so a while ago I did a drawing of Anisa w/ the intention of doing something similar for the rest of the Starsworn, but I got uh. sidetracked. for two years. anyway by the time I got back to it I didn't love the original anymore, and it didn't fit w/ what I had in mind for the others, so I redid it! finally.

(I lost the original post when I switched to a sideblog and I'm too lazy to go looking for it but the og drawing is under the cut!)

I still like some parts of the old version but the new one is closer to what I was going for! this was also before I read the wiki and saw the Q+A post w/ everyone's elements

i did finish sage route (until chapter 14 btw) and the more i think about it the worse it feels

like, i do like sage. hes a great love interest, dont get me wrong but gramme as not only as the creator of last lagacy but also being the Lord of darkness???? it feels so cheap oh my god

is almost funny how bad it is. when the MC was back on Earth i was crying thinking wtf was going on and how could they comeback to astraea, now that they are back i think that they should have stayed on Earth. it would have been better.

im not hating on the game btw. i love last legacy, i love all the characters and will keep playing sages route as soon as the next chapter releases. but im disappoint on how things turned out

a/n: NO ONE told me that the series were left unfinished when i started last legacy and hyperfixated on it and and now im heartbroken and depressed ☹️☹️ i wrote this fic to cope with how much i love sage so it is completely self indulgent. might have grammar errors, enjoy!

he knew something was bothering you.

he could always tell, as if it came naturally to him. and now, sitting on one of the bar chairs, tail swishing with worry, you could sense he was pending in his mind about confronting you.

you didn't mind.

actually, maybe you even needed it.

needed for someone to hear, or just even be there; as long as you're aware someone knows that you are not okay. it was all you needed.

taking even steps towards his side, thoughts clouding your eyes that you didn't even seem notice what's going on around you. you just had your destination in your mind,

sage,

and your body, soul, seems to always know how to get beside him, even when you didn't see where you're going from looking through your mind; the picture of him, bloodied face stoic unlike his usual self, with that black eyepatch covering his right eye.

was it really just a dream?

did this 'gramme' guy even exist? was he just a figment of your imagination that your brain used to make you suffer as you slept that night? or maybe you, being in a bar with sage, drinking the night away without any worries was the real dream.

you didn't know,

nor did you want to know.

your mind kept speaking to you, making sure you're listening the sorrowful ideas because oh god, what would we do if you could just stop thinking for a minute. that wouldn't do at all!—

you suddenly feel his hand on top of yours, saving you from the torture that your mind is, even if for just a minute.

as of now, it had been two drinks since you stepped into the bar; and walked silently to him. he still hasn't commented on your dazed self, even though he knew something was bothering you; and you knew he knew.

but it was okay.

as long as he's here with you, even if as a cruel game of your mind; you didn't care, you told yourself.

that you wouldn't care, because if it isn't real; you would eventually move on from this world, from him,

liar.

though, in the dim light of the moon, falling from the window and resting like silk on top of both you as your silhouettes laid tangled,

as he engulfes you into a safe hug in your bed, kissing the crown of your head as he does everynight when he thought you were asleep;

D&D spells in Last Legacy

UPDATED!

Just a list of the spells mentioned in Last Legacy and their possible D&D counterparts! If you haven’t read what is published of LL, then there are a lot of spoilers below. I'll add more to the list if the chapters are able to be updated or completed.

I’ve played spell casters in D&D for a few years so I have a bit of a grasp on some of the spells. Let me know what you think or if I missed any!

Prologue

When Felix first summons MC to Astraea it seems like a 7th level Resurrection or a 9th level True Resurrection spell. I place Felix in the wizard class with the necromancy subclass so he wouldn't have access to this spell and trying to perform a spell unknown to you in D&D leaves more room for error. I also think Felix was using the Astrolabe (Rime’s old relic) as a tether and the relic had already took residence in MC.

Felix using the 7th level spell teleport to take himself and MC to Anisa.

In the Saucy Gull bar fight, Felix uses what seems like a 6th level version of the 4th level spell Banishment to send the attacking bar patrons into a void of dark choppy waters.

Felix shows Anisa and Sage that a Relic has taken residence in MC and a bright light shines accompanied by a musical hum. This could have been the 1st level spell Identify.

