LAWLU FIC IDEA: TORAO

An AU where everything is more or less the same except Luffy doesn't let anyone else use 'Torao' for Law

Hates it even

(While i like that there are others who use 'Torao' for Law, i also like the idea where only Luffy gets to use the nickname and no one else)

Anyways!

There are only a number of things that Luffy won't share with anyone. The first of course, is food. Second, is his special seat. The third?

Trafalgar D. Water Law

And it shows from the get go when he won't let anyone - not even his own nakama - use 'Torao' for Law

Law doesn't mind either way but he'll admit if only to himself, that he likes that Luffy is the only one who calls him 'Torao'

imo luffy wouldn't be upset with law for the reasons mr emo doctor would expect after losing to blackbeard. like law and bepo somehow swim it out to an island and he manages to borrow a den den mushi and makes the "call of shame" (in his opinion) to the thousand sunny. luffy is like, overjoyed to hear from him - god knows this man doesn't read the paper or listen to gossip - and after law explains "um i'm kinda in a situation rn can u guys pick me up" i think luffy would just be so relieved that bro is alive yk. and yeah okay maybe the strawhats put law on house arrest bc the only times he seems to end up in actual Dangerous Life Threatening Situations is when luffy isn't around. gay science wins

There would be a lot of moving parts to juggle, but I want to write a fic like Sib's zosan AU, but instead it's a 40yo Luffy who comes back to the past (the Straw Hats' present). And while he's of course thrilled to see his friends, he's most excited to see...Law??

Which throws everyone for a loop, especially him.

And when they ask what's going on, Luffy goes, "We're married!" No subtly, no regard for how this might be horrifying for both Law and a young Luffy 😂 At this point Law has maybe accepted that he has a small inconsequential crush on Luffy. Luffy has not thought about it at all.

The boys are in denial and everything is thrown into chaos. Romcom shenanigans ensue.

LawLu Fic Idea and thoughts: Asexual Luffy married to Regular Libido Law.

What if asexual Luffy gets married to regular libido Law? Will they open up the marriage to have an arrangement where Law seeks partners to fulfil his physical needs? I think Luffy would be secure in the marriage because he may not understand the need of touch, but he definitely understands hunger. The body wants what the body wants.

Law on the other hand, I think will feel guilty despite Luffy’s complete and enthusiastic blessings. Because Law loves Luffy and no one else, so every time he finds a bed partner, he returns home feeling more heartbroken then satisfied.

P.S: I am open to suggestions and inputs. I am reading on this topic, but different perspectives help me!

I’m so tempted to write an angsty (but also hurt/comfort) Lawlu fic that has Law suffering a nearly mortal wound that wouldn’t have happened if Luffy followed the plan for once.

Then have Luffy’s turmoil over being the bearer of miracles, only it doesn’t matter when it comes to people he loves most (Ace).

Plus, the Heart Pirates being protective of their captain 😤

This idea is so far down my (extensive) idea list that I'll probably never write it. Feel free to adopt it. Soulmate AU where you don't get your soulmate's name in their writing on your arm, but their signature. Luffy gets a doctor scribble. Law gets an X.

A 5 chapter fic with lawlu/lulaw nuances Law pov of just him noticing and being in awe of the five gears BUT THE TITLE OF EACH CHAPTER GOES AS SUCH:

An Apple A Day Keeps The Doctor Away

Two Apples A Day Can Leave Him In Dismay

Three Apples A Day Makes Something Else Decay

Four Apples A Day Is What The Prophets Say

Five Apples A Day, The Time Has Come To Pray

And with each chapter it gets more and more gruesome, and body-horror-esk, and closer and closer to the uncanny valley. Like Luffy turns into joyboy, empty eyes as if nothing's in their sockets. Voids stuck to his face - endless, empty and all consuming. A smile too wide and toothless like one of a puppet torn and hollowed. His face and skin paler than any human's should be. His head is tilted in an angle that makes his neck look broken and the eeriness of his laughter echoes through the air like a choir of vengeful spirits. The smoke and swift air around him do nothing to make him seem more human. All the boyish charm and sunny personality Luffy usually possessed had gained the lineament of death itself.

He had never been more attractive.

LawLu fic idea: Locker

Heavily inspired by the legends and myths of Davy Jones and how he's noted as the Devil of the Sea and the Reaper

Considering what happened to the Heart Pirates recently with Blackbeard and his crew, I thought of a fic idea where Law does the exact opposite to what other Devil Fruit users would do if they're thrown into the water

He stops rejecting the sea and lets himself drown, welcoming death not as an act of defiance but of acceptance to death itself

That awakens the Op-Op fruit into something else as its embraced by the sea. Something otherworldly, and that allows Law to accomplish what he sets out to do and that's to protect his crew from Blackbeard, no matter what. Even if that means welcoming death

Even if that means becoming Death himself

And now the very sea itself has become Law's domain, his ROOM -- the Locker of Oceanic Abyss which is his to rule, control and operate as he wishes

But with that, it also means his presence disappears which is picked up by a horrified Luffy via haki.

The Straw Hats may not have been there at Marineford but they're about to witness a breakdown that can very much rival that when Luffy suddenly falls to his knees screaming in shocked grief at losing someone who could've been his everything

A realization that came too little too late

Sunrise After Sunset 🌅 Progress Update: In the works

So it’s been two years since I’ve updated Sunrise After Sunset over on Ao3 (and Wattpad) and besides answering some comments the few times I check my inbox and that one ask that kicked my brain into gear a bit, I haven’t been saying much about what my plans exactly are for working on SAS? That’s mostly because I’m paranoid and if I say things out loud I’m less likely to do them, but y’all deserve a bit of relief.

