Polar night
In the freezing forest a father leaellynasaura protects his chicks from the cold.
I recently learnt about leaellynasaura and it's become my favorite dinosaur, and it's awesome to see a dinosaur from my country. this group are based on cassowaries, I originally designed them after owls but wanted them to stick out more colour wise.

Walking with Dinosaurs things
WWD is so cool...
I've gotten a long way from the subject matter I started the blog with.... but maybe I'll keep coming back to it. I just want to bring out here the creative side that has accompanied me all my life, the paleoart.

Lyanna (she/her)
Leaellynasaura from Walking With Dinosaurs. Her eyes were damaged when I bought her, so she kept them covered with a blindfold or hat for a while before I eventually replaced them.

Early sketch of Glossopteris (Gloss, to hir friends), my Leaellynasaur 'sona who started out as a joke a few weeks ago but has since moved into my head permanently. The main cartoon deviation from real anatomy is rotating out the eyes to make them more binocular - the fact that they're so huge and anime is attested in the fossil record, along with massive optic lobes for processing images in the long Antarctic night.
Hir winter plumage is loosely based off an illustration by Julio Lacerda, though the surrounds of the eyes ended up being something more like aural discs, and I want to elaborate on the design, as well as designing some properly intricate summer plumage.
Not pictured thusfar: three times hir body length in fluffy tail, and nigh-bottomless winter floof.