Sage’s Route

When Sage asks MC how they can understand Vari. MC says that Felix had cast many experimental spells on them to help with the journey from Mournfall to Porrima. It sounds like the 1st level spell Comprehend Languages though with an extremely long duration as it took Sage and MC a week or more to make the journey on foot or that it had a delayed activation since it hasn’t been mentioned again in later chapters.

In Sage Ch. 5 (& Ch. 8 I think), MC uses what seems like the cantrip Prestidigitation to warm up the bucket of water.

When heading into the sewers (in Ch.5), Anisa uses a spell that produces a small flame in her hand. By description, it sounds like the Druid cantrip Produce Flame, but since Anisa seems far from a druid, it could just be the Light cantrip.

When Sage gets aggressive about his corruption being examined by Felix, Felix's hands flair up in green flames in defense. This sounds like the Warlock cantrip Eldritch Blast.

In Ch.6, Rime after stabbing Sage, stops MC from running away by using what looks like the 7th level spell Power Word Pain as MC describes unbearable pain shooting through their body. I think he uses this in one of Felix’s early chapter as well for the some purpose. Rime also teleported MC and Sage to the lake so a 7th level teleport. Then Rime binds Sage's hands to the ground in black ice. There is a 2nd level spell in D&D called Rime's Binding Ice that basically does what is described above.

In Ch. 7 during MC’s training session with Sage, they blast Sage with a cold rush of wind to knock him off balance. This sounds like the cantrip Gust. Could also possibly be the cantrip Frostbite, but I’m going with Gust as MC wasn’t aiming to cause damage.

When Gramme returns in Ch. 9, he cast a blinding light that seems to harm and pushes the corrupt Griefers back but doesn't seem to hurt Rime. This sounds like the Oath of Devotion Paladin ability Turn the Unholy. It could also be the 1st level spell Word of Radiance or the 5th level spell Dawn. (more on this in Felix’s section)

The dark fog in Ch. 10 may be something like the 5th level spell Cloudkill that could have been cast by multiple cultists at the same time, just with the corruption twist instead of poison damage. You need a good Constitution save for this spell so Elowen has a High Con save. Another possibility is the 9th level spell, Weird.

In Ch.10 when MC tried to wake up Sage after the dark fog. They may have been trying for something along the lines of a lesser/greater restoration, but the Astrolabe performed something like the 6th level spell Dream. I wouldn’t think MC would have that spell as I personally see the MC in the sorcerer subclass divine soul. These are the best comparisons I could find, but this seemed like the Astrolabe just doing its thing. But MC did use the Astrolabe to wake everyone else up afterward.

Ch.10 Gramme checking MC for "negative energy." Possibly a 1st level Detect Magic or Identify spell.

In Ch.11 when Felix goes to scout the town after the fog, he says he used a modified version of the wards he and Gramme placed on the tower. Sounds like an 8th level Antimagic Field spell. But the 2nd level spell Warding Wind and 1st level Protection for Evil and Good spells could be viable options as well.

In Ch.11 when Gramme tries to kill MC. He’s possibly using something like the 9th level spell Power Word Kill, but the Astrolabe performs a 7th level spell, Plane Shift to save MC. (Twice as it takes MC back to Astraea)

In Ch.13 when MC cancels Sage’s transformation. I’m unsure, but my guesses are lesser/greater restoration, dispel magic, calm emotions, or remove curse. I’m leaning toward Calm Emotions as it’s 2nd level and just enough to stave off the corruption. Maybe Dispel Evil and Good, but in D&D that spell repels more that dispels.

When Sage and MC confront Gramme, he drops his disguise revealing himself as the LoS so he was using something akin to the 1st level spell Disguise Self.

Felix’s Route

Uses the 7th level spell Teleport often.

In one of the early chapters (2 or 3 I think) when MC sees the doppelganger of Felix, Rime is using something like the 1st level spell Disguise Self.

In Ch.3 (& Sage Ch.5) when Felix has the trapped soul. It sounds like a spell similar the the 6th level spell Soul Cage.

When Felix is having his meeting at the castle, MC is teleported to the roof by Rime. Seems like something along the lines of a 4th level Dimension Door or 7th level Teleport.

In Ch.4 when Felix says he can accompany MC back to town/Fathom Tower without leaving Blackthorn Hall. Astral Projection (a 9th level spell) is mentioned but not performed as Felix says he doesn’t have the patience to do it. (In D&D, this spell takes an hour to cast) The spells he seemed to actually use was the 7th level spell Etherealness via poison.