To start, nope, haven’t written anything since I went on that unannounced hiatus that faithful August 2020. SAS has been sitting in my docs collecting dust while I’ve been hopping around fandoms as usual. I get the most motivation to actually want to write something when I’m into the thing I’m writing for at the moment, and by the time school started that year I was both busy and getting into a new fandom, which was bad news for my motivation. Didn’t help that I was stuck on how to write the next chapter.

Still, like I’ve always said, I absolutely love the idea for SAS and refuse to give up on it. It just took me until I got back into One Piece wholeheartedly to start looking into it again. At the moment, I’m going to have to re-familiarize myself with One Piece and all it’s intricacies, as well as my stupid jumbled notes that I wrote in a NOTEBOOK LIKE AN IDIOT LIKE WHY ME WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT—

(sigh) Yeah no, don’t let its pristine condition fool you—the mess in there is another reason I didn’t try to pick up SAS again faster…

But anyway, once I do all that stuff, it’ll still be a while until I update new content! I plan to rewrite everything and do some major editing since there were things I’m not happy with now and even some things I disliked when I was writing the fic. It’s gonna be a lot of work, and I’m extremely lazy (if the past two years have said anything) but for SAS I’m (maybe, just a little bit) willing to work for it :’)

After the revision stuff I’m going to prepare a shit ton of chapters before publishing for y’all because you guys DESERVE new content, holy god I’m so sorry. That you’re all still waiting patiently even though I’m the most suckiest asshole of an author on the planet makes me want to work even harder for y’all to finally put your waiting to rest. If it was your plan to guilt trip me all along it’s definitely working—god I love y’all ;-;-;-; It’ll take longer to get anything out but it gives you guys a lot more content to read through in a shorter amount of time than if I were to write every chapter before publishing them like I’ve been doing.

Once I start going through the process I’ll update SAS’s status in the summary as well as make a short progress post here on Tumblr. I don’t know how many of you are even reading this essay but to those of you who are here this is all for you. I originally started writing this fic because I wanted to see the idea out on a screen with words and words to its name. It was just a little project for me, but now I have all of you to share it with and I’m so sorry for keeping so much of it away from you all for so long. You’ll have to wait a bit longer before any true updates are made to the fic, but hopefully it won’t be as long this time :))

I can’t give an exact date or even an estimate of when I’ll start publishing new chapters because I’m horrible at both keeping promises and time management. Feel free to shout at me in my asks or in the comments to make sure I’m actually being productive!!! I’ll probably be caught red-handed but that sort of thing helps me get off my ass the best—is that weird? I plan to start a new discord server specifically for SAS and any future fics I may or may not have, so be on the look out for that update post!!!

Entomologist Luffy x Doctor Law on first date.

Thanks to Paris’ bedbug crisis and this tweet thread, and countless more tweets about bedbugs scaring people, I can’t help but think about weirdo X weirdo LawLu on first date. Time to write another entomologist Luffy fic. Sadly I can’t my laptop is broken and I am still sick. 🤒

A fic where both idiots are set up on a blind date. And the moment Law sees Luffy, he is attracted but then Luffy tells him he studies insects and can entertain Law with never ending trivia about bugs, insects and other such creatures. Law being little smug bitch asks Luffy about bedbugs on whims.

Once Luffy begins sharing fascinating and equally creepy bedbug lore on first date with Law, it is game for the doctor.

Since Law is a little weirdo nerd, he will immediately become interested and intrigued. In learning new things lies his true joy.

So they chatter away about bedbugs like it’s the most beautiful creature on the planet while everyone else in the restaurant is horrified and grossed out by their unhinged conversation.

You want fuck nasty? Law is waiting for Luffy to get home because he finally got out early enough to clean himself up and do something special for the two, but Luffy is god knows where and accidentally leaves Law by himself for like 4 hours. You can decide what happens to Luffy when he gets back and finds Law with now, cold take-out from their favorite place at their dinner table and an even colder bathtub with sad bubbles (Idk I personally imagine Luffy will only willingly bath if Law asks nicely (begs)).

Luffy comes home and Law is pissed he stood him up and ready to punish him even though Luffy swears up and down his phone died when he was out with Nami and Sanji and never saw Law's text that he would be home early. Law puts him in his place so bad (good) that Luffy will NEVER forget to charge his phone ever again. (he can't walk properly for the next few days and Law is very happy about this since that means he's staying home for his day off)

Luffy gets home and Law looks so damn depressed and lonely and he feels so unbelievably bad that he knows he needs to apologize in every way he can think of. He spoils Law and gives him one of the best dicking downs of his life with extra sweet cuddles and a nice bath afterward with promises of a date where they do whatever he wants on his next day off. Law's still pissed and Luffy has to be extra sweet for at least 3-5 business days for Law to not bring it up every time he annoys him.

(ps I try to delete the idea that luffy doesn't bathe from my head because i am such a freak about bathing every day. idk how law could POSSIBLY sleep with his stinky ass cause you know luffy smells rank after 2 days of no shower. in my fics LUFFY BATHES IDGAF ABOUT CANON.)
