manipulate four elements yet NEVER uses his own. His backstory was pretty generic. He doesn't even have real chemistry with the other monks because the show kept attaching him to Omi, so that Omi could have development. Which left Ping Pong with little individual growth, reducing him to just being Omi's sidekick. Plus his voice is grating, making it one of Tara Strong's worse gigs. It's sad because a Dragon of Wood has a lot of potential but got wasted on such a shitty character.
The good old times. You have gone too soon. I'll never be the same without you. All I have is memories. I know you're in a better place...But it's always going to hurt.