Rime stabs MC in Ch.5 and the dagger seems to have forced MC soul into the Ether with the thread attached. Felix uses what looks like a reversed version the 5th level Enervation spell to bring MC back to the material plane.

In Ch.8 when MC finds out Felix died as child and Escell hastily made a deal with the LoS to bring him back to life. Probably using either Revivify or Raise Dead. Revivify being the lowest level spell. If the LoS was a Paladin originally, he’d have access to all those spells even as something akin to an Oathbreaker. (I have my theories)

In Ch. 10 when MC heals Felix’s arm from using too much magic, any healing spell would have worked like a 1st level Cure Wounds or Healing Word, but Felix seem extremely taken aback by the skill applied so maybe the 6th level Heal was used. Possibly a 5th level Greater Restoration.

When Escell tries to kill MC (as Felix jumps in the way) I’m assuming he used something along the lines of Harm (6th level spell) or Power Word Kill (level 9 spell)

Not sure what Rime could have used to bring Felix back with the pact looking mark on his chest, but assuming he retained all of his previous life spells, he could have easily used something like Revivify, Raise Dead, Resurrection or True Resurrection but with some dark twist.

Anisa

Just a fun mention, in Ch. 1 Sage is making fun on Felix's height saying that Felix messed up a "grow bigger spell." Felix says no such spell exist. In D&D, there is the Reduce/Enlarge spell though the effects are significant.

In Ch. 3, Escell is showing how some documents about the High Paladin have be forged. It's described as a small pulse of wind and a sound like a lock being broken. He says that this spell remove falsities. The spell used to make the documents could have illusory script (a 1st level spell). And Escell could have just used a 3rd level dispel magic. The 6th level spell True Seeing could also be an option. If Escell is tricking Anisa, then the 6th level spell Programmed Illusion makes sense.

In Ch. 6 when Saaros takes MC and Anisa to the art exhibit. He explains that the forest is an illusion so the 6th level spell Programmed Illusion fits perfectly as this spell last until it is dispelled.

In Ch. 7 & 8 when the LoS shows himself to MC and Anisa, he traps them in an illusion with a flashback to the past. Possible spells could be Hallucinatory Terrain (4th level), Temporal Shunt (5th level), Programmed Illusion (6th level), or Mirage Arcane (7th level). Also possibly the 5th level spell Dream, but the others make a little more sense to me.

Fictif Pokemon Teams: Last Legacy LIs

So here is the Last Legacy version of the Pokemon Au.For this one, I see the Starsworn being somewhat like Pokemon Rangers seeing how they both protect and help people and their world.

Alolan Marowak (Fire/Ghost) - Besides both having the same green flames, (and possibly height XD), this Marowak is referred as “conjurers of the dead”, with their spirt projecting and sixth sense.

Meowstic (Psychic)- The Stella vibes are strong with this one.

Cofagrigus (Ghost)- Felix occasionally visits a lot of crypts and masoleums, so it’s only natural he catches a ghost pokemon lurking around.

Decidueye (Grass/ Ghost)- So I’m in the same camp that think that Felix got his admiration of plants from Florian, so why not have a pokemon that mashes both his and his Dads interests.

Spiritomb (Ghost/Dark)- Felix has had many......”accidents “ in his life so coming a cross and eventually this spirit makes perfect sense.

Litwick (Ghost/Fire)- Reflects on how flustered and clumsy Felix can be.

Absol (Dark)- Part of this pick goes into spoiler territory for her Route, but it’s also due to its cat like appearance. Absol is also good natured and known to help those in need.

Samurott (Water)- Since Anisa is a knight , Samurott’s valiant and selfless nature fits well with her.

Aegislash (Steel/Ghost)- This mostly connects to her relic and what knight isn’t without her sword and sheild.

Togekiss (Fairy/Flying)- A pokemon relating to Anisa’s moral and gentle nature. This pokemon soars to a variety of different places, so this can connect her to awareness of outer realms.

Wingull (Water/Flying)- Another one relating to other realms.With having this pokemon around, it kinda examples where Anisa gets alot of foreign items and collection, as well as the sheer amount of junk she has in her apartment.

Kirlia (Psyhic)- I wanted to give her a pokemon to reflect her graceful and playful side.

Incineroar (Fire/Dark)- I mean come on! A hot tempered kitty with a burning fuse, how could he NOT have this pokemon.

Darmanitan (Fire)- Another big fiery muscle. Though I think this one can show more control when it goes into zen mode

Pignite (Fire/Fighting)- This little guy is a big eater as much as Sage is a bar hopping party animal. I can definitely see them running up each others tabs.

Zoura (Dark)- A mischievous little furball who finds trouble wherever they go. It’s a perfect match. Sage probably ran into him while he was on the street as a kid.

Scrafty (Dark/Fighting)- Fits his “Lone Wolf” persona and tendencies, as well as his impatient personality.

Obstagoon (Dark/Normal)- Sage would have probably got this wild pokemon after MC’s disappearance and when Astrea was taken over. He probably worked up some mutual agreement Obstagoon to wreck havoc while until he assists at killing Gramme.

Last Legacy but a Mummy!AU where Sage is O'Connell and MC is Evelyn,, Imhotep is the Lord of Shadows. Gramme could be the Curator I guess? Um. The Corrupted are the Plague victims. Maybe Mike could be Beni? I know that's kinda cheating but I think he'd make a great weasley bastard.

Alternatively. Um. AU where Felix is Evelyn and MC (or Rime depending on what you want) is O'Connell. Scylla as Jonathan. Still LoS as Imhotep but I guess maybe Rime as the Curator? Idk. It'll come to me eventually.

Also the first movie was genuinely suspenseful and brutal and scary and now I understand why so many people consider it a horror movie,, or at least horror-adjecent. The second movie is much more action-adventure and a little campy, though it's still got some bite.

Foreigner at Shoreline

I was on the fence about this one for a long time. I never loved Foreigner, but their music was ever-present during my junior high and elementary school years, which could only tip the option up to a maybe. Learning that the opening band would be Loverboy probably worked against the odds. My hesitancy meant we passed up 2 different TIcketMaster sales that would have made the price more palatable. Thanks to the wife’s continued insistence on this one, we made a spot decision to buy tickets in person at the box office when went to Shoreline to see Sam Hunt, removing the TicketMaster fees from the equation.

My worry was largely that the whole concert would lean to the 80s hair band. I have never been a metal head, a few songs aside, and I was concerned that both bands would trend that way in person. What I had ultimately forgotten, however, was how many legendary hits Foreigner cranked out in their prime in the late seventies and early eighties.

Loverboy did trend towards the hair band ethos, and I didn’t love their set. I could only remember one song of theirs from back in the day, although ultimately three were recognized. What was a delight was the contrast between the Loverboy of today vs the Loverboy of yore. I spent most of the set texting people with sight gags from the show. I loved that the lead singer continues to wear a headband, as he did in the eighties, even if he no longer sported the tight leather pants for which he was known. They closed, as expected, with Working For The Weekend. I may have left before the song ends to get to the snack bar.

Foreigner brought the nostalgia, and damn the nostalgia was fun. I don’t have any major life moments or memories where Foreigner provides the soundtrack. But I do have a handful of mental GIFs. Learning BASIC in my first computer class, while listening to Juke Box Hero. Eating pepperoni pizza with my dad in a Round Table Pizza, while Waiting For a Girl Like You played on the jukebox. Nice memories, but nothing special.

What was surprising was the depth of their collection that they could crank out in concert. Out of the gate with four giant hits from back in the day: Double Vision, Head Games, Cold As Ice, and Waiting For A Girl Like You. That was followed by three I didn’t recognize, then they closed with another half dozen memorable, singable hits, interrupted by some extended drum and guitar solos. 10 memorable songs in 2 hours is a pretty respectable showing.

I haven’t been following their roster movement over the last 4 decades, but I was surprised with how spry the lead singer was. Wikipedia informed by that Lou Gramm left the band a couple decades ago, so the lead was now Kelly Hanson. Hanson was so good, so active, and so enthusiastic, he single-handedly removed by concern about seeing legacy bands with replacement lead singers. I’ve always been about the voice and the lyrics. Most of the time, drums, bass, and guitars are all replaceable, for me, but a different lead singer was a dealbreaker. But Hanson was great, which I guess makes sense, since he has been in the role for 20 years. But this change of heart opens me up to consider seeing a whole raft of loved bands that now have a different lead singer: Journey and INXS are the first to mind.

Despite all my hesitancy, the wife was right. It was a good time, one of the better concerts I have seen this year. Since it was purportedly Foreigner’s last tour, I am glad she pushed the agenda.
